Does it not surprise you that since the start of the primaries across all parties, the purported herdsmen killings have disappeared. The people involved are probably busy with other things and who are busier at this period than the politicians? My own take is that the politicians cause the ethnic killings and destruction, make the government look bad, so that they will use it to campaign against the government of the day then hoping the victimized communities will vote against the government.
Watch how the violence escalates few weeks to the election to score morbid political points against the current government.

On the contrary, Oshiomole is doing a great job. By great job I mean whatever they are doing is affirming party supremacy over all members including elected officials. What happened in Lagos isn't about one man imposing his will on the people but about the party members' rejection of an election government official on the platform of their party. If Tinubu accepted Ambode, the whole party structure will scatter because he was rejected across board.

MSG isn't carcinogen. If you want to stop eating MSG, you should stop eating altogether because even the cube seasonings like Maggi, Royco, Doyin etc has contain MSG. All fast-food restaurants KFC, mr Biggs, Sweet sensation all use MSG. Even Gala and other packaged snacks contain MSG. MSG has it's origin in Asia and that is what the Asians still use till today and they live longer than even we Africans sef. Growing up, MSG was what my mother used in cooking. We later stopped but myself and my wife later went back to using it when I stopped believing those MSG myths and when I found out that the other alternatives contain MSG. What surprised me most was one day when I bought a bucket of chicken and some chips from KFC and MSG was listed as one of their ingredients and if you are averse to it's consumption, you should eat the chicken. (though that part was written in fine prints)

Many people smuggle with the intention of not paying the correct customs duty to the government. Importation through Benin Republic is just marginally cheaper relative to Nigeria.
Sometimes people smuggle to bring in items that are prohibited in their home country like in Nigeria, used fridges and compressor, vegetable oils in jerrycans, used tires, used clothes etc. These items unfortunately has a lucrative market in Nigeria as most people cannot afford new and quality goods of such nature.

I have adressed that. The audience cannot be the judge except they are customs officers or experienced customs agent who are conversant with the correct clearing procedure. I am speaking from a professional angle as I have 12 years+ experience i as a customs clearing agent.
penalty will be payed by the owner when obtaining the correct assessment for not following the correct procedure.

The office through which you obtain assessment will be the port of entry. You won't go through the private DTI CAFE like manifested consignments but through the vehicle seat at the customs long room for example the one at Tincan command.
Note the penalty for smuggled consignments including cars is outright seizure but if you regularize your documents by paying the correct duty before being caught, you are good to go. This is more severe than goods and cars that are imported legally through the appropriate ports and borders but short payed the correct customs duty payable, such cars will be TEMPORARILY siezed and the owner asked to pay the appropriate balance before the car is released to him/her. That is the difference my brother. Buying and driving smuggled car is risky. You could lose your car to the government outrightly.

Cars within the permitted age limits are not contrabands. Obtaining assessment and C-number for your smuggled cars and paying the correct duty is not doctoring of documents. Your obtaining assessment and paying correct duty has achieved what the government was trying to prevent in the first place (by banning cars importation via land borders) LOSS OF REVENUE. I am a clearing agent (you are not) I know what obtains in the importation and clearing process.
Snuggling is a crime (if you are caught). Obtaining assessment and paying correct duty for smuggled cars within the appropriate age limits isn't a crime.

I am a clearing agent of 12 years experience . I am right now inside TINCAN PORTS & CARGO TERMINAL performing customs examination. I am in a better position to inform you better. Paying duty on smuggled cars is not a crime. It is even encouraged for you to approach the vehicle seat of the appropriate customs command to obtain assessment and pay the correct duty payable as long as it is not contraband or import prohibited item.
It isn't about what you feel is right or wrong, it is about what the law says it is right or permissible.

The guy said he is a customs clearing agent not a customs officer. I am a clearing agent too. What he said is the correct and legitimate thing to do. Even if the car is smuggled, the law provide you go to the appropriate customs command and pay the correct duty and you are good to go. I wanted to give the op that advice but this guy has given it before me.
