Jesouladamus? . . . hmmm, it has a nice ring to it, but e too long You're right they started to decline after the Det game, it looks like they bought into the philosophy or should I say "leased"? , played along for a while and are now getting tired of acting the part. Defense is not something you can just pick up whenever you like - a fact they need to learn or face heartbreak again. |
Did anyone else wonder how in the world Bratt Favre made the Pro bowl? granted the jets are much better this yr but his qb statistics are at best average. I think Chad Penn def deserved it and one can even make a case for Cassel ahead of Favre. The pro bowl selection process looks more like american idol ![]() |
I predict Mike Dunleavy will be the next coach to go things are stinking in the Clippers locker room. |
y are d gals here celts supporters
cos we're Bostonians ![]() this thread has been runnin slow lately, has d recession started hittin this threadlol not only the recession, ice-storms knocked out power n cable n internet . . . some people I know have been in the dark 6days n counting. . . on a more serious note, apart from celtics games, i noticed most of the other games are now unpredictable, nobody is sure of winning anythingThe Rockets are wish wash . . . play well today, suck tomorrow. I have not seen any fire from them that indicates they're ready to be among the big boys club of the nba. The lakers achilles is still team defense. But the season is still young, they can still get better but the early indications are showing defense is not a habit easily picked up. Chiogo, no mind them everyone always hates the best team, but we shall stil overcome come june! Repeat! |
rikkyjen:have you been watching me? Infact not even a feather, I'd pour ice cold water on the poor victim ![]() Pittsburg did it against ALL the big boys? Definitely, not the Indianapolis Colts! except the Gospel according to JeSoul doesn't recognise the Colts as one of the big boyz and if your answer is in the affirmative, expect me to unleash a battery of "Ayamatanga" Tomahawk missiles on ya @ss!yes oh my gospel is missing that part . This gospel is updated weekly. I'll let you know in a month if that page ever existed or if my version is incomplete ayama wetin? my jazz will beat up your ayama and take his lunch money ![]() |
doyindamus:Yea I give it to ya, you did say some dopeness about the panthers while back. The AFC, i pick the Colts. . . .hehe Doyin stop encouraging Rikky ![]() |
LASIEFAIRE:My dear Lasie where hast thou been? I'm glad to read something from you and to know you're doing well. And simultaneously I'm bummed to hear you'll even be more scarce And I thank God for doing this wonderful mysterious thing for you . . . I'd like to hear this testimony when you hit me up aight? Let me thank God immensely for His goodness in your life. And may He continue to give you your hearts desire as you serve Him wholeheartedly, and as you bring light to those in darkness around you. Amen! My few months on Nairaland was/is great. The people I have chatted with are great. I wish to keep the relationship going-*blushing* You always have a special way of putting a smile on my face sweetie . . . this is why you can't leave, who'll keep me engaged with nifty signature updates? and who'll bash my Celtics along with Doyin? God will make sure you stick around . . . I am going to fast n pray and I'm glad you enjoyed the song, it'd be my honor to share some more of my music with you later since I know you're a music enthusiast. Ttyl baby boy |
LOL . . . I knew that post would smoke Rikky out ![]() Common boy, I know a 7-game winning streak is impressive by any standards, regardless of who it is against. My point is that the Colts of all the NFL teams have prob had the most favorable schedule down the stretch. And at least 4 of your earlier wins were barely scratched out. I don't call that a sure banker baby boy. . . . now we are heading into the playoffs, this is a whole nother story. As you head into the playoffs, you're not going to be facing Detroit and Jax anymore, which is why I said the winning streak will not be a good measuring stick to say how good they are or aren't. The Steelers have done it against all the big boys of the nfl, that gives them extra credit and confidence to go all the way to the SB. Everyone knows winning streaks in the regular season (while impressive) are meaningless in the postseason, whether na nfl or nba, and as a Pats fan I know that all too well. |
Billups has seriously invigorated the once useless Nuggets, I'll still need more evidence before I consider them one of big boys of the league. The Spurs have steered back on course . . . why did we ever doubt them? As for the east beating up on the west all I gats to say is: Was about time! For the past bunch of yrs all we've been hearing from the west is the east is weak, anybody can make the playoffs in the east . . . bla bla bla . . .hehe east coast bias in the house ![]() |
The Giants and the especially the Titans are limping into the playoffs. And why are we all sleeping on the 11-3 Panthers? they've somehow managed to stay under the radar. As for the AFC, the Colts could actually sneak past rd 1 as most playoff teams are looking questionable right now, but their recent wins have come against dirt like Det and Houston so those aren't good yardsticks to use to measure their veracity right now but it could go either way. Save for a fumble the Jets woulda started cleaning out their lockers . . . I expect a first Rd playoff exit. They're skittish and so are the Pats and Fins - all tied for #1. Overall I think the Steelers will come out on top the AFC. They always seem to find a way to make plays when it matters the most. |
A-40 whats going on in Dallas? reports of TO and Romo beefing? Week 15 Picks: TB @ ATL - I hope the Falcons pull this off, they're such a feel-good story SF @ MIA - May the Dolphins lose! we don't need anymore ties atop the AFC east BUF @ NYJ - Division rivals, it benefits my Pats if the jets lose to down favre. SD @ KC - SD is irrelevant DET @ IND - No one wants to be the team that loses to the wigers. WAS @ CIN - The skins should take this one TEN @ HOU - hehe I smell a blowout PIT @ BAL - Clash of the defenses, I'm going with Baltimore on this NE @ OAK - We need this in order to keep playoff dreams alive, and against the dysfunctional raiders, should be a W. NYG @ DAL - Game of the weekend, I'm going to say the desperate Dallas team will come out on top CLE @ PHI - McNabb add some more value to that offseason stock brotha. |
doyindamus:what? you didn't change the bulb? ![]() Tonight Bears vs Saints - both teams at 7-6, I predict a very interesting game. . . |
millco88:Bingo. I think that's what they're going for. The west is all about putting it up and I guess they're just trying to keep up? Like Lai said earlier, you need a balance of good offense and defense, the Suns just reduced in the latter category, and gained (yet to be proven) in the former. I guess we'll see as the season turns . . .
All in all i think looking at it in the long term Charlotte just might be getting a better deal because their roster gets a little deeper
Yeah perhaps long term. I think Brown is up to something . . . Carmelo dropped 33 in one quarter albeit against the T/WolvesMehn its hard for Melo to impress me. 33 in 1q is impressive sha. Denver is definitely better with Billups, #2 in the west right now i believe. But I don't think they'll stay in the top 4 by the end of the yr. |
FifiO:hehe what now? you don't think you sef can become a giant of the faith? ![]() |
Hmmm. . . Phoenix trades Diaw and Raja Bell to the Bobcats for Jason Richardson. Who is getting the better deal? Phoenix just traded away 2 of their top defensive players . . . does that make sense in the west where defense comes hard? They get some firepower with J.Richardson but in addressing one problem, they've created another. The bobcats -good or bad deal for them? they're not making the playoffs anyways. |
Chris, . . . and not trying to 'return' the compliment, but I think you're one of the most humble people in the religion section. I like that a lot in you, so keep it up! ![]() |
Inasmuch as i agree J.J is getting pretty senile and he was a bloodclot for calling the Barbarian soft because he was not the reason why the Cowboys lost on sunday i would advice you focus on your teddy bears because as things stand your chances of making the playoffs are lighter than Nicole Ritchie
LOL . . . Bawo are you going to let him yab your teddy bears like this? ![]() |
ah Doyin you're seeing dead people? should I call the jazzman? we can't afford to lose Doyindamus this close to the nfl playoffs, who else will speak and jinx the Giants team for me? ![]() |
wow A-40 you brought out a whip on Wade that's the harshest I've seen you write, but Wade sure deserved it, cheating on his wife n all . . . doyin13:hehe na you start am now na wa oo turning red in the face Doyin me I just be like the girl next door oh! and for all the kind fellas who queried, here's my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ed7-LP9G1I&feature=channel_page |
Trini girl, thanks! Image, I agreed as much that some good does come out of altar calls because God in His infinite mercies can use anything to save a person. BUT does the end justify the unscriptural means? God wants us to be in step with His word at all times, not deviating when whenever we like and then persisting in that deviation because some good comes out of it. No. God would rather have us walk at all times according to His word, and in that He will use us to draw men - through His Holy Spirit - to Himself, and not thru our carnal methods that produce half-baked, lukewarm converts whom God has promised to spit out His mouth. |
ibkaye:No. Please see this thread where the topic was dealt with extensively with scripture references. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-108212.0.html To those saying yes, why don't you follow all the other OT Laws? why pick out only tatoos? |
Rikky sabi talk oh no be small he even take style quote bible join put ![]() Who's talking about the Pats? I've already said 10 posts ago that I will consider it a bonus if we make the playoffs. We just pulled Junior Seau off his surfboard to plug in the injury depleted d-line . . . at this point, a realistic fan knows a playoff run is highly unlikely. As for your Colts, perhaps the football gods will allow you to sneak into the postseason via wildcard, but as for AFC championship, well, just let go of that fantasy Face it Rikky you'll soon be singing boyz2men . . . "end of the road" Abeg let me focus my hatorade on the giants, I'll focus on the colts should they grow a spine and silence naysayers like me. ![]() @A40 I will be surprised if the wigers win a game, may they be successful in their pursuit of imperfection. |
FifiO:Perhaps you were just caught up in the Spirit and taken to/shown a vision like Daniel, Peter, John? |
WadeFTW:I see it was my choice of words that was the issue. As for your 1st point, I say time will expose more which is which. I'm convinced our present bench will not be enuff for a repeat, but we'll see sha. - lack of something does not equal inconsistencyIt can depending on the context. For instance say the game vs the Pacers the bench drops 60pts, the next game they drop 10, in that game there was a lack of offense, and overall they are being inconsistent. I hope you see what I meant now.
He is European!! how does the typical European big man play? where do you watch your basketball sef?Dirk still has game he still puts up 20 + points 9 rebounds and 3 assists per night he is still Mr Maverick and still has game what we need to do is get rid of Jason Kidd he has been producing stinker after stinker
Doyin look at what you've done oh . . . |
Wade, you're funny, the way you consistently read more into my posts that I state. WadeFTW:my goodness you're a piece of work. When one says lack of offense does that = zero offense? whether na inconsistent or lack of offense, it equals the same thing in that the bench needs help.Even if you wanted to be nitpicky about my words, did I not break it down further to individual players? that Powe was good, Allen and House needed to step it up, but Davis & Scal are the real offensive liabilities? Na wah for you. You're just trying to be difficult. When the simple intent of my post was that the Celtics bench is our biggest weakness. omi tutu:hehe don't open that can of worms again ![]() |
rikkyjen:Well I wasn't sure if the fair-weather fan - also known as Rikky was around to enjoy all my trash-talking, besides all my hating is being directed at a recipient that actually poses a threat - the giants & I've been preoccupied with more worthy, good-story teams such as the Titans and Atl. You're winning against teams like Houston & Cincy and you get mouth to talk? Please page me when you face a real nfl team ![]() You're still fantasizing about an AFC championship . . . whatever it is you're smoking sweetie, you needs ta stop! |
WadeFTW:Lol you're funny. The Rockets are one of the top teams in terms of talent - what has that done for them? Talented inconsistent players do not win championships. It's apparent Doc doesn't make the right substitutions and he ends up getting outcoached on most occasions, yet Boston gets by b/c of the talent disparity. If Doc was consistent in his rotations then the reserves wouldn't show inconsistency to begin w/.what? So its Doc's fault some bench players are inconsistent? Statistically, I proved the Celts reserves have no problem scoring, proven wetin? b/c you said they had a "lack of offense from the bench". Those were your words. Then, you went on to say they were inconsistent?it is both. If you watched the last couple games the Celtics played we would not arguing about this becos it was blatantly obvious. I criticized your post b/c you blatantly declared the Celts as being an utter liability from the bench (offensively), which isn't nearly true.No. Re-read my post, I said Glen Davis was a offensive liability. Powe was great. Allen and House are nice but need to bring it every night. Where did you reach the conclusion I wrote off the entire Celtic bench? ![]() |
bawomolo:nobody go dash us, we go take am by force! ![]() |
WadeFTW:Oga Wade you're not listening to me, I did not say our bench is garbage, I said the bench is good, but it is not championship level yet! Obviously both the starters & the bench must be doing something very right with a 20-2 record I did not say either the Celtic bench does not outplay other teams on different nights, I said they are inconsistent! Drop 60 today and 10 tomorrow so obviously the averages will not show these inconsistent numbers. My simple point is this: the bench is good, but not ready to repeat. Kapish. If the Celts are losing leads like that, then the blame can only be put on Doc (he doesn't exactly have a good track record other than the championship season), b/c it clearly shows thats hes not adept w/ his substitutions. Perhaps he is leaving his second units to play w/ oppossing teams first units FOR TOO LONG. Hence why they lose leads. Simple.you were just quoting stats for me how the bench doesn't play long enough . . . now the story is if perhaps Doc is leaving them in too long? ![]() Celts fans are in no condition to complain.who is complaining? we are 20-2! I simply said the Celtics one weakness is getting consistent offense from their bench. Shikena. |
WadeFTW:lol . . . the reason Doc Rivers doesn't play them more is because they don't produce offense! They lose huge double digit leads and Doc has to quickly bring back the starters to stop the bleeding. Did you watch the last 2 games? esp last night? Jim O'brien's strategy worked to a T because he brought in his starters against the Celtics bench, and quickly the 1Q double digit lead evaporated. I'm not saying the bench is a complete wash out, Powe is great, and like I said House and Tony Allen are very good, they just need to be consistent every night. We're not trying to be an average team, but a repeat championship team. And you cannot do that with a half-baked, average bench. |
WadeFTW: I love Glen Davis but he's an offensively liability and so is the red head Scalabrine. House is great but inconsistent and so is Tony Allen. It's only Powe that I have confidence in to bring it every night. Nah depth is not a word I'd associate with the Celtics bench.
@Jesoul I am not sure the Cavs are as one-man as they where in 07 when they lost to the Spurs although i still agree the rest of the team is shyte but looking at last season's playoff series you and i know that homecourt was what saw you through against ATL and Cleveland y'all are still favorites though but not unbeatable
You certainly got that right. I think if they can somehow snag a proven veteran to help on reserve scoring, it'll go a long way. |
