LekinsRibirth: I'm currently on a crossroad and I really need your cordial insights on this issue. I graduated two years ago and I'm currently 25years old and God has been extremely so good to me. I was recently able to secure a job in a multinational firm and I receive a very good pay. I've been able to put a lot of things in order and I feel I'm ready to settle down. I proposed marriage to my girlfriend who is currently 23 and she accepted. our families have been friends even before we were born. myself and her grew up together and we are literally best friends( we've officially been dating for the past 4years). I've stated my intentions to my parents and hers but they both disagreed .They said we're too young to start a family and we should wait for a minimum of 4 to 5 years . I'll be travelling out of the country next year with my company to start an off-shore business unit and I planned to get married to her by December and take her along with me. I really don't know what to do as my family has become my enemy in this issue. They threatened not to give me their blessings and never to accept money from me if I go ahead with my plans. / Do it. Your parents are stuck in the 19th century. If you are blessed, at 50 your first born will be 24. What other joy can you ask of God? Some people wait till 40 to get married and by the time their children graduates from university, they will be old and senile. Under 20 is too young. Above 21, you are good to go. If you believe that two of you are made for each other, why the unnecessary delay? \ |

Things are so difficult in Nigeria that it will be very difficult to find true love. Everyone is looking for an opportunity to abandon the country. Desperate ladies + harsh economy == your good intention may end up a disaster.

seizethaBae: I don't even know where to start or how to explain what my problem is, hopefully i get lucky for the 'problem' to be 'diagnosed'. I'm a 27yrs old lady, finished university very very early and i've been extremely lucky with almost everything in life, but to get a suitor and settle down na palava. Friends/family members keep saying I'm too choosy or not serious.
Honestly, I AM NOT choosy. When the one thing i fast/pray for is for God to link me with the bone of my bone very soon, I even gave up my travelling plans in order to increase my chances of finding a future patner (i know you can meet ur patner anywhere, but na just to shut up people wey don tink say i no dey serious), a close friend even suggested i pend my 'work-from-home business', look for job so i can be leaving the house, and i got lucky within a month or two of dusting my CV i got a fantastic high paid job with no connection (honestly i've always been so lucky when i ask God for anything but i have no idea why he is delaying this). I just dont know how to explain it, the ones i like doesnt like me and the ones i dont have single feelings for will do anything to wife me. I'm not desperate or something, i just want to reach out if I'm the only one having this problem.
There was even a time i made up my mind to accept an ex proposal even tho i have no single feeling for him, i kept hoping/fasting/praying for a miracle to happen so i can at least like him (even if its 20%) bcus hes just too PERFECT, but it didn't just happen. My type of man doesnt need to be extremely rich, tall, handsome like most ladies dream man. He should just be neat, God fearing and have something upstairs biko (i love intelligent guys). Back to the main reason why i created this post; Married women/mature lady out there, has this ever happen to you? I really envy people that love their partners and they are loved back equally. Married women, please, I'm waiting to hear from you.
And for most people that will think I'm looking for a rich guy, believe me i once met a guy that was willing to sponsor my M.Sc in UK if i can be his Mrs, but i will never engage in anything that will bring curse on my head. So my problem is not even money. I'm so sick and tired WILL YOU MARRY ME? |

Fervante: China is a communist country like Russia where the government decide what is right or wrong based on their perspective and plan, it does not mean that all their judgement is right for the rest of the world. What works for them may not necessarily work for others. When facebook was trending in every other part of the world China resisted it, don't get it twisted everything in life has positive and negative fields it depends on application. Nigeria is running a democracy and a capitalistic economy, the CBN do not have the power to ban a peer-to-peer transaction which is what MMM community is. The people retain the right of association! Your problem is comprehension. Do a research on Sergei Mavrodi. Everything you wrote up there is a response to the hypothetical part of my opinion that started with "if CBN..." while failing to address the main concerns that I raised. Meanwhile don't forget that your non-communist country woke up one day to ban with immediate effect cash deposits to dormicilary accounts, increase in fuel price, just to mention a few instances. \ |

adindril7: Hey Guys,
Im planning to build a shopping center on one acre of land and have no idea of how many shops can be built on it or what the structures would be, im pretty open to any ideas.
I was referred to a building contractor by a friend.. He gave me these pictures and he said he could be able to build this for 120Million naira ( First two pictures) [img][/img][img][/img]
During the course of our discussion, he also said he could be able to build 9 shops and 1 eatry on the site for 36 Million Naira.
He now sent me the plans of what he's proposing.
I also contacted another reputable construction company, they said they could be able to build 10 - 13 shops on the same land for between 65M - 85M, they've already done some projects for me which im impressed with.
Now im confused, i would be saving a huge amount of money if the building contractor handles it because what he's proposing is way lesser than the big construction company, but im a little bit concerned if he's only trying to scam me as i've never dealt with him before.
I dont know how to attach photos to this site, but the first and second pictures are what he said he could build for 100 Million naira.. The Third and fourth pictures are what he said he can build for 36 Million naira, please who do you think i should trust with this project. Im a Nigerian in abroad, i need to make a decision this week or next. / I doubt if you have a clear vision/idea of what you are getting into. I can see you abandoning this project halfway. You will need a team of building experts, contractors and subcontractors to pull this off. N100m will not be enough. You will be better off building a strip mall or a shopping plaza. \ |

The fact is that it is not enforceable. The benefits are as the good as the paper they are written on. This is a wake up call to the ones that still have jobs. Every day you go to work, pretend that it is your last day and live accordingly. Things are going to get worse. The President cannot get Nigeria out of recession. There has to be an economic team including CBN chairman, Minister of Finance and others. But the President has to lead which Buhari is not doing. / There is always something good out of a bad situation.
In this era, farmers will become overnight millionaires.
The fellows sitting in air-conditioned offices will soon find out that their salaries cannot sustain a family for a month.
What a role reversal!
What Nigeria is going through now is normal. After prolonged period of irrational exuberance, recession usually steps in to rebalance the economy. In 2008, the best of the best economists in US couldn't see it coming. It hit hard and people lost their houses while some committed suicide. In 2008, Nigeria had enough savings adjusted for inflation to cushion the effects. Currently, Venezuela like Nigeria blew their savings and is not faring any better. Saudi Arabia cut the benefits of their officials last week and are heavily divesting from oil. But Nigeria continues to pay jumbo salaries to her recalcitrant officials. Go figure!

/ Buhari is making a mistake. He forgets that he is dealing with Nigerians-- people that hate the truth and hate to accept responsibilities for any action.
Since Independence, every atrocity by successive government had always been conveniently swept under the proverbial carpet. Nigerians feel better living in denial and beckoning on God to lavitate down from heaven to take control of their lives.
Meanwhile, it is not enough to blame the incompetent Jonathan. Buhari should show that he is capable of correcting the mistakes of the past. Regrettably, he seems equally incompetent and clueless as Jonathan. Then one wonders how in a country parading itself as the brain of Africa, they managed to present two equally bad fellows as the contestants for such an important position as the President. One would think that in a dire situation as this, the legislature will step in to assist in proffering solutions. But in Nigeria that will be raising the bar of expectations higher.
Like they say, every country deserves the leadership she gets. \ |

Just to reiterate, any contract staff or any employee in Nigeria that decides to live off of one source of income deserves what comes his/her way. Instead of "forming" phantom big boy/girl, save and start something to fall back on by the side.
But people live for the moment and act all surprised when the inevitable happens. NLC is useless. So employers can get away with any shenanigan. He who fails to plan; plans to fail.
Stop living it up when you are an employee. You are just a number and very expendable. But some people like to learn the hard way. \ |

/ Submission is counterproductive. Everyone is not intelligent to make good decisions. Even intelligent ones have their off days.
Respect matters more. A wife who respectfully disagrees with the husband will have a blissful marriage. Some decision taken by some wives had saved some men physically, psychologically and financially.
Some men have overbloated ego that if unchecked could lead the family to perdition. And that's when the wisdom of a good woman is necessary. If a husband turns out to be an alcoholic or drug addict (people do change), why would a woman submit to such a man? Just because he is a man?
Some people are busy looking for rules and regulations to get through life but in the process forget the most important thing--common sense. / |

Do people really believe in witches and wizards?why do we give so much powers to none existence things?why are we Africans still shackled in the Caveman's mentality? / Have you ever seen God? Yet you believe. The only thing I see wrong here is the violence. Oyibo people have special school for "gifted" children and harness their energy for scientific and financial gains. Africans burn their gifted children and remain in poverty. They turn around and buy products engineered by oyibo gifted children. Of course when Africans gleefully join oyibo to announce that someone is an economic/mathematic/financial/scientific wizard, they don't fully comprehend the impact of the word "wizard". An African will go to an altar to kiss the bone of a saint. When the same African sees someone from a shrine, they will term it barbaric. White people totally brainwashed Black people.
