Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 10:10am On Dec 27, 2012
Rich4god: The only proof you guys have against birthday is because the bible recorded that a pagan celebrated it, it never stated that a pagan started it. So am telling you tthat you are been selective in your judgement. Am pretty sure that even before the time of Herod there are people who celebrate birthday. Mind you people exited before the bible were written so basing your arguement on the issue of birthday based on what is written in the bible to conclude that birthday is pagan is illogical/basless and more over, the bible recorded Herod's birthday to show the circumstance that lead to the death of John and not to render it a pagan worship.
What about pharoah na and all the birthdays of zeus, artemis et al.........??........going by the bibles standards no servant of God celebrated birthdays..its as clear as day.........birthdays was never a custom of Gods people....it has always been of pagans.......why u dey argue like this??....abi the harmattan dey worry u??..........

______________________________

I can't stop you from celebrating your birthday,........I'm only worried because you are projecting such pagan custom on Jesus the holy servant of GOD...........the xmas has and would never be to the glory of God and his son........its all to the glory of presumptuous people who want to indulge in self gratification while hiding behind the cloak of christianity......

Zikkyy: This is one of the best post on this thread. Thank you
Don't feel too happy.....todaynatoday knows xmas is a fraud and he isn't a celebrant.......

Rich4god: Good. It is right to commemorate the last supper abi? Then you are no different form us because on the day you are commemoratin it, am sure there is a spirit/idol that is related to that particular day. So you just proved yourself to be an idol worshipper just like you said we are.
Lol.....we commemorate the last supper(sacrificial death) of Christ on the date he instituted it.......again Jesus gave the command....how you want to relate this to your pagan xmas that is a fraud and a lie would make me never reply you again on this topic.....................the only spirit that is in charge of the commemoration of Christ death is the holy spirit.......as for your christmas you know it is the spirit of the world that's in charge.......
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 9:56am On Dec 27, 2012
Zikkyy: The bolded and the bit in red was the attraction. God has no birth date and God cannot die as well. It goes together. If i cannot celebrate God's birthday because he does not have one, i cannot commemorate his death because he no dey die. abi? anyways make i leave matter.
In the long run you should knw where I'm heading at na....I'm trying to debunk both the trinity and xmas put together.....grin......

Bottom line:::...xmas has no scriptural foundation...........its just crazy......
people can do what they like but let's respect our Lord and stop squeezing him into paganism.......that's the point of this thread......xmas is a big LIE...let's teach our kids the truth.....
Zikkyy: Not my fault, you guys keep coming up with something new for me to respond to.
Lol.............na ona cause am too......
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 9:42am On Dec 27, 2012
Rich4god: Common... Stop reasoning like this. Must the bible mention everthing. After i graduated from the university. Me and my close friends went for a thanksgiving service after which we heard a get together at my place in school just to celebrate our five years stay in school From your judgement, we are now idol worshippers cos no where in the bible did the early christians celebrate graduation party. So if i may ask, which spirit is attributed to graduation party.
The bible must mention everything associated with His plans of which Jesus is one of them.................so now we are to go into graduation parties??............right??...........you want us to talk about graduation parties??....then start a thread giving me a brief history of graduation parties and tell me if they are pagan......that's the same thing the Op did with xmas...............

You have not yet concluded with xmas you want to run to graduation............smh!!!!!!..........

Zikkyy: You cannot even admit when you make a blunder. So with your question below, you are not saying the birthday of the Almighty God cannot be celebrated, what you are saying is that we cannot celebrate it because he has not issued a command for it to be celebrated. please clarify.
Nope....I'm only saying if you guys really believe that Jesus is the almighty God you won't celebrate his birthday because God has no birth date......don't u get it??.......servants of His who were humans never celebrated theirs let alone God who never had a beginning......I was trying to plainly tell you how pagan the xmas celebration is...,,,,,.........its foundation has been a fraud..............besides God would never have commanded through his son that the birth of Jesus be celebrated because from the scriptures birthdays are less important than the day of ones death.....Jesus' death is what has opened d way to salvation.........that is why there is a need to commemorate it like the pass over was commemorated by the Jews.....even At that Jesus gave the command...........as for birthdays it has no link with Yahwehs servant let alone Yahweh commanding them to engage in it.............

Zikky you are dragging this discussion too much.......

Zikkyy: Don't hide under the umbrella of command. You questioned the logic of celebrating the birth of a God (the Almighty himself), so am asking a similar question; why is it possible to commemorate the sacrifice?
Because he commanded it....isn't that a perfect answer??....wait for the commander whom you call you God to give the go-ahead rather than act presumptuously....................besides I'm not hiding under anything.......first of the catholics made Jesus almighty God, and also chose to celebrate his birthday just as the pagans do by stealing from the same pagans dec 25th along with its customs..........are you seeing the similarity??.........its all paganism bro.......only pagans celebrated the birthdays of there gods...........and now professed christians are doing the same.........its all a fraud bro.........

Zikkyy: ...But it's okay to celebrate his crucifixion abi? You need to spend time with Logicboy to improve your own angry
Lol.........its right to commemorate the last supper because Jesus is the new passover.......and because Jesus himself commanded it..........why u can't get this point baffles me zikky.......smh!!!!............
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 7:50am On Dec 27, 2012
Rich4god: That the bible recorded only pagans celebrating birthday does not mean that its pagan worship for someone to celebrate his own birthday.
If the bible not mentioning not a single birthday of a servant of God but that of pagans is not enough reason why one shouldn't engage in observing his/her own birthday then you need to do a re-evaluation of your trust in the bible..............why would the bible omit the birth dates of servants of God including Jesus, but will record down the birthdays celebrated by pagans??..............

Only pagans who never had a future celebrated there birthdays....for true servants of God the day of death would always be better than the day of ones birth.....because this life isn't all there is.........

You guys because of satisfying your birthday desires , projected such non-biblical acts on Jesus...............Jesus does not need his birthday celebrated...he is a king in heaven and our high priest ready to carry out judgement soon on the wordly........focus on the more important things and discard this pagan celebration called xmas........it has no dealing with our Lord.........I expect you guys who even assume Jesus to be the almighty God(though wrong from the scriptures) to be ashamed of yourselves.....how can you celebrate the birthday of the almighty God......??.......smh!!!...its a shame!!!!!!!
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 7:24am On Dec 27, 2012
Rich4god: Truthzlyt and plapville... I need a verse or chapter in the bible where it written that it is a pagan practice to celebrate birthday.
And they have open verses to show that only pagans celebrated there birthdays.....now a right thinking servant of God would ask::::why did not one servant of God from abel to the 1st century christians(the apostles) celebrate there birthdays but pagans did??...........this question would even help you see why Jesus' birth day was never mentioned in the bible..........its precept upon precept......follow the examples of servants of old rather than the worldly trend...........birthdays have always had something to do with spiritism like truthislight said.....none of Gods servants would go near it..........all the birthdays mentioned in the bible were always in conflict with Gods standards..........
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 7:20am On Dec 27, 2012
true2god: Its all about selectiv judgement. Condemn wat u hate and propagate wat u like. I raised the issue of olympics and non had been able to clarify dat. If the greece honoured their god, Zeus, with a sporting event y dnt papville and co condemn the present olympic event as an idol worship since it has it root in idolatory which can be proven by contemporary history, and even the present olympic signs and holograms.

Is present day olympic an idol worship (mr truthislight)?
Have I not answered this useless question before??.........YES the olympics still remains what it is....pagan!!!!!.......let's be truthfull to ourselves.........you guys have acted so jejune....just because enough evidence has been given to show the fraud xmas is you switch the topic to olympics and wedding gown.....smh!!!!!!..............is it not a shame??.........xmas has been debunked from all corners....the bible, history and what have you.....instead of you guys to be humble and allign your trained conbsciences to the truth you are here playing ten ten............

The OLYMPICS is pagan...I've answered It before and here it is again.....

Rich4god: How does my xmas tree have any thing to do with a pagan. If a pagan eats rice and i myself eats rice, does that make me an idol worshipper. You should stop attributing things to pagans just because the started doing it first before christians started. More over, pagans where on earth before christ came in so i guess pagans started doing what basically everyone is doing here on earth. And again, just like someone said earlier. Sunday is the day of sun worship, but christians worship God on sunday. So from your reasoning it can be said that christians that goes to church on sunday are idol worshippers.
Only pagans use trees in celebrating the birthday of there Gods......I thought you had read serrialinks excerpt taken even from the scriptures that shows how pagan the use of the xmas tree is.........go to google and enter ""origin of xmas tree" and edify yourself...............we can't be moving in circles......and mind you i serve God every day and preach almost everyday.....the day ""SUNDAY"" means nothing to me.......I have never attached importance to any day..not even my birthday.......its those who feel sunday is for worship that you should be asking the sunday sunday questions...grin.......
____________________________

Point:::....don't let pagans set the pattern of worship for you........that is why God seperated the isrealites from the other nations....he wanted them to be completely seperate from the pagan nations around them.....again Jesus reiterated that ""we should be no part of the world""......let's heed to that command rather than chasing after pagan festivals and squeezing Jesus into it..............

Rich4god: Good... Did the xmas celebrant engage in making sacrifice to idols?.... Did they go to church and start singing "we hail the sun our god"?... Did they visit any shrine to worship any idol? Or the gift in which they pass out to their loved ones and the less privilege, was it given to them bhy the priest of a shrine?... Plz answer me.
The xmas celebrants engage fully in the customs of the pagan worshippers......why??because that's its origin...............I mentioned the use of xmas tree and also santa claus....you ran away from that and now you are saying something different..........besides the date dec 25th is false..........its pagan.........so xmas is fully immersed in paganism...I don't knw how you want to wriggle your way out of this.....

I am not a participant of the olympics neither do I support it......if you can say the above like I did of xmas then we'll end this argument

Rich4god: From the response you gave to zikky, your answer to my question is yes... i am an idol worsipper.
No, there are some sundays that i repeat such things that i mention in my question to you. Does doing that on a normal sunday makes me an idol worshipper?
Days mean nothing to me,,,....everyday is what matters bro.....oh except for the commemoration of Christs death which he instituted......

My answer to zikky was to the fact that xmas is wrong and also its celebrants are wrong.....if you want to hear the same for the olympics I'm ready to give you an answer......if the olympics is pagan then the olympics and its participants are erring too......I no go hide mouth....
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 12:54pm On Dec 26, 2012
true2god: U be otondo for watching 'only' the highlight. So all the athletes that participated in the olympic are all worshiping idol cos of the origin of the olympic? If u dey watch the 'highlight' with passion and interest r u not a participant? I am sure u may even participate in the next olympic if u given the opportunity or sent as a delegate to rio dejaniero 2016.

Wont u go if u hav the oportunity?
I don't watch the highlight with passion.......and I won't engage in the olympics because I know its origin.....you err big time if you think I would even think of going for an olympics even if I had the opportunity....like I said earlier your questions don't apply to me..........and again the athletes who engage in the olympics should use the scriptures to answer if they are pagans for engaging in the games..........
Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 12:52pm On Dec 26, 2012
Rich4god: Ofcourse... From what you have been teaching here, once sport update come up, you either turn off your TV or run away since watching it makes you a pagan worshipper.
Did I engage in the olympics or support a participant??......do I have anything to do with olympics??.........its like telling me to close my eyes and ears while walking on the road because christmas celebrants are all over the place merrying??........I am no participant or a supporter of the olympics....direct these questions you are asking to the right people....

Christianity EtcRe: Christians, Can You Trace The History Of Your Feastival......? by ijawkid(m): 12:47pm On Dec 26, 2012
true2god: U didnt watch the olympic u only saw clips or highlights on cnn and supersports. The highlight u watched on supersports is not an olympic event abi. I bet u, the highlight u watched on supersports can take 3 to 4 hrs of ur time. so dnt be econimical with the truth, u watched and followed the olympic events to the fullest and i knw u knw osain bolt of jamaica and u watched him run.

Did osain bolt or any other athlete worship any idol at the olympics. Of course we knw the history of the event in greece but this modern era has given the event another meaning devoid of its pagan origin.

While im not an advocate of subtutitive religion, the fact remains dat the pagan origin of the olympics has long lost its significance. The pagan origin of sundays had lost its significance, the pagan origin of xmas had lost its significance, the pagan origin of exchangin wedding rings had lost its significant. No one is offerin a sacrifice to any idol in any of these events. Its rather a time of joy and celebration.

I dnt knw if u r gerring my points. I can have a 1000 and 1 reasons to condemn anything i dnt like. There is always a point to justify an action while might seem logical to an average person. Thats the power of human reasoning.
Shhhh.........comparing olympics shown on a news channel like CNN and xmas which you engage in personally are 2 different things my bro.......you can't compare them.......everybody knws usain bolt...he's a celebrity.......even here on nairaland the news came up that usain bolt is the fastest man on earth....I don't engage in the olympics neither do I take sides with any of those engaging in it....direct your questions to the right persons............direct your questions to proffesed christians who are participants of the olympics.....I'm here battling with you guys because you are participants of the xmas celebration.......if you weren't I wouldn't bother anybody......

Xmas has been glued to Jesus Christ and its wrong..if you can't accept that truth but rather look for grounds to make it lOok good wont change the fact that Jesus wasn't born on dec 25th and that xmas is a fraud and a lie.............

You sure are engaging in the same exact practices the sun God worshippers carried out.....you erect xmas trees in your homes, you exchange gifts like you'll do today, you take ya kids to santa claus, many around the world celebrating xmas would indulge in debauchery etc........you still do the same things as did the pagans............nothing different.....

Right Yansh: Garri can be eaten without further cooking by placing in a bowl and adding cold water; Ijebu-garri is made to have finer grains, and a pleasantly sour taste, making it very suitable for consumption in this way. Sugar or honey is then added as well as chunks of coconut, groundnuts, tigernuts and cashew nuts. Milk may also be added. Most garri, however, is cooked by adding to boiling water and stirring to make a stiff paste or porridge, which among the Igbos is known as utara, and among Yorubas as eba. Utara (or eba) is normally eaten with soups, of which several different kinds are available. Most parts of Africa where cassava is grown have an equivalent staple dish.
