Viralkid:
the biggest mistake he made was that he didn't execute coup plotters which made the north to blindly believe that he among them which ultimately led to his death.
That is not a valid reason. We have seen situations in Nigeria where people accused of coup plotting are kept in detention for over a year as investigation, charging and prosecuting all take time.

Ironsi was just there for 6 months. The truth behind all this is that the North hated the fact that an Igbo man was President.

One thing I like about Ironsi is his story. How he rose from nothing to become GOC of the Nigerian Army. That's the spirit of the Igbo man.

Going by your warped logic, since Ipob members haven't been sentenced, they didn't kill.

Also, Herdsmen didn't kill anyone since they haven't been convicted.
And Soldiers didn't kill Ipob members since they've not been convicted.

Guy, go and sleep and stop disgracing Ipob.
The Herdsmen have a long history of killing defenceless people.

Below are pictures of people killed by Herdsmen. Their dead bodies are enough evidence of the crime. The Nigerian Army has a long history of human rights abuse killings, even amnesty international released a report that the Nigerian Army killed 150 IPOB members.

But IPOB has no history of killing people or being violent

In the case of IPOB, the only case against them is a Policeman who died in Hospital of unverified causes. Word of mouth is not enough to accuse an organisation of murder.

So don't compare this to Boko Haram or the Nigerian Army, those ones have been involved in many deaths.

So if you are accusing an organisation that has never been known to kill people or murder, would it not be wise until the case has Been determined in court?

That's how they said that IPOB threw two policemen into the River Niger some years ago and that turned out to be a lie.

Did you read what you posted? It says "suspected" IPOB members. Therefore, what it means is that even the police are not sure. What you posted is just allegation. If suspected IPOB members were arrested for killing a policeman, what you should do is wait for the court decision to know if they are IPOB members and if they actually killed anybody. I really don't have time with people with chronic comprehension problem. So this is gonna be my last quote to you.
I'm gonna make dummy it down that even dummiest of all dummies would understand.

Geographically, igbos have 5 states.
Just like Yorubas have six states.

Now there are so many Yoruba sub group in North Central all the way to Benin republic.

Now imagine Yoruba claiming, yorubas own benin republic because there are many sub Yoruba groups there who actually bears Yoruba names or speaks Yoruba without considering if they actually want to be Yorubas or not or other tribes that live together with other Yoruba sub group in benin republic.

Igbos geaographically have 5 states, ss has many tribes including sub igbos who haven't come out and say they actually want to be igbos. Yet those in the 5 states are already lumping them into their biafla dream or calling them what they don't want to be called.

Attaching themselves to them by force.

There is even one ediot arguing with me that ibibio and ijaw are igbo sub group to. You can see the level of stupidity.

Anyhoo. Read slowly this time. Any other dumb quote will be well ignored.
You are talking from both sides of your mouth, contradicting your self and making your self sound strange. The state a person happens to fall into is not what makes the person Igbo or not. In 1960, there were no states and no SS, so how do you think an Igbo man was recognised back then? He was recognised by language, name and culture. Today, people like you are using states to judge who is Igbo and who is not? You even used Yoruba and Benin Republic as an example. Yorubas are the second largest ethnic group in Benin. The fact that they were carved into Benin Republic dies not take away the fact that they are Yorubas. So why does it take away that the Igbos carved into Delta state or Rivers state are no longer Igbo?

Now if you say that those people are not Igbo because you haven't seen them accept to be called Igbos, did you see the Nsukka man.of Enugu ever declare to be Igbo? Have you ever seen the Orlu man of Imo state declare to be Igbo? Did you see the Isiukwuato man of Abia claim not be Igbo? But if they ask you, you will say they are Igbo because of the states they belong to.

Igbo has nothing to do with the state a person belongs to, Igbo is about the group of people who speak a language, have ancestral Igbo surnames and observe the same culture/tradition. So whatever the Anioma man of Delta thinks he is or what Ikwerre think they are or what the Nnewi man wants to call him self. What matters is that all these people speak the Igbo language, have Igbo surnames and Igbo culture.

Former Governor of Rivers state, Chibike Amaechi has told the world that he is an Ikwerre man and proud Igbo man. The Secretary-General of Ohaneze is Uche Okwukwu, an Ikwerre man from Rivers state. A former President General of Ohaneze, late Ralph Uwechue was a native of Ogwashi-Ukwu in Delta state. So who is Igbo and who is not?

One last thing, you keep saying that Igbos have 5 states. The Igalas of Anambra state , the Idomas of Enugu state, The Ibibios of Abia state, the Legbos of Ebonyi state, are they all also included in your so called "5 Igbo states"? They have become Igbos for being carved into those states?

if you don't have chronic comprehension problem, you wouldnt have typed this loads of garbage that doesn't correlate with what I wrote.

Bearing igbo names doesn't automatically make someone igbo unless he wants to be called igbo. That's why I used itsekiri as an example.

Read slowly or pick up agbo goes to school again. It should help you with comprehension.
Oh really? So your own definition of being Igbo is a person who chooses to be Igbo? Yet you are asking people to face 5 states? Did you ask the Isiukwuato man in Abia state if he wants to be known as Igbo before a you asked him to face 5 states? Did you ask the Nsukka man in Enugu state if he wants to be Igbo before you asked him to face 5 states?

With one mouth, you say that being Igbo is if a person wants to be called Igbo but with the other side of the mouth, you label the other 5 states as Igbos.

So who is Igbo and who is not Igbo? Going by your own idea, what it means is that anyone can be Igbo today and not Igbo tomorrow. What it means is that an Nsukka man can decide to be Igbo in 2018 then come 2019, can decide not to be called Igbo. All this is nonsense. Three things makes a person Igbo, ancestral language, ancestral surname and the tradition they observe. What state they were carved into makes no meaning

Attache by force.

Delta is muti ethnic that's why no tribe can lay claim to delta state.

There are sub igbo group in delta, but that doesn't make delta an igbo land. Just because we have groups like itskeris who bear Yoruba names in delta all the way to bayelsa doesn't make entire delta state a Yoruba land.

The problem people have with igbos is acting like ss is theirs for the taking .. That's why most ethnic groups in ss always deny them whenever they ask for support in anything.

They lump everyone together and call them igbo as long as they bear igbo name. They don't care if the person wants to be called igbo or not.

Face your five eroded pigland state and find a way of developing it without attaching yourself by force with south south.
Trust me, if you show them you can stay on your own without them, those sub groups that keep denying their igbo identity will be the one begging to be called igbo not the other way around.
Hypocrite. First you say that there are Igbos indigenous to Delta state then you say that Igbos should face 5 states and stop attaching themselves to SS. What is that supposed to mean? So Igbos should forget all Igbos who happend to carved into states where they are not majority? State creation makes a person SS but not Igbo? If an 'Emeka Eze' from Delta state wins a medal for Nigeria in the Olympics, he is SS, but if he is caught pushing drugs in Malaysia, he is Igbo.

This sort of nonsense should stop.

This rubbish of weighting what good a person did against all they evil they commited is beneath contempt. This is why a genocidal killer and terrorist like Murtala Mohammed found his way on the currency of Nigeria as a patriot.

General Sami Abacus was a man of infinitesimal evil. He was one of those who helped destroy Nigeria for over 30 years starting from 1966 when he participated in the counter coup to when he died in 1998. He played a major role in every draconian military regime that ruled Nigeria with the exception of the first coup. His six year rule was pure terror. If one were to compile all the evil Abacha commited during the 32 years the military held away in Nigeria...................

When you talk about evil men that Africa has produced, talk about Idi Amin, Emperor Bokasa, Murtala Mohammed, Mengitsu Haile and Sani Abacha.

shakmati:
I am of the opinion that President Buhari has a joker with which he can win the South-East and rule till 2023. That joker is picking Rochas Okorocha as running mate for 2019. Osibanjo has served well and outlasted his relevance. Picking Rochas as a running mate would assure the President of a sway from the South East and South South. His support base in the core North is still strong. He has APC support in the South West. The picking of Rochas as his running mate would force a support base from the South East and some of the South South which would ensure victory for him by 2019.
You may ask why the South East would support the President if he picks Rochas as running mate. Well, that is the only way the South East can regain any form of political relevance in Nigeria. When Buhari' s tenure is up, the power of incumbency, Rochas' strong support base in the North and the open mindedness of the South West would ensure a smooth victory for Rochas as the first Igbo President of Nigeria since the civil war. This strategy would also ensure the APC remains relevant as a strong political party at least until 2031. It would also bring back a common cause for all Nigerians as the South East would quit complaining of marginalization and feel more a part of the affairs of this country.
I believe this strategy should be adopted by the President, the APC and the South East for a stronger Nigeria.
The South East doesn't care about the Presidency of Nigeria any more. There are far more important things than that now

I am with you on this—ditto for millions of yorubas. And i believe we would get this through diplomacy, failing which the south will have no other option but to engage in armed struggle.

Pending that time however, we must eschew hate and see how we can maintain the peace. I have always been an advocate for what i call "structured aggression". It means that you must plan adequately before going to war. You dont just rush into war without planning it well. The igbos made a mistake going into the biafra war without adequate preparations. This is where the yorubas diverge with the igbos: We wont fight a war with the north without planning, and also deploying "active measures" that covers a multi-pronged approach to warfare.

You can call it cowardice, but we call it sophistication.

Igbos should just calm down and plan properly. I see them as the least prepared for armed struggle among the major tribes.
Stop talking nonsense. If anybody rushed into war, it was Nigeria. Igbos never went into war with anybody, Nigeria went into war with Igbos. Ojukwu and his people were enjoying their new country in the East when Nigeria came to fight.

When someone comes to your own house to fight you, you won't have the luxury of planning anything. You will only have two choices, defend your self or surrender. Igbos are not the type to surrender without a fight.

So when people say that Igbos rushed into war without adequate planning, I wonder If these people remember that it was Nigeria that came to the East to fight?
