PoliticsRe: Reuters----80% Lagosians Will Vote Jonathan. How True? by Lagosboy: 3:26pm On Apr 05, 2011
Rubbish poll, this is the same poll thisday used 2 weeks ago. This poll is telling us 68% of Nigerians are fools, 68% of Nigerians dont want change, 68% of Nigerians are comfortable with no power, good roads , happy with the PDP bad governance for 12 years. Common we are wiser than this.

This poll says 80% of Lagosians are crazy, PDP has never won an election in Lagos with or without the Igbo votes as some commentators are saying the igbo votes of 42& in LAgos will go to GEJ. This is an insult to our Igbo brothers in Lagos who have always stood for good governance.

GEJ cannot win even 40% of Lagos votes.

Wonderful to see hour by hour progress is being made.

Do you guys already know about the breakfast meeting with BB tomorrow at Awolowo road ikoyi at 8. 00 am. This will be a great opportunity for those on ground to interact with the two honest men about to change Nigeria for the better.

Then BB road tour from TBS - Tinubu Square - Idumota - Oyingbo - Sabo - Fadeyi - Maryland - Archbishop Vinning ground for BB rally.
It will be da bomb God willing and this rally will be the best in Lagos . The crowd will eclipse Ribadu and GEJ  combined. The street tour is a very good idea and I hope it will be a success.

I have been off internet for a few days and back to see lots of progress has been made. I would have loved to contribute to this as well but already committed to the campaign proper.

I honestly think Nairalands name should not be included in the ad, Integrity Vanguard is enough for this ad, the donors i think should have the final say weather Seun approves it or not.

God willing in the next 2 weeks we shall be here celebrating our sweet victory.

Inshallah when i find sometime we would try to clear the air inshallah on some of this issues as we seem to be mixing things up here.

Forgiveness for day to day issue is different from reclaiming your right back. It is also different from acts of war, it is also different in terms of opression. Perhaps we could open another thread to explain things.
PoliticsRe: Utomi Quits Presidential Race by Lagosboy: 5:15pm On Mar 30, 2011
Whoever gave him that advice has done the a wonderful thing. Mr Utomi cannot win any ward in Edo state where he is from. This has nothing to do with his intellect neither does it have anything to do with his not being mega rich , it is only because he doesnt have grassroots touch.

He would have made impacts in the senate, governorship or minister. Everyone doesnt have to be president to make an impact.

@Alimat,in as much as we can agree and we can also dis agree on many issue regards to Islam,i mean what you view as forgiveness on my own might not be,and retailation or instilling the appropriate legal punishment may be the right measure i would take and handle things,as far as am concern,if i wish to forgive the offender thats fine and if i dnt forgive it also not a sin on my own part,as Allah dnt say if i retailate i will end up sinning, its the choice Allah has given us as human being, because He knows us better,as a matter of fact, not killing a despoiler that violated your daughter and an armedrobber that broke into your home and also threatened to kill you or killed you or one of your household is not the best thing, its shows you are among those breeding more despoiler and armedrobbers, just like Lagosboy has just showed us how he planned breeding rapists that violated her sister,i mean, apart from eye for an eye, these evil people are those causing corruption on earth and one of the punishment prescribed by Allah for them is death,so why pitying them?only an evil people would advocate and start preaching outside the fold of Islam, all in the name of making Islam look seeminly appealing to non- muslims.
I try not to be angry at all time but sister you are getting on my nerves honestly, if english reading comprehension is a problem for you go take extra lessons in it.

Your brother rapes a woman, is the solution of eye for an eye applicable when the victims brother rapes you too. If you can answer that question then it will be wonderful.

Did you not see where i said criminals will have to face a judge where appropirate punishment would be metted out for crimes.

Please leave me out of your posts please!!!

All these things are illegal in Islam and we should all try to be decent and use the appropriate words that suits the moment, even in real life,a conscious muslima or muslim man dnt flirt with opposite sex under the cloak of appreciation.May Allah increase us in iman, amin.

Gbawe:
My guy , one would have thought that your many intelligents posts would indicate that you are above this type of sexist and disrespectful talk. Okonjo-Iweala is a Nigerian who deserves respect . I am proud to cite her to my daughters , anyday , as a role model. She has served her Country well as a Minister. The tag of "housewife" is disrespectful and so is the comparison to Lewinsky. One really has to wonder why you BB fans are never moderate in views or utterances. You always have to be at the extreme end of everything . You don't need to crassly and disrespectfully thrash Okonjo-Iweala to defend Buhari's choice.
Very true what you said, but sometimes the human nature of emotions sets in, look at what the OP wrote in the topic "Racist and Chauvinist" These are words that cannot be substantiated and even lack relevance to what we are talking about.

I hope ACN dont prevent people from making it to the rally.

Let them use National stadium and lets how corwded the place will be. I hope GEJ doesnt collapse seeing all these pictures.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Rejected Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala As Running Mate by Lagosboy: 11:58am On Mar 30, 2011
Seun:
There are two troubling things I learned about Buhari/Bakare from the following story, told by Bakare:https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-633717.0.html
http://www.facebook.com/notes/cee-won/casting-demons-out-of-bakare-by-dimgba-igwe-of-daily-sun/200852143269405

My two areas of concern are:

1)  Buhari was presented with a running mate who was better in every way: an experienced economist, former finance minister who convinced western countries to forgive Nigeria's debt, former world bank VP, and not corrupt.  As an Igbo woman, she would appeal to southerners and progressives, and with Obasanjo's support, they could win the South-West.  But Buhari preferred a pastor of a small church as running mate, even though the pastor wasn't complaining.  Is this good judgment? Or was the man just put off by the idea of running with an Igbo woman?

2)  Bakare was indirectly given the option of resigning to make way for a better vice-presidential candidate, and he didn't take it.  He agreed that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was a better candidate, but he wouldn't step down unless asked to.  Why was that?  Its troubling.
Buhari is not a feeble minded person, Buhari is not silly, Buhari knew about Iweala before he chose Bakare. How can you tell a our future president to change his mind at the last minute, whioch makes him an indecisive leader, a leader who doesnt have the ability to make the right choice.

OBJ would have never supported a Buhari presidency and it was a dummy OBJ sold to Buhari and I extremely elated Buhari did not fall for it. This is a principled man who is not an opportunist. You see everyday i continue to admire this man called Buhari, he will not bend to become president.

What does IBB stand to gain from a Buhari presidency, How many votes can OBJ deliver to Buhari. OBJ lost his ward in front of his house in Ite Eko in Abeokuta and the result was cancelled and never announced. Tell me how many votes IBB can delievr when he could not even convince his northern leaders to make him a consus candidate.

Can Iweala not participate in governance without being a VP, can she not be a minister? Why did OBJ not make her GEJs VP if he loved her so much , yeye man

Buhari is our man , May God bless his efforts and become our president in 2011.

Ribadu is finished if he loses this election , there is no integrity in him again. All his anti corruption jargon cant be said again.

I hope Gbawe understands this, we dont hate Ribadu as a person but his inconsistency is just too glaring and everyday he shows us new ones.
PoliticsRe: South West: Between Ribadu And Buhari by Lagosboy(op): 10:15am On Mar 30, 2011
“[b]While corruption and indiscipline have been associated with our state of under-development, these two evils in our body politic have attained unprecedented height in the past few years”, “This government will not tolerate kick-backs, inflation of contracts and over-invoicing of imports etc. Nor will it condone forgery, fraud, embezzlement, misuse and abuse of office and illegal dealings in foreign exchange and smuggling”. (General Buhari’s Speech in 1984).

"If you perform well, you get a hand shake. If you perform badly, you get a handcuff"(Gen. Buhari to PTF contractors).

“Looters must vomit their loot. Whoever dare loot public fund under CPC government will be made to vomit the loot. Public fund is a trust and CPC government will do everything possible to protect the people’s trust”. (Buhari’s Campaign Speech, March 2011).

Till date, corruption remains our greatest obstacle to development and progress. The World Bank estimates that Nigeria has lost over $300 billion dollars thru corruption. Buhari remains the only Nigerian leader alive, who fought corruption effectively during his brief tenure as a head of state. He will do it again if elected.

Buhari has promised to facilitate the removal of immunity clauses from our constitution. With the removal of immunity clauses, The President, Vice Presidents, Governors, Deputy Governors etc can be prosecuted for civil or criminal offences. Buhari also promised to initiate action(s) towards constitutional amendments, with a view to ensure true federalism. For detailed manifesto/plan of action, Please visit website www.buhari4change.com. Vote Buhari/Bakare For Presidential Election, Vote CPC Party.

Buhari is a man of his words. See testimonies below.

“Muhammadu Buhari as a member of the Supreme Military Council and as the head of the petroleum dept was by nature taciturn and introvert. But he took any work given to him very seriously and if he failed at whatever he did, it would not be because he did not put his best, in fact, his very best. He was as reliable as he was hard working and honest” (Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo in his book, Not My Will, University Press Ltd, Ibadan, 1990, Pg 59).

“I respect Buhari. He was my Boss. He was an honourable man. And I can say this anywhere” (General Ibrahim Babagida, Ex Military Head of State).

“Murtala and Buhari are great leaders” (Nuhu Ribadu, Action Congress of Nigeria Presidential Candidate, Daily Trust 27th Feb. 2007).

“Buhari is a forthright and very clearly a disciplined man. He has managed to cut the image of a person who abhors corruption genuinely. If Buhari does not want to make a promise, he is the kind of person that will say so. Buhari is likely to pay attention to the problems of the country, unlike Obasanjo who floats in the air and most of the time plays to the gallery ” (Vanguard Editorial. 23rd January 2003).

“Buhari has three qualities namely INTERGRITY, which even his worst enemies
can't fault; he is CONSISTENT, he does not say one thing in the morning and
another at night, and he is COMMITTED to implementing the restructuring of the
country. Anyone with these qualities deserves the support of Nigerians”.
(Chief Olu Falae, This Day Newspaper, 23rd March 2007).

“Of all the candidates, Buhari is most frequently associated with integrity, leadership, accountability, honesty and transparency. Nigerians are more skeptical about these qualities in Atiku and Yar'adua” (Opinion Analysis. State Department, Washington March 19th 2007).

I honestly think it is not in the best interest of the progressives to wash dirty linens in public.
I can bring out Ribadu's fault in public, so can I do for Buhari, but I will not hit Ribadu in the public because of Buhari.
Whether we like it or not, we need them to dislodge PDP.
Brother, this would have been true if the alliance worked out. The alliance collapsed and right now in the game of politics , the killer instinct has to be active. Buhari cannot win this election without votes from the SW, the main stumbling block is Ribadu and the truth about Ribadu has to be highlighted. Tinubu used the killer inisinct by calling Buhari expired leaders while in Kano, Joe Igbokwe or was it Lai Mohammed said Buhari scuttled the alliance because of his rigidity.

Right now it has to be a startegy to win at first ballot, if that fails there is no harm in the "progressives" supporting each other again. Camron and Clegg attacked themselves but are working together togday because of a run off, Same goes to Hilary and Barak. When push comes to shove in the game of politics mr nice doesnt exist again as one is not pedalling falshood or dirty politicking.

PoliticsRe: South West: Between Ribadu And Buhari by Lagosboy(op): 9:10pm On Mar 29, 2011
In the event of a run off the oppostion dont have a choice except to come together to kick out PDP. However at this stage n politics you have to try to win it hence the killer instinct in everyone. Tinubu called Buhari expired leadership in the heart of Kano while he wanted to be his vice.

This is politics and if need be ACN has no choice except toghethern with CPC to kick out the common enemy.

If you notice the General has never criticised the ACN nor Ribadu and that is the quality of a statesman.

Pataki:
We are both simply just putting blames at eachother's doorstep. While I am ready to accept that Bakare can be quite confrontational with his words attimes and needs to exercise extreme caution with his words, you are more than ready to paint a Ribadu who is better than any angel of peace we have never seen!

In all sincerity Gbawe, as well educated and intelligent as you are, do you really think Ribadu is a man of his words?
This has been my point all day long, i am against this hypocricy, Bakare is a pastor he says things as he sees it, he is new in politics and will make mistakes. However, Ribadu is the one i am dissapopinted in and let us look at this in another way. Ribadu loses this election , could you tell me what credibility he will have to talkabout corruption again as an opposition leader. How can he ever condemn IBB again and anyone will take him serious, how can he attack others when the ACN in Rivers is in the hands of Odii whom Ribadu tried to prosecute, how can he sing corruption again when Benue state ACN is in the hands of Akume.

Gbawe i tied to explain tings on the other thread about all these "progressives" they are notwhat you think. You look at them from afar  thinkin they are saints but the deal they cut behind closed door is just plain disgusting
PoliticsRe: South West: Between Ribadu And Buhari by Lagosboy(op): 6:43pm On Mar 29, 2011
Also, I remember Ribadu arresting Muhammed Babangida in connection with corruoption and looted funds. Ribadu said then Muhammed had no visible work and wondered how he managed to have 20% shares in globacom. I want another debate and Ribadu is asked about if IBB is corrupt.

Pataki:
The writer just expressed my mind and opinion there. For this reason alone, I do not support that man Ribadu.

His inconsistency and penchant for rubbing hands with dubious minded people over and over again makes him highly unworthy for the position of Presidency. Not to even think of his sheer arrogance and disregard for the rule of law attimes. An example to such was during the NN24 debate.

Rubbish.
This has been my grudge as well, you cannot be double speaking everytime and playing to the gallery. It is the characteristic of an unprinicpled man IMO, ACN ran away from Edo state because of IBB, ACN goes to visit IBB in his den 5 months later. Consistent pattern of inconsistency is a sign for the wise to see!
