I know someone that was called by the Group CEO of a very popular oil company in Nigeria to show up at his residence by 11pm for an interview. The interview lasted till 3am. The guy as offered the job, which is the CEO of one of the Group's subsidiaries. The guy was a staff before. |
ogtavia: I for ask oh..do dey pay them in precious stones..wats so special that they have to go through this meaningless routine is success in this routine a gurantee for professional competence..Because there is no way they can know your competence. After all, they don't know you before. |

FreeGlobe: haba my highly respected mod. advocate was just using that picture as a background for the post he posted, he never said or knew it belonged to a NLander and he never used it with the intention to inflict pain on anyone, please do not be weighed down by the hypocritical emotions of the agitators. Please temper justice with mercy and dont give these hawks the opportunity to turn all their venoms on only me, the last of a sensible dying breed. thank you in anticipationLol. Ban reduced to 10 hours. |
I won't call this an interview but a chat, just meeting the COO as a matter of formality having crossed all interview stages. We were busy discussing informal matters. Women like ofofo sha. We completely went off-topic, asking about my mum, my dad, my sisters, what they do etc I got the job sha. That was 2008. |
I won't call it unconventional, but when I entered Atedo Peterside(then MD of IBTC)'s office in 2006 for final interview in 2006, he was on phone discussing Chelsea's match the weekend before. Got the job but didn't take it. |
duality: sounds like saharaNa Sahara dey do all these kind effizzy. Their effizy too much. Well, all the interviews I have attended were conventional, structured ones. From Shell to Total to Seven Energy to Oando. |
Advocate666 has been sent on 48 hours course for spamming this topic with illegitimately gotten, albeit beautiful (lol), face of another forum member. Let other trouble makers here present also be warned else they will be sent to NIPSS Kuru for permanent course. |

Cheddarking, nice interview. Can't believe you joined NL this year. Looks like you've been around for ages. |
I'm getting to work late these days. Leave by my usual 6.30 - 6.45am, and get to work 8.15. Before, even if I leave by 7, with Okada, I get to my VI office before 8. Now forced to driving to work. I hate driving in traffic. Not a few times I have parked on my way out and hopped okada, to go pick the car there on my way back home. |
Traffic situation has worsened very markedly. It's tempting me to recant my endorsement of teh okada ban. |
We have too many options in forward: 1, Ameobi 2, Martins 3, Ideye 4, Musa 5, Moses 6, Emenike 7, Ejike 8, Ik Uche 9, Osaze And maximum of 6 will make it to Nations. I see major casualty. Not to talk of others that are also doing fine but may not make the team, like: 10, Uche Nwofor 11, Ekhigo Ehiosun 12, Uche Kalu 13, Kalu Uche 14, Yakubu sef |

Mike Adenuga, I think. |
My best teachers in the primary school were Ghanaians. Mr Samuel, Mr Asiedu, Mr James. Oh, memories, that was early to mid nineties in Kwara state. |

davies123: I belief u r talking about Multi-billionairs cos almost everybody is a multimillionair in nigeriaYou're thinking in Naira, Forbes is talking in Dollars |
As the Tax Accountant for my company, I handle this for my company. It is payable to Local Government Council. On personal level, I have never paid. On my way to Kwara at Ogun state during the last sallah, they mounted roadblock for that purpose but I sped past them. |
Knew 7 of them before. I don't know why they named Dele Fajemirokun, Arthur Eze, Ade Ojo 'millionaires you've probably never heard of' when we have known Dele Fajemirokun for more than 15 years and Arthur Eze even longer |
This is a straight fight between Drogba and Katongo. Demba Ba could have come 3rd but for Senegal's woeful 2012. Yaya Toure to emerge 3rd. Decent list, reflective of Top 10 African players, only that Papiss Cisse also did enough to be right there in Top 10. |
Today? Nothing, just kick-started the thing and zoomed off to bus stop, where my wife took over and drove back home, while I joined commercial to office(cos of traffic) Last week, spent close to 50k fixing the shafts that got damaged. |
Who? My mother What? Success |
In some companies, contract job is practically permananent job, the only difference is pay and other entitlement. Oando, Shell are examples I know. I know people that have been in contract positions in these companies for more than 5 years. In such companies, I would advise anyone to take contract job of 80k over a 40k permanent job. But for a contract job of fixed period, and less than 2 years, would advice permanent job of 40k. But if more than 2 years, abeg take it over permanent jare. Also, the reputation of the company that offers you contract position matters. Contract experience in a good company can be stepping stone to better offers, as my current company are currently poaching contract staff in Shell, Total E&P and giving them permanent positions and offering them better pay. |
Thank God American politics is not Nigerian politics where this kind of religious sentiments and superstitions have bearing on electoral outcome. |
Any DSTV channel showing this? |
obadiah777: college dropoutsWhy not also drop out and see what you would become? For every Bill Gates, there are 1 million drop-outs who didn't make it. And these guys did not drop out because they were dullards, they did so for other reasons. I pity those blockheads that use that as excuse. Saying 'shebi Dangote no go school, shebi na 3rd class Wole Soyinka get' |
So Falcons have lost/drawn 7 matches in AWC? I'm disappointed. Thot we've only lost 1 game, to Equitorial Guinea. |
Abbey2sam: @op, the truth is that bankersYes, especially for regular (commercial) bankers. |
Saintsquare: Male bankers have a specific prestige that makes them appear like a millionaire and ladies have this mind set that 80% male bankers are rich.So whenever a male banker turn down any demand from a lady,he s stingy.Correct. When I told someone I can never work in a bank, he looked down on me as if I was under spell. There is this very wrong notion that young bankers are usually the richest guys, especially during the banking boom of 2004-2008, and most of these young folks also capitalized on that wrong impression to mess around with these susceptible girls. |
