PinkStarsFallIn: If you PH now, also note that you may not get your GH in one month. In a spirit of fairness ur GH will be pending over a month cos those that are placed on hold will have to GH too I mean those who PH huge sum of money now that are waiting to GH, so,if they don't GH their millions you may never receive your PH value or GH after 30 days. This is the drag period. Cos GH will drag as long as possible. The only way MMM can pull out of this is to create a source of revenue. Or have the bigwigs forfiet their money or give them oju owo alone. Lol. Guys, it's not a matter of if MMM has crash or not, it will no doubt crash / Why are you wasting precious time preaching to MMM disciples? The handwriting is clearly written, but they'd rather live in fantasy world built on denial. IF they pay the small accounts, the bigger accounts are still waiting. Of course, the smaller accounts will be delusional to throw back money into the system. Everyone is on self-rescue mission. Folks are praying to get their original funds back (30% interest is not even a consideration for now). The more you preach against MMM, the more those whose funds are trapped feel threatened by the expose' and they will attack. I think the MMM issue is overflogged. Let it be. let's be honest please MMM is dead. Everyone is waiting to recover his/her fund. Participants' confidence in the scheme is almost zero. maternal: Likewise, I had to laugh too. My "lease" was for 25 years and with accelerated payments it'll be 20. But what's even more funny is that the house I bought for 260k is now worth 340k in the 7 years I've owned it. Yes, the house I am "leasing" has flipped me a profit of 80k dollars in those few years. And you know what's funny, I know people (my mother) who are taking these "lease" loans, buying house in naija, and making the poor soles down there pay them rent. In short goes to paying the bank back with interest, while full right ownership goes towards my mother. My guy almost everyone pays these "leased payments", unless you're Dangote, except mine goes towards full right ownership with each payment. Whereas a common man in naija go pay rent till he dies. I'm not interested in the few in naija who can afford home ownership, I'm talking about the masses. If I have to pay rent I might as well be paying into a "lease" which goes towards me owning it outright within x amount of years, than throwing money away. Make sense ?
A man that builds a house in AJ city can call his shack his own all he wants. I'd rather pay the 20 years and have a house with constant electricity, running water, good workmanship, solid foundation, etc. To me that's better than calling a shack built beside raw sewage in a 3rd world country my own. Besides with one pay cheque I can come and buy it outright from him. Is that suppose to be impressive ? But you're ignorant on how credit works, and how you can use it for your best interest, build the middle class, and to accumulate assets which turns into wealth down the line (See my leased house which is now worth 80k more).
Just saying... But I understand your point. LOL. A house you bought $260k is now worth $340k. On paper, that is a profit of $80k. Great! Now grab a paper, pencil and a calculator. Add up all your payments, interests and property taxes (excluding cost of maintenance). Primary residence is never an investment. How many people do you see owning multiple properties in US? Extremely rare because the mortgage style of financing offers little home for growth. The difference is that house owners in Nigeria are real landlords. You made interesting assumptions: 1) You will be healthy enough to pay off your mortgage for the remaining years. 2) Your job will be secure in the next 20+ years. 3) Past performance is an indication of future performance. The system that values your house at $340k can arbitrarily value it at $100k next year without any physical change to your property. Many people lost their houses in 2008-2011. Some ended up abandoning their houses. US system is set up for debt. We live that way. But you cannot for the life of me tell me that I am better off with my mortgage of $6k in a month. Some knowledgeable Nigerians take out their equities to buy out properties elsewhere. That should be in your game plan. Oh and by the way, after paying for 20 years, your now lovely wife may decide that she is fed up with you per irreconcilable differences. Guess what? You pack out. Spread your risks. \ |

signature2012: How wish Nigerian govt can allow or give same chance to her citizens without "man no man" or favouritism to lease a house and after 30 years it will be finally theirs. To butress my point,my former landlord is an igbo man,i wont use the word LEASE but bought the house in the year 1998,a 2 story building,he and his family make use of the 2nd floor while he rented out the 1st floor and the basement, the money he makes monthly is double the amount he pays for his monthly mortgage payment. Is that not a good way of having a home and also call it investment?
Back to naija, looking at the country the way it is,what is the % of citizens who have this privilege? / I guess it depends on individual goals. After many years, US becomes stagnant. As an investor, you decide to spread your wings. If you see folks that have been in US upwards of 30 years, watch them...their lives are like revolving doors. \ |

After years of being a "playa" while his mates were grinding and built a good middle class lifestyle with assets, he has finally opened his eyes on the opportunities he had and eventually wasted. Now ashamed and embarrassed he needs to make excuses for his successful or lack of it abroad. So now he's running around discouraging people from coming abroad, and blaming racism and everybody for his lack of success abroad. Notice he hasn't taken any responsibility as well? Is someone putting a gun to his head and making him stay in America ? I'm 31 and in Canada, all my mates who came here all own houses and drive nice cars within 6 years after arriving. My cousin who just came here 4 months ago as a skilled worker just landed a entry level job at a major bank taking home 2600 Canadian dollars per month after taxes. You do the conversion. That's a entry level position. And he has his own apartment and about to get a car, not to mention he has the luxury of living in a country that provides everyday amenities (running water, constant neppa, etc). How many 31 year old can accomplish this in naija in 4 months unless there papsi was one big politician stealing money ? The funny part is, my uncle (his dad) was originally against him migrating here. Now he thanked God he did. He use to be one of those naija patriots (like playa), even he can say youths in naija have a future with a straight face anymore.

Oocc: You graduated 15, 10, years ago and still no job yet. You talk to people around about it, to get help but you are mocked behind you and they talk about you and say all sorts of things.
You walk almost all the roads and streets in Lagos in search of job, still no job. Any company you go to, they tell u to apply online whenever they have vacancies.
You stay at home to search for jobs online and neighbours gossip you and say he stays at home doing nothing, instead of him to go out and hustle like his mates. They term you a lazy man.
You come on nairaland to talk about your joblessness and how you have suffered, and you see people advising and some even opting to help, but at the end, you discover it was all but a show. No one wants to help.....Nobody wants to help, even if they can. I even doubt if any man helps any man these days. Mostly they prefer to help women! I've had about 4 different Nairalanders that have opted to help, but they just stop replying when you send them the mail or CV they requested.
You lay on your bed every night, thinking, sometimes praying and crying.. ..soaking your pillows with tears, but it just seem like God is just far away.
The truth is.. ...nobody cares! Nobody gives a damn about you. If you like kill yourself inside your room......nobody cares! You don't have a job for 20 years, nobody cares! You discover that the more you tell people your problems the more they mock you and use you as a topic of discussion, and the more you get frustrated. Nobody helps anybody again in Nigeria.
This is to me and all those nairalanders like me, coming to seek for help......coming to seek for job.....Stop begging for job, stop hoping that someone will help you here. Drop that your certificate, in fact go and hide it(i just did that today) Go out there, carry concrete-in-pans on your head and climb a 3- storey building, wash toilets, carry loads for people, work as labourer on site, carry packages from container to store, carry cement, do all sorts of dirty jobs and make money.. ....no matter how small. At least you won't beg anyone, or hope on anyone. Just do anything to survive, cos no one will help you except you.
#bowing out When you wake up every morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself "I am on my own". The mindset will lead you to greater things. \ |

SexyBabe001: The Dangote Tomato Processing Factory in Kadawa, Kura Local Government Area of Kano State is to resume production in February.
The company, which began production in Feb. 2016, had to suspend operation due to lack of enough raw materials. The Managing Director of the company, Alh. Abdulkadir Kaita, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kano.
He added that preparation for production to resume was at an advanced stage.
Kaita said that the company had to suspend production, when most of the tomato farms in about five states were affected by a pest, which destroyed all the tomato species.
“We expect that tomato farmers would have produced enough for the company to process, hence our decision to resume production in February,’’ he said.
According to him, many tomato farmers at the Kadawa, Kura, Garun-Malam and Hadeja-Jama’are irrigation sites are expected to produce enough for the company to process.
“We deliberately decided to resume production in February because we don’t want to create scarcity of the commodity.
“We want to make sure that there is enough to process so that its price will not go up,” Kaita said.
He said that the company which had the capacity to process 40 trucks or 1,200 tonnes of fresh tomatoes per day, would soon begin recruitment of additional staff.
“All our trained staff are still with us and we are paying them salary but if there is need to recruit additional staff, we will do so to ensure effective service delivery,’’ he said .
NAN recalls that a pest popularly known as “Tuta Absoluta’’ destroyed tomato farms in Kano, Jigawa, Plateau, Katsina and Kaduna states.
Source: http://www.ajayiwrites.com/2017/01/dangote-tomato-factory-reopens-february.html / That's smart. Introduce Tuta Absoluta to kill off competitors. Then sell GMO seeds to farmers.
