PoliticsRe: Anambra State Govt To Jump-start The Onitsha Inland Port by jomoh:
Finally a thinking and sensible governor.

Large part of the huge revenue being generated by Lagos state comes from the presence of the sea port. OBJ during his time created dry ports in each geopolitical Zones. This was to decongest Lagos ports and allow other states to benefit from the huge potentials of the ports by loading cargos meant for a particular geopolitical zone on a cargo train to be cleared in the states where this dry ports are located in the geo polictal zone. Meaning that you don't have to ship to Lagos of you're in Kaduna or Borno or Rivers or Benue. Just ship directly to the nearest dry port to your state.

Apart from the huge economic advantages the states stand to gain, the risk and cost of shipping goods to states that are far from Lagos state will be highly reduced.

Unfortunately close to 10 Years since OBJ left the seat, no state governor has had the sense to see the potentials of this dry ports. The then Governor of Oyo state Gov. Ladoja was the only governor that initiated the construction of the ICD present in Oyo state. Unfortunately for the state, he was unceremoniously and illegally impeached only to be reinstated less than 8months to the end of his tenure.

We have mentally weak/lazy leaders leading us in this country especially the state governors.

Since the return of democracy in 1999, OBJ has being the best president Nigeria has had so far. His legacies and achievements are still very much visible even to the blind.

if Judiciary could be purged, why not Senate

I smh for Nigeria
The Senate can be purged but this is a war and a war requires strategy. Buhari is a military man that knows about war and strategy.

He started by going after the legislatives and the ex executives. The judiciary frustrated him so he went after the Judiciary. Now that they know there's no much refuge for them in the judiciary again, they're resulting to blackmail.

If saraki does not and up in kirikiri by 2019, then Buhari has failed woefully in his fight against corruption. If Buhari can play that joker by making sure saraki ends up in prison, he will win convincingly come 2019.

You're correct but what I meant is that even under PDP we hardly hear of intra party wars like this especially not in the early days of PDP.

For there to be internal rancor within the party it means one faction is doing something right while the other is fighting back.

With time people will know which faction is doing the right thing.

These are the initiatives of Mr Adesina under the last govt ..please get your fact right before trying to hype that complete liar and failure called Buhari
The same way he "completed" the rail lines without coaches to travel on it.

The same way he came up with TSA without implementation.

The same way he starved refineries of crude oil production.

You guys are simply shameless. Ideas are cheap but the person that has the guys to execute ideas to fruition deserves the glory.

GEJ completed rice mill since 2014 but did not produce any rice until ending of 2016. Almost 2years into PMB's administration. What kind of rice is it to produce that is taking 2years.

GEJ built rice mill but failed to provide the rice for them to mill.

Any nonentity can have a child but it takes a real father to provide for the child (feed, clothe, educate etc). With the kind of fund that was available to GEJ. Te could have built 10 rice mills and provide rice for them to mill. Instead he built a rice mill and still continued to use over a trillion Naira annually to import rice.

Does that make GEJ a same person or an insane one.

FYI the CBN under Buhari provided 25billion naira agricultural support for farmers to produce rice for the rice mill to mill.

You can do your research.

Sealeddeal:
A lot of sane Yorubas voted against Buhari and that's why he couldn't get more than 50% vote in many Yoruba states. The problem in Southwest is that after the fall of Ilorin, Islam was brought in Yorubaland with sword and threat of bloodshed making a lot of Yorubas turning themselves into Fulani slavish Muslims. They're the major problem in Southwest. Those people will vote for any Fulani Muslim irrespective of anything and they have money and media to spread lies. They're the people referred to as Afonja or Yoruba Muslims.
It is better you get an education about Yoruba race before you start spewing trash. Islam has been in the southwest long before the Alimi and Afonja saga.

Guess what? Islam never enslave anyone before converting them and nowhere in SW history was it written that Islam was forced on people either by Sword or Slavery. Unlike some religion that enslaved people to forcefully convert them and still keep them enslaved even after conversion.

Straw man fallacy.....

The socialist orientation is whats up for discussion. Not tribalistic arguments
Publications like this is the main reason why a Yoruba man will never like or trust people of eastern extraction.

Firstly Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is also a product of "Awolowo's socialist orientation".

Okonjo-Iweala was educated at the
International School Ibadan and Harvard University , graduating magna cum laude with an AB in Economics in 1976, and earned her PhD in regional economics and development from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1981. She received an International Fellowship from the
American Association of University Women (AAUW) that supported her doctoral studies. [5]

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngozi_Okonjo-Iweala

Oby Ezekwesili is also a product of the same "Awolowo's Socialist orientation".

"Ezekwesili holds a master's degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos , as well as a
Master of Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University . She trained with the firm of Deloitte and Touche and qualified as a chartered accountant. [2]"

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obiageli_Ezekwesili

Secondly Kemi Adeosun is not a product of "Awolowo's Socialist orientation". She never even schooled in Nigeria.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kemi_Adeosun

Thirdly, the budget and planning minister, the minister for industry, trade & investments, the governor at the Central Bank are all core and most vital members of the economic team and they are all from the east but the devlish writer chose to ignore the and include Fasola a minister of works.

What you should have said is that they are more difficult to read, not difficult to speak or understand, because you would hear the tonal differences.
To read however, would be harder without the tone markers.

I have never seen any Yoruba speaker confuse Oko (Pen!s) with Oko (Car) before.
you're very correct

But then again for you to be able to read you must have a deep understanding of the language which goes back to what I said initially about deep understanding.

Most languages has same pronunciation but different meaning.

In Edo,

Ogba= Tap water
Ogba=Complete
Ogba=Fence

Oka=Maize
Oka=Dry
Oka=Ring
Am not disputing that but Yoruba has one of the most if not the most in Nigeria.

By the way Edo and Yoruba have history together so you can say they may have close level of difficulty.

What makes every language more difficult is the reception and support you recieve from it natural speakers when learning it.

any language that carries tone marks on it's letters are usually more difficult because each Mark represents a tone and the more you change the Mark the more the tone changes and invariably the meaning of the word.

Yoruba is a cool language and it's not difficult to understand.
Yoruba is quite hard to deeply understand but what makes it easier to understand on the surface level is the fact that you get encouraged by people who corrects you when you make mistakes instead of making fun of you.

Another great factor that boost your understanding of Yoruba is the fact that Yoruba people chat alot either with their own or not. Either you understand fully or not they will try to include you in their conversation and take their time to explain to you.

without those factors, Yoruba is one of the hardest languages in the world.

for example "OKO" can mean up to 7 different things

oko- husband
oko- farm
oko- how
oko- pen!s
oko- stone
oko- vehicle
oko- (a pparticular number I can't remember)

OGUN

ogun- god of iron
Ogun- charm
Ogun- inheritance
Ogun- ogun state
Ogun- war

AYO

ayo- happiness
ayo- game
ayo- a particular kind of metal bowl

this is just 3 out of dozen of words like those above.
CultureRe: Feminism: Operationally Contradictory? by jomoh: 9:25pm On Dec 12, 2016
couliss:
Feminism is the belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes.
Feminist activism is the struggle for that equality.
Feminist political activists campaign in areas such as reproductive rights, domestic violence, fairness, social justice, and workplace issues such as family medical leave, equal pay, and sexual harassment and discrimination.
That is feminism how can anyone not support FEMINISM.
Reproductive rights- am not sure I know what that means

Domestic violence- not only women suffer domestic violence. Men too suffer domestic violence (and yes on a large scale). The last time it was a prominent figure in Kenya was appealing to Kenyan women to stop beating up their husbands.

Rape- men too get raped every now and them but the fear of being judged and being labelled a sissy is what makes most men to not speak up.

medical leave- are you serious about this? is there anywhere in the world where men get more medical leave than women. The one I know is women getting maternity leave and men not getting paternity leave.

Equal pay- again is there anywhere or profession where men get paid more than men.

sexual harrassment- even though it is a predomonatly female problem but it should not be perceived as an issue exclusive to the female gender.

You see the main reason people see this Feminism being floored is the unity of purpose. You speak to a self proclaimed feminist today, she gives you a definition of feminism. Then you meet another feminist tomorrow, she gives you another definition that is quite contradictory to the first one. Then you meet another feminist who then gives you another definition that is quite confusing.

In the end, you are there asking yourself. What really is this FEMINISM all about?

I have listened to the arguments by Feminists over the years and have reached the simple conclusion that it is a very flawed subject. I have asked myself many times, and will ask again: what exactly do feminists want?

A Christian, I will draw my creation story from that handed down to us in the Holy Bible, which tells of how the man was first created, and the woman created FROM him to be a help meet for him. Now, this in no way prescribes a particular pattern of inordinate overlordship, but it does clearly state a hierarchy. This fact is alluded to in other chapters of the Bible, opening up the debate of who is actually superior between the male and female genders. I will attempt to answer that question. None
.

This is what we want! Don't treat us like we are inferior to you(men)

They want some reservations made for them in government, reservations they will enjoy not because of their abilities, but because they are women! They want to get into male dominated jobs, not because they are physically suited to such, but because they want some representation to hype their ego

Are you saying we are lesser or inferior intellectually that we can't have a place or a say in government on merit?

Lalasticlala.
Every human being is inferior to one another in one way or the other.

We are stronger than one another in one way or the other.

Research has it that some women endure pain than men going by the pain they go through during child birth.

In view of the above, let me now ask you. Do you believe men are generally mentally stronger than women.

Nope you are not wrong smiley.....but.....I don't agree with the asking out Part tongue
See ur tongue. So na only men supposed dey face rejection abi.

So you see why feminism is operationally contradictory. As long as it is not absolute. As long as you have a reservation about an aspect of a man's life that you cannot do.

Someother feminist somewhere will have another reservation about another thing that man does that they cannot do.

On a second thought, after carefully seeing most of your reply on here. I think you're not really a feminist. I think you're just here to have fun by tagging people along. e be like say I dey whine people ni joor.

How am I being contradictory? huh
first you said you're a feminist, you can anything.

Then someone talked about ladies wooing guys and not able to handle the rejection, you now said that is why you advice ladies not to try to woo guys.

If you can do anything, you should be able to woo guys and handle the rejection well;

You should be able to take guys out on a date and pick the bills even when his friends chooses to tag along or decides to show up unannounced.

You should be able to pick up his bills, even the smallest of them which is to recharge his phone and pay for his tfare anytime he comes around and whenever he's leaving.

You should be able to do this without making him feel less of a man because that is also part of being treated "equally and fairly(feminism)".

or am I wrong in my submission?
