Prick, toto, marriage, wickedness and n-udity are the only things which dominate the mind of black people the world over. Innovation repels them faster than moth balls to cockroaches.
/
You are late to the party.
It has already been established that black people have nothing intellectual to offer neither can they take care of themselves. Oil in their backyard, they cannot refine. Common roads, they cannot construct. But bring anything that gives immediate gratification, you will get their attention. Put blacks and modern science/technology in the same sentence is an anomaly. Everything you listed above are the only thing they care about with mundane consumption. Ever noticed that white folks brag about how much they saved which gives birth to sales events while black folks brag about how much they waste. Typically white folks tell you they get a good deal on a car but blacks will tell you they spent N40m on a N6m car and expect accolades. Where did we go wrong?

If you can't get married to A, B, C....all the way to Z, then something is definitely wrong. No one is asking ladies to marry the first pointdexter that shows up. Married women are not any happier than single ladies but wetin person reach no be like long throat.

I am yet to see any culture where marriage is not admired and encouraged. If you want to believe programmed TV shows, oh well. The reality is all around you and not data online. The reason many people are talking about it online or offline is because it is a big deal. But anyone in doubt is free to create her own reality. No person is an island. Dem go still judge your matter whether you like or not. Pray to God to give you serenity over things you cannot change. Pressure to marry na one of them.

This is what happens when one makes promises they cannot fulfill. A man says he will leave his wife for you doesn't mean he will do it.

Pastor picked his immediate family and relocated to Dallas leaving angry, dejected and used woman to aim for the jugular.

Madam, please go back to your husband. Pastor no send. Both of you enjoyed it while it lasted.

English literature comes in different forms.
The man asked a question one would expect in a public forum. It could be sarcasm, cynicism, denial, rejection, etc. They are equally acceptable and add to the juice.
Hot and controversial topics like homosexuality, religion, abortion, feminism, etc always bring the best and worst in people. Go to yahoo.com or google.com comment sections and have a good laugh. Nothing is that serious.

Nutase:
For a prostitute can be had for a loaf of bread, but another man’s wife preys on your very life.
Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.

Proverbs 6:26‭-‬29 NIV

What if the parties involved are not Christians and have never read nor care about your Bible.

Can we use the standard of Islamic Koran to hold everyone responsible if you are apt at using biblical passages as the yardstick for morality? We were born into Christianity and hold the Bible dear to our heart just as Islam, Judaism, Budhaism, etc have their religious books with teachings that may be at variance with Christianity.

Who is right?

Just curious...

I agree with you. That’s why if you re-read the original statement I made, I said the government needs to diversify the economy. And I listed the areas.

Trust me, I am just as frustrated as you when it comes to Imo state. That state has so much potential with is central location to everything in the southeast And some parts of the south south. The government is useless.
Anambra has Onitsha and Nnewi.
Abia has Aba.
Enugu is rebranding Nsukka.
Imo is still stuck at Owerri as all and all.

As little as Owerri is, it is still stuck in dark ages even with unlimited potential. Ikedi was just there. Rochas had 8 years but used it to return Owerri to the 1800s. Eight fruitful years are more than enough for any leader with vision. Guess who may be coming back? Ohakim! Is the state cursed or what? I don't get it.

Are you a moral or religious police. What people do in their private time is not my business or your business.

If the economy is really your issue, then your main concern should be if the hotel investments are being utilized at full capacity. This will help increase the profit of the owners and tax revenue for the government. In turn, the owners wil expand their facilities to other entertainment avenues such as restaurant, night clubs, event centers and casinos.

Do you know that 10 to 15 years ago, people all over the south east used to go to port Harcourt to find decent hotels. Today, people come to owerri to stay is certain hotels. This is progress.

If prostitution is your issue then your hands full because prostitution is the oldest profession on earth. Even int the north where there is sharia, there is still prostitution there.
/
Prostitution is not my concern. Can the industry around it generate enough revenue to sustain the state when combined with federal allocation? No. There you have it. We are talking economy and you are debating with yourself about morality.

Why anyone would leave serene environment like Enugu and travel to Owerri beats my imagination. I passed through Owerri in June....and never again. Rochas reduced that city to a dump.

Owerri needs to continue building on their tourism niche. Eventually, they will get there even though it may not look impressive now.

But most importantly, Imo state's economy needs to be diversified. They need to supplement their budding tourism industry with agriculture, agro processing, heavy and light industry, trade and commerce.

There needs to be special industrial zones mapped out in Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe which will be supported with government incentives.

I heard innoson has acquired 100,000 square meters of land on the outskirts of Owerri, near the airport to build his brand new factory.

We need more of this happening. I believe other industrialist will follow but Imo state government needs to be very serious.
/
Can you name two tourists centers in Owerri, Imo State that generate revenues for the government?

Sex tourism cannot sustain a city. People go to Owerri to pick up women and sleep in hotels. What else? No casinos (big source of revenues), no steady power and no security. We hope Owerri will get there but Nigerian leaders are not equipped with that level of thinking faculty. That's why we resort to wish and hope. Imo State starts and ends at Owerri.

Please educate me on tourists attractions in Owerri other than beehive of ladies of easy virtue. How can the government monetize unregulated and non-taxable sexual escapades in Owerri?

As little as Israel is, the nation of Israel remains strong.

SE can do it but a lot of basic things need to be put in place. Creating employment opportunities should be a priority. In Aba or Onitsha, even poor people have ways of sustaining themselves if they apply themselves well. The weakest link is Imo State. Hotels and factories can coexist for mutual benefits--with one supporting the other. Building a city solely as an outlet for merriment without supporting factories is a hallmark of shortsightedness. Tourism? Yep. That is definitely coming from folks who have never visited a real tourist destination. Cheap sex is an invitation to escapades and not tourism. With all the hotels, why is Imo State not able to get enough IGR to pay salaries and pensions? Owerri is no where close to Las Vegas, Hong Kong or Manila. Therein lies the difference. Most people who graduate from higher institutions in Owerri have to move to PH, FCT, Lagos or Kano in search of jobs or for I.T because there are no supporting industries.

The cities they intend to copy are centuries ahead in tourism. Owerri ain't got it. That's all. Night life is practically non-existent except around All Season hotel. Beyond that, moving around at night in Owerri is one heck of an onerous task with possible negative outcome. So much for tourists' city.

Not surprised that you are wondering because some of you are just wandering around in the DARKNESS. Like I told one guy some time ago, just try to leave your village for once in your life. You don't even have to cross the ocean. Morrocan, Kenyan and South African visas are not hard to get. Go and visit cities like Rabat, Nairobi, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, to see how they build things. I have even suggested visiting Abuja to see how it was built. All these JUNK they are building in igboland is a JOKE. The funny thing is the amount of CHEST THUMPING coming from you guys about your prowess in business, but you guys don't seem to know how to do other things right. The pictures I've seen about some of these estates like heliu are typical of all other RUBBISH that is springing up in the south east ie houses that are built with BLOCK and CEMENT; the entire front yard and back yard covered with concrete instead of grass; no trees in sight; HUMAN WASTE that is buried in the backyard; BOREHOLE for clean water. I even saw a GUTTER to nowhere, like it is on every SINGLE one of our roads. It's all GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT. Stop it NOW. Start doing things the right way. It's 2018 for crying out loud. Stop this MEDIOCRITY in igboland.

Let the weak hands keep tattooing themselves out of opportunities. Ask some people the significance of the dragon inked permanently on their body and you get a blank stare. It doesn't help that the tattoos I see in Nigeria are as hideous as something drawn by a child.
