Thank you for responding. I have communicated with several independent schools in the local vicinity of my school and at least 4 of them have confirmed that they have space for the 3 kids. We have not pinned down one because we would like to see the schools before we decide. All the schools have wraparound care till 6pm for the toddler and 6.30 pm for the older kids. We are also considering getting a nanny if necessary to help with any clashes with my school timetable.

Good evening everyone! Please I need help as I am currently in a dilemma with UKVI issues.

I moved with my spouse to another African country about 2 years ago after he got a better job offer here. We are blessed with 3 kids aged 8, 6 and 2. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a job here, (the country has a small economy), so I decided to switch careers to give myself a better chance of getting a good job.

I then applied for an MSc in the UK, and was able to secure admission, get my CAS and apply for my visa. We also applied for dependent visas for our kids but not for my husband, considering he has a good job which would also fund the expenses for myself and the kids. He also has a subsisting visit visa.

However, we received the notification email today that 2 of our kids' visas were denied dependent visas based on Paragraph ST34.2 of the Immigration rules and based on the following statement: " I am not satisfied that the required level of documentation has been shown in order to prove that your mother has sole responsibility. " We are yet to receive any information on the application of the 2 year old.

Please bear in mind that the supporting documents for the kids' visa applications were from both parents and we even indicated in their forms that we both have parental responsibility for the kids. I do not have sole responsibility for the kids, neither did I claim that in our applications. We also included details of my husband's job and the necessary documents pertaining to that.

In applying for the visas, we read all the requirements on the GOV.UK website but none of the information on the student visa/dependent partner of a student/ dependent child of a student mentions anything about this issue.

Now, we are at crossroads because based on this rule, the interpretation is that the other parent, who is not the main applicant must be willing to be a dependent, which would necessitate them living in the UK with the main applicant and the child dependent(s). This is not an option for us. Also, the kids cannot remain with my husband due to the nature of his job, as it requires a lot of travelling and we do not have any form of social/family support here, as all our family members live in different countries.

The only exception to this rule is subparagraph (C) of Paragraph ST34.2 of the Immigration rules which states that, "unless the decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who
has permission on the Student route or as a dependent partner of a Student."

We do not know what to do next, whether to write to the Home Office directly, apply for an administrative review or reapply for the visa based of the provision in subparagraph (c) as we do not know if our situation constitutes serious and compelling reasons to grant the exception. So far, what I have read online depicts circumstances that are very different from ours.

Please, help a sister! I am trying to be a supportive wife, good mother and still want to build a life for myself. Please anyone with any advice/experience on how to tackle this issue. I would deeply appreciate it. May God bless our hustle!

Considering your monthly income per month in dollars (650 rate), you earn $3100 monthly, over there after expenses and deduction of tax you will still have above $10,000 to save, so If you have a genuine or illegally means to leave Nigeria please do it without looking back.

That does not change jack, immigration officer at POE or exit can ask you for anything including taking you to toilet to search you.

Some of you don't know those are Pre departure conditions ( Conditions before Visa issuance) Once your Visa is issued it has nothing to do with them.
That is why you open your self to all sorts of exploitations

You are wrong and you are misleading people.

Immigration officer at POE can ask you for anything, they can delay you as long as they want until they get a satisfactory answer from you. There is very little you can do other than corporate with them.

Yes you can live in Leeds and commute to Bradford though it will cost you a bit unless you don't look at price tag. Its about 20mins by train and 45mins by bus. This is the wrong time to look for student accommodation as demand is very high now

And hey, these are my observations when I visit the UK often, I don't live there, and I have no data to back it up, so please take it at a face value.

Maybe he did not start searching for job on time and allowed his visa to expire or he did not graduate with good results or he gave up searching after few rejections

I'm not sure i agree with you on that. I have never bought or seen a phone with network insignia on it, if its network restricted you will see that in phone setting but not anywhere else.

Phones comes now without network restriction even those you get on contract came be unlocked before the end of your contract.

After his student visa expired he was unable to switch to other type of visa or get a job to extend his stay. Though i think he will not be deported since his MP has got involved and considering the fact that he has a daughter here

- US network branded
- Know importer directly

Any other unbranded device, can come from anywhere..........

once the network restriction is removed from phone i don't think one will be able to know where that phone came from.

The usual giveaway is the adapter and sometimes dual Sim tray else you hardly can tell where the phone came from.

@bolded…. I deal on this in Nigeria here. Don’t know if the reason for the term is that the first used phones were brought in from UK, same as using “Belgium used” for cars. But I can authoritatively say for a fact that 80% of used gadgets are actually from the USA. The term is always funny to me tho

Like Canada, Australia, US. I'm not very conversant with European countries but I heard that Ireland, Netherlands give that opportunity. Something about an EU Blue card.

But leave the UK alone. The schools make the bulk of their revenue from international students. Once that revenue stream dries up, it may make them change their current policies. Same way it pushes them to reinstate the postgraduate 2 year visa.

They are all the same also the same Nigerians who will never research or prepare financially before traveling. The UK gives you time to work during and after your graduation the same way Canada and Australia do but the question is.. did you take advantage of it? Travelled with enough money to sustain you? Did you study a course that will help you get employment? If you spent more time working than attending lectures or study groups then how do you expect to do well?

How will anybody spend 15-20 million naira to study abroad without proper planning? That person is a thief, he/her did not work for that money.

I said this earlier as well when I said I regretted doing a Master's in UK. Total waste of time and money. School in a country that would give you the opportunity to emigrate.

People that it works for are medical people, Big 4 accountants, IT people.
