Foreign Affairs › Re: Black Voters Flocking To Trump, Can No Longer 'Afford' To Vote For Biden In 2024 by Konquest: 11:17pm On Mar 14, 2024
OLAADEGBU:
Peterson blamed Biden's immigration and economic policies for the pivotal shift.

He argued black communities are mostly impacted by migrant crime as illegal immigrants continue to flood through the porous borders.

"It's the economy, it's the borders," Peterson said. "What is not being talked about [is] a lot of these the aliens are coming in and they are ending up in the black communities… in the schools. The gang violence between the black gangs and Hispanic gangs and other gangs that are coming in is out of control."

According to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll released in January, Biden’s support among black voters has fallen to just 63%, down from the 92% that Pew Research Center data shows he won in the 2020 presidential election. His support among Hispanic voters is down to 34% from 59%.

Black voters flocking to Trump, can no longer 'afford' to vote for Biden in 2024, reverend says.
Joe Biden, the current POTUS is rapidly being hit on all sides. He has to be still... and listen, then take the final actions needed to get his primary voting demographics back on track.

For the historic Black Dems voters, it's either they abstain from voting OR they vote for Trump in November 2024, if things don't pan out in terms of border controls and economic-wise. Period.

Seller A's pricing option has a LOWER entry level.

He can clean out that whole division easily but he just needs killer instincts and he will be fine. He has the skill sets to knock all those guys out, it’s his mind that needs work
I still think the period between when Muhammed Ali and Mike Tyson boxed in the professional work heavyweight division were the golden years. Folks back then boxed for the love of the sport... they boxed for REAL!

The N4000 analogy cracked me up... meat (3), pounded yam (4), and egusi in the mix... LMAO.

Tbh though, inflation is a killer. Even in the U.S. over the last 100 years, inflation has drastically reduced the amount of food items (such as loaves of bread) that can be bought with 1 USD with ones personal income. The real deal is to hedge against hyperinflation by investing in monetary gold.

Most folks on the street level don't even know this and what's gonna hit them. This is the main reason why all the major global Central Banks that know what's up, from Russia, to China, Iran, the U.S., Australia, etc, are stockpiling gold bars in their bank vaults.

Check the pictorial representation below of how gold is more valuable than the USD over the years:

ijustdey:
‘Proposed bridge will boost global business’

‘Proposed bridge will boost global business’

The Federal and Lagos State governments have said 795 houses might be demolished to pave the way for the construction of the proposed 37-kilometre Fourth Mainland Bridge.

The two authorities said a lot of efforts had been made to reduce the number of affected structures from about 9,000 to less than 800.

This was even as the state government assured that owners of the affected property would be adequately compensated, despite the prevailing economy circumstances.

It said all stakeholders would be satisfactorily considered in the execution of the project.

Speaking at the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Stakeholders’ scoping workshop with the Federal Ministry of Environment in Lagos, Environment Minister Mamoud Abubakar said there should be sincere commitment on the part of Lagos State government on the compensation for owners of affected properties.

The minister, who was represented by a director in the ministry, James Kolawole, explained that though the project would have about 16 alignments, but the best had been selected.

“There was an alignment that will affect about 9,000 structures along the corridor, but we have reviewed it and gone for the alignment that will affect about 795 houses, instead of the one that will take more houses. It is an ongoing thing on how best to minimise the negative impact,” he said.

The State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development said the bridge, which will connect Lagos and Ogun states, will pass through Abraham Adesanya in Lagos and Sparklight Estate near the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

A town planner in the ministry, Mr. Abayomi Omolola Amos said the alignment of the project had been carefully designed to reduce the number of houses that should be demolished.

The Federal Government said the proposed bridge will boost economic growth and enhance international trade.

Abubakar said the Lagos State government had been working on the project for about four years and had made several representations to the Federal Government.

The minister, whom spoke through Kolawole, said the project would enhance commerce and international trade to improve the people’s livelihoods.

He congratulated the state government on the laudable project, while stressing the need to take cognisance of both positive and negative impacts of the project on stakeholders.

According to him, doing this will ensure all issues are addressed to avoid compromising the comfort of future generations.

“For us as a ministry, we are happy with the positive impact, but there is need to resolve the negative aspects: what we need is sustainable development,” he said.

FulaniDNA:
Fulani DNA
Even though an origin in the central Sahara has been suggested on archaeological grounds [53], we found that the contemporary Fulani have a predominant West African genetic background combined with North African and European ancestry fractions.
Source: https://bmcgenomics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12864-019-6296-7
Advanced DNA tests indeed show a European ancestry fraction from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) based on all the ancestry DNA research work and videos I have seen in the last 15 years.

This ISN'T strange because historically, the Berbers (also called Amazighs) of North Africa (who are native to Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya) had alongside Muslim Arabs invaded Spain and Portugal and occupied that region for over 700 years till 1492 when the Spanish and Portuguese combined their military forces to kick the Moors (Berbers/Arabs) out of the Iberian Peninsula. Spain was infact called Al-Andalus by the Muslim.

So, in the course of occupation of Spain, the Berbers fathered children from Spanish women and there were a male Spanish Muslim converts. So, that's how European ancestral bloodlines got mixed with Berber bloodlines.

When after 1492, the Berber-Arabs got kicked out of Europe, many of them returned in large numbers to North Africa and proceeded to destabilize already existing empires in West Africa by attacking them with muskets got from Europe. In the course of these attacks by people of Berber stock, they also started fathering children with some captive females from West Africa ethnic stocks in the Mauritania and Senegal area and that is how the Fulani stock EVOLVED with a paternal Berber lineage (who as earlier stated have a small Iberian Peninsula or Spanish bloodline) from their over 700 years in Spain, and a maternal lineage that has an indegenous West African maternal lineage.

This is why the Fulanis also have a small Iberian Peninsula (Spanish) and Berber lineage, plus the West African maternal lineage from the Senegal/Mauritania area. In terms of looks, some of the Fulanis like the Bororos also have the lighter skins, slim features and pointed nostrils further confirming the North African side of their lineage. But a vast percentage of Fulani lineage is genetically West African because of admixtures with other West African groups that have wiped out the North African physical body structures.

All the male and female Fulanis who's ancestry DNA tests I have studied ALL have that small European and Berber DNA percentage popping up.

iukpe:
In 1977 my Dad bought a brand New Volvo 244DL from RT Briscoe for N7,777. Sold our VW Beetle car to our church member for N900 and also a brand new Peugeot 404 pickup for my mum's business at about N4000.

In 1979 my secondary school boarding fees was N60 per term and you could eat 3 meals a day for about 3months.

In 1985 I could spend N20 pocket money for a week on university campus for meals that cost N1 per plate so approximately 3meals x 7days would be N21 but by the 6th or 7th day I would get another N20 from my dad to carry on the eating. Anything I needed to do was left for me from that same money so if I wanted a haircut, mineral or bread, a new pair of jeans which was also about N1 it was up to my sense of opportunity cost.

But It was about the value of the Naira to the dollar which is presumed stable till today.
Thanks for the R.T. Briscoe memories and more. It resonated with me.

The Peugeot 504 couldn't have been sold for the N1500 amount the OP quoted on this thread as of 1975. You also clearly indicated that your mother's brand new Peugeot 404 pickup was N4000 as of the late 1970s. I've been wondering how people just shamelessly lift up half-truths and relentlessly spread them online without fact-checking with credible sources.

Indeed, I remember full well that R.T. Briscoe and J. Allen were the dealerships or places to go to if you wanted to purchase brand new cars back in the 1970s and beyond.

My father too had a Lada saloon car in the early 1970s, and a red Volvo from R.T. Briscoe in the late 1970s. He later got a brand new German-made caramel-brown Opel (the Opel somersaulted due to a bad tyre pressure at a bad expressway section in Kontangora when my dad and his younger brother where traveling in it from Lagos to Kano in 1978 but they both survived with injuries due to the seatbelts they wore), a brand new Russian-made Moskvich for his company use, and a brand new Volkswagen Igala for my mum (all in the late 1970s). The cheapest cars in Nigeria we're majorly the Japanese car brands in the 1970s oil boom era through to the 1980s.

You could get brand new cars if you were credit-worthy by making down payments in the 1970s right into the 1980s.

P.S.
@sukkot,

@naptu2,
How's it going?

Can we get some fact-checks from you to know if the OP of this thread is right about a 1975 Peugeot costing N1500. I CANNOT recollect that 504 car costing as low as N1500 when VW Beetles and Peugeot 404s went for N4000 in the late 1970s. At least some of us the OGs here on NL can confirm with clarity some specifics from the 1970s and 1980s.

Thanks.

Also, that Peugeot 504 was made in Nigeria.
