*Warning: Offtopic below* manmustwac:my brotha, nobody hurts more than me at the needless death of innocent people . . . but Hamas brought this on themselves, the blood is on their turban. Isreal left them alone in Gaza but no they kept firing tens of rockets a day at Isreal . . . where were your tears when they were "killing innocent Isreali women and children"? Hamas can end this violence if they stop a war that they first initiated. As for me, I remain in my fighter jet until the "murderHamas" are wiped out or crippled beyond repair. |
bindex:lol . . . I go try to find am just for you . |
duduspace:yes true christians sometimes disagree on lesser matters such as speaking in tongues, women pastors etc . . . BUT for bedrock and foundation elements of the faith such as John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" and "I am the way, the truth, the life, no one comes to the Father except by me." there is no disagreement here as to what these mean. This is the basic belief for all christians. So when you have someone claiming to believe in Jesus yet they don't believe in what Jesus himself taught . . . this is an oxymoron and this is not a christian. Simple. I would even argue with you that Jesus was creating his own God in a way, I mean what right had he to disagree with what the religious leaders of his time interpreted to be the meaning of the Torah? Look the way I see it is this: Nobody is being forced or coerced to believe in the bible as it is written. So if you want to call yourself a christian, you must walk by the teachings of the bible. Now if you want to form your own beliefs, then cease and desist from using the term "christian" cos then you're muddying the waters and misleading others. So what right did Jesus have to "question" the religious leaders? the bible teaches He is God in the flesh - that's where His right came from. Now if you don't believe Jesus is God, then why be bothered with the bible in the first place? why be bothered with Jesus at all? |
"There's probably no God". . . that's the best the brilliant, educated, liberated thinking atheist activists could come up with? ![]() |
Sisi Jinx:ROTFLOL . . . If I get chance I for give you Pulitzer for this short classic ![]() |
JJYOU:Kai! that na long time ![]() |
Create Your Own God, Current Trend In Religion?Indeed it is. But this should come as no suprise to anyone who's ever read the bible. One problem I do have with the article is in its definition of a christian. A person is a christian only if they fit the biblical description and definition of one. A person is NOT a christian just becos they say so. Once you adjust and modify this in the study, the true percentages of "biblical christians" creating their own god will be equal to zero. |
kay9:hehe Sisi Jinx:lol and we Bourne loyalists shall counter with 2 threads Hey, a man's got to do what a man's go to do!lol . . . multitasking indeed I wouldn't mind the multi-tasking so much if his Hot behind didn't get caught so often, or if his work wasn't so sloppy, and his mental state so shaky that mummy needs to worry about him Bourne is the kind of spy you can take home . . . Bond? not so much ![]() Sisi Jinx:see the Bond dance is even yeye . . . the dude obviously has no rhythm he can't even stay on beat . . . heheif to say na Bourne dey dance na break dance, pop locking, Krump & Salsa we for see ![]() |
Can someone be both a christian and a muslim? No. Can a deluded someone be both a christian and a muslim?Yes. |
There's no reasoning with these people. If the U.S. gets involved, they'll say they're meddling, if the U.S. is quiet they say they're not doing enough? Obama is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Does the ignorance & hypocrisy of these termites know no bounds? ![]() |
kay9:ROTFLOL . . . hilarious! lol Sisi and Doyin aka the only Bond-fans on NL ![]() the Bond thing is old, outdated and unrealistic, Jason Bourne is the FUTURE of spies and kick-ass agents . I mean seriously, you can't even compare the two. From their fighting skills, to intelligence, to everything in between. And Bond will sleep with anything in a skirt *rolls her eyes* does the dude not have an ounce of self-control? Charming my a** shouldn't he have caught something by now? But Bourne has no time for womanizing, disciplined but yet he carries a kind of charm about him - my kind of super-spy If you were running from the police or hired assasins, who would you want protecting you? the guy who's never gotten caught? or the one who'll stop for a martini and booty call? ![]() I think Doyin is sour because yet again the CIA has smacked down the wuss-filled MI6 ![]() |
hehe A-40 you may now begin celebrating . . . it shall be the clash of the defenses with the Ravens. |
Egba mi ooh!! My Steelers wan kill person ooh!! its 28-10 and Big Ben has been colossal
Don't celebrate yet oh, I've seen stranger things happen in the dying minutes of games . . . @doyindamuslol . . . perhaps he's just having an off day. |
Wassup fellas, na so so smile I just dey do right now, infact my heart is full of such joy eh . . . THE EVIL GIANTS ARE OUT!!!! . . . . the football gods are indeed a just bunch I am forever indebted to McNabb n the Eagles for making this possible . and after that titanic run during the season these dudes just sunk in the playoffs, I'm not sure whether it was more the Ravens or their poor play. And who woulda thot the Panthers would go down to lowly Arizona? I think more than ever we're being reminded that what you do and the record you have in the Reg season is absolutely meaningless once you get into the playoffs. . . . see how the mighty are falling left and right lol Doyin for real, you needs ta replace the bulb in your crystal ball . . . . |
doyin13:
Roflmao!! so i take it you like your girls short and stocky
ROTFLOL . . . oya Doyin come and defend yourself ![]() |
Moonstone:lol . . . all they have to do is win win and win and I'm sure you'll petition Seun to change your tag quick quick ![]() Girl for real oh, before I started smacking on ur boys, I picked them prior to the season to win the West and they started putting me to shame with that start. I know they're young, the thing is they were so much better last yr one woulda expected them to be even better after spending a whole season together n acquiring heads like Pose. Anways we shall see. . . Abeg '40 n co make una no swear for my Celtics oh . . . cos it looks like enuff bad bella from all the haters has finally worked lol . . . I hope they don't lose to the Cavs again tonite, 4 in a row for world champions? ![]() |
Sheldon monster? Kai Bawo your mouth eh well least looks like the dude got game off the court A-40 men I tell you, I actually expect the losing streak to reach 4 tonight . . . I know this team, they need a break or a jolt of something to get back on track. Well I'm sure they hate losing just as much as we the fans hate seeing it. Only Pierce is pulling his weight, Garnett has been reduced to a 30ft jump shooter and Allen picked a horrible time to be shooting below 30% and Rondo is gone MIA. Since it happened so fast, I think its more mental than physical - which is good. As for Candance, I know family is everything but she might have dealt a serious blow to her career. and gracias for putting Onyinye in her place lol . . . . I knew she would show up eventually. Onyinye come back after you guys have won a 1st rd series hehe . . . Now where's Moonstone? I was expecting to see some smack-talk from her . . . ![]() |
let me sneak some WNBA/NBA news This is really cute http://www.wnba.com/sparks/news/candaceparker_pregnant_090107.html
awwww . . . lol I am watching the Heat and Denver game and i ask myself do you have to be a walking human graffiti before you can play for the NuggetsMy brother help me wonder oh . . . ![]() If Onyinye does not take time her Rockets would not even have the privilege of losing in the first roundThat's cold man hehe ![]() |
Y'all can't afford to lose again especially since Orlando won and yeah you could do with a stronger bench it showed in L.A
Well we just did . . . this one na real slump And with Cleveland coming up friday . . . nows the time for them to show that character thing they all like to talk about. |
hehe 2 yrs ago the media and everyone in Chitown was drooling all over Hester the-amazing-kick-returner-who-would-stroll-into-the-record-books what happened to the love affair? |
@Jesoul Haba!! the Houston Rockets win the West? even with Artest i would consider a first round win a big step forward they are not that good T-Mac and Yao are over-hyped and their role players don't excite Its dog eat dog in the West but its the Lakers and the rest because LA's front-court is something else and their bench is like the deep blue sea
Haba back! don't say it out loud, Onyinye might hear you & come back .No I don't expect Houston to win the west, you see I bin dey talk smack about them all thread long now . But I won't count anyone out based on records so far. No team has stepped up to say "we are among the elite" except the Lala boys.As for the Celts they do need to get their acts together because sometimes its hard to match the hunger and that will to win the 2nd time its not just the same as the 1st there is always that urge to take your foot of the pedal the East is pretty tight among the top 5 Cleveland,Boston,Orlando,ATL and Detroit as for Detroit they seem to be on a roll and A.I is finally getting used to the system the standout guy for me is Stuckey he has been playing like a veteran these last few games providing loads of offense from the point-guard positionFor real on all points. Celtics will be fine, they should just listen to jesoul and get some bench help to spark offense & length to intensify defense . . . preferably someone who can take care of the ball cos we suck at turnovers, I think we lead the league in that dept self. The Pistons are doing well, but I think they'll run into problems with match-ups in the postseason. |
Injury problems? from where? Melo just went down and only for a few weeks, TMac is not a new thing, who else? It's not that I'm disappointed, I mean I expected certain teams like NO, Phoenix, Utah to be more hardcore this yr than last yr. Not that parity is not a good thing, I'm just saying the western title can go to almost any team, there's no clear cut favorite besides LA no one else has stepped up. yikes, these Celtics are really cold right now, Rockets are up few pts. Ray is shooting like 3-20 3ptrs past 2 games, only Pierce is carrying the team on his shoulders & Rondo is showing his youth . . . all-star talks have silenced a bit now lol. If they lose at home tonight, my level of concern will rise about 2% . Every team gives us their A-game - its hard to maintain intensity 82games straight but shoot that's why their making millions abi? |
You know the west has really disappointed me. Many teams I thot would explode this yr have been average. I think apart from the Lakers, the west can easily go to 8 different teams. I mean look at the records: New Orleans 21-10 San An 23-11 Denver 24-12 Dallas 21-13 Phoenix 19-12 Portland 20-14 Houston 21-15 Utah 20-15 There is no clear above-the-rest team, everybody has a shot. SA has experience, Blazers-youth, Nuggets-Billups etc . . . if any of the above gets their act together and take their intensity to another level they can carry through to the finals. We'll see sha |
Bawo, I forgot to yabb you . . . the Bears are picking at the Lions trash to add to their coaching staff how is an 0-16 HC going to help your sputtering defense as co-ordinator? and as the NFL turns . . . BC coach got fired for interviewing for the Jets vacancy. See BC acting like a jilted lover ![]() Mangini is the newest Browns coach, it will not make a diff come next yr Cowboys have released PACman TO has not been in any headlines lately . . . very very scary |
The Steelers do not have a fantastic offense but their defense makes up for that in the extreme! i think Rivers would be pushed to the limit and Sproles would get really banged up by them Steelers they would need Tomlinson in this game even though i still favor my Steelers besides the weather could also be a factor that could work in the Steelers favor that Heinz Field is a battleground
hmm, I think LT should be noble and sit. He will hurt his team if he's playing at anything less than 100%. It'll be intresting to see how the Steelers neutralize Sproles, that dude is a like a rocket let out of a cannon. |
You fellas are right about the importance of home court adv . . . no doubt about that. It's hard to push buttons right now cos the season is still very young. A team can go on a 15-game win streak and win their division, while a team who's been good all year can limp into the postseason with an inferior seed. A-40, yeah I know there is some cause for concern, but not panic . Slumps come and go, way I see it, they'd better struggle now than late March . Now we can all let those 70 win bulls rest, their record is secure for at least another season .HornetStone ![]() you guys are getting better though, I give you that, after starting 8-7 or something like that. Though I smack on the Rockets, if they were all healthy (physically & mentally) at the right time, they can challenge ANY team in the west. The thing is the Hornets have not be consistent, I need to see more before my faith is renewed in them . . . not forgetting I picked them to win the west this year at the start of the season they have just disgraced calling skills |
Ehen Alhaji you don come again Abeg leave us alone to read our photocopied, memorexed, old-english, book of disadvantage. Na you sabi, we like and love it just the way it is.By the way Happy New year . . . many of us are anticipating the day you accept Jesus Christ as Lord as savior of your life. |
doyin13:. . . yup no comparison, it's Jason Bourne hands down! -Bond needs toys and gadgets and bombs and watches equipped with laser rays, and cars that can convert to a boat or some other crap . . -Bourne only needs his fists and brains. Nuff said. |
So what are you guys picks for this weekend? Sat: Baltimore vs Titans Arizona vs. Carolina The Titans are my adopted team. And after limping into the playoffs they'd better find a way quickly to re-establish their dominance. I still think the Cards are not as good as their position indicates. Carolina should make it thru. Sun: SD vs Pittsburgh Philly vs. NY Giants I'm not too confident in the Steelers . . . they play good, they play bad . . . but if Big Ben can limit his INT's I think they'll win against an inferior but don't underestimate them Chargers Eagles Eagles Eagles - how many times did I call your name? You MUST BEAT those evil Giants in their own house. You did it before, you can do it again ![]() |
rikkyjen:yeye Rikkygenerator (thanks A-40) there is a football god and he listens very intently to jesoul Colts down, Giants to go But seriously, the Colts have no excuse not to have made minced meat out of a weak and under-acheiving SD team.
Nothing works better than self-consolation and the fact that Peyton Manning never got the chance to strike back was what made it all sweeter after the adrenalin rush of being named League MVP he gets sacked in a crucial play that would have ended the game in regulation ohh and you have not told me why your D couldn't cope with Darren Sproles leave the Cowboys we know we are over-rated and living on past-glory i just want Wade Phillips to be thrown out and for Jerry Jones to hire Mike Shanahan he runs one of the best offenses in the business too bad the Broncos ain't talented enough
lol . . . wow, not in all of humankind have I seen such honesty It doesn't look like JJ will scapegoat Wade. Firings usually come within a day or a week of when the teams season is over . . . So my brotha, don't hold your breath on that one. |
A-40 & Lai which kin emergency? the C's are simply going through a rough stretch, no need to panic as this team is playoff built and can win a 7-game series against any other team. no be record pesin go chop, I'll be satisfied with a 60-22 record as long as they bring that trophy back to Beantown . . . so If na panic all of una dey find, you no get am the Celtics will be fine. Now where is that yeye Wade who was arguing with me when I told him the Celtics needed to buff up their bench? We need to acquire at least 2 veterans, one with scoring, the other with height - with that we shall be invincible. Lakers lost? so what? they're still better than the Hornets so Moonstone enjoy your 5-minute victory. I don't even see the Hornets defeating Houston or SanAntonio in a 7-game series. They are playing way below their potential. |
adetunrayo:They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Like Tonye mentioned the NLT (and others like CEM) is very easy to read and understand because its in modern day english. The downside is that oftentimes these newer translations loose some of the power and authority of the words when you dumb it down from KJV. As for me, my primary Bible is the NIV, not for any special reason, its just what I was taught with since sunday school and I stuck with it . The KJV is definitely a close 2nd. |
