/ Only those with informal education can afford to marry at that age. They get settled by their masters and start building their livelihood early
or
those with formal education but from rich families.
But for the dude that goes to the university for 4 years (add 2 more years for strikes), NYSC, then job and try to settle down, it should be at 30+.
There is no reason a lady who intends to get married should be single at 28. The 22-26 age range is optimum. \ |

spyder880: Thank you Kcinho for your contribution. If I am to evaluate my contribution in shares, it will probably run into about 3 shares, giving that my contribution will be mainly the "leg work" aspect of the work, which is usually very tedious. I have already spent some money looking for lands, working with lawyers and agents, and making a lot of preparations behind the scenes.
But in my business model, I look at doing things to set the business rolling, so I can take a smaller profit to make sure we set out smoothly. What I will be offering is the buying of the land, preparations, actual construction and taking care of the environment till the house is sold. Both the technical and financial management, if I am doing all these for a client, I cannot do all for N3 million naira.
My asking for 15% is to make sure we start off first, we may have to review this in consequent cycles. You have to be careful here. Your valuation is 3 shares (N3m) for the logistics, etc. giving Tigerken 15% of the profit. There will be legal troubles ahead for Tigerken. Advice: If you need N20m for a project, that will be 20 shares. You as an investor can buy as many shares as you want. Let's say 3 shares. Then others can buy into the remaining 17 shares. So in terms of sharing the profit, you can only get ((3/20)*profit ) as your return on investment. But TigerKen as a company will retain x% of the total profit for logistics, etc. In other words, you need to separate yourself as an investor from Tigerken as a company. This is where accountability and transparency come into play. Is Tigerken a limited liability company or a sole proprietorship? Breaking it down in a layman's perspective: Investment: N20m (20 shares) Sales: N25m ================== Profit: N5m Tigerken's charges: x% of N5m Investors: ( # of shares ÷ 20) * (N5m - Tigerken's charges) __________________________________________ Bottomline: Talk to an experienced investment lawyer. |

nurey: 1. custom documents fully stamped and check whether all things correspond like name and model of car, VIN and all payments were made. Mostly like 6 or more papers could be photocopy if multiple cars were cleared by one dealer but make sure it is a clear crisp document not faded crap and don't take the nobody will ask you for customer paper crap, it could spell doom or stolen vehicle.
2. CMR (computerized motor registration) original copy
3. Current insurance (original copy)
4. Vehicle licence (original copy)
5. Road worthiness certificate (original copy)
6. Plate number allocation (original copy)
7. Original proof of ownership fully stamped
8. You will collect two printed and signed documents a. Change of ownership document b. Receipt of purchase from previous owner
There are some other documents you may need like 1. Tinted permit doc 2. police report/doc of change of ownership/plate number/engine number (which we call vin)
make sure you see the change of ownership letter given to the buyer duly signed when he first bought it as Nigerian used except the car was bought as tokunbo then you may not need this.
Once the car doesn't have custom doc except it's a beetle and the documents have expired years ago, I suggest you stay away from such ride. /. This is how Nigeria complicates even the smallest of endeavours. \ |

dilini: Sometimes in life things happen for a reason. According the book of Eccl chap. 3 where it says everything happens for a reason I was just unhappy when at my workplace my superior almost frustrated the life out of me. I don't know why she was like that though I was new at that time. It was an admin role and I was employed by her to work as her PA/Admin Assistant to the company. I had my office to myself and I gave my ALL to both the company and to her but the issues were there evidently submerging with the flow of duties at the office. I guess her personal, family issues were affecting her job but alas!, I was wrong!
It was later in the course of my probatory period I learnt a friend of the company has been pressuring her/the management to pull me off the job and allow his daughter take up my role at the office due to their long working relationship. I was hinted of this 'secret' by one of the top management staff and it broke my heart. The zeal I put in into the job somehow disappeared because I was seeing the signs. My boss was just complaining of EVERYTHING I do and always reminded me of the probatory job agreement I signed before taking up the job thereby filling my heart with fear and anxiety. I kept on praying.
Fast-forward to Dec. 11th I came to the office as usual prepared for the working day ahead only for my bosslady barged into my office and asked that I see her in her office. I thought it was the normal day work rountine of telling me what I will be doing for her only for her to tell me to hand over EVERYTHING in my possession, everything which belong to the company. I was dumbfounded at first but somehow I try to mutter a word or two which was incoherent to decipher. My heart was beating fast. I didnt say anything thereafter because pleading to her for what I didnt know about will fall on deaf ears.
I went back to my office and tidied up everything, called the office assistant/cleaner and handed everything to him and took my leave. I was crying inside of me, alot was going through my mind. It was as if my world came crashing. How do I explain to my folks what happenned and I hate playing the pity-party.
I came back the next day and handed over my resignation letter thanking them for the time spent and all. Right now, my hopes are hinged on God for another opportunity, just been praying I get a new job the soonest as a vindication for my undeserved ouster from my former place of work.
My experience spans over 7years working as an admin personnel and I won't mind learning on a new role as I am a fast learner and can multi-task and work with or without supervision. The details of my cognate experience(s) are contained in my CV attached therein with this post.
Thanks again. MY ADVICE to all employees: Rule 1: Don't get very comfortable in any job. You are just a number and very expendable. If you die, the company will continue to exist. Rule 2: Treat every paycheck as the last one. It will help you plan better ahead. People who just lost their jobs do not go the clubs to make it rain. They conserve. So should you. Rule 3: Loop |

Knowledge9000: I was in Kaduna, you should have seen the lines at the ATM machines, and within 3hrs, the money was finished and people almost broke the machines in anger. Anarchy is brewing in this country and the government visavis banks are foolishly making things worse by.....PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM TAKING THEIR OWN MONEY....THEIR OWN MONEY NOT STIPENDS! Let me tell you something this stubborn, heartless government...you can destroy the economy as much as you want, but if you dare try to prevent people from accessing their hard earned money under the hardship you have inflicted on us in this country, that's a call for anarchy. This is not APC or PDP, people are angry. This is just common sense! There is no doubt there is order from above to banks to limit cash withdrawals for liquidity reasons, if not...WHY IS THIS HAPPENING NOW? This has never happened before. We see this only happening in countries with failed economies as was seen in Greece where the government imposed austerity measures and limited cash withdrawals to control liquidity and reserve. / The money in the bank belongs to the bank. The payment slip is an I.O.U which a depositor hopes the bank will honour. If depositors show up to withdraw money but the gate is locked and manned by fierce-looking MOPOL and military men, it means that the bank has pulled MMM on depositors. That is to say, bye to your money. Looking at the chaos, do you think NDIC will step up when it happens? Dream on! \ |

gemale: Dey weren't insured. Banking then wasn't as regulated as it is nw. U r tlkn abt d days b4 d 25 billion recapitalization criterion was enforced by CBN. / Don't forget that banks operate on Fractional Reserve banking. That is why banks place limit on withdrawals. To withdraw a certain amount from the bank, a depositor will need to give advance notice to the bank because the funds have to be put together.
And when a bank collapses, there is a hierarchy followed in settlement. The regular customers may have to wait a lifetime to get that NDIC insurance payment. Legally, banks are not mandated to give advance notice before collapsing. Some things look good on papers. What is pension plan in Nigeria? It is an insurance against old age. Sort of. Right? Well, pensioners have learned that it is not always as rosy as it appears on papers. The same goes for a systemic collapse of the banking industry.
Don't forget that banks are loaning out money that they don't have. A bank that has N1000 in its account can write a loan for N10,000. Once you understand how banks work, you will learn how to secure your investments. Nigerians call them serial debtors, but those Nigerian billionaires that owe billions to the banks and their lawyers understand the concept of banking better than the average Joe depositor out there.
For example, after Hurricane Katrina in Florida, insurance companies refused to pay compensation to victims because they don't have enough money to cover the costs. When pushed, they filed for bankcruptcy and that was the end. US Fed. Reserve had to step in and crank up the money-printing machine. Remarkably, Nigeria does not have that luxury because she does not print her own currency unlike US Fed. Reserve that can crank up the printing machine any time.

Our senators pockets #30million monthly doing nothing, while those in charge or involved in saving human life are underpayed and still owed. Nigeria as a country has no or misplaced priorities, FOR A WISE LEADER THE WELFARE AND SECURITY OF HER CITIZEN SHOULD BE HER TOPMOST PRIORITY, BUT HERE IN AFRICAN OR NIGERIA THE REVERSE IS THE CASE, KEEP PRAYING AND DON'T GIVE UP ON NIGERIA. // That is because it takes 6 years to be a doctor in Nigeria while it takes at least 10 years and student loans overhead of $300k to be a physician in USA. Add premium of malpractice insurance in the highly litigious American society, then the salaries you quote become relative. What you put in is what you get out. Moving on....I don't understand the issue of not paying people their salaries as at when due. The sad part is that the workers continue working until the arrears get to 6 months or more. One month of nonpayment should be enough to down tools. \ |
