donbabe2000:Going for a Program you have no Prior Academic background (Academic Progression) or Work Experience (career Progression) in might not sound convincing to a Visa officer (wrong purpose of visit) and that might lead to a red flag on your Study Visa Application. Charley97:Yes your agent is right, admission with a 2.2 to a Canadian university is slim, cos the minimum requirements of Canadian Universities for Masters is a 2.1 and a strong GPA in your Last two years in the University i.e 400L & 500L (if your undergraduate degree is a 5 years program or 300L & 400L if your undergraduate degree is a 4 years program). Your best shot is a POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE (PG.CERT) or a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in a COMPUTER SCIENCE related program at a college That being said, what branch/area of Computer Science are you interested in e.g Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, IT business Analysis, Business Analytics, Mobile Application Development, Web Development, Software Development etc. ? |

Your best shot with a 2.2 is a Post Graduate Certificate at a College in Canada See the link below for Mechanical Engineering related PG Cert Programs and Colleges offering it https://www.nairaland.com/6719291/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/53#105397686 |

mastercook:You are welcome. Oh I see, you didn't talk about being a PR in your initial post, i actually thought you are going as an international student (study permit). That's a good one for you, at least you gonna pay your tuition as a domestic student. Due to the kind of program Software Development is, a PG.Cert might likely not suffice for you cos for the admission requirement, they will require you to have a previous education or work/technical experience related to Software Development or any other branches of Computer Science. A Diploma in Software development at a college should suffice for you since you are landing as a PR and looks like you are considering a career switch. Unfortunately I don't know of any college offering Software Development at Diploma level You can try your luck on something, be on a look out for PG.Cert in Software development, you might be lucky to get admission there. To improve your chances to get the admission, do some Online short courses (free or paid) on Software Development/Software Engineering, add it to your Canadian Style Résumé and apply for a PG.Cert in Software development program at a college, you might get the admission by doing that. Google and check out the following programs PG. Cert, Enterprise Software Development Humber College, Ontario PG. Cert, Software Quality Assurance and Test Engineering Conestoga College, Ontario PG. Cert, Software And Information Systems Testing Fanshawe College, Ontario PG. Cert, Computer Software & Database Development Lambton College, Ontario Await additional suggestions from the house, also visit the LIVING IN CANADA thread and make some enquiries, you might get a based on experience information from there. Good luck!!!! |

Kidsister13:Have tried sending mails and webforms to IRCC OFFICES? Have you reached out to a Member of Parliament (MP) of the town and province your school is located? |
Keren12:You have a slim chance with a 2.2 for a Masters Admission, cos the minimum requirement of most Canadian university for Masters is a 2.1. Your best shot is a PG. Cert at a College in a Program related to your undergraduate degree (if no long study gap) or your work experience |
Chocs:Yes you are right but in order to avoid confusion most especially for a refused applicant and a first time applicant (new bee), the structuring and contents of an LOE to tackle a refusal is quite different from an SOP of a first time applicant. A first time applicant might see an LOE sample meant to address a refusal and use it thereby making some errors Check this out https://www.nairaland.com/6719291/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/375#106812997 |

Cert, Alternative Dispute Resolution Humber College, Ontario Await a response from someone who might know a PG program related to POLITICAL SCIENCE that you can do at a college in British Columbia |
mastercook:1) You getting the admission is 50/50 cos the admission requirement for a PG. in Software development would require a graduate of Computer Science, Software Engineering and related field or someone who has work experience in Software Development. 2) A PG program not related to your Academic background or Work Experience is still a wrong Academic & Career Progression, cos a Visa Officer won't see a connection with your previous education and work experience in relation to Software Development, and that could raise a red flag on your Visa Application. Based on your good CGPA, a Visa Officer will expect you to go for a Masters in a Biological science related field e.g research focus Biological Science Masters Program like Computational Biology, Biomedical Science, Cancer & Immunology etc. Await additional response from the gurus and other members |

Gideonmi:In your best interest, ignore that Admission cos Canadian Career Education College don't offer PGWP (Post Graduate Work Permit) eligible programs and that's not good for you if you intend staying in Canada after your studies as an international student There are lots of disadvantages applying to a DLI that doesn't offer PGWP eligible programs. In your best interest, apply to a DLI (school) that offers PGWP eligible programs Based on your Academic background and how it aligns with your work experience, apply to a Business/Financial related POST GRADUATE Certificate (PG.CERT) Program at a College (a college that offers PGWP.... Very Important) Explore the programs and school below and go for the one the suites you PG.
