akari01: @justwise, for real Kai!! You are just impossible.....wey we dey hail say you don handle the matter wella comot am from the thread so that the thread can move on? Wetin? See, from what you mentioned on the thread, visa cannot be tracked on nairaland. Info cannot be sourced if you don’t start from page 1 or ask questions again...i suffered that here and i can tell you i easily found resources on expatforum, pomsinoz and the rest. What’s bad if such is proposed, except you feel its a personal attack on NL. It doesn’t reduce the relevance of NL. It won’t. Haba, guy. Let this rest. So you think i'm doing all these because of what? Do i make a penny from nairaland? How will taking traffic away from nairaland help this forum? Do you know how websites attract advertisement? Visa and info can be sourced if somebody is willing to keep track and update it then re-post it as the thread moves from page to page. This is what members in Canadian student visa thread are doing and in US visa thread they achieved all interview transcripts posts and update it then the link will be available in first page. If you are Seun will you be happy to have a thread here moved to another forum? |

Bamz: Justwise,
Kind sir, I'm baffled by the turnaround you made again after I was grinning that the issue at hand was taken to a separate place for discussion.
While I understand that a lot of things may irk you as a mod, esp having to deal with all kinds of personalities, it's still in the best interest and greater good of visitors and contributors to this thread that other side conversations with the potential of derailing the thread be taken elsewhere.
I'm willing to trust your judgement on this.
Thank you. I'm really disappointed with many people here to say the least, i hardly visit this thread because i honestly believed that its in good hands but i was wrong. I never knew about the plan to move this thread outside nairaland until today. |

I'm sorry but you are wrong, the idea of the forum was clear and does not need interpretation, they want to move this thread to an independent forum. You can track all visas here and achieve info. I'm surprised that many shouting don't close this thread because our lives depends on it was supporting moving the same thread out of NL yrs ago but couldn't do it. EMEH-JOSHUA is my real surname while UGOCHUKWU is my first name. PEACE is my middle name.
But on the certificate, my first name was silenced as an E. While surname was misspelt/ had an error as EMEJOSHUA. They didn't add the "H and -".
The affidavit was issued by the High Court in Umuahia, Abia state, Nigeria and I traveled to Abuja to get it Authenticated at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

iceberg54: I have tried to refrain from speaking about this issue but this comment of yours is sickening.
You said a few hours ago that you don't want this thread derailed, yet you went to dig this up? What part of "Please note that nothing has been concluded or decided yet. this is just an idea for us to consider" did you not understand? So I guess you'll go through every previous comment on this thread just to prove a point? Who exactly are you trying to impress? Is this like a competition or what? I don't understand.
The way you have been deleting comments, fighting everyone on the thread and your absolute lack of respect makes me wonder why you're even a mod.
Can you please respect your own rule and stop instigating what you won't be able to handle? What you're doing currently is bullying and deliberately provoking people. ( which is against Rule number 2)
Thank you. This issue is at the heart of this thread and related to what is happening now. Whether nothing was concluded or not is irrelevant, if you attempted to a steal and failed that doesn't take way the fact that you are a thief. Recently they designed another immigration website with an email address dropped here many times. I hardly visit and read this thread only when issue is reported because i thought many here can be trusted to do the right thing. Reading that thread i noticed that many here supporting bellong supported the idea of moving this thread to another forum. |

This will enable us interact better and track posts effectively. Feature will include but not limited to
-better tracking of each NOC information. -categorisation of each subject matter -Easy navigation for new comers -Archivable content. -Avoid repetition of same issue over and over again, we can have "how to sections" for most used assessing bodies. -profile progress tracking -ITA dates countdown. - ......and so much more.
This site will require all our effects to thrive as a community and this will require commitments from some users to acts as mods and supermods and champions I have to warn that this new community will not be a walk in the park but it will be an interesting walk for us all.
Suggestion for site new is needed. Volunteer for Mods, Supermods, and champions (People with vast knowledge of a particular assessing authority)
The idea is to have a platform like [url]www.migrati.. that will be information rich
Please note that nothing has been concluded or decided yet. this is just an idea for us to consider So this is what has being going on here since 2017? And today many of you are pretending as if closing this thread was end of the world while you planned to move it away from nairaland 3yrs ago. |

As you can see, the thread is moving on with people already giving guidance to questions asked, so we know the thread will survive with or without @bellong. Why not reinstate his access to the group, if he so wishes to still contribute? People who are just joining the train will gain from his experience and knowledge, not as a stand-alone “know-all” as you had opined, but as a contributor just like everyone else. And thank you for posting decently on here; i appreciate that its devoid of insults. Thank you also for doing your bit as moderator and upholding the rules. Please look at the rules again and plug the loopholes too. I did not make that rule, in fact i wan't even a mod when those rules were made and there is nothing wrong with those rules. No advertisement means no advertisement whether you put it on your signature or post it in threads it serves the same purpose . His ban has been reduced to 4days and i'm pretty sure that this is going happen again as some people deliberately refused to accept the reality. There are other people involved in the immigration partnership hence the drama this issue generated. People get banned for the same offence and they remove the ad and ban removed so nothing new here. |

Good evening. I have been seeking solution to an issue I have and then I stumbled upon this thread. I have authenticated all my documents at the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs respectively in Abuja and have booked for pre enrolment and legalization at the Italian Consulate in Lagos. However, I am a little bit worried about my own case. In my WAEC certificate, my name was misspelt/ incomplete and I have been using it that way over the years (sat for the exam in 2003) but now, preparing to go for pre enrolment next week, I am now bothered. In my WAEC, my names were spelt as EMEJOSHUA U. PEACE instead of EMEH-JOSHUA UGOCHUKWU PEACE which are my names in full and are on my other documents including international passport. I have sworn an affidavit for correction of name which stated that the both names on the certificates refer to same person. I have also translated it to Italia and authenticated it at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please is this going to pose a threat to my application chances? I am going for an M.Sc in Global Environmental Change. Your response will he highly appreciated. You have done the right thing by doing affidavit, i don't think there is any more you can do as i understand that its very hard to get correction done with WAEC . Which one is your first and last name? |

bellong: @Goodmemory,
This is your comment on the DIY thread. I am disappointed that you can make an assumption for a fact. In addition, you made hasty conclusion based on a one-sided story. I thought, fair hearing entails that the other party be given an opportunity to present his position before a verdict is passed.
To set the record straight, for a start, I NEVER HAD ANY PRIVATE CHAT WITH THE MODERATOR. Where you got that from, I can't say.
This is my side of the story to put things in perspective as you have crucified me to have flouted rules and deserved a punishment.
Few days ago, I logged on to Nairaland and saw Justwise has posted in the thread accusing me of turning the thread to my personal business among other accusations. He asked that I remove the ad in my signature which he claimed violates rule number 6 (I will address his false interpretation of the rule later). Knowing who he is and I was not ready to engage him in any discussion, I attempted removing the ad in my signature immediately I read his comment but I discovered that he already banned me and I couldn't edit my profile because it greys out. I also couldn't post in any section on the forum like now, so I couldn't let him know that the ban prevents me from editing my signature.
After several tries with no success, I gave up on editing the profile. Thereafter, I had a discussion with Bnimz explaining why I couldn't edit the signature. Bnimz informed Justwise on the Living in Australia thread because he had removed the DIY thread. Despite explanation, Justwise insisted that it is possible and I have to do it before the thread can be released or ban lifted. He didn't change his rigid position until Bnimz volunteered to be banned to test his claim. Bnimz was unable to edit his signature too making my claim true contrary to what Justwise wanted people to believe. It was after that he lifted the ban.
Bnimz informed me that the ban has been lifted, I logged in, edited the signature immediately to remove the ad. After removing the ad, I addressed Justwise false accusation and character assassination against me. He accused me of collecting money from people on the thread before answering their questions. He accused me of turning the thread to my personal business and that I refused to carry out his instructions. I put only one challenge to him. I asked him to point out ONLY ONE PERSON, I collected money from on the thread before I answered his questions. The challenge is to just point out one person I charged on the thread but he hid my post and went ahead to ban me again till 2021 like he did previously. In the post, I also point out my observation about the skills he lacks which will be useful for him in life. I finally addressed the ad accusation based on Nairaland rules.
In all these, I don't understand what I did wrong to justify Justwise's personal attacks against my person calling me a not straightforward person. I have not had any personal dealings with you neither have I exchanged any emails with you. To conclude I am not a straightforward person is way beyond your boundary and it is slanderous. Doing your job as a moderator doesn't come with the right to accuse people falsely or assassinate their character. If you were objective and sincere with what you did, you should have left the only post I made on this matter. You hid the post but went ahead to tell lies about the turn of events knowing well that I had no opportunity to present my version which is verifiable.
My challenge still stands, please name just one person that I collected money from. If you don't or can't, you owe me an apology. I will not address your handling of this issue because you have shown to be not capable of engaging in logical and intellectual discussion.
To address the supposed rule flouted. There are 22 rules governing operations on Nairaland. These rules are not specific to a section, they are sitewide rules.
Rule no 6 states: "6. Don't post adverts or affiliate links outside the areas where adverts are explicitly allowed." This rule 6 does not exist in isolation, you need to read subsequent rules to under the "explicitly allowed" areas for ads. The rule also shows that free ads are allowed in certain areas.
Rule no 12 states - "12. Don't insert signatures into your posts. Instead, add the desired signature to your profile."
The rule clearly states "Desired Signature". I never posted ads in the wrong areas but I chose my desired signature which is protected by Nairaland rules but Justwise took offence with my signature. I didn't not post an advert on the thread and I wouldn't because I understand the rules and I am always for upholding the rules. Nowhere in the 22 rules says anything against ad in the signature. Reading through all sections on Nairaland including the travel, thousands of people have ads in their signature and they have not been banned by mods or supermods to show they didn't violate any rule. People get banned because they post advert in comments and wrong threads. Saying I violated a rule is uncalled for. Despite this, I agreed to remove the ad from my signature which I did but it wasn't enough for him but to attack my person.
I think it is more than the supposed broken rules. If you have anything against me, you should be able to address it than hiding behind a rule to attack my character.
I believe no one is indispensable and I have never acted or make people believe I am indispensable. I am confident that the thread will move on without me as it was before me. However, I believe credit should be given where it is deserved. To some, the best way for Justwise to go about this issue is to attack my personality, ban me without giving me opportunity to fair hearing and also to talk down on people with contrary opinion. If I didn't know about the rules, the best option is to give an opportunity for me to correct the error or mistake and not just pass a verdict in addition with derogatory comments and character assassination. It is pathetic to say the least.
I still maintain my position, I don't care if I am banned, but I do care if he removed the thread. The thread doesn't belong to me. It is a collective efforts of different people who have contributed their personal experiences. Deleting a thread because of the alleged offence of one person is taking decision too far. As it is, part 1 of the thread is still hidden which shouldn't be so. I will make it clear, the thread doesn't belong to me, it belongs to every single person that contributed on it, so you have no right to remove the thread.
This is my position. I have many things to say but Will keep them to myself.
I am still banned from posting in the travel section which is why I am putting the post here. I need to set the record straight against all the accusations, assumptions and derogatory opinions.

These are all the monikers I can see that contributed to the story. The others are hidden. You just lied to people (unfortunately majority of them will believe you), Goodmemory was not far from the truth apart from the private chat comment. Yes you advertised in that thread and dropped an email address linked to an immigration service website, you stated it clearly on your signature and your profile that you will charge for consultation, that is called an advertisement( rule number 6) Don't you think that it makes no sense to challenge me to point out one person you collected money from? Did you advertise your services for charity? Does it become an ad when you collected money from people who contacted you? Rule number 6 is clear and apart from that..there is a polite warning in red that says: Please do not post adverts in this section, to avoid being banned each time you quote or reply a post you will see it on top of the text-box. So you do not need additional reminder about the rules or clarification. You have been here for almost 10yrs the same year i joined nairaland and i never place ban on you until few days ago, i did not call you not straightforward human being as you falsely stated, you called me names..apparently i ack the capacity to engage in a reasonable and intellectual discussion. |

My colleague attended the programme a few months back and applied for her baby, her visa was granted but the baby was denied because her husband wasnt applying and the requirement is that both parents have to be in the UK or both parents are applying for the visa or the applying parent can prove sole responsibility for the child or special circumstances. Her husband lives and works in the UK and could not come just to apply for the visa.
I'm in the same boat now and i need advise please! Apply with a letter from your husband explaining why he couldn't go with you but you need to make an arrangement for child care in the U.K else your baby's visa is likely to be refused |

@Justwise, please give Bellong a second chance. He has been really helpful around here and always willing to help out. I have been visiting Nairaland since 2005 and a large part of the time was spent on travel section. In all my experience here, there are very few people who are as resourceful and genuinely helpful as Bellong. I don't really know what happened, but I know he is a very reasonable person and should be able to put things in order if given the chance to. I know him to be a very humble person.
Please consider the plea of the people here including mine. In the little I have read of this whole saga, I haven't seen anyone who has come here to accuse him or justify the ban. Majority supports that he is given a chance. If he is really of a questionable character, many people would have flooded the thread with many accusations.
If he has personally offended you in any way, please forgive him and let's put this whole phase behind us. If there is any condition that you want him to meet before you release him from the ban please make it clear just as you stated what you want before the thread was opened. Thank you Justwise as I hope you consider our plea. let me just say this for the last time.. Bellong was given enough time to remove the ad BEFORE the ban, when i made the first post regarding this issue bellong wasn't online and i waited for him to log on, hours later i checked and noticed that he has logged on without addressing my post THEN i posted again about closing this thread and opening another one still bellong did not respond, it was at that point that i banned him and hid this thread. After my exchange with Bnimz and email discussion with tunlex01 i reopened this thread and unbanned bellong. Hours later he responded only to throw insults at me, denied posting an ad here and say that he doesn't care about the ban. Let me add this..if this thread will go down because bellong is not here again then so be it. No one person is bigger than this thread or nairaland. |
