We all know that our country's army can't compare with those of the U.S and Germany, but the Nigerian Army has proven over and over again that it definitely cuts it mettle in sub-saharan Africa. As for what defines ''international standard'', i propose we leave that topic for another day. But for our very own president to go abroad and publicly belittle the army of the country which he gorverns, now that is an INSULT. - Prof. West may not be the right person to point it out; you could even accuse him of speaking out of spite if you want. BUT does not change the fact that our eediot of a president committed a horrible blunder. It is the height of stupidity and tactlessness. Lets call a spade a spade. |
Where exactly is this please? |
@ALL, Folks, this thread is too serious to be reduced to another male/female emancipation tussle. Not to belittle the seriousness of said ''tussle'', but it isn't gonna do the OP any good. Personally i dont really have much to contribute; previous posters have said it all. But like my folks say back home, the orphaned child learns by listening when other children are admonished by their parents. So... i'm just listening - could be in OP's shoes tommorrow. |
@OP, Oga, i have a lot of tongue-lashing for you, considering you're nigerian-born (REAL nigerian men do NOT get walked over by their wives). But seeing as you're feeling so bad already, i think i'll just let it pass. For the record, bro, i feel your pain; so believe me when i tell you: start all over. It'll be hard, very hard, to start your life from scratch again, but that is truly the only way you'll forget your pain. - Try and keep in contact with you kids (if your ex-''Domitila'' will let you); send 'em aid whenever you can. They're still your kids after all. ![]() - I won't say forget love, but if you can, dont fall so hard next time. I'm suprised that your wife assaulted you several times, and you never tried to get her arrested (even though she repeatedly locked you up on same charge!). Stupid things people in love do, i guess. Next time bro, get a pre-nup. Folks in Naija dont need that, of course; they just send the dam.ned biatch parking!! |
Even suckling babies in Nigeria know that the NNPC is just a big, fat, over-bloated, corruption-ridden, white elephant. Mr Levi's statements arent suprising; what else would you expect from one sitting at the head of the organisation that represents the primary thing wrong with the country's oil and gas sector? |
It is really saddening reading things like this about naija; a judge frees a man, and weeks later another judge finds same man guilty of SAME CRIME, and the ''compromised'' judge boldly comes out to say his conscience ''is clear''. I mean, its not even his concern whether or not the convicting court had more evidence (than he did) to convict the man. As far as he's concerned, the guilty fella was ''innocent'', and thats that! Shame. ![]() |
EzeCanada: It was the Britons who institutionalized the taxing system world over. You dare not evade tax in Britain. In countries such as the US and Canada it’s considered a crime against the State carrying the full weight of the law. Let’s see how the British Government who always comes to their rescue handles this one.I'm with you, bro. |
@OP, Encore!! 'Nuff said! |
beatrice webb: igbo pple with their killing habit when will they stop?Like, seriously?? Such a sad story and the best reply you could think of was that? Shame. You know, its better to keep quiet and have people wonder if you're a fool, than speaking out and confirming that you truly are a fool.- @OP, i'm really speechless... knives and a SAMURAI SWORD? Where in seven hells did they even get it? Its sad, gone are the good old days when kids settled disputes in a fair fight of fisticuffs. |
As for sueing ex's, i prolly wont win much. My ex's didnt demand much. |
@OP, dude drag your head outta your backside and get real. Not to make light of your sadness, but c'mon man, how would you feel if your wife's best friend - one whom she shares secrets and time with - was a guy? Your friends are prolly just trying to protect their marriages. |
Wrong place, Seun. I know you want comments, but this belongs in the Literature section. Just my 2cents. |

pato405: 1. SokotoDon't know about Sokoto, but u should remove Owerri and replace it with Enugu. The rest stand; Abuja takes the cake though. |
Bad belle. Controversy sells... And so Toke whoever she is has now become popular. Mtscheww. **walks away whistling ''Na wash!''** |
joanana: inception, the illusionist and blood diamondsInception had a great plot, but TWISTS? Naa, it was pretty straight, just didnt know what was gonna happen next. Same with Blood Diamonds. The Illusionist had some twists, yeah, but a smart or intuitive fella could've seen it coming. - For the best plot twist, i nominate Shutter Island. |

@OP, Nice write-up, and mostly factual. Emphasis on MOSTLY. However lets reverse the table a little; how would you react to an igbo from Anambra who tells you he's a muslim? I dare say 9 out of 10 Nigerians will react with suprise. My point: stereotyping is annoying and terribly upsetting, BUT in this case you really cant blame southerners who react with suprise at your being a christian. My advice: live with it, homie. - Secondly, you're offended that you're referred to as ''Hausa''. Well, here's a heads-up: I am from Anambra but i have never thrown a tantrum when my Yoruba friends tell me that my Aba ''brothers'' are the worst thugs in Nigeria. For your information Aba indigenes speak Ngwa, and i dont understand jack of what they say. My point again: It hurts, yeah, but live with it. - My suspicion is that you're disgusted with the present depiction of Hausa-speaking muslim northerners, and you hate to be associated with it. I can understand that, and i dont blame you. BUT have you considered the flip-side? If it was, say Imo state traditionalist causing such mayhem that is affecting the entire country, wouldn't you be one of those saying ''It is these Igbos''? - Like Nas said, Life is harsh; live with it. |
@OP, I'm so sorry, dear. Dont know what to tell you, honestly. I personally think your husband is a big fat wicked bas.tard, and your (ex)employee is y |
kay9: Is it something in the water? Too much free time?On second thoughts, i think i'll take back what i said (or asked, rather). I mean, whadaheck, OP's bold enough to admit she's tripping for the guy, thats a good one... Who knows, maybe in 5yrs time, chics will be asking guys out on a date in Naija. ![]() |
acidtalk: Most of us always forget that these Celebs are human too and have blood flowing in them just like we do.A word of advice, bro: Fire your english teacher and get a new one. |
