What you wrote above there is called selfishness and irresponsibility.

A child was abused in a school by a staff employed by ‘grand ma’ and the school management.
That boy was lucky to only lose a tooth, he was feverish and poorly the following day because of the trauma inflicted on him.

If the child’s condition and the teacher’s wicked action didn’t trigger any cardiac issues on her then shutting the school down or sanctioning the school shouldn’t affect her health.

Life is at risk here. God forbid that little man develops some health issues because of this.

If the grandma proprietress isn’t fit enough to manage the school, she should retire and rest.
Management comes with a sorts of risks and dangers.
If she’s not fit to run a school, protect children, train her staff or sanction them when they err, then she should leave that school for someone else.

It’s very offensive to blackmail the child’s mother that should some grandma proprietress develop health problem because an evil meted on her child was reported to authorities who acted by closing down her poorly run school.

It’s very irresponsible to worry about the school being sanctioned over this case.

That school actually need to be closed down or at least placed on watchlist.
I’m sure most of the staff knew about this case but chose to cover up the act. I’m also sure that the staff would’ve been abusing the children there. This case just exposed them and it is actually good for the management of the school to react and act otherwise that teacher or her like would commit murder right there.

Some things happen for a reason so we can learn and put our house in order.

You’ve had the urge to learn swimming and very eager to become a good swimmer…you can’t just assume Igbos have phobia for water because your friends weren’t so keen at that very moment you wanted to go swimming…no sane adult who isn’t very comfortable in water would jump inside a swimming pool just like that.

I have lots of friends who grew up around rivers and lakes and they are mostly good swimmers. People/locals tend to avoid lakes and rivers with dangerous animals living in them…eg, Agulu lake has crocodiles in them….you wouldn’t expect people risking their lives swimming in such body of water…but guess what, there are lots of Agulu people who expert swimmers, Nsugbe people are comfortable swimming same with every town with large expanse of water.

I watched a documentary on tv about some riverline community ‘dipping’ their babies in the rivers/sea as a part of traditional induction. I’m not sure of any Igbo community that does that.

I think swimming is best learnt as a child, if you miss such early orientation, it’d be hard to learn it as an adult when you have more challenges and responsibilities… except in your own case, you have the passion, access to a swimming and the means to pay for a swimming instructor.

Do your research well, Igbo communities with lakes and rivers don’t have phobia for water as you claimed.
