Killing over a 1000 innocent Palestinian women and children abi? cry cry sad sad cry sad cry
my brotha, nobody hurts more than me at the needless death of innocent people . . .  but Hamas brought this on themselves, the blood is on their turban. Isreal left them alone in Gaza but no they kept firing tens of rockets a day at Isreal . . . where were your tears when they were "killing innocent Isreali women and children"?  huh  Hamas can end this violence if they stop a war that they first initiated.

As for me, I remain in my fighter jet until the "murderHamas" are wiped out or crippled beyond repair.

Unfortunately, you are not saying much JeSoul as there is no agreed consensus on what some critical part of the bible's teachings and injunctions means if there was, there wouldn't be so much confusion and denominations.
yes true christians sometimes disagree on lesser matters such as speaking in tongues, women pastors etc . . .

BUT

for bedrock and foundation elements of the faith such as
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" and
"I am the way, the truth, the life, no one comes to the Father except by me."

there is no disagreement here as to what these mean. This is the basic belief for all christians. So when you have someone claiming to believe in Jesus yet they don't believe in what Jesus himself taught . . . this is an oxymoron and this is not a christian. Simple.

I would even argue with you that Jesus was creating his own God in a way, I mean what right had he to disagree with what the religious leaders of his time interpreted to be the meaning of the Torah?
smiley  Look the way I see it is this: Nobody is being forced or coerced to believe in the bible as it is written. So if you want to call yourself a christian, you must walk by the teachings of the bible.
Now if you want to form your own beliefs, then cease and desist from using the term "christian" cos then you're muddying the waters and misleading others.

So what right did Jesus have to "question" the religious leaders? the bible teaches He is God in the flesh - that's where His right came from. Now if you don't believe Jesus is God, then why be bothered with the bible in the first place? why be bothered with Jesus at all?

Just to be clear, I think Nollywood is better. kiss kiss

I like how the stories never make sense and how the actors always seem to be acting off the cuff. . . it leaves room for creativity and boy do they get creative.

I like how they allow anyone to act, I imagine they just go to a market place and say "We dey do movie for yonder ooh, who wan act? Oya follow. . . wait, wait first you get your own shirt and trouser? Good! Good! Oya come na you go be lead actor"

I like the painstaking effort they put in their special effects, I suspect grinding chalk for white hair (for old age) and charcoal for the face (For scary face) is not an easy task. I saw Benjamin Button a few weeks ago and I almost died laughing at the shoddy work they did in aging and younging Brad Pitt. . . Honestly, what was that??!!! huh huh

I like how they don't bother to edit the mistakes, this fantastic effect ensures that the audience knows they are watching a movie. All that Movie transporting you to another world crapola is overrated jare.

I like how we can hear people in the background talking and yelling at one another. . . because it makes us know the characters we see on TV are real not cartoon even though their acting is cartoonish at best.

I like how the sound track is always blasting away despite the fact that the actors are talking. Because of this, I have learnt to spin the (volume) dial. . . I am this close to coming out with my own Remix Hit. Look out!!

In Short, I like Nollywood because it teaches. . . Yeah, It teaches how NOT to ever, ever, even if your life depends on it ever make movies.

Thank you Nollywood! More grease to your collective elbows. kiss kiss
ROTFLOL . . . grin grin grin grin grin If I get chance I for give you Pulitzer for this short classic grin

Create Your Own God, Current Trend In Religion?
Indeed it is. But this should come as no suprise to anyone who's ever read the bible.
One problem I do have with the article is in its definition of a christian.
A person is a christian only if they fit the biblical description and definition of one. A person is NOT a christian just becos they say so.

Once you adjust and modify this in the study, the true percentages of "biblical christians" creating their own god will be equal to zero.

Didn't expect anything else from good ol' Sisi! grin grin

Ok, i can see knuckles flexing already on both sides of the fence (a HORDE of Bourne lovers on one side; Sisi Jinx and. . . well, just Sisi Jinx on the other  grin grin), but let's get this straight: Until very recently, Bond's always been a REAL sissy. Remember Roger Moore? Or even "cool" Sean Connery? I can't remember exactly which of the "Bond's" it was now, but I distinctly remember being 10 years old, sitting on our parlour settee, watching James Bond, and thinking: This guy is such a wuss! Honestly, the only time I ever liked Mr. Bond was when he was getting the bejeezums beaten out of him in Die Another Day(u know, when Brosnam was getting the electric shocks and was seeing flying thingys, just before the movie began proper) - I mean, he took it like a man. I bet if it'd been Moore, he'd made some licorice, chocolatey remark to his torturer (who'd be female B.T.W) and gotten her to giggle like a piglet (Owh, Mizzterr Bonhhd!); I don't even want to think of what Dalton would've done. Yeeesh.

But Bourne, now you got a real soldier. He doesn't make licorice, chocolatey remarks to nobody. He doesn't get lucky; he doesn't have fancy see-through cars; damn, he doesn't have nothing - no big Momma Judy Dench to save his lazy backside - nobody! Yet, he survives - and God help whoever gets in his way! Like Sisi! grin
ROTFLOL . . .  grin  grin  grin hilarious! lol

the Bond thing is old, outdated and unrealistic, Jason Bourne is the FUTURE of spies and kick-ass agents  cool. I mean seriously, you can't even compare the two. From their fighting skills, to intelligence, to everything in between. And Bond will sleep with anything in a skirt *rolls her eyes* does the dude not have an ounce of self-control? Charming my a** shouldn't he have caught something by now?  cheesy But Bourne has no time for womanizing, disciplined but yet he carries a kind of charm about him - my kind of super-spy  kiss. Not the one that needs mummy to clean up his mess.

If you were running from the police or hired assasins, who would you want protecting you? the guy who's never gotten caught? or the one who'll stop for a martini and booty call? grin

LOL! Now you make me want to change from Moonstone to Hornetstone. I love that sooooooooooooooo much smiley smiley. We are trying really well. Rockets are so out of it and that's the best thing ever. I agree Hornets have not be consistent but they are doing well for a young team. Why does everyone forget how the Hornets are so young? We are not veterans like Lakers, Spurs, Rockets, Mavs or even Celts.

As for your wonderful celtics, I really hope they continue this losing streak for another 4 games, then I'll consider the East almost as interesting as the West. cheesy cheesy You need to listen to me more. I said they would crash and burn but did you answer me? Noooooooooooo! It's all good. This is a part of the game.

A-40 men I tell you, I actually expect the losing streak to reach 4 tonight . . . I know this team, they need a break or a jolt of something to get back on track. Well I'm sure they hate losing just as much as we the fans hate seeing it. Only Pierce is pulling his weight, Garnett has been reduced to a 30ft jump shooter and Allen picked a horrible time to be shooting below 30% and Rondo is gone MIA. Since it happened so fast, I think its more mental than physical - which is good.
As for Candance, I know family is everything but she might have dealt a serious blow to her career.

Haba!! the Houston Rockets win the West? even with Artest i would consider a first round win a big step forward they are not that good T-Mac and Yao are over-hyped and their role players don't excite

Its dog eat dog in the West but its the Lakers and the rest because LA's front-court is something else and their bench is like the deep blue sea
Haba back! don't say it out loud, Onyinye might hear you & come back cheesy.
No I don't expect Houston to win the west, you see I bin dey talk smack about them all thread long now smiley. But I won't count anyone out based on records so far. No team has stepped up to say "we are among the elite" except the Lala boys.

As for the Celts they do need to get their acts together because sometimes its hard to match the hunger and that will to win the 2nd time its not just the same as the 1st there is always that urge to take your foot of the pedal the East is pretty tight among the top 5 Cleveland,Boston,Orlando,ATL and Detroit as for Detroit they seem to be on a roll and A.I is finally getting used to the system the standout guy for me is Stuckey he has been playing like a veteran these last few games providing loads of offense from the point-guard position
For real on all points. Celtics will be fine, they should just listen to jesoul and get some bench help to spark offense & length to intensify defense . . . preferably someone who can take care of the ball cos we suck at turnovers, I think we lead the league in that dept self. The Pistons are doing well, but I think they'll run into problems with match-ups in the postseason.

Injury problems? from where? Melo just went down and only for a few weeks, TMac is not a new thing, who else?

It's not that I'm disappointed, I mean I expected certain teams like NO, Phoenix, Utah to be more hardcore this yr than last yr. Not that parity is not a good thing, I'm just saying the western title can go to almost any team, there's no clear cut favorite besides LA no one else has stepped up.

yikes, these Celtics are really cold right now, Rockets are up few pts. Ray is shooting like 3-20 3ptrs past 2 games, only Pierce is carrying the team on his shoulders & Rondo is showing his youth . . . all-star talks have silenced a bit now lol. If they lose at home tonight, my level of concern will rise about 2%  cool.
Every team gives us their A-game - its hard to maintain intensity 82games straight but shoot that's why their making millions abi?
SportsRe: Nba Season '08/09 by JeSoul(f): 12:24am On Jan 08, 2009
You know the west has really disappointed me. Many teams I thot would explode this yr have been average. I think apart from the Lakers, the west can easily go to 8 different teams. I mean look at the records:

New Orleans 21-10
San An 23-11
Denver  24-12
Dallas 21-13
Phoenix 19-12
Portland 20-14
Houston 21-15
Utah 20-15

There is no clear above-the-rest team, everybody has a shot. SA has experience, Blazers-youth, Nuggets-Billups etc . . . if any of the above gets their act together and take their intensity to another level they can carry through to the finals. We'll see sha

You fellas are right about the importance of home court adv . . . no doubt about that. It's hard to push buttons right now cos the season is still very young. A team can go on a 15-game win streak and win their division, while a team who's been good all year can limp into the postseason with an inferior seed.

A-40,
yeah I know there is some cause for concern, but not panic smiley. Slumps come and go, way I see it, they'd better struggle now than late March cool. Now we can all let those 70 win bulls rest, their record is secure for at least another season smiley.

So what are you guys picks for this weekend?

Sat:
Baltimore vs Titans
Arizona vs. Carolina

The Titans are my adopted team. And after limping into the playoffs they'd better find a way quickly to re-establish their dominance.
I still think the Cards are not as good as their position indicates. Carolina should make it thru.

Sun:
SD vs Pittsburgh
Philly vs. NY Giants

I'm not too confident in the Steelers . . . they play good, they play bad . . . but if Big Ben can limit his INT's I think they'll win against an inferior but don't underestimate them Chargers

Now where is that yeye Wade who was arguing with me when I told him the Celtics needed to buff up their bench? We need to acquire at least 2 veterans, one with scoring, the other with height - with that we shall be invincible.

Lakers lost? so what? they're still better than the Hornets so Moonstone enjoy your 5-minute victory. I don't even see the Hornets defeating Houston or SanAntonio in a 7-game series. They are playing way below their potential.

For me, I prefer King James, maybe its because am used to it anyway.
They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Like Tonye mentioned the NLT (and others like CEM) is very easy to read and understand because its in modern day english. The downside is that oftentimes these newer translations loose some of the power and authority of the words when you dumb it down from KJV.

As for me, my primary Bible is the NIV, not for any special reason, its just what I was taught with since sunday school and I stuck with it  smiley. The KJV is definitely a close 2nd.
