free2ryhme: With all the noise about "you can apply for your passport right from the comfort of your home or office. No more long queues or hassle" the ministry of interior is still embroiled in production debts to the turn of N16b and not as if the booklets are giving to Nigerians for free or subsidized. Nigerians pay heavy for these booklets

Nairaland General › Re: Is It Too Late To Know How To Do This As A Young Man Like Me? by kuntash: 9:30am On Mar 09, 2024 |
Drella: Hello people. I'm in my early twenties in a tertiary institution. I am this gentle guy that is mostly quiet. I noticed that there are many financially okay guys as young as I am that are doing well unlike me. Now, I'm talking about the ones hustling legitimately.
I also want to be okay financially, but they tend to share information only with those they are close to. There were updates about Arbitraging, Web 3 airdrop and testnet stuff that I only got to hear when it was too late. I talk to these guys, roll with them, but they never see me as close enough to carry me along.
Even for those freelancing, they know techniques to get orders fast and constantly but will not share with me. One said I should bring 250k when I'm ready to start freelancing. I don't even have 50k in my name. Whenever I tell them to "show me way" knowing they do legit stuffs, they tell me they too are looking for way.
Growing up, I was restricted so I suck at making friends and socializing. I have been trying to get better since I left secondary school but my social skills barely improved.
I researched online on my own to get updates but many were scam, overpriced classes/courses e.t.c. Though I have picked up a skill to learn but before I get good and start earning, I'll need sustenance.
Is it too late to improve my social skills in my early twenties? If no, how? How can I move from just acquaintances to a friend that can be carried along in important things? If you can listen and harken DILIGENTLY to God and follow his tenets, my dear the sky would be your limit especially at this age .. This may be a very unpopular recommendation in this instance , but God's grace is definitely the ultimate. Hustle pure and let God's guiding principles be your watch word. All the best ! |

wrongman665: I am not a member of APC but i believe in this govenment. You can say you believe in the country getting it right . But the harm being done here is the party matter , since 2015 , the APC has been enshrined in looking after or preferring only those that supported them in their party to man the affairs of governance. And this has been haunting them . When they start looking beyond party lines for solutions , the country can move positively and faster too |

Eni awifun Oba je o gbo.
Many of them are so stuck now that they can't even be as sincere to themselves as he is.
It's nothing but a wrong mindset to think that you will resent your own land/ country and expect that you will prosper on that land or overseas, it's impossible!
When you are not blessed in Nigeria, it's not because others are not doing well here in Nigeria, for most of you, you were horribly raised with the wrong mindset and indoctrinated to hate Nigeria by some of your parents who were part of those behind the multiple problems now facing the nation so you ended up and continued your life in a circle of negative minded unpatriotic people. You curse Nigeria, the land curses you back in multiple folds and nothing you sow in the land will prosper but if you bless Nigeria, the land blesses you back in multiples.
Until you wish Nigeria well and do your best in patriotism, you will never be blessed by this land and if you carry your resentment and hatred for Nigeria overseas, the rejection by Nigeria will follow you like your shadow.
The grass is always greener on the other side until you get there. What you are doing here in Nigeria is so valuable that if you nurture it well, you will one day be going overseas for business/ professional travels and enjoy vacations with your family and friends. And even if you still don't go overseas, you will be happy, safe, fulfilled and blessed here in Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! guy, you speak as if you are full of hate for anyone who decides to leave the country, I say so because you didnt stick to this particular instance of this guy's story, firstly if I need to go by your response, Was he resentful about Naija? or was he cursing the Land? Also are you saying anyone that tells the Naija story like the President did himself in Doha recently about the corrupt officials in the line of doing biz in Nigeria would reap bad things in multiple folds? Oga take it easy, resentment is too serious a phrase to use in this instance, there are people who speak so bad of Naija and they are doing well both home and abroad, while there are also those who speak so well and support anything the govt does, yet they are feeling the heat more than any other person both in Naija and abroad. My take here however, is that whoever wishes to leave the country should plan his way and not out of desperation, more planning should be done when you have no one to leverage on over there . Do a test run for a period to make your decision. @OP, if you appreciate the possitivity Nigerians in diaspora are dishing out especially in terms of finance to sustain the economy, I am sure you might want to rephrase your post. India once upon a time esperienced severe brain drain, but today they have been able to utilize that expertise of brain drain to build they country . Bottom line therefore, negative energies should be directed at Bad rulers or leadership! Call out those who arent doing well and applaud anyone that tries to get things right! |

SoNature: Why does Southern Nigeria have rivers all over the place but we don't build hydropower plants? All the hydropower plants are in the North! Gas is not a renewal energy source and will finish in the future. Hydro power stations are affected by topography, gradient, which in turn affects the force of the water. you find these features around the northern part of the country, thats where you see fast moving waters , unlike in the south... take River Ethiope for example, as deep as it is and as often high volume it has, you always see the waters very calm, as if its not moving. Every region has its potential to surving, however, with a leader devoid of any form of ethnocentric or religious chauvinism can take the entire country to its El dorado. |

Romance › Re: No Matter How Deep You Love A Lady, Never Do These Five Things For Her by kuntash: 12:24pm On Feb 27, 2024 |
kmaster007: There are some certain things you should never do for a woman no matter how much you love her, all in the name of pleasing her.
As a man, you have the responsibility to make your woman happy but there should be limit. You have an ego to defend as a man and you should not let a woman ruin it or take advantage of you simply because you love her. Below are 5 things you must never do to please a woman;
1.) Pay Her School Fees
Unless she is your wife, never pay for a woman’s education. It is okay to help her and support her when she is in school but paying everything for her is a NO. If you feel compelled to do it. However, do not assume that she will forever be indebted to you. People change and she might as well choose to love someone else even after all your efforts.
2.) Forget Your Dreams For Her
Before you met her, remember you had your own dreams and aspirations. Do not stop chasing them just because she does not like what you do. If you wanted go study abroad, the last thing you want to do is change your mind because she is not comfortable with it. If she cannot wait, let her be but never stop pursuing your dreams to please a woman.
3.) Commit a Crime For Her
If you cannot sustain her flashy lifestyle, do not steal or do something stupid just to please her. If she loves you for real, she will understand when you are broke and will not pressure you to sort out her financial matters.
4.) Never Disrespect Your Family
Women can be so manipulative especially when they know you love them for sure and you can do anything to have them stay. Some will try to show you how bad your family members are and draw you further from them. If she ever leaves you, the only people you will have behind you is your family. So, never cut your family ties to make a girl happy.
5.) Compromise Your Needs For Hers
Unless it’s really necessary, you should be a little bit selfish with yourself. You cannot afford to go hungry so that you can send her money to buy food. You can maybe share the little you have but never sacrifice all you got just to make her happy. place a caveat to your title please. A WIFE is also a lady |

What more do they have there besides good healthcare, infrastructure, and institutions? Does it suggest that black people living in Africa face poverty, lack of basic needs, poor health, and inadequate housing?

malali: I have said it time and again. This current government does not have a good Minister of Information.
This current administration is well dressed but its standing in a dark room. (A lot of people cant see the nice clothes if the Minister doesn't turn on the light)
Minister of Information needs to highlight the journey and sell Hope to Nigerians.
Lai Mohammed defended Buhari's regime to the last at the expense of his reputation and clashed with Nigerians many times.
The current minister takes a Hands off approach. He needs to wake up and start engaging Nigerians, He needs to bring information before questions are asked, He needs to engage Nigerians so much they are tired of asking questions, He needs to get bloggers and media to tweet and post the good things done, those in the pipeline and those anticipated in the future.
Nigerians will eventually call the Minister a liar, but that comes with the Job. You cannot please everybody.
He has one of the most difficult jobs that can make or destroy this administration. Tell your Minister to wake up, the world is now digital. Go to Nollywood, cast stories that will depict what has been happening in Nigeria and changes made for better results, let the citizens know why there will be pain before things improve. But you cannot give what you do not have! turning on what light? on What foundation are they gonna turn it on ? being an expert in politics its ENTIRELY different from having the SINCERE capacity to govern a people according to the laid down rules or manifesto. thats just the simple truth! |

That Itchy boot lady on youtube is giving so much updates on her journeys. maybe its for you to take a peep so you dont get negative surprises because some African countries are really not that safe at the moment, I hope you know Sudan, Congo, Mali and Somalia are in Africa bablojnr: https://independent.ng/guinness-world-records-nigerian-traveler-sets-to-tour-54-african-countries-by-road-sea/
https://allure.vanguardngr.com/2024/02/ileri-babalobi/
My name is Ileri Babalobi and I am trying to become the 1st African to visit all 54 African countries without using a plane. In the process,I plan to set 2 Guinness world records and Raise money for the Nigerian Red Cross. I expect to take about 6months. Here's why I'm doing this
I've been backpacking for nearly 10 years now. I have been to all 36 states of Nigeria, and when I lived in Ghana, all the 16 regions there as well as over a dozen African countries. i've been trying to visit all African countries for a long time and I'm finally close to doing it
On the trip I'll be exploring the culture and visiting the Tourist Areas of each place I visit and stream it on YouTube here https://youtube.com/@africatours . I've always been interested in how people in other cultures and places live. Which brings me to why I'm making this trip . ..
1) Im very Pro Nigerian and without being facetious, I've always wanted to do something for her Gratis . I hope to raise a lot of money for the Nigerian Red Cross. The official name of the attempt is Naija to the World and at each Border I'll take a picture with the Nigerian flag.
2 I want to show how people in other countries live 3 I would be promoting the Borderless Africa campaign by Africans Rising, which seeks to remove barriers to migration ( such as expensive visas) among African Nations. 4) it's a Chance to fulfill a life long personal dream .
I'll leave from Lagos in March and I plan to do a daily summary here on nairaland everyday , as well as two YouTube videos of the days adventures. Advice and tips are welcome
