Pointless and irrelevant mombo jombo, Why is Tinunbu running like headless chicken from one embassy to the other if he has nothing to lose read extracts below But some concerned Nigerians were already alerting the international community to the unfolding situation in the country. Former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, visited the British Embassy in Abuja, where he discussed the issues of Nigeria’s electoral reform and the president’s health with the high commissioner. Tinubu had earlier visited the German and the United States embassies before the Tuesday call at the British embassy. He specifically raised the issue of electoral reform during his earlier visits to the embassies. Sources said Tinubu spoke the minds of opposition figures during the visit to the British embassy, where he was said to have told the high commissioner that Nigeria would abide by constitutional order, no matter what happenned to the president. |
@poster u did not tell us whether u want Sanusi to take over now or 2011. Obviously u know taking over now is an impossibility as their are well documented and laid down procedures with regards to taking over now. But come 2011 he definately gets my vote, he is a no nonsense guy who speaks his mind. |
Jonathan looks set to be playing the role of an acting President as suppose to an Executive President. With an Acting President what you get is the status quo remains the same, everybody goes about their duties as if everything is normal. Jonathan is already performing Presidential duties, looks like he will not formally get the post of Executive President therby denying him the power of hiring and fireing, all apponitees of Yardua will remain in post until the next Presidential election. Any fireing and Hiring will be a joint decision between Goodluck, SFG and other Federal Executive Councils members. Extracts from Jonathan's day in the office But, according to the source, the vice-president, on Monday evening, subtly restricted all visitors to the villa. “From Monday evening, oga has directed that all visitors who do not have any official thing to do should be stopped by the security agents. This will remain in force until the arrival of the president anytime from now. “For now, there are no more courtesy calls because such calls are usually unpatriotic and mischievous in their motives and intentions. The man has told those who wanted to pay a courtesy visit to him to wait until after this period of prayers for the president. Most importantly, those who want to offer prayers for the president or support the vice-president in prayer should remain in their homes. Most of such moves are indirect lobbying for a non-existing position because by the grace of God, the president will join us soon,” the source said. However, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Vincent Ogbulafor, was sighted at the office of the vice-president on Tuesday afternoon. The purpose of the visit was not known as State House reporters could not have an interview with him before he left. He came at the time the vice-president was meeting with a team of businessmen from South Korea and went upstairs. Ogbulafor was quoted in one national daily on Tuesday to have declared that the office of the president of Nigeria was not vacant, an apparent reference to those calling for constitutional action over the long period the president had been away for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the office of President Yar’Adua remained quiet on Tuesday as government activities shifted to the office of vice- president. But Vice-President Jonathan, it was learnt, has summoned the Bayelsa State governor, Timipre Sylva and his deputy, Peremobowei Ebebi, to Abuja, over the current political turmoil pervading the state in the wake of the local government primary of the party. Violence was reported to have marred the exercise, even as protests rocked the state in the last four days, with each trading accusations. The invitation to Abuja, it was learnt, was not unconnected to the reported explosion which occurred beside a filling station reportedly owned by the deputy governor, who had raised the alarm that his life was being threatened by agents alleged to be the governor’s loyalists. |
Fashola should concentrate on deliverying the railway rather than that pointless ID Card scheme he has embark on. To be sincere who do u think will bear the brunt if the military boys take over now with this YARDUA Debacle - Tinubu, that N16 billion his company is collecting from Lagos State will cease I can gurantee you. |
Nigeria’s constitution should rotate the post of the Presidency and VP within a 3 zone structure. 1. Northern Zone 2. South West Zone 3. Eastern Zone The Northern Zone will cover all Northern States including middle belt States. The system will be such that If the President comes from the far North Kano / Kastsina / Sokoto and other Hausa States the VP will come from the minorities in the North and that will be the Biroms in Plateau, the Tivs, Igbira, and Ingalas in Benue and Kogi State or the Yorubas in Kwara or Kogi State. Or Vice versa. The Kanuris, Adamawas, and Nupes and Southern Kadunas who Hausas but Christians can also be classified as minorities. The South West Zone will be the Yorubas and the others, Edos, Urobos,Ishekiris, Western Igbos, and Ijaws. If the President is Yoruba the VP will be from one of the minorities in these zone or vice versa The South East will be the Igbos, Ijaws,Efiks, Ibibios, Ikwerres. If the President is Igbo the VP will be from one of the minorities or vice versa. Now the VP Unlike what we have at the moment where the President is from the North and VP is from the South, there is so much mistrust between the President and the VP hence the President not handing over affairs of the state to the VP when he is indisposes. If both of them are from the same region they will work as a team to the benefit of all. Afterall Yardua on several occasions handed over the reins of the State to his Deputy Governor on his numerous trips abroad for one treatment or the other. The VP’s main job will be community cohesion; he will be tasked with inspecting all Federal Contracts in the six Political Zones. He will be stationed for 6 months period in Lagos representing SW zone inspecting all FG contracts in that Zone and making sure Abuja is constantly supplying the necessary funds needed to finish projects. The fact that there is a federal presence in the zone as per physical presence the Federal Government would be fully abreast of all problems in this Zone. After the 6 months expires he moves to the SE Zone, he will be based at Enugu repeating what he did in the SW Zone. After his 6 months expires he moves to the Northern Zone based in Kaduna for 6 months. After the 6 months expires he goes to Abuja for 6 months to brief the Presidency on priority projects in each Zone. After his 6 months Abuja expires he starts all over again another round of 6 months in each Zone. If we have these system in place the country will not be a leaderless and Rudderless state as it is today, it is only assumed as for now that Jonathan is in charge of the country but noting officially to confirm whether that is the case or not. |
Mr Anyaoku is talking nonsense, is he saying the Old Western region which was controlling everything from Mushin in Lagos State to Ogwashuku in Delta State, Iseyin in the Northern part of Oyo State to Auchi in Edo State, would the Administration in Ibadan will it be able enforce and realise the kind of development we have seen in places like Osogbo, Warri, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Abeokuta, Benin, Asaba and Metropolitan Lagos. Even a dummy knows that the development in the aforementioned towns will be rudimentary to say the least when compared to what we have on the ground today. I think Anyaoku has spent too much time abroad and is not fully conversant with what is on the ground in Nigeria. When last was he in Akure, Abeokuta, Benin or Osogbo he should take a hike. |
As it is becoming clearer by the days that Yaradua will most probably, not be returned as President in 2011, and due to the fact that the president should be from the North (PDP's Zoning formular), one question that is now coming up is the fate of Jonathan in this power play, will he be returned as VP in 2011?? How will this affect the power play equation? I dont think he will want to cme back as a VP after being the President say for 15 months. He will belong to that exclusive club of ex President and Head of States. |
Ibori has succeded in breaking the Niger delta solidarity into 2, Delta Militant will be routing for Ibori while the Rivers and Bayelsa Militants will be routing for Goodluck. Plus Ibori has the federal might behind him, they will easily crush Jonathan's faction if there was a conflict. |
BecomeRich, dont give those military boys ideas, it is over 12 years that the military has ruled. The act of planning and executing a coup is a dieing act, the last masters of these uneviable treachery act are either dead are in the last throes of their miserable lives. The Soldiers we have now are professional Soldiers, men who have stood up and be counted in places like Seirra Leone and Liberia. |
Luke 7:1-10 (web) After he had finished speaking in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum. A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death. When he heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and save his servant. When they came to Jesus, they begged him earnestly, saying, "He is worthy for you to do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he built our synagogue for us." Jesus went with them. When he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, "Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof. Therefore I didn’t even think myself worthy to come to you; but say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it." When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel." Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well. If Turai Yardua can have faith like the centurioan in this passage, then his ailment will be history. The Centurian's servant did not have to see Jesus for him to be healed it is the faith of the Centurian's boss that healed him. Turai and others should have a faith like the centurian for Yardua to be healed completely of all his ailment. If God can raise a Pastor who have died for 3 days in Onitsha on the 3rd day, God will definately heal Yardua, but the catch is Turai must have a faith like the centurian. |
The group putting presure on Jonathan to resign Have confirmed from Yardua doctors that Mr president days are Numbered and it may happen any time soon, If Mr President dies Mr Vp automaticaly takes over to complete Mr president term. But the group from the north will not want power shift to the north especialy a polititician from Niger Delta. but I believe History have a way of finding Goodluck Jonathan as his name implies. we all knew how he rose from ordinary speaker to the rank of Governor of Bayelsa, also from Pdp governor canditate to Vice president candidate. I believe history is in the making in Nigeria, and we students of history are watching patiently where the tides of history is taking Nigeria to. Believe me Obasanjo or No Obasanjo, so called powerfull kingmakers cabal, they are all pawns and officers in master chess game of Nigeria history. Is GoodLuck our Obama, what a name, and what a luck, na wahoo ![]() |
Put a poll of on the damn thing, at least these days there is a poll on everything even how many times one shit in a day. As it is we dont know who is leading at the moment, I am a poll addict now courtesy to NL, cant wait to tick the name of someone if just for the fun of it. |
I mean if ( and I mean a gynormous IF) it happens as described above, then we should all accept that ALL Nigerians(Not matter where they reside) are FOOLS and nothing more! We are talking of a nation of over 140 million people here. You can imagine 2 families or even one family becos Yuguda family = Yardua Family monopolising a post 149,999,998 can only dream off. |
Hogwash!! How is it Hogwash, are you saying the scenerio descibed in that report cannot happen or what !! ![]() |
Lt General Dambazzau - Cheif of Army Staff can the southerners manoauver these Hausa / Fulani General and a Sokoto Princel to acheive their goal. ![]() |
What if the North hatch a plan of making Jonathan President later on bring up a trump up allegation of fraud, embezzlement on him whilst at the helms of affairs in Bayelsa State, we all know there no saints amongst our Political Elites. Invariably with evidence of wrong doing clear as day light, Jonathan will qualify as a candidate for Impeachment thereby making Yuguda the Crown Prince of Aso Rock |
Yuguda seems to have been penciled down to be Jonathan's VP if making the VP to resign might lead to anarchy, the view is Yuguda should understurdy Jonathan for 1/1/2 years in which he will be positioned to take the mantle for the PDP with James Ibori being his VP. This plan will only come to fruition if they cannot convince the VP to resign. OBJ according to the report below has move some of its operational base to Abuja and he is pushing for the Jigawa Governor to be Jonathan's VP. Following Yar’Adua’s admission, for the first time, of a life-threatening condition, the battle for the soul of Nigerian politics has now broken out in two cities on two continents: Jeddah and Abuja, with Abuja as the epicenter. In Abuja, a group loyal to Yar’Adua, led by his Chief Economic Adviser, Tanimu Kurfi and Abba Ruma has sworn to frustrate any talk of handing over of power to Yar’adua’s vice, Goodluck Jonathan. Even though Jonathan Goodluck claims publicly that everything is okay with him, people knowledgeable about his status told Saharareporters that the report in The Punch newspaper of November 28 that he is being threatened with forced resignation is completely truthful. Meanwhile, a splinter segment of the pro-Yar’Adua group, led by James Ibori, has moved to Dubai. Ibori has been operational there since Thursday, and his plan is to keep in close contact with Yar’Adua in Saudi Arabia and help coordinate the anti-Goodluck forces outside the shores of Nigeria. This group has also vowed to convince Yar’Adua not to hand over power. They calculate that Yar’Adua would be superficially healthy enough to return to Nigeria in December or early in 2010 without officially handing over to Goodluck Jonathan. Ibori, who seems to have been assured by someone in the current administration that he will never be convicted for any of his corruption and money-laundering cases, is eyeing the Vice Presidency in 2011, either under Yar’Adua or someone else from the north. Late last night, the Abuja pro-Yar’Adua group sent an emissary directly to Jeddah to meet with Yar’Adua in the hospital. The group comprises three persons: Yar’Adua’s son-in-law, Isah Yuguda, businessman Aliko Dangote, and the governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki. They arrived in Jeddah but our source said a face-to-face meeting had not taken place by the close of today. Isah Yuguda is being positioned to become Jonathan’s VP in case Yar’Adua resigns. Another group of political manoeuvres is led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who discreetly moved to Abuja last night to start working quietly with Jonathan. That group proposes that should Yar’Adua not make it back to power, Jonathan Goodluck should choose Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, as his deputy. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is also considering conducting their presidential primaries in June next year, a few months earlier than scheduled. It is now almost certain that Yar’Adua cannot be a candidate in the 2011 elections, but his supporters are hell-bent on propping him in place until the PDP can conduct its primaries in 2010. Meanwhile, in Jeddah, Yar’Adua is surrounded by his immediate family, his daughters, wife as well as the governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema. Turai, it is known, is determined that her husband remain in office. But the true state of his health remains shrouded in high secrecy following the leak in a local Saudi newspaper last week which forced his doctor and aides to partially reveal his immediate condition. It did not escape Nigerians that the announcement did not reveal the full story about other conditions Yar’Adua is suffering from, or their possible consequences. SOURCE - SAHARA REPORTERS |
WOW. What and irony, in one post you completely contradict yourself like this? What a shame, you had some good ideas. If it is due process for the assembly to vote out Yar Adua (which is in order and should have happened a long time ago), it is also due process for the VP to take over. THAT, my friend, is the RULE OF LAW. So please do not drag such tenets through the mud anymore by claiming you know what they mean then desecrating them in thesame sentence. I am quite disappointed that you could so easily sink into the whole "North must have their eight years" trite. WHAT A SHAME; where in the constitution does it say that? Or are we now saying that the rule of law is now dependent on the rules that govern PDP and a "gentlemen's" agreement (gentlemen my foot) that the rest of the nation was not consulted about? How disappointing indeed. Apologies if you feel insulted but this is just irritating, people should stop using phrases like "due process" and "rule of law" if they can't comprehend what it means, the title of your post is misleading, please name it "Due Process and Rule of Law according to @Knowall" Point 5, of my write up is a classified docs for the vp eyes only since I cannot get to him personally, I decided to post it here, Nairalanders should not really comment on that point. They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, the beholder in this context knows what I am talking about and can possibly do something about it. What can you do about point 5, are u in a position to make things happen, if not disregard that point and pretend u did not see it, those that it concerns I am sure they have understand my Lingo. To reterate again point 5 is a rejoinder of the Original article which ends at point 4 and is for some specific eyes. |
By not formalling handing over to Jonathan, any other miscreants, wives and concubines can carry out official duties whilest claiming to representative of Yardua. What we now have is the exploitation of a name in other to fast forward some individuals personal agendas and aggarandizment, the name of Yardua is only use as a refrence point to open doors. The Irony is that the said Yardua might be in a coma or better still, under intesive care, alive only by the aid of machines unaware of the shinanigans happening around him even in the hospital ward. |
I hope this administration will pass the ultimate rule of law or is it due process a word made popular by Mr President, if anything else Yardua will be remembered for reminding Nigerians that there is a word called due process in the English Language. A word this administration anchored it policies, commniques, and general funtionality on. We see how it pans out in the weeks and months to come. |
We should not underestimate the power of Good-luck, all those hoodlums collecting 65,000 a month are under him. He might not have the conventional armed forces under him at the moment, he has his own de-facto force that could make the country ungovernable for any goverment in Abuja. If u cannot dig the black gold from the ground how will the goons in Abuja eat. It is then one will realise that Abuja is a peniless town tied by an umbilical cord to the oil in the South-South. |
With the throes our nation is going through, the dileman of our sick President should be- re- addressed and re-examinined in the context of performance appraisal and practicality. It would appear from sources that the the President has lost the dignity and necessity accompined with ferrying oneself from point A to Point B, having read a report in which it was indicative that the President could not even walk to the Plane carrying him out of the country in the dead of the Night. This is rather unfortunate and embarassing, not that it is embarassing he cannot walk, but the fact that the President and his entourage had to result into berging into a foreign country as refugees without visas speaks volume. Have they thought for a moment that the Saudis might not want to issue a visa to this scronger to power Yardua is fast becoming, his antics and stubboness might have infuriated the Saudi doctors just as did the Germans. The thought that a President requires a Visa sent a shiver down my spine, how come diplomats dont need one, and the President who sanctions diplomatic Passport requires one. Something is amiss here, that story does not hold water, Yardua's pressboys think we are kindergatens, we might behave and pretend to be stupid in Nigeria but we are not daft. The German doctors have already told him in a clear voice without mincing words, that he requires a comprehensive medical care, that will mean his inceration in an hospital for months on end, but our power drunk first lady will not want Yardua to take this option for reasons best known to her. Now we are hearing whether it is rumours or fact, that some dark powerful forces in the North are urging the VP to resign his post so that a Northerner can be selected as President. This ploy is not on, If our constitution does not beleive a VP can become the President in case of any eventualities then the clause and post of the VP should be expunged from the constitution and the post of the VP banned. What I dont get about these so called power brokers is how come it is ok for deputy Governors to become Governors in case of any eventualities and when it comes to the Presidency and the VP the rules has to change. There are 2 solutions to the present impasse, it is either the VP resigns and the office of the VP banned for ever not to be used again since having an ambition of taking over from your boss is not part of the Job description, we might as well do without that post, the nation will be saving a lot of money if one were to consider the amount spent in retaining the VP in his office. If on the other hand we still want the post of the VP to be relevant in our polity, then future Presidential Candidates should know that their VP's are President-in-waiting except if something extra-ordinary happens. If one were to take continuity as a factor, it makes sense for a President to have his 2 terms and if all is well his VP should also be made to run for the next 8 years if he wins the election. That will create an agenda and development plan that will spans 16 years, of course assuming they one all 4 elections. If the post of the VP is still relevant today as I write I will suggest the following: 1. The NASS should convene a meeting in which the physical condition of the president should be the bone of contention, if for any reason Mr President cannot manouver himself round his office let alone the Nation, then it is not demeaning, it is factual he should be persuaded to resign or voted out of office. 2. If the Executives in the FEC realise the chairman of their meeting is not able to address main issues affecting the nation, they too should fulfill their constitional duties. 3. If the Politicians dilly-dally on these for too long without making a firm decsion b4 it is too late the Miliatary boys will take advantage of the these avoidable impasse. 4. Our last VP should be President but for his strong views and personalty and his no-nonesense stance with OBJ. 5. This VP has being loyal to his boss and should be compensated accordingly. The VP should start making his own in-roads in this administration, especially with regards to the personalties in the army, navy and airforce. I will not want to go into details about these, I am sure he understands my drift. I will expect him to. |

What are the Dangote, Otedola’s waiting for, does anyone seriously think any foreign firm will come to our shores and build a refinery in other to make money for themselves and provide jobs for our people, If any Nigerian believe such arrant nonsense, then that person or persons can believe anything. It is bad enough that the Venezuelan Ambassador to Nigeria had to remind our honourable Minister of Information that Nigerians are the best people to take care of her affairs and not foreigners’, I am sure such views will probably be shared by our numerous JSS students it is not rocket science. I believe the only investors who will put their mind, body and soul on big business and investment like Refineries are Nigerians. I am sure a lot of looters are looking for ventures to put their ill-gotten wealth on but to no avail. James Ibori will be eager to spend those billions on such ventures, I am pretty sure he is bored stiff counting his billions every morning since he left office. Look at his co-looter in no other person than Odili, he has since moved on to better things Arik airline, I must confess, that airline is a first class airline with first class service, no foreigner will give us good quality. |
Characteristically, Yar'Adua did not hand over to his vice, Jonathan Goodluck, a man he either fears, or holds in contempt, as he never hands the constitutional batton of power to him. In the corridors of power, the lackluster deputy is generally referred to as the "Social Prefect" because of his powerlessness and lack of influence in the presidency. Even the presentation of the 2010budget was done by Yar'Adua aides on Tuesday. I think the constitution is clear with regards to the VP’s position, I dont think any official hand- over is required when a President is indispose. The VP having being sworn in 2007 with Yardua does not require another fresh mandate for him to take over the reins of affair of the state, if and when required. It is the VP's constitutional, moral and obligatory duty to assume the office of the Presidency in the absence of his boss. |
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=982326 Soludo should build a new city by the banks of River Niger, a City like al-noor a brand new city on the banks of the Nile, that is proposed just outside Khartoun in the Sudan. Enjoy these picture, actually these pictures are here to stimulate, enlighten and give an insight to Soludo and any other Nigeria Governors who have grand schemes, they should know they don’t need to look beyond the shores of Africa to get Inspiration. After building a city with Condones and River View apartments, reasonable mortgages of 5% deposits should be established and repayment of loans of between 10 to 25 years repayment should be the norm. The clientele will be both Nigerians at home in Nigeria and those in Diasporas. They should discourage the money- bags from buying all the properties. The Government will be will collecting Ground-Rent, Service Charges and Council Tax from the properties built a very good revenue base for any government. |
It is one thing to plan, it is another thing to implement, It will dawn on Soludo on how inadequate Nigerians and our civil service has become when he gets into the hot sit. A command ordered by the boss will be echoed down the chain of command, the chain might be 50 steps down, what invariably happens is that the 50th person who got this command might be opearting at a different level from the originator of the command, one will realise such commands gets lost in translation. Instead of implementing XYZ, ABC and a really low quality ABC is presented for the price of XYZ. I have experince the Nigeria factor at first hand and, it will take an act of God for this peculiar factor to be banished from our DNA. Was it not Obi that drew the original master plans for Onitsha, Nnewi and Akwa, he spent a lot of money employ national and International consultants to draft a comprehensive master plans for these cities. What happened to his vision upon mounting the rostrum was it lost in translation again. ![]() |
The Eton-Oxford-Cambridge Guys are taking over in the UK in the next Political dispensation, the oldest guy amongst the set of young guns that will be running Britain is probabaly 48, the average age is 44 years. And I believe they will re-position Britain and move Britain forward. If it can happen in Britain it can happen in Nigeria. |
Apart from lagos which other part of the country is making any meaningful progress?is it an eastern thing? As`far `as nigeria remains the way it is the country will bear the brunt of the problems in the east. Funnily where you not the one complaining how the people from your state are running to lagos and overseas for a better life while igbos taking over your home town in ondo? I was in Ondo for one week, I will live there than live in lagos, I dont need Lagos's money, I am already a made man after spending the better part of 20 years abroad, I am not your average Naija hussler who will be running to Lagos or Abuja for anything. While in Ondo, I did not have to watch my back from Kidnapleggers, who have gone amock in the East even the sons and daughters of the high and mighty are not safe from these men in the shadows, to tell them about Biafra is to talk in parabales, these are scums of the Earth they will even kidnap their own father's and mother's in other to balckmail their own siblings. That kind of problem at present does not exist in Ondo Town. My argument is while spend and waste so much energy on a dead- beat issue such as old Baifra rhetorics and propanganda when there are real life, cultural, and city threatning issues at hand. |
