Phones › Re: White Man Who Gave His Phone To A Black Looking At His Phone, Goes Viral by JastSiryin(m): 4:33pm On Aug 13, 2018 |
jennifermahan: With the number of videos depicting racism going viral, it's refreshing to see this video that shows a white man treating a black kid, who he knows from nowhere, kindly.
In a video which is trending on social media, a white man on a bus is seen making use of his phone when a little boy sitting beside him stretches his neck to look at the phone. This goes on for quite a while and when the man notices the boy's attention on his phone, he hands the phone over to the boy to play with.
Social media users have praised the man for his kindness, with some saying they wouldn't have been so gracious were they in the man's shoes.
Watch the video below.

https://www.made4naija.com/2018/08/white-man-goes-viral-for-what-he-did-when-he-noticed-a-black-kid-peering-into-his-phone/ Although it is nice to see, I don't see anything special nor surprising about it. It's what nice people do, whether white or black, unless of course you think most white people are racist which is quite biased in itself. |

einsteine: As someone who has read hundreds of literary works and written some, I can tell you that literature is practically useless for the development of a nation. Compare the effect of Albert Einstein, Michael Faraday, James Clark Maxwell and Isaac Newton on the development of the world to that of Shakespeare, Dickens, Bach and Raphael.
Tell me the latter people I mentioned were as relevant to the state of development of the world as the former.
No, tell me with a straight face.
Lee Kuan Yew once said one of the greatest surprises he got when he came to Africa was that Kwame Nkrumah was proud of a 25 year old First Class honours holder in Classics who became Ghana's youngest Vice Chancellor. Lee Juan Yew wondered "Why does an agrarian country that needs development have it's best and brightest studying classics (Latin and Greek)? "
Art and Entertainment are luxuries. It's both strange and fascinating that someone of your standing would hold an opposing view towards literary works. No one can dispute the leading role of science and tech in nation building, but to view another field as being useless as a result is totally one-sided. I'm sure your main grouse with the purely abstract arts are their apparent lack of tangibility, but I beg to differ on the part of practicality. What is science without the proper use of ethics to put it to good use, how beneficial would it be to a nation's growth if it weren't marketable. It's just as dependable as everything else without a monopoly on the scheme of things. And although a student of the sciences, I find it rather shallow that most people's view of a bright mind is one skillfully primed for science, like bright minds don't exist anywhere else. In the end everything is a matter of opinion, Wole Soyinka is just as important as any other Laureate who contributed to the sciences. You listed great scientists and equally great writers who inspired them, I see no difference. |

einsteine: Ehm, no.
Nigeria does not need a triple A video game.
This is the same problem Nigeria had pre-independence. Our best brains studying useless courses like English literature and Classics while the best brains in Singapore and India were studying Engineering. Yeah, it would probably be good for the individual who wants to make video games to make video games as he would be more fulfilled and happier. However, what is good for the individual is not neccessarily good for the country.
Nigeria needs innovation in pharmacy, chemistry, engineering and agriculture. Bro you really f'ed up calling courses like literature useless. Go and do your research on great minds of science, and you'd find out that majority have one or a host of literary works they credit for changing their lives. In, truth non is more important than the other. If only you knew the years of work not to mention the skills required to make a video game, you wouldn't have been so quick to shoot him down. |

larion: None!
There are better things for an adult to do with phone than to get entangled with candy crush.
Research on certificate to improve your career Research on side business you can do Engage in side business with your phone Research on better job and change your present one Research on better countries you can easily travel to and get a work permit, escape naija. Research on how to be a better parent. Research on how to be a better student. Read the news, follow technology if you are interested. If you want to relax, watch educative videos on YouTube, they are too much.
Engage your sef in better thing, change your mindset If you are still a young man or woman, research on how to find better wife or husband.
We have to raise our levels, and when we raise that level, we have to raise to the next level.
Game on phone kwa? Except you are 13 / 14 years.
I know many will jump on me, but trust me....There are many things to do with your phone than games, even if you wanna relax. Let's stop this silly excuse we make up for not wanting to have fun. Assuming you were married, would you dispel every urge for sex because it wasn't educative, or are you one of those who thinks sex is all "serious business". Loosen up jare, let's see how well you'd wanna do those " educative" stuff if the fun factor was ripped off of them. |

Road trips are rich with diverse experiences, long and treacherous especially in present day Nigeria. On the other hand, travel by air is brisk, and so with less experiences seen on road trips. Travel hazards are infrequent but often catastrophic when they occur.

Saff: people have this misconception that you can’t be addicted to weed. But its real. If you have a dependency on anything, it’s an addiction. Weed addiction is probably worse because it messes you up mentally, cigarettes is more physical. Notwithstanding weed addiction are quite rare. And compared to cigarettes, the long time for effects of weed are child's play. |

Caring0: I'm depressed because I'm bored yo. What else apart from sex, go outing, play games, sleep eat, watch TV is there to do again I need something that will constantly keep me excited! Well if that's the case you need to find something worthwhile, and take things very "slow". From what you've said so far, you're no stranger to the frustrating nature of depression. I reckon you'd still struggle if you were to attempt doing something you were passionate about. You could very well become adept at blogging and passionate too. But as with most worthwhile ventures, it's beginning stages aren't gonna provide you with the quick fixes you so desperately crave. Find someone who could put you through on a regular basis, and take your assignments in tiny junks, one at a time. You should be okay |
