A non-invasive prenatal DNA test is done by way of blood sample since a child's DNA enters the mother's blood through the walls of the placenta. I don't have details of cost but other people have hinted that it is very expensive. I also do not know if pre-natal tests are available in Nigeria but I should think so. I read somewhere that ultrasounds are also fairly accurate in showing the age of the embryo in the early stages of pregs; this might be useful if your friend remembers the day he gave her a lift.
