The purpose of the prayer request is also important. God is a spirit and he knows the intent of our heart.

There are a lot more reasons why prayer don't get answered by God. To start off on th right path of getting your prayers answered, start studying th word of God daily (this is fellowship with God). Listen to all he asks us to do and not to do and amend your life accordingly. Studying the word of God will help cleanse and make your spirit stronger and your prayer more potent.

yes, Atheists usually will avoid confrontations with religious people because they are matured enough to understand that it's counterproductive to try to attack people beliefs. I use to be an atheist, and most time when Christian evangelists come to me to spread their gospel, I usually do not argue with them because I don't want them to feel bad. I eventually tell them that I don't believe in God when they are becoming too persistent in their follow up. Alot of times, many of them do not follow up

There are technologies today that can redirect astroids, now scientist having known that the earth was as a result of a big bang should have smashed two astroid (bang) and then move over to one of the pieces resulting from the bang to live in. This would have substanciated their claim on the formation of the earth.
