I must marry from this legendary Enugu-Ezike. Lol. |
I don't think it's the bank that's charging you that N5 (five naira) per response o! Because I also noticed the same thing while using Fidelity Bank's *770# on my Airtel line. If I don't have airtime, I won't even be able to use the code until I recharge. I'm suspecting these our networks. They didn't used to charge before. Or is it happening on Airtel alone? I think this is a new negative development. Maybe they're trying to take undue advantage of the rise in sms banking. |
You're asking what business you can do with N800,000 after being a nwa-bonyi since 2008? That's almost ten years. I'm disappointed in you nwanne. Well, I advice you to do business with only N100,000 out of that money. Another N100,000 should be set aside to take care of your feeding, transport, accommodation and other miscellaneous expenses. If the business you've chosen to do starts growing after six months, you can then pump in another N100,000 into it. Whatever you do, make sure you don't touch the remaining N500,000. Sorry, I won't be the one to tell you which business to do with your money. Your environment and the goods/services in high-demand in that environment will tell you which business to do. |
From the answers you've given to previous questions here, I've noted some shortcomings/loopholes. 1) This device is not really a POS machine. 2) It is not verified by the CBN or any Nigerian bank despite your claim. 3) It is not directly connected to any bank account. The e-wallet system is somewhat like a virtual bankless account that can vanish at any time. 4) There must be hidden charges you're not telling us about. All these notwithstanding, this device is a great idea that needs to be improved upon in Nigeria. |
Oxster:You for allow me land first na. Lol. Please read my full comment now that I've finished typing. |
Well, education in the broad sense of the word is not a scam. In Nigeria, people erroneously confine the definition of education to the walls of schools whether primary, secondary or tertiary. However, education encompasses vocational training (e.g. electrical works, tailoring, hairdressing etc) and even business apprenticeship (popularly called igba-bonyi in Igboland). In the final analysis, especially within the Nigerian context, I think tertiary education (in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education) is a scam. I think so because I've observed that in this 21st century, you can educate yourself both online and offline by reading relevant books and watching YouTube videos. If you're determined enough in your self-education, people will even assume you're a graduate when they see your handiwork and hear you speak using the appropriate terminology/jargons. Better still, companies will choose your expertise/experience over a graduate's certificate. Best of all is that in the long run you'll employ the first-class graduates to work for you. I think men like Innoson clearly exemplify what I'm trying to say here. This my opinion doesn't apply to professional courses like medicine and engineering o! Lol. |
For me, I'll prefer a separate room from my wife o! |
Tell them o! Lol. I had to breakup with my former girlfriend because she insisted on maintaining close contact with her ex. |
Something else I've observed is that people want to get results too quickly and therefore start too hard. What I mean is, most people want to start with 50 sit-ups on the first day of their exercise. When their body greets them with abdominal pains the following day, they then give up. Lol. The best way would be to start with 20 sit-ups, keep doing it everyday despite the pain for a week before increasing it to 30 the following week. Gradually increase it till you can do 50 by the fourth week. If you're in Agbani Enugu, I can be your fitness-trainer for a very affordable fee. |
Okonkwo and sons? Lol. I'm still curious about his signature red cap though. |
Nice. Lol. And blessed are the young, for they shall be the leaders of tomorrow. |
Good day. I saw this X-TIGI S18 with someone yesterday and I fell in love with it. Please is it available? How much is it?

Interesting. |
Eberex:Maybe the health or culture section. It doesn't matter anymore anyway since you can't modify the section now. But if you can change the sub-headings to questions. For example, instead of "Birthmark on forehead meaning", you use "Do you have a birthmark on your forehead?" Then at the end of the article, you end it by asking for people's opinions and their own beliefs about birthmarks. That approach'll make it more interactive and participatory for your readers. Isn't it strange that a post with 2,000+ views had no comment until I came along? Your wikipedia-like style must've intimidated all the other 2,000+ readers except me. Lol. Let me spice things up for you: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, SHOW YOUR BIRTHMARK. SHARE A PICTURE OF YOUR BIRTHMARK HERE. |
Eberex:Lol. Take heart my brother. I think you made the mistake of posting it in this "general" section. Many posts easily drown into oblivion here. Or maybe I was just destined to be the first to comment. Lol. Funny enough, I found it yesterday when I searched Google for information on birthmarks. I see it heading to front page soon as its very detailed and informative. |
Very very interesting. It seems it's my birthmark to be the first to comment on this nearly one year-old post. Lol. |
This thing happens to my cousin a lot too o! Whenever he takes too much beer (and trust me, he drinks about two bottles everyday), he suffers from malaria. He'll then abstain for about a week while treating it and returns back to his bottles the week after that and the cycle goes on and on. Lol. I think alcohol reduces the power of our immune system to fight diseases. That's my layman's view sha. Lol. Over to the medical experts in the house. |
Reporting to the Nigeria Police could be risky o! Lol. No Nigerian wants to be writing statements at the station or wants to be called as a witness in court. So I prefer reporting to an Environmental Health Officer as you've recommended. Or even better still, taking a picture of the corpse and posting it here on Nairaland. Lol. Nairaland is a powerful forum. I'm sure all the right authorities will do something about it. |
The best place to talk to yourself is when you're alone o! Otherwise, trust me, people'll think you're about to run mad. Lol. Except if you're a superstar like Mohammed Ali who'd shout "I am the greatest!!!" while people cheered him on. And the best way to talk to yourself is by making positive declarations about yourself early in the morning and late at night before sleeping. There's a term Norman Vincent Peale used to describe it in his best-selling book The Power of Positive Thinking. Can't remember it now. Christ Embassy also uses the positive self-talk a lot. They even have a section dedicated to it in their daily devotional Rhapsody of Realities. I used to be one of them, so I know. Lol. I agree that saying positive words to yourself really helps to condition the mind and boost self-confidence. |
AMALAR. My dad and our family will never forget what that drug did to him few years ago. Till tomorrow, no mention Amalar near my papa unless you dey talk about amala and ewedu. Lol. On a serious note though, my dad developed rashes all over his body after taking Amalar. It kept itching him and he kept scratching it. At first we thought it was the usual itchy side-effect of drugs like Chloroquine but we became scared when his skin peeled off as he scratched it. When my dad eventually got better, he swore never to take Amalar again. Meanwhile, my mom took Amalar and didn't react to it all. Same thing with me. I even took it recently (probably last week) without any rashes and itching so far. So I guess it depends on each person. Just like I heard that the almighty Chloroquine which makes me scratch even my palms and under my feet, doesn't itch some people. Is it really true that Chloroquine doesn't itch some people? Lol. |
Or if they keep messaging you "Hi" "Hi" "Hi" on whatsapp. Lol. |
I think it's easier to get a job or be offered a business opportunity via Nairaland than via LinkedIn. Update: Today is 18th April 2023 and a lot has changed since I made this comment in 2017. LinkedIn has become more popular than it used to be. I've also become active there www.linkedin.com/in/johncngene |
I make it a habit to brush before going to bed at night. It reduces chances of plaque and decay doing damage to my teeth overnight. If you're to brush only once daily, it's best to brush last thing at night. If you must brush in the morning, make sure you brush at night too. I've also noticed that too many people don't even know how to brush their teeth properly sef. Lol. People should at least google and watch YouTube videos on proper brushing techniques as recommended by dentists. |
What about an online market? Note that I didn't say "online store". The idea is to give a real market near you an online presence. For instance, if you choose AlabaMarket.com, you go to Alaba Market, meet the store owners one on one, tell them about your website, charge them a token fee to advertise their business on the site and then work hard to make your site the must-go-to site for all visitors and intending-shoppers of Alaba market. Do you understand? I experimented with this idea with a South-Eastern market two years ago but let it go because of lack of capital then. Sighs. So I want you to appreciate the fact that I'm offering you my brainchild here. Remember me in paradise. Financially o! Lol. |
I don't agree with you. Is God of War more popular than PES, Winning Eleven, Mortal Kombat or even Grand Theft Auto? I don't think so. Go to game houses and see people paying to play PES and Winning Eleven. If you ask them to change it to God of War, them go dey look you as if you dey craze. Lol. |
Well, you have a point. We need to work on our weaknesses and develop our strengths. A phlegmatic person, for instance, is very calm and thoughtful (strength) but very indecisive and procastinates too much (weakness). So they need to learn to take a decision and act on it immediately. |
Pavore9, we know and love. Who is Pavore8 again? Let's all try to be very careful here on Nairaland. There are many good Nairalanders and some bad members who are here to KILL reputations, STEAL monikers and DESTROY wealth. |
