sapientia:Lol They way the govt put those guys to shame eehh. If i were them, i will wait for days before defending some of these nonsense. They just jump immediately to defend nonsense and then the govt turns around to make them look stupid. Chai, some people don suffer |
NihiIist:Why will he kill a civilian? Has he finished killing boko haram? Where else in the world do you hear soldiers kill their own civilians? Take him to Borno now, he will be complaining. What happened to arresting the civilian? As you said, they should go ahead and slaughter the people of warri since killing their own citizens is what they know how to do best. We will clap for them. Nonsense |
Elvis778:There is something fishy about this whole thing. For them to say it is an explosive shows something is happening, otherwise it was easier and safer to blame it on meteor that would have looked natural. I suspect they didn't think about that angle before they tried to cook up a cover up stories. Imagine the authorities are they ones saying it is an explosive while others are saying otherwise. There is something fishy happening. Something did not go as planned. |
timesup234:Hahahahahahaha I know you must be one of the happiest man on earth with the deaths happening in America right now. |
timesup234:Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha Chai, this naiarland is like a comedy zone where one can come and laugh off stress. Guys, keep the entertainment coming |
This is counter productive. What they will end up doing is to bring crowd during that period. It is better to either close or leave it entirely open. One of the reasons the US was hard hit is because of that direction that said they will be closing their border for 30 days. This brought thousands of Americans at the time trying to get into the US before the deadline. This was when the virus was shared uncontrollably. If the US had not closed the border suddenly, it wouldn't have led to that surge and the rate of infection would have been lower. So this idea of opening between some time will only create surge as more people try to get food within the available window and the result will be uncontrollable infections. It will be better to leave the markets open as essential services |
Soldiers in other parts of the world are building hospitals, Nigerian soldiers are looking for who to beat |
9jaRealist:I don't think you understand my point. Buy from who? They are retooling because the products are now scarce and demand is far greater than supply due to the lock downs all over the world. If they start waiting to buy from China, they might wait forever. Yes, retooling requires a lot of money but the issue now is not even about money but getting the life saving product. |
CoronaVirusPro:Hahahahahahahahaha Did you say structures, culture and discipline? Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool *Falls from the chair while laughing* Between nairaland and comedy shows like AY Live etc, i don't know the one that is funnier. |
iammo:I don't thin you should blame NNPC. 1. When a country places a high value of her citizens, the host country will have to follow suite so it is not surprising that NNPC can chatter plane for Americans. The west places a high value on their citizens and that is why they are evacuating their citizens abroad even though their countries are currently worse off at the moment but they have the confidence that they can take care of their citizens better. In contrast, China has closed their border to foreigners and advised their citizens to stay where they are abroad even though, things are getting better for them now. Then you talk of the likes of Nigeria who do not even care if they have citizens abroad not to talk of having any plan for them. Can you now see how much value different countries place on their citizens? 2. The oil in Nigeria will remain in the ground without foreigners or do you have any local technology to extract oil form the ground? |
While money is good, the most important resource in times like this is infrastructure and technology. At some point, you will have the money but you might not be able to buy as countries put restrictions on their export to ensure that they can meet up their local demand. It is already happening now. A lot of US,UK, Canada and most European companies have retooled and are now producing ventilators, test kits, vaccines and other equipment for their front line workers. This is what they were not doing before because they were importing them from China. But as demand skyrocket and China cannot even meet up demand coupled with the fact they have their own problem, they had to start manufacturing by force. The question is how could they have retooled and started manufacturing? The answer is because even though they were not manufacturing before now, they had the technical know how and infrastructure to support manufacturing. So while some countries will be trying to import supplies because they don't have the capacity to manufacture, others will produce from within to meet their demand at least till the crisis is over and this is the key to overcome a pandemic like this. Right now, we are relying on money which is not even enough. I hope that when all this is over, Nigerians will take development seriously because lack of development is dangerous. |
Is it live or recorded? Will there be questions asked by the press like it is done elsewhere? |
aac |
E bi like say we don enter movie season. Lol |
Larryndelaw:There is no friendship in the game of survival especially when your friend has nothing to offer. China has closed her doors to all foreigners now they have turned the tide even though they shared it to the world as new year gift. If they get a vaccine today, they will take care of their 1.4 billion population before remembering any other person. The same with with America and other countries. So while others are racing to get a vaccine, what are Nigerian scientists doing? I hope when others develop a vaccine, Nigeria will not start looking at so called friends to give them vaccine. |
France knows that when SHTF, Nigeria case will be worse than Italy at the moment. It is just very clear to everybody who has sense World leaders are showing leadership by being visible during this crisis. Many world leaders including Macron, Johnson, Merkel, Trump and even Trudeau who has been in isolation have being having daily live press briefing to update the nation and announce and reassure the public. Citizens are seeing their leaders talk live and press are firing them uncomfortable questions which they have have to answer. Even Putin had to visit a hospital in Moscow days ago to encourage front line workers and assure the public . But in Nigeria, the only comment coming out of the so called president is a 25 seconds covik 1,9 birus video. Nigerian leaders are the most comfortable in the world. I know other world leaders will be envying Nigerian leaders and wishing to be in their shoes. I don't know of any other country in the world where leaders with be this incompetent and be this comfortable. In countries where leaders are doing everything possible to better the lives of their people, they are still under pressure. Anyway since Nigerians love it that way, who am i to talk? Our only hope is in God because we have zero structure to cope if the main thing comes. May God help Nigeria if not for any other thing but for my sake |
People just like to twist things to suit their bias. Anti Americans are already on rampage |
CSTR2:Lol. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha You can kill yourself for all i care. You can tell that to the likes of Abba Kyari and your elites in Nigeria who brought the virus due to their waka waka instead of looking for innocent Nigerians abroad to vent your frustration. If you like don't take the necessary precautions. |
CSTR2:Eyah, see beef, see envy, Chai Nigerians who live and work abroad did not return to Nigeria. It is Nigerian big boys and big babes, politicians, actors, musicians etc who live in Nigeria but love to go abroad, come back and show off for you guys that are returning. Why would a Nigerian who is working abroad return? I live abroad and don't know of any of us permanently living here that returned to Nigeria. Even students are still here. I know you dey beef Nigerians abroad but channel your anger to the right quarters |
@Bawss1, I don't think there is any amount of travel ban that would stop this virus from coming into any country. The only way any country would have prevented this situation would have been to close her borders to all countries of the world the moment it started escalating in China. Banning some countries and leaving out some is not going to prevent the virus from coming in. For example, when the US banned China, it is possible that the virus came in through another country. It just takes somebody from say Spain who has not been to China but has unknowingly had contact with a person who had been to China before coming into the US. Bust since they person has not been to China, you let him in and he starts infecting people without anyone knowing. This is exactly how the infections started in those countries that started the ban on travelers. So whether Canada followed suit in restricting travels at that time or not, it would have still come in. However, the only difference is that it would have bought the country more time. Probably where we were last 2 weeks would have been where we would have been today and where we are today would have been where would be in the next 2 weeks. This is because it would have reduced the number of people bringing in the virus which would translate to fewer cases of infection as against a situation where the virus was been brought in from left, right and center of the world. |
salford:I don't know why some people feel Toronto is only accessible from the GTA. You can live outside the GTA and still work in Toronto. Cities like Guelph and Cambridge offer cheaper housing options, lower crime rate and more family friendly neighborhoods and people live in these cities and still work in Toronto. Most Toronto jobs are laptop jobs and i have not seen anyone who works in Toronto that does not work from home for 2 days in a week, it seems like the standard practice. When i worked in Toronto, i worked Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office and Wednesdays and Fridays from home so i use those 2 days work from home to cover for the stress of the 3 days. Cambridge to Toronto is roughly an hour 10 mins or so and so, what i do is to read and develop myself all through the journey . I leave my house by 7am drive to the Greyhound bus stop, park my car at their parking lot and take the 7.15am bus to Toronto. Hit the office by 8.30, work and leave the office by 4pm to catch Cambridge Greyhound 4.30pm bus and arrive Cambridge by 6pm, drive my car back home and arrive by 6.10pm. It is stressful compared to those living around the GTA with less commute time. However, that commute time going and coming was the time i completed some online courses that helped me get to where i am today . There is free wifi and charging ports in greyhound buses so what i do immediately i enter the bus is to bring out my laptop, connect to the internet and start reading. That commute time gives any serious person a complete 2 hours daily for self development, not many people have that opportunity. |
seniormallam:Chill bros, everything that has an advantage also has a disadvantage. When you grow faster than your age, you age faster than your age. People like you will later reap the benefits later in life. When you are 50 and 60 and still looking young while your age mates are now looking like grandpas, you will now be the onesdoing shakara and flaunting your age anyhow, your age mate will now be wishing they were you. So appreciate yourself. |
engrchykae:How does introducing a virus to China that will spread all over the world and cause the same havoc it is causing in China spare America and hurt China? Don't you know that a recession in China will also affect America. Do you know how much US and other world markets have lost since this period? So if America and Europe wants to kill Chinese economy, it is a virus that the fatality rate is not even up to 5% that they will use? Does that make sense to you? Bros make una dey reason naa, you guys are not market women |
yrex01:Not at all. China did not create the virus. This is just like all other viruses that pops up from probably infected animal sources once in a while. In the last 15 years or so, we have had SARS, MERS, Bird Flu, Ebola, Zika Virus etc. They all came and was contained. The reason why these viruses generate a lot of brouhaha is that they are new strains and the body does not know how to fight them that is why when someone who has this virus survives it, they now have the immunity against it. This means that if you survive SARS, Ebola, Corona etc, your body will build resistance and it will no longer become a problem to you because your body will now know how to fight it like the common cold virus. My point is that the conspiracy theorist are to shallow in their thinking. In a globalized world where economies and supply Chains are linked, you cannot hurt a country as important as China without hurting the entire world including yourself. Do you want to tell me that the US is that stupid not to know that? Due to globalization, the trade war between the US and China ensured that there were no winners on both sides or is it now virus that does not have boundaries that would provide a winner? How much has the US economy and world economy lost this period? Flu kill thousands in the US every year, does it mean that the US created it to harm themselves? These conspiracy theorist have given the US too much power for my liking. They make the US look like a second "god" that can do and undo all things. They should take a chill pill, the US is not as powerful as what they always try to ascribe to it. |
Olominira:When you guys peddle these stupid conspiracy theories, do you people actually sit down to think it through or you just open your mouth and start talking? So in this globalized world where businesses are linked and there are millions of travels per day, you believe that someone can hurt China alone by introducing virus in China? Do you know that there are about 3 million Chinese that reside in America that travel to and from China every day? So how will America hurt China with a virus without hurting itself? We are talking of China here not Liberia, Burundi, Congo or those countries that can be isolated in the world and the world will not feel it. Even as bleeped up as Nigeria is, Nigeria is too important in such a way that you can't hurt her with a virus and not hurt the rest of the world not to talk of China. You guys should at least think before you start saying trash you can't defend. |
China is too paranoiac for my linking. Always acting insecure. It is their insecurity that made this escalate. If the first doctor who discovered this problem back in December was not hounded by the authorities for spreading fake news maybe they would have nip it in the bud as early as December and it wouldn't have been this bad. But they rather crucify the messenger instead of paying attention to the message just to protect one nonsense image and now the whole world is suffering from it |
I have always known that the Fulanis will not come direct to scuttle this Amotekun thing, they will always use the people to carry out their dirty works. It is happening already. Why are southerners senseless? |
I think they need the money to protect fulani herdsmen not Nigerians |
Bar1941:Why should Nigerians in Canada protest? Wetin concern us? |
ahiboilandgas:Hmmm. Anyone who has the opportunity and means to give himself and family a second citizenship should better do it now while there is still opportunity. There is nothing as sweet as having options. A time will come when it will no longer be possible especially this one now that your president is now releasing boko haram members into the society claiming they have repented and the world is watching how terrorists now repent from their sins People who have good plans for themselves and are patient don't wash plates for life. The good thing here is that people change career all the time. It is not uncommon to see a 45 years old man in college doing another course so as to move to another career after working in another field for 15 years. Nobody looks at age here to give a job. In fact, age is not written on your resume so nobody knows how old you are even if you are starting a new career by 40. While there are a lot of people migrating abroad with false narrative as you said and would definitely end up disappointed but the truth is that those fall into the overwhelming category of Nigerians whose mindset is all about Money, Houses, Cars and bank account and nothing else matter to them in this life. So when we are talking about migrating abroad, let us understand that people are migrating for different reasons and put it in proper context. Have you not seen professional players who took a pay cut to play for another team like Real Madrid and Barca? By the way, Ighalo took a pay cut to join Man Utd on Loan and that is the same reason someone may live his 500k job in Nigeria to migrate. |
TheChameleon:Is that all? |
TheChameleon:What business does Nigeria have being in that list? A poor country like Nigeria wasting money that way sounds good to you? |
