I am writing to report the physical and emotional abuse to a girl child as a result of punishment meted out to her by her teachers at school. Please see attached pictures.

She was made to strip off her shorts and canned on her bare buttocks and slapped severely by the principal and 5 other teachers because she returned the slap on her face from the head girl who slapped her first. The head girl then reported to the school authorities who in turn physically battered her and then made her cut grass for 4 hours under the sun.

Her name is Ogechi Blessing, she is 14 years old and a SS2 Pupil of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School at Bariga in Lagos State. This incident occurred on the 16th of March 2016. The perpetrators of this crime are

a. Mrs. C. O Coker (School Principal) slapped her severally
b. Mr. Bello (Maths Teacher), canned her and slapped her severally
c. Mr. Bakare (Economics Teacher) slapped her severally
d. Mrs. Tejumaye (English Teacher) slapped her severally
e. Mrs Omoge (Civic Education Teacher) slapped her severally
f. Mrs. Balogun (Vice Principal) slapped her severally

The Principal has refused to honor the request from the police officers at Bariga Police Station but instead brought soldiers to intimidate the officers investigating the case.

She has missed out on writing 4 exams since then.
Justice needs to be done for this inhumane act against the girl child.

If this is true, they need to be arrested immediately , no human being will do this to my kid and go unpunished that will never happen.

The Muhammadu Buhari administration, through the Bank of Industry, on Thursday formally launched a N10 billion Youths Entrepreneurship Support (YES) project to empower youth with loans to start businesses.
Speaking at the launch of the project in Abuja, the Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, said his ministry would partner all agencies of government to create new jobs.
He said more than 40 per cent of Nigerian graduates had no jobs and that an average of eight million Nigerians entered the job market annually.
The minister said that the ‘YES’ project of BoI was part of the Federal Government’s youth employment scheme, saying that about 36,000 jobs would be created annually through ‘YES’.
He appealed to prospective beneficiaries to repay the loans for the success and sustenance of the project.
Waheed Olagunju, the acting Managing Director of BoI, said that a participant under the scheme could access up to N10 million loan with single digit interest rate and repayable over three to five years.
He said that an applicant must present NYSC or higher education certificate as collateral to qualify for the loan with two external guarantors.


Mr. Olagunju said that the bank was partnering 11 consultants across the country for the first phase of the project.
Afolabi Imokhuede, a Special Assistant to the Vice President, said job creation was at the heart of the current administration.
He said that government intended to create 3.5 million jobs in the next three years, adding that the ‘YES’ project was one of the programmes.
Mr. Imokhuede advised participants to take the ‘YES’ seriously as online courses were now popular means of job creation world wide.
Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor ok Kaduna State, said that the state was partnering with BoI on job creation.
He said that the state had been able to take controlling shares in Peugeot Automobile Nigeria with the assistance of BoI.

This is a good idea but my problem is this, Why will they always make it hard for common people, why two guarantors? This is another way of compensating the rich and the connected. Tell me who will be in his/her right mind to go and guarantee a loan for someone who is starting up a new business, majority of them don't even have someone who will be willing to sign a loan knowing fully well that they will be accountable for this loan if there was a default on this loans. Here in America where i live, some of this programs they do it as a grant, but i know my country don't have money like America, Why not expend YOU WIN for graduates because that program was designed for a common person and it was working well. Just allow them to use their universities "CERTIFICATES" as collateral in that way it will make it easy and also it will give them that opportunity to work hard in repayment of the loan . Please make it easy for them just allow them to come with their Certificates and a good business plan and let BOI take it from there by monitoring and organizing lectures in the best business practices which will enable them to grow their businesses.

That is good, they should have done this at the beginning of this program. The program was meant for Imo indigenes i don't see anything wrong with it, here in America they have what they called in state tuition that means, if you live and pay your taxes in a particular state and you or your kids are in one of state owned universities you pay less tuition and if you come from another state your tuition is higher .

Newspaper vendors in Aba, Abia State, are counting their losses following the confiscation of their wares by soldiers yesterday.

The Nation gathered that the confiscated papers were both unsold and new editions of New Republic, Vesym, Freedom Journal and Authority.

Sources said the soldiers, believed to have come from 144 Battalion, which is under Ohafia 14 Brigade, stormed St. Michael’s Road at about 7am, in two Hilux vans and seized the papers bearing Biafra reports.

After attempts at arresting distributors and publishers failed, the soldiers packed the unsold and current editions of the papers and left.

A vendor said: “At about some minutes past seven, soldiers in two Hilux vans arrived with one of the vendors that they picked along Mosque, asking him to point at the person who gave him the paper. But the vendor could not, because the person who gave him the paper had gone.

“They asked to know the publishers or suppliers but got no response. Then they confiscated New Republic, Vesym, Freedom Journal and some copies of The Authority, which carried Biafra stories. “We are yet to be told the reason for the confiscation, but the truth is that we have lost money as many readers were disappointed.”

A publisher, who pleaded for anonymity, condemned the action of the soldiers. He said they were overstepping their bounds and vowed that “attempts by the military to gag the press will fail. We are publishing reports about Biafra like other national dailies do. Let them close down all the media houses because they are carrying Biafra stories, after all, we are not the only ones publishing stories on Biafra.”

Media Officer of the 144 Brigade, Major Sydney Mbanefo could not be reached for comments but a source at 144 Battalion confirmed the seizure, saying it was due to the hate and inciting reports allegedly being published by the papers.

The source added that they were on the trail of the publishers and suppliers with the aim of nipping circulation of such inciting materials. He warned vendors to desist from selling such publication.

A Non-Governmental Organisation and Civil Rights group, Foundation for Environmental Rights Advocacy and Development, in a statement yesterday condemned the action. It described it as anti-democracy.

The statement by Comrades Nelson Nwafor and Emmanuel Acha said soldiers have no right to confiscate newspapers, no matter what is published, except on the orders of a competent court. It called on the Chief of Army Staff to call the soldiers to order before they take laws into their hands.

You can't blame her for the looting that education ministry or NSA for instance, it was not her legal obligations to supervise other ministries that is why we have the auditors. Our problem in Nigeria is we lack continuity in as much as every government bring with it a new governing teams and ideas it is good for a new government to continue with policies that was working well with last administration . I live here in America George bush as American president was bad but still Obama left some of his policies because they where working well .. If this present minister of finance in Nigeria will go back to some of madam Ngozi's policies believe you me Nigeria will have a good policy direction because right now Nigeria has no financial policy direction and that is why our country is in comatose. I'm not in anyway defending GEJ administration i have always see GEJ as a weak president he was not a strong leader in any ramification but i have no doubt and i have argued with friends that GEJ's policies if a strong leader will be in position to implement it, to be honest Nigeria as country will be in good shape..

Broke Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are willing to pay a new foreign coach $50,000 a month, which is double what former coaches Stephen Keshi and Sunday Oliseh were paid.

The NFF have already been sounding out several candidates for the top coaching post.

Consider an innocent man who invested 7 years of his life in the university only for your to cut short his life like that because of your carelessness. Now you don't want to take consequences for your action because of the condition of the prison. I ask, do you know the condition of where this man is today? From my observation of this lady, she has not learnt her lesson. She has refused to lie low and continue to behave in the public as if "noting spoil". Let her go and serve it.

This is not about anything but justice. The family deserves justive. The state deserves justice. Let this serve as deterrent to others who think they can do anything and get away with it. Just like we are clamouring for the prosecution of Pastor TB Joshua, we are also clamouring that justice should be done in the case of Ibinabo and the State. The bloated size of governments at different levels of Nigeria’s political system is unsustainable, and the country urgently needs restructuring to make any appreciable development, the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, said Thursday.
Mr. Sanusi, who was speaking at the inaugural lecture and launching of a N250 million endowment fund for the Oba Sikiru Adetona Professorial Chair in Governance, Department of Political Science, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, said it should be obvious to everyone that the country can no longer afford to maintain the number of political office holders in the country, especially in the face of current economic downturn.
“If you really reflect on the problems of this country, it seems to turn common sense on its head,” he said.
“You sometimes wonder if anyone needs to tell any group of people that if you are a poor country, you do not need 36 governors, 36 deputy governors, with members of house of assembly, commissioners and advisers, Special assistants, a president, a vice president, 36 ministers, special advisers, federal legislature and so on.
“Simple arithmetic will tell you that if you have that structure, you are first of all doomed to spending 80 or 90 per cent of everything you earn maintaining public officers. It is really common sense but it seems to be a problem for us to understand it,” he added.
The emir called for a reform of the country’s political system to encourage a lean government to save resources for projects that benefit the people.
“If you don’t free up the resources and put them up for capital projects, you are laying the foundation of what we are seeing today. We need to have structural reform.


“Kano State today is much smaller than Kano emirate, because there are two other emirates in Dutse and Ringim which were carved out from what was the Kano emirate just to create a new state. There are two governors in Kano and Jigawa, two deputy governors, maybe 40 members of the House of Assembly, 40 commissioners and advisers, 70 local governments, chairman and councillors but for nine years, Governor Audu Bako with nine commissioners, one governors and nine commissioner managed the entire territory and they were doing much better services than we are doing now. Is it not time to face reality?”

Also, the guest speaker of the lecture, Akin Mabogunje, a professor of urban and regional development, while delivering a lecture titled: “Issues and Challenges of Governance in Nigeria”, said the abundance of free oil money has created a culture of imprudent spending by successive governments.
He said this free money which he described with the pidgin English term “awuff”, encouraged laziness and corruption in the polity.
“[Awuff] is a word used commonly in pidgin English to signify “free” money or unearned income which is not the product of a person’s labour and therefore can be squandered or spent imprudently,” he explained.
“In applying it to governance, it is meant to describe a situation in which fiscal resources accrues to government not from tax revenue assiduously and diligently collected from citizens but from royalties and rent from the exploitation of mineral resources particularly petroleum which can therefore be squandered, spent imprudently or unaccountably or simply misappropriated into personal accounts.”
He said instead of the government to invest the oil windfall of the 1970s, it declared a bazaar for civil servants who spent the money on expensive household items.
He explained that the “awuff” mentality festered and led to a culture of corruption and lack of accountability, fest in the public sector but later spreading to every part of our national life.

I agreed with him totally that Nigeria need total restructuring , that was why i put up some suggestions on this forum titled "THE BEST WAY GOING FORWARD FOR NIGERIA" months back . On that write up i outlined some ideas i maybe wrong but i think it will be good for our country .





1) Let divide Nigeria into six regions .
2) Allow regionalism and resources control where the six regions will take 60% and the federal 40%.
3) consolidate the ministries to six ministries, both in the regions and federal levels.
4) Dissolve either the senate or the house representative.
5) Introduce two party systems.
6) From each party allow them to select one young and brilliant men/women not our old recycled politicians from each region that will stand for their parties for an election every six years.
7) After the election, the party that win, will form a government with the six individuals that was appointed from each region, and will be given each portfolio as ministers .
Now every year from the six ministers one will be appointed as the president, to be rotate every year for six years in that way all region will produce a president.
9) Let this to be replicated to regional level and do away with local government
10) To form the parliament or legislature whatever name you want to use, each region to be divided into six zones, for each zone to elect a legislature which will represent their zone in the federal level , that will bring the number to thirty six.
11) The government have to be designed to be unattractive for politicians who their main purpose of going into politics is to steal , By doing so that will enable Nigerians elect brilliant men/women who have Nigerian at hart. Now how do you make government to be unattractive, 1. Allowance=There will be no housing, car, furniture, clothing allowance, the only allowance will be health insurance and your salary, housing, car will be provided just bring whatever you want to bring from your housing and after six years take your personal belongs things you bought with your own money and go. 2 No overseas hospital visit with Nigeria money.3 No housing of any kind to our legislators we will pay them as civil servant and will be provide securities only in their offices or on government duties.
I honestly believe if we can looking into this suggestions this will be what Nigeria need at this critical time in our history. Make changes if there is a need to do so.

Ideas floated during a campaign does not necessarily mean policy.
It gives you a window into the campaign's priorities and gauge their engagement.
While some are realistic, others are not . A direct welfare program is destined to fail because we simply lack the mechanism and institutions to make them succeed. Starting from a database of who is unemployed to ghost recipients . Even Countries with advanced institutions have welfare policies that are plagued by fraud.
Also in a country with so many people with a sense of entitlement and very few taxpayers, you can expect civil disobedience if the government ever became incapable of paying the money after starting the program.

I'm not PDP nor APC but if all you just explained was already known to APC why going ahead with the promise, why deceive the electorate .

No one in his/her right mind will conclude that this is a murder or suicide this is just a picture and is unprofessional to just use only a picture to conclude an investigation, forensic text or analysis has to be carried out. This picture will not tell the trajectory of the bullet , the mount of gunshot residues on the hand and the bullet wound and the ballistic analysis of the gun has to be done . The only way you can just determine if it is a murder or suicide is if there is an eye witness ..
