Op, I share same believes with you. Though my own believe in female gender emancipation wasn't because females around me got subjugated in any form. I just believe that humanity stands to gain more from a world of gender equality. However, how many women are ready to embrace this gender equality we're talking about Believe me that a large number of Nigerian ladies are satisfied with their current place in the society as second fiddles to their male counterparts. Emancipation of the female gender also calls for change in the way certain things are done in the society. How many are ready to change![]() |
Poor healthcare system has claimed yet another young soul! And as usual, instead of attacking the root cause of the problem, the man on first page is busy blaming innocent witches and wizards! RIP to you lady. Your only mistake was being born a Nigerian. |
That's a good one Mr VP |
Yahaya Bello is becoming too foolish for my liking! |
That's a country that works! Serves him right! |
Professional qualifications are different from academic qualifications! In Nigeria, we like to turn things upside down! We borrowed western education from the west but we always try to pretend like though we are wiser than the west from whom we borrowed these things. In the west, you have no business in the academic environment without a PhD! |
Before now, Enugu state water cooperation used to be up and running. I don't know why successive PDP governments in the state decided to kill the agency even when they never provided alternatives. |
That's too bad! |
Are you kidding me?! |
perkyB:"Only God can judge" applies to only those who are not in the vineyard. God judges the criminal elements disguising as his servants through men! |
This is the handiwork of motivational speakers and yahoo boys! They're the cause and I can explain how. |
slawormiir:Real niggar! This is the problem with this generation of Nigerians. While you bomb and make money in hard currency, it is very important you keep it to yourself and stop discouraging or looking down on those who are working legitimately hard to earn their own living through different vocations. Everybody cannot be bombing, otherwise we'll have a very disordered and messed up society. Imagine a situation where lecturers now use the term "cash out" while teaching students in class. If doctors, teachers, lawyers, etc now start bombing and cashing out, do you think they'll have interest in studying and updating their knowledge to be able to treat you or your loved ones when you fall sick. When you flaunt your Benz and flamboyant lifestyles, always pause to think about how your attitude affects the society. In Benin city today, everybody want to "cash out". People are steadily losing interests in doing legitimate jobs because shallow minded people are glorifying those of you who are " cashing out ". I am not condemning you, my point is that you should do your thing without talking down on those who are hustling legit so we can have an ordered society. |
Nigerians should rally round Mr Yakassai and ensure he's released and freed from this abduction by the DSS. He's one of the few northerners that still keep the virtue of honesty with which northerners were hitherto known. |
Towerex:Your country has never been sane!!!!!!! |
careytommy37:That's the truth bro |
weedmanlive:COVID19 is very real! The reason for the low infection and death rate being reported by NCDC can be linked to poor healthcare seeking attitude of Nigerians and the fact that the disease has fatal effects mostly on those with co morbidity. What you see NCDC reporting are just the few individuals who managed to turn up at the hospitals and testing centers. The rest, had the sickness and majority recovered while a few died. Some who died were not reported. The majority of us acquired herd immunity and are now on our keyboards underplaying the disease because we already carry antibodies against it even without knowing. But bro, believe me when I say that COVID19 is real! |
Thumbs up to gburugburu on this one |
MrIcredible:Tramadol is not ordinary!!! If only majority of Nigerians understand the dangers of these drugs, they'll call for death sentences for anyone caught in aiding the abuse of these drugs. When those of us who understand these things raise alarms, gullible people would think that we don't want others to make money. You cannot be making money at the expense of other people's lives and sanity! Drugs are dangerous! Go to our hospitals and see people languishing in pains and hopelessness due to kidney failure, liver failure or failures of other vital organs! They're always on our TV screens soliciting for funds to aid their treatments. Go to our psychiatric hospitals too, you'll see them going psycho! They are people's brothers, fathers, husbands, uncles, sisters, wives, mothers! We can check these issues of drug abuse and even misuse by sanitizing our drug markets. Creating a sane society begins with fighting all forms of drugs and substance abuse! |
Tap0lane:Tell that to your father. Dundee! |
kayjay69:I agree with you on the issue of splitting or at least implementing regionalism where bulk of powers would lie within the different regions. Outright break up is not an easy thing o, but we can start from electing reasonable people into government and not crooks who are only interested in their selfish ends. |
Imagine the caliber of person some misguided and selfish Nigerians want to be the president of the country! If Buhari wants us to forgive the short comings of his government, then he should do everything to frustrate Tinubu and ensure he doesn't come anywhere close to aso rock. Instead of Tinubu, abeg give us Osinbajo! |
On paper Or for real![]() |
Wonderful! |
People resort to government work only when they have no choice |
Super woman! How many men can achieve that feat ![]() Just a few! |
There's indeed a thin line between life and death! These men were hail and hearty this time yesterday with different plans and dreams. And just this morning, they're gone! What a tragedy! RIP to the departed |
PoliteActivist:Those ones are there because the man is wealthy in billions. How many men out there are billionaires Besides, you and I don't know what's up in their home. |
Jonathan should be very wary of APC and their agents who want to set him up for disgrace! He should remain in PDP and even if he didn't fly the party's flag in 2023, he should remain in the party and play his roles as an elder statesman from there. |
dionma:All these guys that are always quick to talk about polygamy, are you all in tune with reality at all? You want to do polygamy in this era where women have opened eye? Even if you see ladies that agree to polygamy, you should honestly be wary! |
rotadeco27:I am not a JOHESU member for the records. But from my observation, the interprofessional rivalry in Nigerian healthcare was initiated and is being perpetuated by Nigerian doctors. Nigerian doctors are the ones who train the so called auxiliary nurses and use them as substitute for qualified BSc Nurses. Imagine if people begin to train "auxiliary doctors"! Go to private hospitals and you see doctors employ school cert holders to dispense drugs in their pharmacies which in most cases are not even registered by appropriate authorities, so who is now looking for trouble These practices have been going on and no one cared to correct them! Now, NMA is the one going about and complaining of the same problem they are architects of.Y’all continue to deceive government into pumping money into the sector, but the truth is that the problem of our health sector lies mainly with poor management and you and I know that doctors have been the ones mismanaging our health sector since time immemorial. If we had wise people in government, what they'll do is to first overhaul the management of the sector by employing seasoned healthcare managers with qualification in healthcare administration and management before investing money into the sector. |
No amount of investment in our healthcare system will work without checking corruption and selfishness of the managers of the system. Check how healthcare system of those countries that attract medical tourists are run. They have ROBUST systems where all the healthcare professionals work in harmony to render the best services to the patients (who are considered the kings). All the professionals know their jobs and stick to it, unlike here where the physician wants to become pharmacist whilst we are in short supply of experts in core medical specialties. Why can't we replicate same here? Let us understudy those countries where healthcare works (eg USA, UK and even India). What are they doing differently? Who are the people that MANAGE their health systems? Are they only doctors? My point is, we need to tackle MANAGEMENT problems and interprofessional rivalry in our healthcare system first before every other thing. Agreed there is need for improved funding but government should not just be investing money into a system with poor accountability. Otherwise, it will amount to wastage of funds. Creating a robust system where things work is all that is needed to put a stop to exodus of healthcare professionals because people will be happy to stay back. And how else can we create such working system if not by getting things right in terms of MANAGEMENT ![]() |
It is not just mere coincidence that we have more people collapsing and dying this period. COVID19 is real! Many of these people collapsing and dying now most likely had airways problems before. COVID19 came and many people didn't take it serious. Those who had strong immune system with no co mobidities recovered even after getting exposed to the virus. Those with airways problems who got exposed to the virus didn't get medical help until the virus did more damages to their airways and that is why we are seeing such people collapsing and dying now. RIP to the dead man |
