If they met 1 trillion naira in the treasury they will not announce it. He criticised & insulted Jonathan until the man left there. Instead of him to look forward & tackle the task before him, he is still looking backward. With all the insult this man pronounced on Jonathan, I thought we will be living in paradise by now. The federal character commission should first focus their attention on the lopsided nature of the appointments made by Buhari as it relates to headship MDAs(Ministries, Departments & Agencies) & this one made by GEJ & tackle them together. Both are of equal importance. We need to check impunity in this country. If they cannot query the present lopsided nature of appointments made by Buhari, they have failed in their constitutional responsibilities & should be disbanded because they were set to prevent this kind of situations.

Truth is that PMB is unfortunately not a nationalist. They have started attacking militants from the Niger Delta. I am not from there but the question is, is he justified to do that? I remember vividly that when the Boko Haram insurgents were being tackled during the immediate past administration, PMB cried out that it was a war against the north. Right now he is leading the fight against the same insurgents. Some of us don't have shallow memory. Virtually everything they criticised is what they are doing. If he tags the fight to make the north east safer by GEJ administration as war against the north, then I put it to him that his battle against the Niger Delta militants is a war against the southern part of Nigeria. So sad to say that my believe in project Nigeria has been dampened since the rule of POI began because of the lopsided appointments he has made. He has a pass mark in the war against corruption but success in one course is not enough to take you to the next class. Above all I admonish them to strive to practice what they preach. If the do, an Amaechi should not be a minister of the FRN based on the report of the judicial commission of enquiry in River state. If he was not an APC man I am sure he would have been in trouble by now.

EFCC detectives probe five choice assets in Port Harcourt

Detectives have been deployed in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, in the ongoing probe of former Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Of interest are five choice houses believed to be Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s.

It is all part of the last leg of the investigation of the ex-minister in collaboration with the National Crime Agency in the United Kingdom.

Amid the Port Harcourt operation, another asset of the ex-Minister in Abuja, allegedly worth over N500million, has been confiscated pending her trial.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had earlier seized a mansion worth N3.58billion from the ex-minister, bringing the haul in Abuja to about N4.08billion of assets believed to be hers.

The EFCC received intelligence report on the property allegedly acquired by Mrs. Alison-Madueke in Port Harcourt.

The tracking of the assets is said to be part of the probe of about $10billion allegedly looted in cash and assets by some former public officers.

The properties under surveillance in Port Harcourt are said to be worth over N3billion

A top source in EFCC, who spoke in confidence, said: “Based on latest intelligence, we have been able to trace more choice assets to Mrs. Alison-Madueke in Port Harcourt. We have drafted more operatives in Rivers State.

“We have identified more than five of such assets but we need to verify the ownership by going through some documents before attaching the properties in line with our mandate.

“In the next one week, our team in Port Harcourt would have completed their assignment. We will then release the value of the assets.

“We are also on the trail of some accomplices who were used for the property deals.”

Responding to a question, the source said: “We are still working in collaboration with NCA in the UK. I think we are getting closer to the final leg of the Mrs. Alison-Madueke probe.”

Another property, which is believed to be worth N500million, has been seized from the ex-minister.

The source said the property is believed to be at Frederick Chiluba Close in Asokoro District in Abuja. The asset is now placed under interim forfeiture until the court decides otherwise,” he added.

Sections 28 and 34 of the EFCC (Establishment Act) 2004 and Section 13(1) of the Federal High Court Act, 2004 empower the anti-graft agency to invoke the Interim Assets Forfeiture Clause.

“Section 28 of the EFCC Act reads: ‘Where a person is arrested for an offence under this Act, the Commission shall immediately trace and attach all the assets and properties of the person acquired as a result of such economic or financial crime and shall thereafter cause to be obtained an interim attachment order from the Court.’

Section 13 of the Federal High Court Act reads in part: “The sourt may grant an injunction or appoint a receiver by an interlocutory order in all cases in which it appears to the Court to be just or convenient so to do.

”Any such order may be made either unconditionally or on such terms and conditions as the Court thinks just.”

The NCA in the UK arrested and quizzed Mrs. Alison-Madueke and four others on October 2, 2015 for alleged bribery and corruption and money laundering.

Also the EFCC has interrogated three to five more suspects since the interrogation of Mrs. Alison-Madueke by the NCA.

The NCA last year obtained permission from a Westminster Magistrate’s Court to seize 27,000 pounds from Mrs. Alison-Madueke and two other women.

One of the major issues that will affect APC in this election is hunger in the land. An hungry man is definitely an angry man. Buhari has not been treating people from this part of Nigeria equally the way he is treating the northerners such that many people in this part of the country who are sincere with themselves now see APC as a northern/muslim party. The main problem that the comrade now has is that he probed his predecessor in office & thoroughly rubbished the man. The same is staring him in the face because POI has already threatened to probe him if elected. This explains all the battles he has been fighting regarding his successor.

INEC sources speaking to SaharaReporters confirmed that neither the DSS nor the Nigeria Police Force consulted with the commission before advising it to postpone the election. INEC, however, was aware of the security report issued by the two agencies.

Saturday’s election between Godwin Obaseki (APC) and Osagie Ize-Iyamu (PDP) is expected to be tightly contested, with both camps engaging in last-minute efforts to secure victory.

President Muhammadu Buhari visited Benin City on Tuesday to address a rally in support of the APC candidate. In anticipation of the rally, the APC reportedly paid each Local Government coordinator N5 million to “mobilize” a crowd for the president Buhari though the attendance in the was impressive but it yielded poor support for APC's candidate regardless.

Meanwhile, PDP governors have been pumping funds into local government areas surrounding Benin City, claiming that the party has made progress that would defeat the APC on Saturday.

At the time of reporting, INEC has yet to make a statement officially postponing the election, although a source at the agency admitted that the security report has psychologically demobilized its workforce.
However, its officials, including the chairperson and four national commissioners, plan to remain in Benin City until a final decision is made.
