rosey11:
I have 2 uncles that married foreign women. Their marriages both ended in divorce just after a few years. Now they have both settled for Nigerian women and have been happily married for over 30years. FYI You can't dominate foreign women like you do nigerian women. They have a mind of their own. If you wanna marry a foreigner, it's a free world. But don't do it just because other people are.
You did not tell us where those 30yrs were spent? In Nigeria or Abroad?

That is the key!.

In Nigeria, most Nigerian women behave themselves and wont go too far and the "enabling structures" to misbehave is not that pronounce, compared to Abroad where it is considered virtuous to scatter your marriage in the name of "independence" since the state will pay you some regular money while the unfortunate man who will be tasked to death, with threat of jail at times, is turned to a perpetual ATM.

When you say "dominate" Nigerian women, the thing is How does a man dominate his wife?
The idea of marriage, in man and all other living things (animals, plants, e.t.c) already dictates that one party is the dominant partner.
Even Gay marriages still recognizes that one of the "same sex" is the dominant partner who says "I wed thee". Both dont say that word to each other or do they?
Thus, it is not 'dominance'......... but a 'natural arrangement' of the sexes which ensures the survival of the union.

Just like a positive pole will only attract a negative pole and vice-versa, are we to then infer that the positive pole is "dominating" the negative pole or agree that that is just the way it has to be, if we want both poles to unite together?

We actually need to learn from animals like Lions and Monkeys which are closer to humans on the food chain.

where this "natural arrangement" is violated, of course, chaos follows and the union can no longer hold.

shocked That is a really disgusting and ignorant thing to think about a group of people.

You have zero right to speak of women in such manner. If you Nigerian men didn't have such fragile little egos you would sit back and allow women to be the breadwinners. But you don't. You frown at a woman who is more successful than you in life, then have the audacity to complain.

Unintelligent with low IQs ? Do you realize how ignorant you sound. You should be absolutely disgusted with yourself.
This is part of the problem!
Nigerian men are not wired (culturally and mentally) to "sit back and allow their wife to be the bread winner and control their life".
From birth a Nigerian Mother drums it into his son's head that he has to work hard and be "the head and bread winner" for his family.

How then do you expect that man to get married and change overnight simply because he now lives in an environment where women are "empowered" to throw their husband out at the slightest argument and then go on using him as an ATM for the rest for their life?

See, it wont work-out, it will never work-out.

This issue is deeper than one you can attend to satisfactorily, with just a few line of post.
It is not just in Europe alone, IT IS EVERYWHERE IN THE DIASPORA!
They have "adopted and standardised" the life style of "Single Woman" collecting Child benefits and Child support!
Its all about GREED and the MONEY!
undecided

A Church leader once asked at a Church gathering: Where are the men ? Where are the husbands of all the women and kids in my church?
Apparently, he has a large congregation with only less that five men, whereas his congregation has close to hundred women with children!
grin grin

But for summary: It is just not Nigerian women, Nigerians in general have this toga of 'arrogance and swag' which is not such a bad thing
The problem is that our Nigerian women, cant manage the power which Western democracies have conferred on their own "native white women" who over generations have been able to manage such enormous powers, to some extent. They think it is meant to be abused, to harass their husband and to be used to destroy the home

When our Nigerian women are exposed to such powers, their "innate arrogance and vengeful spirit" kicks-in, goes into overdrive and over time, majority of Nigerian men (especially the Youths who are just entering "marriageable age" who themselves, have seen a lot of this happening as they grew-up!) have come to realise that in 95% of the cases, marrying a Nigerian woman when both of you would live abroad, is a RECIPE FOR MARITAL DISASTER...and no disaster could be worse than that, as it attracts other disasters!

We dont even need to start cataloging their shenanigans and abuse of power..... it is just too numerous and too common to mention.

Ofcourse, there are the wonderful women, very rare cases in the range of 5% and they must be celebrated.

Again, guys are getting "smarter" by the day now. Cunny-man die, Cunny-man bury am. undecided undecided

Well it's bad move using foreign reserve to defend naira. We have been doing that for a long time now and we just keep going down. Our demand for dollar is what's causing this fall. If we depend less on dollar our currency will improve. Common sense 101
Abeg, stop yarning Opata!

How can you not demand for dollar when all you guys do is rush to China to import sub-standard goods?
Are those goods bought with Naira ....or Dollars?

As long as we are an "import dependent, mono-income economy" we will always demand for the Dollar.
The other option is to increase our own level of manufacturing so that we have goods we can export, so that we also earn such Dollars.
Even more important is to PRAY that God never allow us to make the mistake a second time, of having a clueless President without shoes whose only pastime is lavish wastage of our Foreign Reserve!

Import Less, Export more "refined goods" as against raw materials like Crude oil, be financially prudent and jail looters => Vibrant economy.

Soo our president had to land in US before he could communicate his governance direction to Nigeria people. Nigerians voted for u not USA . Maybe the tension we have right now in d stock market wudnt have been. Maybe there wouldn't have been a free fall for our naira if this communication has been made to Nigeria citizens.

You just confirmed one thing to me presido, u tremble b4 USA and daz a very bad demeanour for a head of a state. Usound like your giving Obama your score card and pleading or trembling rather for help as if we are finished. Daz a very bad signal coming from a president.

Much as I like atleast the direction your going now by your speech I wud implore you present yoursef like a siting president of the most populous black nation. Thank u.
People like you are NEVER SATISFIED!

Smart people chose their "moments" to say important things.

The President knew he will be meeting those who can "ADD VALUE to his INTENTIONS"..... not #WailingWailers like you who dont add any value.

Thus, if he had to make a policy speech, he has to direct it to "those who matter".
Sorry but plebs like you, who criticize out of hatred, who never see anything good in others, DONT MATTER AT ALL!

The free-fall of the Naira has to do with our Foreign Reserve, which is the most important thing that gives strength to a country's currency, aside other factors like export, imposts, e.t.c. ............... and that Foreign reserve was destroyed, looted and stolen by your Hero, JONATHAN!
He was busy distributing Foreign Currency to every militant, Traditional chief, Thug, Musician, e.t.c, just so he can win the Presidential elections.
So, What do you expect?

I understand Nigeria is a very vast country with porous borders and there are places for Boko haram to easily hide.
I also understand that with the use of DRONES, Nigeria can follow these Terrorists as they move around, gather intelligence on them without their knowledge, knock them out, e.t.c .....but the problem is that we dont have Drones!

So, it is not a bad idea if Buhari makes a strong speech in front of the President whose citizens and military have that equipment that we need.
Pride goes before a fall, you know!

So, go phuck yourself and let this President be, pleaze. YOU DONT COUNT, not one bit.

As for Obama, until l see one of his daughters married to another woman, as a confirmed Lesbian, he should keep his support for perversion (homosexuality) to himself. Chikenna.

Why would l not be happy, when my President says this, on a world stage?

President Buhari: While we work to defeat the terrorists, I ask the people of Nigeria and the world for resolve and fortitude. The campaign we will wage will not be easy; it may not be swift. We should expect stages of success and also moments when it may appear that our advances have been checked. But no one should have any doubt as to the strength of our collective will or my commitment to rid this nation of terror and bring back peace and normalcy to all affected areas.

Similarly, my determination should not be underestimated in other matters. This includes instilling good governance and tackling the scourge of corruption that has held Nigeria back for too long.

The NPA said it found with the suspects, an invoice for a helicopter and armaments meant for Nigeria.
While the furore created by the cash seizure was yet to settle, South African authorities again seized another $5.7 million transferred by Societe D’Equipments Internationale of Nigeria, to South African arms company, Cerberus Risk Solutions, for the procurement of arms.

Firefire, isn't it curious also that even when another tranche of funds was transferred following " the rule of law & international best practices" in the bid to procure arms, the SA government also seized it under another pretext? Can you rationalize this?
I bet you did not read the full gist when it occurred?
Every foreign arms supplier is LICENSED to operate.
Dasuki and his cohorts paid money into the bank account of a company (Cerberus Risk Solutions ) whose license to export arms has expired and is yet to be renewed!
Hence the money was "frozen".

Thank God.

The action of the past administration in this matter is purely against the Anti-Money Laundering / combating the financing of terrorism regulations of CBN. AML/CFT REGULATION (2009).

How would an organized and sovereign nation stack money in suitcases?

“President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was forced to resort to the alternative market to obtain arms when western powers blocked every access to the formal arms market but the cash were seized both at the airport and in the bank”.

I understand the predicament of the then government in procuring arms, this does not warrant this approach of moving ‘raw-cash’ across countries.

We must learn from this and move forward as a nation.

South African Govt: The South African Government has returned $9.3m seized from the Nigerian government, over the failed yet controversial arms deal

Per Second News can confirm.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) seized the funds at Lanseria airport, northwest of Johannesburg, on Sept. 5, 2014. The funds held at the SA central bank was finally released to the Nigerian government.

Per Second News gathered from a top security source Tuesday that the money may have finally been paid into one of the numerous government's accounts operated by the former National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

Our correspondent gathered that the money was quietly returned to the former NSA before he handed over the mantle of leadership as the NSA, retired Major General Babagana Monguno, on Tuesday afternoon.

The seizure of the $9.3 million drew heavy controversies that had exacerbated tensions between the two countries with counter accusations from both Nigeria and the South African governments.

Relations between Nigeria and South Africa have not been at their best, particularly between the Zuma and Jonathan administrations.

According to a South African Presidency source “By returning this money you get friendship, loyalty and an opportunity where President Buhari is willing to work with us to lead the continent and speak with one voice.”

“Instead of Nigeria second-guessing us all the time, we will compare notes and stop fighting for things like the United Nations Security Council seat that’s not even permanent,” the source said.

“Nigeria is a strategic country that South Africa cannot ignore. It’s a big market. It’s possible South African companies make more money in Nigeria than in South Africa.”

It is believed that South Africa also returned another $5.7 million seized from Nigeria, money which was purportedly to buy arms including 50 M-75 cannons and 200,000 rounds of ammunition. Per Second News learnt that former vice president Atiku Abubakar, using his closeness to South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma settled the rift.

Read it here: http://www.persecondnews.com/index.php/psn-news/item/4048-south-africa-returns-nigeria-s-seized-9-3-million
Add that $40,000 recovered from former NSA Dasuki's bedroom to it, that is the interest they paid on the money!

Buhari has more daunting challenges than chasing opponents. It is a common knowledge that most Hausa/Fulani men keep money in cash. $40,000 (less than 10million Naira) is not up to what some traders or supermarket makes in a day. A service station can make this amount in a couple of hours. For God's sake we are talking of $0.04million. This can not fund a good shopping trip. Everybody is not a pauper. The amount in view can not buy Aisha's wrist watch.

The action of DSS is pure witch-hunt. Smell the coffee. Sambo's sin is that he was very prominent in the overthrow of Buhari's regime in 1985 and he was hard on boko boys as NSA.

If PMB wants to fight corruption he should go for the big fishes from whom we can recover substantial amount of money. Besides PMB should get busy with delivering dividends of democracy and fulfilling his campaign promises and leave petty issues of trying to get even with perceived opponents.
