^^^^^ Why are you particularly interested in Chief of Army Staff? Do you know the duties of COAS? Have you forgotten that Chief of Army Staff is one of the three service chiefs? What about of Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of Air force Staff? You should be more interested in GEJ, Chief of Defense Staff, Director of SSS and IGP than COAS.Igbo's have tacitly and covetly without mincing words, accepted and invariably endorsed IBB's candidadacy come 2011. Without most Igbo's knowing they have without resistance, quietly heeded to the clarion call of Ojukwu. I wonder wether this salient observation by me cut across the whole SE Geographical region. It would appear the big lie by IBB( a certified lier) that he would hand over to an Igbo man come 2015 has sipped into the Igbo sub-conscious without them knowing. ![]() |
What we hope in the future "Abuja" and "Nigeria" those 2 entities would get to where Lagos has gotten to. At least IBB and Saraki have asked Mr President to talk about issues. We are waiting for JEG's Blue-print for the next 4 years, OR does he want to be scouting in Aso Rock FOR the fun of it. He should come out with a comprehensive plan for the next 4 years, and we as the citizens would be able to judge him 4 years from now assuming he wins the elections. JEG's elevation by God was meant to usher a new era in Nigeria politics, so far we have not seen it, we hope in the weeks and months to come we shall see and hear more intresting stuffs from his camp. ![]() |
It is that time of the year Fashola as usual like a student preparing for an exam would dust the prospectus of the 4th mainland bridge brochure to remind himself of the benefit of this project so as not to be caught un-aware by his detractors and political opponents, when they ask why the project have not seeing the light of day since it was first muted by his mentorer and chairman Tinubu. This imaginery bridge, which has become more OR less an utopian ideal worthy for discuss only during election years has been brought to the fore front once again, it has become more of an election campaign jingo and a fourth yearly ritual. The strongest opposition IN THE STATE, which is the PDP would make a meal out of it, insisting that the Tinubu/Fashola regime promised Lagosians this fantasy bridge which at the time when it was first muted was the cornerstone of Tinubu’s idea of rejuvenating and developing a comprehensive motorway system that would keep Lagos moving. But unfortunately Lagos has continued to remain the most gridlocked city in the world and one of the most frustrating places to do business, no wonder the BBC keeps on coming back for more Block Busting documentaries, it would appear the British audience love and are bewitched by the perseverance, the improvisation of these vast land of human misery. The truth is not a brick has been laid nor a stone turned despite Lagosians coming to the 4th term of the Tinubu/Fashola ticket. It would appear the desire was an illusion all along, and there it shall remain. Rather to the contrary, the Fashola regime has embark on an ingenious taxing regime of taken albeit covertly from the wealthy, rich and powerful in the Lekki axis by quickly constructing 3 tolling booths within the first 20 miles of the Lekki-Epe expressway a supposedly 60 miles expressway. This money booths OR cash booths was put up in such a hurry so as to capture with pinpoint precision the unimaginable revenue that can be accrued to the state to the detriment of the poor residents, businesses and artisans in the area. This more than anything is laudable on the part of Fashola as it would bump up the revenue generated into the kitty of Lagos State, but the illusion of the other bridge(4th Mainland Bridge) would continue unabated to remain a mirage that would be talked about every four years till kingdom comes. At least one thing one can say about Lagos Politics, Politicians here talk of issues that affects the populace, which is a far cry from what obtains in that far away land called “Abuja” and “Nigeria” where politics is played not by what u plan to do to enhance the life of your citizens, but by tribal loyalty, irrespective of the reputation of the person running, even if the man clamouring for the top job has a reputaion worse than those of Lawrence Anini (famous Armed Robber) both in character and demeanour so long he is from my zone he is a worthy contestant, all other things are irrelevant. Kudos to Lagos, and “Eko o ni baje” |
The president should stop embarassing Nigerians. Why institute a probe on a project u are the chief architect. Does he not know everyone hovering around him are fuc*kxng leeches. He should have done a simple match past, and laying a wreath for our past heroes, perharps a plague made for those heroes would have been welcome idea. Apart from that, a very strong, powerful and inspiring message would have touch the chords of every Nigerian. Such an exercise would probably cost the nation less than N10 million Naira. ![]() |
There only 3 things doing well in Nigeria and are exportable are : 1. Nollywood - Our films are the toast of the black world from Jamica, to Botswana, from St Lucia to Uganda, Nollywood rules the roost. 2. Our Music is growing at a phenomena rate in Africa, today in Nigeria and many African countries you can dance all night in a Night Club or in a party without one western music played. Kudos to the D Banj, 2FACE, 9ICE, Bracket and the many others who have flown the flag with pride. 3. Our Churches are the fastest growing church in the world, by now I should think redeem is in every country in the world. Also TB Joshia has made Nigeria a mecca for sick and ill celebrities, Omar Bongo, Attah Mills, the Zambian President that died all made enquires about this man of God who predicted the death of M.J. more grease to your elbow Mr jOSHIA made the good work you are doing continue to exult our father in heaven, Amen 4. Apart from the afromentioneted our economy has camatoosed nothing is working. |
The boy is a future EFCC Chairman, so he should keep up the good behaviour. |
49 sitting, 99 standing suffering and smiling everday na the same, thank God for Fashola with BRT suffering and smiling is now limited to those ubiquitous molue. |
The South-South can still produce the President if it all goes by merit. That is why it would be nice for JEG not to get the PDP Primary ticket, by him not getting it, JEG would have known he has been stiched-up by a lot of Governors who promised heaven and Earth. To get his pound of flesh back from those back stabbing Govs, JEG should throw his weight behind Ribadu making sure those Govs fail either in the primaries OR in the General elections paving way for a clean sweep for the opposition. I am not insiniuating he should temper with the election results, but the benefit of hindsights and an indept analysis of what transpired in elections, by talking to ordinary men and women on the streets has shown most of those pitiable Govs are riding on an unfortunate and stolen ballot. Just like Ghana, the opposition party would take over in Naija, that alone would usher in a new dispensation where merits would be the order of the day, where also substance and important issues are debated. People like Donald Duke a South-Southerner who has proven his mettle b4 would have a chance of ruling Nigeria when the reasons for running becomes what you have to offer the nation as suppose to what the nation has to offer you OR better still where you come from zonally. |
Despite Britain's political correctness they have still not manage to vote an an athiest as their PM in the year 2010. That more than anything should serve as a pointer & set alarm bells ringing that an aethiest have no chance in hell winning the General elections, except of course d other party commits a very public political Hara-kiri. |
Oya go and tell GEJ that one so he can build it.GEJ cannot build it, the country has not got that kind of money anymore, the country is broke. Today our citizens are reduced to love-peddlers, pimps and madams in the most barren and dirt poor countries of the world, courtesy of the evil one IBB. Who in a quest of achieving a semblance of comfort for himself in the midst of poverty and lack, lives like royalty in his Minna enclave overlooking at his subjects with disdain, to say he is callous would be an understatement, IBB KNOWS he has mortgaged the lives of 150 million Nigerians, yet some scallywags ON THIS forum are singing him praises beckoning him to come back and rule. I hope u are not one of his choir boys. ![]() |
They would have but they didn't so what's your pointThe point is you learn from the mistake of the past, it is only a fool who makes the same mistake time after time without learning. I see people on this forum write the most irritating comments, over the slightest upheaval they start screaming civil war would happen, can u imagine some fools calling for a civil war because a buccaneer and a failed businessman like Dokpesi was picked up for questioning. |
Nobody should ever mention Coups OR Military take-overs on this forum again, you can all see what that fatal mistake by Muritala caused the country. From 1976 to 1999, coups after coups, 23 years of stunted, possibly zero if not negative growth. |
There's no use crying over bridges that were never builtThey would have been built if not of those succesive coups one after the other. At least they were built in Lagos, so they would have been built in the rest of the country. |
It is a shame this ambitious project planned by Gowon did not see the light of day because of Muritala’s impatience and quest to be Head of State. OBJ who took over did not do anything other than pass the buck to a hapless and clueless Shagari. Apparently Shagari got swept away by the most inept coup plotter in the person of Buhari who fell like a pack of cards when the evil genius IBB, and his co- Brother in crime Abacha hatch their famous double act by trading places in the 90’s making sure Nigerians remained in the doldrums of misery, penury and abject poverty. See excerpts from Gowon's interview Do you think we have made progress looking at the nation’s infrastructural development today and what are your expectations in the new era? During our time, we had a Third National Development Plan, we were looking at the future and we had plans to increase power supply by building more hydro electric power plants as well as ethanol power plant using what we have in plenty in Nigeria. We were doing that to cope with future development. The power station we had at the time was good enough. The Kainji Dam had just been commissioned and it was going good. The eight turbines were working, we had enough power and it would have taken us into the second year of our development plan by which time we hope we would have added some more power generating plants to cope with the increased demand then. That was on the plan and if our successors had carried on with that programme, we will not be talking about poor infrastructure, power or roads. For the road network, we had the North-South economic route, Sokoto-Badagry, Maiduguri-Calabar, Nguru-Port Harcourt and one also to the port in Warri. We had four economic routes and they were all to be dualised to ease transport. If all these things had been carried through as planned, it would have been a different story today. But I think efforts are being made as result of the hue and cry throughout the country for government to deliver using most of the resources we have. There are problems but I think they are beginning to put them right for the future and that is the call to government to listen to the public on some of these things in order to improve conditions of life of the people. |
IBB THE LONG ARMS OF THE LAW IS CLOSING IN ON YOU. I KNOW SINCE YOUR WIFE DIED LAST YEAR, YOU HAVE LONGED AND HAVE BEING LIVING ON THE EDGE, WITH A DEATH WISH MENTALITY. WELL MR DEATH WISH HAS BEGIN HIS SHORT JOURNEY FROM ABUJA TO MINNA. YOUR WISH HAS BEEN ANSWERED, MAKE MR DEATH WISH COMFORTABLE WITH THE BEST AND THE FINEST WINE IN YOUR CLOSET, BUT KNOW WHEN THE GRIM RIPPER COMES CALLING HE DOES NOT TAKE BRIBE. BEST OF LUCK IN THE AFTER LIFE. I HOPE DELE GIWA AND VASTA WOULD GIVE YOU A ROUSING WELCOME. |
The same technology dat they use to plan d deed would nail them. |
There is noting that would happen, if IBB is found culpable he should be arrested and thrown into jail. What nonesense he dare not do all these crap when Abacha was at the helms of affair. Even when Yaradua who is more or less a weakling was there, how many times do u hear IBB alter a word. IBB and Atiku just do not respect d office of d Presidency. |
he wins the primaries, we should embrace it as a new begining into good things to come for Nigeria hopefully. stop changing goal postWith a face like that and a statement as above, I am hoping GEJ would have learnt from the pitfalls and the misadventures of his predecessor. I would be a fool to accept your warp logic of the past leaders having a good 7 months and a bad remainder of their terms as a prudent and sincere precedent that one should anchor one’s argument on. What a frail and parochial argument. I am no mind reader, but I shall exercise caution and remind you of one of man’s fundamental right to his fellow man, giving others the benefit of doubts is sacred both humanly and spiritually religious-wise. . Don’t forget I did mention he has started on a bad footing in some decisions he made this alone is a departure from the past but going by your inconsequential argument, however using your Kindergarten premise one can suffice to say the remainder of his term would turn-out better than his predecessors. I don’t want to indulge in such doggery because it has never being my style but I can accommodate you if you want me to. |
thats where u missed it.You cannot judge someone who has spent 7 months as the President with people who had all the time in the world to make changes. OBJ- 8+2.5= 11.5 Years IBB= 8 Years, Abacha – about 5 years OR there- about. The Jury is still not yet out on Jonathan and moreover he has cease being the President, he is a Candidate like the others obviously there would be a lot of political horse trading that would not go down well with common men on the street. If anyone of you are in his shoes u would do likewise, don’t forget no man is an island. |
Perharps we might have a revolution in our hands at the moment, JEG was not part of the political elites that despoiled Nigerians fortunes for so many years. His father was a canoe maker from Bayelsa State for crying out loud how commoner can he be. Let us give him the benefit of doubt if he wins the primaries, we shold embrace it as a new begining into good things to come for Nigeria hopefully. ![]() But going by the few months he had being at the helms of affairs, he has not being impressive, well we Nigerians force this position on ourselves by bickering on wether he would run OR not making him to lose focus on governance, turning him into an overnight candidate. Well we want a candidate, a candidate we now have in our hands, the President bit or duties is more OR less a Part time job now. |
The only revolution worthy of having is a democratic revolution, vote people like Donald Duke, Ribadu, Saraki OR Fashola into power then we would have had a generational shift from the old hands to the new hands and a new thinking would suffice as the leaders OR in this case the shepards would lead their flocks to the promise land. IBB/Gusau/ Atihku Supportrers throw your weight behind - Saraki Buhari/AC and other voters - throw your vote behind Ribadu Goodluck J - TRANSITIONAL - The real battle is in 2015 if he wins, we should see him as someone steadying the ship until when the real battle begins, left for me I want him to lose the Primaries SO he would have no option but throw his weight behind Ribadu. Donald Duke - Through new media, youth moblization, a clear and concise structured programme in his manifestoe he can get that 40 million votes needed to win the Presidential election. I would suggest he throws his hat behind the Labor Party. Fashola- not available at this time. ![]() That to me would be a revolution, we should all bear in mind that all past revolution has failed, the french revolution failed, the russian revolution failed since they have since embrace capitalism with all its ramifications, the Cuban Revolution failed. All these revolution only ended up impoverishing their people the more hence a new direction in most of these nations. |
By banning TB Joshua, one of Nigeria's major export to the world has being severed, well noting spoil, after all the propenents of this holistic business do not pay tax OR tithes to the Nigerian authorities. |
Did President JEGA consider that when he compiled the list of those he chose to honour? How about the bags of rice and anniversary cake? (world largest cake my foot Grin) Am sure you had your shareAre u telling me IBB was not invited. I don't think JEG would be too insensitive and parohial as to not to invite an ex-President. Honouring him is a different cup of tea all together. Not all Ex-President was honoured even without being honoured, it is a honour to be an ex-President what honour can ever beat that. Would u rather take some useless honour that means noting to u, OR be the President of the nation, no sane man or woman would turn down an opportunity of being the President so IBB does not have to be aggrieved over one ye-ye honour. |
ALH. UMARU DIKKO 4.5BN 1.4bn 700m 345mIs the man worth this much, how come we are not hearing anything about him, either in the Political front or the civic front, the last I can recall was when he was granted amnesty so I suppose he is no more a Political Refugee. Strange one thus, you are worth this amount and no hears from. ![]() |
If you earning 1.7 million dollars a year, speaking English in the chambers would be least of your problem Part of the inventory that accrues to this obsene and mouth watering figure includes hireing some good hands, obviously most Senators just pocket it, someone who is deficient in the English Language can even hire an English Man from the UK with that kind of Salary. |
What was the reason for IBB's absent during the Independence anivarsary, at least for peace and unity all personal and party politics should have being kept at the back bunner only for hostilities to resume on the next day which is the 2nd of October. IBB absence from such a grandstanding and momentous occassion knowing he was an ex-president for good 8 years, not 8 days, speaks volumes, even Shonekan who was there for less than 3 months was there. Does he know something that the others do not know, becuase I know baba Iyabo, he likes life too much despite being 72 years of age he would not stick his head in arms way. |
IBB's Desperation, I have never seen anything like it b4. I now know this one no be say dem say, " Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" . What has this man forgotten in Aso Rock, for most normal and even abnormal people the 8 year stint at Aso ROCK is enough high to last them a life time but this inglorius coupist and mutineer is dearing Nigerians as if it is father's property. Nigerians have generally ignore the obsene fortune he acquired whilst in power, he is richer than the combine wealth of any past or present Presidents OR Prime Ministers in any of the Western Countries, yet he still want to put his sticking and stinking fingers on Nigeria's meagre $30 billion dollars a year. Is he for real , you are worth in excess of $24 billion dollars yet you want to take a large chunck of the $30 billion dollars meant for 150 million Nigerians. ![]() Looks like the Nigerian greed knows no bound. It is legendary, the stuff our leaders do is WORSE than the evil perpatuated in the damned colony of Soddom and Gommorah yet our God showed his displeasure by giving them instant justice, after pre-warning them through a prophet. How I wish our God today is still dispossed to that kind of treatment, people like IBB would have being struck by God, but all the same we thank God for being patient, the devil our leaders have chosen to partner is more of a formidable foe than a reliable friend and would give them more than they can chew, the devil is an uncanny agent of darkness that cannot be trusted, true he would give you power, fame , and wealth with one hand, but he would equally slip diseses, misfortune, poverty and pariah into the deal without your consent. We have seen both gift given to the Babangida's b4 our very eyes and we are seeing how the Devil has slipped an undehand and unwanted gift to that family, they are becoming a pariah in Nigeria, and would soon fall to the level of an anomaly. Poverty, what Poverty !!, IBB is not poor, some people would say , well I say the man is depleting his wealth faster than he is making money and the only place he can top-up on his money and wealth is by him gaining absolute and full control to the Nigerian till. Obviously this time, he has learnt his lessons, they say experience comes with age, some of those mis-investments and misadventure by those Western Bankers was a big mistake, I never trusted Oyinbo's for a start and those bast*rd 419 GUYS Who promise me heaven and Earth making me part with a subtantial amount of my money "may God punish them" Well I don't have time for them now, and that silly man who promise to blow Jonathan into smithereen on Indepence day got $100 million for blowing up a car 10 miles from Eagle Square, even Yakubu my driver would do a better job than that, what do this people take me for, presenting a Knock-out as a bomb, do they think I am a "Mugu" anyway no time for small talk, I have an election to win, everyone of those son and daughters of bi*ches who have cajoled me out of my hard earned money I would sure make them pay every single penny back. IBB - " Thinking aloud here, Have I really worked hard for my money uhmnnn" ![]() |
If this same man can give out Nigerian portion of land(bakassi) jst to remain in the good book of the west. But I would not call the haranguing by the Canadian Immigration Officer's of remaining in the good books of the West nor the shameless shoving by a $6 dollar an hour Secuirty operatives as a Royal tryst worthy commendations. By Giving Bakassi up OBJ has lost the right to comment on National issues and he should limit his parochialness to Ogun State, left for him Nigeria's border ends in Abeokuta anything East of that City belongs to Cameroon. |
Our mordern day politicians don't speak like that any more, what do expect from Graduates who spend 8 years doing a 4 years course. |
I can partially understand your argument. Why would I condemn someone who belives in the devil, at least a satanist is praepared to go to any lenght at proven his existence, but an athiest beleif in noting, if u get noting out of 10 u know u have got the least possible mark anyone can get, but the one who beleif in the devil has made an attempt to answer the question and the puzzles of life. ??? |
People are fed rubbish about some foreign religion and they go around ranting it is "The truth" and the solution to everything.I won't call an athiest an intelligent person, athiestism is another name of humpty dumpty, that is empty headed fellows without a view on whether he believes in God OR the devil. They can't face the perils of the world by having a stance on critical issues. I personally see them as intellectually lazy and laisser fair, is that the kind of person any nation worth his or her salt would want to choose as their leaders. To call athiest nincompops and simpletons would not be an understatment. |
The job of the army is not to maintain sublime and elementary peace in the society, it is the work of smart detectives who by using their God giving instinct can smoke out a hidden fire from any hole. The reason why this brigandage is going on for too long is the perpetuators of this dastardly act and I sincerly belief the buck of this shame possible stops at the chief security officer's lap.( Mr Governor ) Can the CSO be confronted, hell no this is Nigeria , obviously this is the Abia Goverment's idea of internal generated revenue, I think the army would only be chasing shadows, I hope they do not chase it for too long thus, because the moment the body counts start stacking up, those unruly men in uniform would turn the nuzzle of their guns at the Presidency, a prospect we all don't wish to see or ever want to witness again. |
