My brother no need to shalaye. They don't identify as Ibos. So y'all want to start identifying with them after you Ibos treated them badly in the past. I know the story because I have some Anioma people as friends.
So what do they identify as? Is it possible for someone to have no ethnic group? If they are not Igbos then what are they? Anioma is not an ethnic group
PoliticsRe: How Would Nigerians React If Igbos Were Killing People Like Fulanis? by kingzizzy: 3:11pm On Jul 17, 2020
horsepower102:
In 1966, an estimated 60 thousand civilians from the eastern region most of whom were igbos were massacred in cold blood by their so called fellow countrymen.

The reason, a military coup that they had no idea or business with. These were average civilians going about their daily business, trying hard to make the best of a tough life.

Their fellow Africans murdered them in cold blood.

But since then so many other coups has happened and no single civilians from the ethnic group of the coupist was touched.

Now the main question is how would Nigerians treat the average igbo civilian on the street if it was igbo herdsmen killing people all over Nigeria and invading their farmlands.

Would you Nigerians be as quiet as you are today?
Had it been Igbos who where going about Nigeria with AK47, killing people like the herdsmen, all hell would have broken loose

Thats when Buhari will remember Python dance and Dragon dance. The full weight of the military will be brought down on them. It wont stop there, Igbos will be killed in different parts if Nigeria just like they were in 1966.

They call themselves Anioma for a reason. Anioma people feel insulted when you call them Ibo based on the altercations they have had with the South Easterners in the past
Anioma is just an area just like Nigeria is an area. There is no tribe known as "Nigerian" same as there is no tribe known as "Anioma".

Funny how people always try to change what we all know. Come to Rivers State and tell the indigenes that they’re Igbo.
What you are calling Rivers state was just parts of old Aba, Owerri and Portharcourt provinces that were carved out to create Rivers State.

6) Mercy Chinwo Nnenda

Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian gospel singer, a talented composer and songwriter. She was the winner of the Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012 and named the winner in three categories – Africa Gospel New Artiste of the Year, Africa Gospel Female Artiste of the Year and Africa Gospel Song of the Year (Excess Love).

Mercy is from Rivers State, Her mum is from Akwa-Ibom state... The last time we checked Rivers State is not an Igbo State.
What do you mean by 'Igbo state'? Are you not aware that about 65% of the indigenes of Rivers are Igbo speaking people?

What are you all doing in Yoruba land? Fashola once abducted several of you in Lagos, Aregbesola too abducted several of you in Osun and dumped you at Upper Iweka Bridge Head at 2:00AM, but before 10 minutes, you have all jumped into the next available trailer moving cows to Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Osun. As Yorubas pray to go to Heaven, Igbos pray to go to Yoruba land.
What do you mean what we are we doing in Yoruba land? What are Yorubas doing in other parts of the world like USA and UK? Everybody is free to pursue his livelihood anywhere in the world, it does not mean I want belong to share the same country as you. There are many Igbos pursuing their livelihood in China but none of them wants Chinese nationality.

My own take is let South South, South East, South West of Nigeria form a common front to get their freedom, as it was before amqgmation 1914
It is very easy to achieve and they will make the best country in Africa and all over the world and.
Let us bury the hatchet and forget our past mistake by our past leaders.
There was no history of killing among us because we understand the sanctity of human life,
So, Biafrans, Oduduas, and Niger Deltas should come together and declare
Republic of Southern Nigeria which I believe end of this anxiety...

PoliticsRe: Capital Punishment: The Best Way to curb crime in Nigeria by kingzizzy: 2:24pm On Jul 16, 2020
Afam4eva:
As we all know, corruption, armed robbery, cheating, bribery have all become a culture in Nigeria and it is practiced by majority of Nigerians and whenever i hear people say that Nigeria will get better, i'm kind of lost as to how that will happen since those that are supposed to effect change are also guilty of these crimes. But let's assume, that, by the a special intervention, Nigeria gets better, what is going to happen to the millions of people that have swam in the ocean of corruption that it has become a hobby for them. What will happen to the die-hard armed robbers that will continue the only trade they know since they were not introduced to something else in the early years of their lives. What will happen to the average Nigeria that sees bribery as a religion that must be strictly adhered to in order to go places. How are we going to change the way we behave, live and the way we treat each other? That's why i recommend that the government introduces capital punishment for anyone found guilty of curruption, armed robbery etc. That way we can curb this menace in our society because it seems no matter how long you catch a criminal in Nigeria, when he's out of jail, he goes back to his vomit. What do you guys think?
We have capital punishment for armed robbery, has it in anyway reduced armed robbery?

We have capital punishment for terrorism, has it stopped terrorists?

Capital punishment for corruption would be a step too far.

I oppose capital punishment, it has not proved to act as a deterrent anywhere in the world

PoliticsRe: ‘igbo Leaders Should Do Away With Opposition Politics’ by kingzizzy: 6:36am On Jul 16, 2020
zakim:
A business mogul, Chief Sam Ezediaro, yesterday, advised leaders of the South East to do away with opposition politics and flow with the centre to actualise their age-long ambition.

Chief Ezediaro, a former Head of Lands, Texas Oil Company Nigeria Limited, said aligning with aggrieved leaders of other geopolitical zones to discredit the presidency was counter-productive.

He said, “There is no future for the South East in the opposition. Igbo leaders should shun divisive tendencies and secessionist rhetoric.

They should form strong alliances across the region with focus on building a corporate nation that is founded on love, tolerance and the rule of law.”

In other words, "support whoever is in power so that they will remember you". Igbos have outgrown such childish reasoning. What matter now is now is that Nigeria be restructured or Igbos become independent

Which Ikwerre do you mean? Would that include Ikwerres like Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Tonto Dike and Monalisa Chinda who have all come out to say they are Igbos? Or is there another Ikwerre?

Same with so-called Delta Igbos who want to be differentiated from you core Igbos .

Can you tell us why Igbos in Delta, PH and even Afikpo Igbos are denying any pan-Igbo identity ?

Because they hate being associated with you core Igbos knowing how evil, greedy, backward and crude that you are.
The idea he has of Biafra is that all Igbo speaking people in Nigeria should be given referendum to decide if they want to be a seperate country or not. This idea of who is core Igbo or who denies being Igbo has nothing to do with it. Its all who wants to leave Nigeria

Like I told you, we have debated and trashed this and even the Igbos that are far superior to you in Intelligence couldn’t see a draw in the face of evidence.

All they keep saying is speculation and one would be amazed how a population of nearly 40million + Igbos can’t provide two sources of evidence to support their assertions.

At least Ojukwu ordering the release of Awolowo will be a breaking news and both foreign and local press will be doing photo Ops and writing about it.

At least Ojukwu would have documented it somewhere and take photos to show the world what he did. Can you provide those images or any documents in its true form that showed Ojukwu released him?

If you can’t provide evidence, please desist from quoting me coz I ain’t gonna respond no more.

Check the thread below to see more other evidence that we Yorubas provided to back our argument.

https://www.nairaland.com/5541011/youtube-video-showed-gowon-released

https://www.nairaland.com/5553170/re-more-absolutely-convincing-evidence
The YouTube video is complete nonsense because it shows Gowon releasing Awolowo in Lagos when everyone knows that Awolowo was Calabar prison.

Ojukwu releasing Awolowo clearly hijacked by the Lagos/Ibadan expressway media to give Gowon credit he did not deserve

What I want someone to tell me is how Gowon, who was less than a week in power, managed to release Awolowo from a Region he had no control?

Even Ironsi, who was recognised as substantive leader by the Eastern Region, could not have released Awolowo without ordering Ojukwu to to so

So how did Gowon release Awolowo when neither Ojukwu nor the Eastern Region recognised Gowon as substantive leader?

Anybody can write anything, anyone can claim anything or parade any useles video. But what people cannot do is run away from hard facts.
PoliticsRe: 2023: How Power Struggle Will Lead To Restructuring of Nigeria by kingzizzy: 3:11pm On Jul 14, 2020
IkwerrePikin:
The North knows that if power moves to the South by 2023, Nigeria will be restructured while power is in the South.

But they would rather choose to retain the Presidency while the country is restructured.

By 2023 the yorubas and Igbos will lose out from producing the President!

The clamor for restructuring/division of Nigeria especially by the Yorubas will be so high like never before!

At the end, Nigeria will be restructured!

- We will have local, state, regional and federal government!

- We will have regional police, regional governor and assembly

But the resources will be controlled by the federal government.

In the South:

Rotimi Amaechi, Donald Duke will fight for South South Regional Governorship slot

Rochas, Umahi will fight for South East regional governorship slot

Sanwolu anointed by Tinubu and Fayemi will fight for South West regional governorship slot.

A new strong opposition party will be formed aside Pdp & Apc
If resources are controlled by federal government then the restructuring is meaningless. The main thrust of restructuring is resource control. Without resource control, power has not devolved down from the centre because it is only when you control your resources that you are free

The bolded showed you don’t know what you are saying and conversing with you will be a total waste of time.

So because Calabar was not the FCT meant that a federal prison cannot be situated in Calabar? You and your 2by2 reasoning.

The rest of your statement are jargons and that have been trashed to the bin multiple times when your fellow Igbos with superior intelligence than you tried to debate it.

I have a task for you:
—Present two proofs from independent reputable sources that showed Ojukwu released Awolowo from prison.

I have asked the Igbo population on Twitter/ Nairaland and yet NO ONE was able to bring forth any proof to support their assertions.

Are you guys that shameless to continue to hold on to a lie even when all evidence point to the contrary?

NB: You can invite Dedetwo above to help you in your quest for evidence.

If I have the means I would have gone on Channels TV and invite the most brilliant professor of history in Igboland to debate with me on the subject. Coz it’s evident those of you on Nairaland and Twitter are just the usual “My father told me”.
Then that means you dont know how Regionalism worked back in the day. Let us just assume that Calabar prisons was under federal control. Is it really practical that Gowon, who was less than a week in power and not recognized as substantive leader in the Eastern Region, ordered the release of a Federal prisoner held in the East without the approval of the Regional Governor everyone took orders from? Not even Ironsi, who was recognised in the East could have released Awolowo without ordering Ojukwu to do so, let alone Gowon who was a nobody in the East.

You these guys with your 2by2 stance on situation won’t cease to amaze me.

So Ojukwu took command of a federal prison after 2-3 days of Ironsi’s demise? Ironsi whose corpse was even missing when Gowon took over.

Ojukwu was Governor for several months while Ironsi was head of states for several month and yet they both don’t deem it fit to release Awolowo.

Gowon can to power and released him in 2-3 days.

Yoruba say aje ke lana, omo ku lo ni, ta ni ko mo pe aje ana lo pa omo je!
Calabar could not have been a federal prison, it was not in the federal capital territory.

Is it really practical that Gowon, who was barely a week in power, unrecognised by Ojukwu and the Eastern Region, ordered the release of Awolowo from an area he had absolutely no control over? That would not have been possible.

Besides, Awolowo wasnt the only person Ojukwu released around that time. Ojukwu released Victor Banjo, Nzeogwu and many of those involved in the first coup.

Let us not forget that Awolowo was a man convicted of treason during civilian rule. The fact he was released before his time by anyone, military or otherwise, is something to be greatful for. They could have easily left him to rot in jail

It is simply impossible
