Sirchiboy: When it comes to settling down for a job, you are the only one that can help yourself. You know yourself better than anyone of us. Moment of reflection: * what value can you offer? * what is that HND degree in? * what are your grades? (Yes, it matters in Nigeria if you need a job) * are you confident in yourself? * if you were to own a company would your hire someone exactly like your current self? * how competent are you? * what problem solving skills do you have that people are willing to pay for? * what experience do you have? If your answers to the questions about doesn't leave you with some 'pride', then you have a lot of personal improvement to do, and no right to complain about the salary. Na wetin you deserve for now be that. This is what our poor education system has afforded us. In my first semester abroad, I realized most of my Naija maths lecturers did not have good content knowledge, all na cram and pour. That is why GRE and other standardized exams appear to be hellish. If you did proper mathematics you would know that 0/0 is INDETERMINATE. Then you would save your ink and rest. That is the worst visa you want to come to the US with if you intend to stay back. After 6 months, you are illegal. You cannot get a social security number. Once that is missing, you hardly can do anythjng meaningful until your status is restored. You could be lucky to find a citizen who is willing to help, if not, African-Americans go show you shege and subject you to all forms of ignominy. For the next 2 years sef your life never arrange talkless of building mansion. I guess this kind of fables was what I was trying to avoid when I put in the hardwork and moved here for grad studies. Let me respond as a professional mathematician: First, you need to know that multiplication means repeated addition. What do I mean? 3 x 4 = 3 times 4 or 4 times 3 (commutativity property) = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 (or 4 + 4 + 4 ) = 12 If you have 10 x 0, then it means zero is added in 10 places: 0+0+0+0+0+0+0+0+0+0 =0 By the commutative property, you could say 10 in no place at all I hope this helps. |

E easy to advise people from outside the country. We know it is easier to start up a business in Nigeria, but do you know that when the system is messed up individual potential dies? You need Electricity to run any venture, good roads to be accessible by your market and fluid transport for delivery. Why do you think home deliveries is the order of the day in naija? Righteousness2: It is high time you tamed this desperate urge, of yours, to always read to reply, instead of to read to understand. He said, "if you want to and have the opportunity to do so". Moreso, he didn't say to burn the bridge, he gave an option to come back. To build a CV and career abroad is not by illegal means. Whether your 'holier than thou spirit' has revealed this to you or not is not our concern, but the fact remains that international exposure doesn't hurt so much. You can't count 10 top CEOs and MDs in Nigeria who didn't have an international exposure. Don't ONLY stick to the Bible alone, read other books too.
