Foreign AffairsRe: Why Isn't CNN Reporting The Recent Acorn Scandal? by JeSoul(op): 12:27am On Sep 17, 2009
Ibime:
hehehehe. . . . calm down darling!  cool

The story has no legs. . . . and no amount of broadcasting on Nairaland will give the story legs.

At best, it will be a passing comment on Major News channels, whilst Fox News continue to anchor their news reports on the story.

Simple reason is that these are isolated cases of misconduct, not Acorn procedure or culture.

Now calm the phock down and quit breaking exclusives on us.  wink

BTW, ya spoken word is not bad.  kiss
lol . . . you're crafty, able to charm your way out of any situation huh? but it would really be unfortunate for someone of your intellectual capabilities to allow your affection for Obama to prevent you from analyzing issues objectively. If you thot my goal was to tie this to Obama let me disappoint you now - while this is a negative for Obama becos he has ties to the organization, I don't see how he can be blamed or held responsible for any of it - that would be ludicrous.

but if this story indeed has no legs we will see how it plays out over the coming weeks.

And that is the thing exactly, this does not appear to be an isolated incident! haven't you read the story of the regular citizens who went undercover? they decided not to go to a major news outlet but are instead releasing the videos one day at a time - it showed several acorn employees, in different offices, in different states! if it were one or two I don't think people would be up in arms but this many? the fifth video should be out today I think . . .

oh and ps. glad you dig the video   kiss

And what do you know, the story is so "stupid" the rest of the networks are now reporting it.

Acorn launches an investigation
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32880434/ns/politics-more_politics/
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/09/white-house-calls-acorn-employees-behavior-unacceptable.html

and by the way, did I mention several people have already been arrested and the FBI is involved? yeah pretty darn stupid if you ask me.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Isn't CNN Reporting The Recent Acorn Scandal? by JeSoul(op): 8:50pm On Sep 16, 2009
Perhaps the stupid post of the day should go to you . . .

This is the 4th video in the series of scandals! from different Acorn offices! and more are slated to come out today and in the coming days. Forgive me for assuming the usually knowledgeable audience might at least be paying some attention to the news at all . . .  huh Perhaps you should feign humility and simply ask if you're clueless on a matter. Infact I just checked CNN, they have "started" reporting it . . .

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2009/09/16/am.acorn.video.reaction.cnn

you should feel very "stupid" right about now, no?

yeswecan:
United Nations has failed; a reasonable person should know the United Nations failed in its activities. The suicide bombers are not committing any crime huh? If they want to earn my respect they should work towards a peace project for the Israel/Palestine instead of side-talking on issues. Fact-finding mission: Imagine that. Instead of finding a lasting solution to the ME they are bringing out wrong figures and judgment.
Which is why they will continue to remain an irrelevant figurehead void of true power or influence.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Isn't CNN Reporting The Recent Acorn Scandal? by JeSoul(op): 6:27pm On Sep 16, 2009
Chosen,

here's a link to the Foxnews coverage since they're the only major news outlet covering it. Also if you google it you'll get lots of bloggers both left and right commenting extensively on it. But yet CNN and co have decided they will not speak about it.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,550562,00.html 4 videos so far have been released and more are slated to come out in the coming days.

(If you aren't aware of the recent bombshells here's a video summary and more videos of more acorn offices are set to be released today and in the coming days.)

Along with NBC, CBS and ABC? why why why? huh do they think if they ignore this incredibly shocking story it will go away? this is not a partisan matter, it is a corruption matter, a huge corruption matter that could infact destroy Acorn completely. I thought even if the other networks didn't at least CNN would. I'm very disappointed.

Is honest journalism in America completely dead now?

No2A,
I feel you brotha. I know there's much information that the public is not privy to and that many aspects of many stories never make it to the airwaves. I am however much more conservative than yourself on conspiracies cheesy

Recognise,
amen to that. All in all we just continue to live our lives without fear.

@JeSoul

I too chuckled along with MrCrackles when I read your blunt & frank response

No doubt there are some inspirations and lines for your next lyrics wink wink

Not that you havent touched on some of them already on your existing works
embarassed I guess my true sarcastic, blunt colors were flying there lol . . . but I see no other effective method of approach in dealing with someone like this who is so far divorced from reality and sanity. He needs to cut her off!

davidylan:
This is embarrassing, why dont the leaders at CE CLEARLY state that those who cannot afford to give shld not do so?
Embarrasing is an understatement. Like it isn't common knowledge the great lengths CE goes to in order to fleece their congregation.

I would like to see MI4 . . . as long as they can get really really creative with the script.

Aqva, you're right, this has absolutely nuthin to do with prayer, where is common sense? This is a case of good ol' fashioned insanity. If you really want to help her, stop giving her loans!

MrCrackles:
Hehehe. . . .
From your mouth Jesoul? grin
lol . . . for sure now  smiley. How can someone in their right senses be giving their entire earnings to a church for pastor's birthday and building fund when they cannot even feed or clothe themselves? It is insane.

If after numerous admonitions & warnings from you she still refuses to listen - then she deserves to be a pauper. Perhaps when she can no longer pay her rent or buy food to eat she will be rudely awakened to the reality she is being pimped by professional crooks.

iice thanks for posting that kiss

I thought it was one of those family movies. I didn't know it would be this dark. I'll be looking forward to seeing this especially as Tim is doing the CGI thing for the first time I think.
Family movie ke? lol even I was creeped out when I first saw the trailer months ago . . . it appears to be a very dark animation, a disturbing kind of dark animation. I hope Burton doesn't turn Alice into a creep as well tongue

The Pats also need to address their running game . . . Maroney ain't cutting it at all since he took over. Cannot have a 1-dimensional offense.

bawomolo:
Jesoul - Old men are not to be rushed grin. he would be in chicago soon
hehe how long does it take him to get out of bed, clean out the diapers, fix his dentures and steady on his walker?  grin

A-40,
don't mind me I was just being stubborn with Bawo smiley - the Pats were lucky to get that fumble but clutch in taking advantage of it. Our line will be fine, getting good and solid takes time they will get there sooner than later. Meanwhile we have to depend on outscoring our opponents to win games . . .

Kunle,

yes we see those specific examples of where the church finance went to but in no way does it suggest this was the only place & way it was meant to be spent. I also don't see it as a matter of which is the 'primary' goal, but moreso every need should be examined and then the finances meted out accordingly.

If a small church's pastor had a great need in his family and was in dire circumstances, should the church skip over him and go ahead and assign the finance to the food bank for that week because feeding the poor is the primary goal? of course not. The scriptures also say "do not muzzle the oxen while it feeds".

The church's mission is to serve the saints, serve the community and advance the kingdom of God by actively preaching the gospel all over the world and making disciples. If the church finances are spent in such a manner that supports & advances these goals then it is biblical and it is fine.

Our defense is young & yet to learn the system . . . but they have firepower, give them half a season to smoothen the edges, they will sucker punch your Bears into oblivion cool
Christianity EtcRe: Monies Taken In Churches, What Are They Used For? by JeSoul(f): 4:28pm On Sep 15, 2009
Yeah, many modern churches have basterdized the original, intended purpose for many biblical teachings, all for the sole aim of enriching themselves - they will not escape the judgement of God.

My church is pentecostal though. Our pastors live on the property, modest housing, modest cars, modest everything. There is a church board and once a year there is a business meeting where the books are opened up to the entire church to see where the finances are being spent. Also once a year during morning service the general figures and numbers are put up for all to see and know and feel at ease. They still however preach tithing sad but as long as the finances are spent right it makes it easier to swallow that pill.

There are many churches doing it right, its just that the bad eggs are much more in number and much louder in volume.
