There's something called "wake" or "lying in state" that involves loved ones paying their last respects.

Ever heard of that before?

That's why it's Diesel fuel they're taking to Europe, not Petrol.
The automotive industry is indeed going electric, but......
Ships, heavy machinery and emergency power installations run on Diesel.

It's absurd......Aluko is a surname......it's one of those Yoruba names that isn't interchangeable as surname and given name, like "Ayinla", "Dopemu", etc.

No big deal naa.....once you got something to offer that a company needs, you clinch something.

I haven't picked up advertised jobs, like......ever. All jobs I've done, I was recommended for, based on networking and past professional relationships.

Just be good to people you work with, they will remember you.

FamilyRe: Appearances Are Deceptive: Meeting Old Classmate By Ademola Henry Adigun by Jeezuzpick(m): 10:13am On Oct 30, 2019
post=83580362:
We had not seen each other for about 30 years. The Lord has been kind to me. When I saw him again - this time at a hotel lobby - he was looking simple. He wore simple Ankara attire. I felt touched. He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it. We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.

I told him I will drop him home in my brand new Range Rover and I pointed it to him. He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, a 2001 Honda Accord.

I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him - To show off my success and affluence to him, while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.

He drove to Parkview where I lived. He looked impressed with my home. I had taken a heavy mortgage. In fact I was heavily in debt. We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans... He looked at me and smiled.

He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had. “Fingers are not all equal”, I thought to myself...I was lucky. I worked in a good place.

Two weeks later, we went to see him in Ikeja. My wife and I. She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house. I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college. We saw the Estate. *Wuraola Estate.* We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.

It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.

Lunch was well served. His wife called him Baba Wuraola

During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. He told me he owned the company. He also owned the estate.

I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too.

I had learnt a lesson in humility - A big one. Appearances are deceptive. He noticed my discomfort.

Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life!

Christianity EtcRe: Bishop Oyedepo Approves N650 Million To Repair Roads by Jeezuzpick(m): 12:51pm On Oct 24, 2019
jesusjnr:
Nice one from Oyedepo, however he still has a long way to go, considering the amount involved here (N.65 Billion) in comparison with that of the aircraft he recently purchased (N2.5 billion) amongst others, for it's only when he starts getting to the point where that riches he accumulates begin to pale in comparison to that which he distributes, that he would know that he has gotten somewhere.

Also very importantly he has to stop mocking the poor and needy and also discouraging people from helping them, for that was the basis of his heresy concerning Job not tithing, for since Job was the known as the father of the poor, being a well known mocker of the poor that he is, he wanted to by all means give people the idea that just giving to the poor and needy alone would not make God rebuke the devourer for one's sake.

And I don't think God would have been happy with that for God doesn't use the poor and needy to play, so no true friend of God is an enemy of the poor, and I believe that Job attitude towards the poor was one thing which set him apart in the sight of God, and hence one of the reasons God proudly showcased him to the devil.

So obviously that's a leaf that Oyedepo can take from Job's life for him to be able to command the same kind of respect from God.

For that is also in accordance with the teachings of Jesus and the example which His disciples had followed when the church first began, which is riches by distribution not by accumulation:

Acts 4:32, 34-35 (KJV)

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

So until Oyedepo's church gets to this point where none of his members have lack, he should not see himself as a rich man.

God bless.
You try.

Meanwhile, people of all religions will use the road o.

I'm still waiting for the road built by shrine and mosque.

We close our border not that we ban their produce/product so while are they crying. Why were they shipping their goods through Benin and not directly to Nigeria. If they prefer shipping through Benin, they better sell their products in Benin and not Nigeria.

I am bitter here because, I know the frustration I go through selling my cars ship through Apapa, those bring theirs through land border will not pay duty and they will offer the amount for duty as discount to buyers. This makes buys believe we hike our prices.
No decent buyer will ever think that, bro.....those buying smuggled cars risk being dealt with by Customs.

So the latest news is that our border closure is creating a global butterfly effect.

Asian countries are now being hit hard.

India?

Thailand?

If we're buying so much rice, what percentage of the rice we're consuming are we really producing locally?

I hope this isnt like the case of twitter user from lautech....

one of the simple Difference between Civilised and UnCivilised Countries is the Ability to Police who is Policing you, and to have Authority over who is having Authority over you...

Take for instance, Nigerian Police Force, they weild so much power that they dont have any policing or monitoring done on them except for some few department within the police it self, In sane climes, the Justice Department in collaboration with another Agency has a beruea that investigate and discipline police officers

Private Universities.. Atleast LeadCity that i know of, has a Quality Control Department that oversees all activities of the lecturers.. and offer recomendation based on performance and general conduct to the management.. this alone make even the most rascal Public University lecturer behave with manners when they take up lecturing jobs at Leadcity
.
Internal Affairs.

They scare US Police Departments shittless.

SportsRe: Racial Abuse: Tammy Abraham Says English Players Will Walk Off If Targeted by Jeezuzpick(m): 5:40am On Oct 09, 2019
realestniggah:
Tammy should have chosen Nigeria .. Where he would be loved. I know Nigeria is a difficult place.. But at the end of the day there is no place like home.. He got a call up to the England squad because of his current form..the minute he under perform he would be dropped. Let see how long he last with the English FA.

Imagine if iwobi had gone to England.. Considering the constant abuse he get when he was an arsenal player..iwobi would have lost his mind if not for the loved shown to him from nigeria.
It only a matter of time the same treatment that was given to iwobi at arsenal will be given to him in the English team if he under perform.. They never treat their white counterpart like that even if they drop a solid 4/10.
The same way we "loved" Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo into retirement, right?

Yeah, Naija is difficult, made ever more so by our ruling parasites who seem bent on squeezing us dry, but, on top of that, we focus so much on lines of division that never did anyone any good.

Our mentality is another story. We never expect, (neither do we accept it's possible for) a player to have a bad day on the pitch. We begin to give them bad names and even rain curses on them.

These words get back to the players fast, in this world of social media. And don't get me started on NFF and their corruption......It takes stubborn, even fanatical determination for players to keep playing for Nigeria.

That is a Lister engine coupled with a huge grinder by a very long belt.

I know because I've seen those beasts before. They're used to process rice, grind millet and corn in the north yam flour and garri in the southwest. See that barrel in the top left corner of the second pic? It holds the water that cools the engine.

It will make short work of a neck if said neck is caught in the pulley.
