Jeffersonagain:....or, simply put they are not in the same categories. Dasuki & Sowore were granted bail not once, but multiple times by competent courts and the Federal Government had been holding them in disregard to those bail orders and they have now decided to comply with those court orders because additional external pressure on them to obey their own court orders. El-Zakzaky was only granted bail to go on medical treatment, which he went for but decided to cut it short and come back to the country. Is there any court order you know of about bail on his case, that the State Government is disregarding? |
stormborn28:I truly hope you are right for her sake. She needs healing, and shouldn’t be put through any trauma or anything that will remind her of that horrible incident. |
A 58 year old woman, who stop mensurating since 2006, as in about 13 years ago; gave ‘birth’ to a bouncing baby boy and 9jas are praising God, calling it a miracle. Don’t get me wrong, am a Christian who believes in miracles and also praises God for the things He has done, but on this occasion DNA test are in order. |
They have put the victim in more problems now. Trust 9ja police, they will invite her to write statement and lock her up until she can produce and point to the ‘thugs’ she called to ‘teach’ the rapist a lesson. Later later, they will at the minimum charge her to court as accessory to murder or even for murder self....more like triple wahala for her...victim of theft, rape and getting locked up/going to prison. |
AK481:If this were entirely true; the quality of graduates that Universities are churning out would have also improved. Comparing apples with apples; I don’t think first class graduates these days can hold up to first class graduates of those days. Also compare second class upper graduates of today to second class upper of those days, you will conclude that we have a problem with quality today, despite the increase in quantity compare to days of old. |
yarimo:This is like congratulating the whites for ending slave trade! We should give commendation only to those deserving of it. |
The security knows more than he is saying.... No female will tell a stranger they want to go buy sanitary pad! It’s too private. |
I support her, at least she did tell us cock and bull stories like the others, that God called her! We all know that, the grass is greener on the religious side, tithe & offering is a sure thing every week....and maga go pay! |
ColonelEmeka:I did not say, you did not read it, I said to re-read it, which means I conceded that you read it. You are giving it your own opinion and interpretation, stay within the context of the case and the order...This is from your own post, read the bolden.. "...Judges on the Investigatory Powers Tribunal declared in a majority decision that MI5 has the power to permit informants to operate in criminal groups, even if the policy itself confers no legal immunity. The case focused on powers that were only disclosed last year by then-Prime Minister Theresa May..." There is clearly stated it is for informants operating within criminal groups....criminal groups are called gangs and if informants are operating inside criminal groups, they are called infiltrators, as-in they infiltrate the criminal group. MI5 also agreed, it is only for covert operations...and I quote: "...A Home Office spokesman said: 'The use of covert agents is an essential tool for MI5 as it carries out its job of keeping the country safe. 'We are pleased that the Tribunal found in the Government's favour on all counts and recognised that participating in crime can be a necessary feature of this vital work." Lord Justice Singh, one of the three Judges who rule in favor of MI5 states and I quote... "Lord Justice Singh said that preventing MI5 from embedding an informant in a proscribed terrorist organisation because they would be committing a criminal offence 'would strike at the core activities of the Security Service'. The judge said it was 'essential to run an agent in a proscribed organisation ... for the gathering of intelligence, but also for disrupting the activities of such organisations'." As you can see, it is only authorized for confidential Informant Agents embedded within criminal gangs....There is no where it say, it can be used outside a criminal gang, that is your own opinion which is clearly wrong, MI5 did not even argue that. |
ColonelEmeka:Click the link and re-read against. Go beyond the headline which is sensational and a clickbait. The ruling states, this is for agents in covert operations, that if agent from MI5 is embedded as an infiltrator inside a gang, this ruling states they can act along and carry out the criminal activities of the gang, so that their cover cannot be blown. To expect otherwise is ludicrous and puts the undercover agents lives in harms way. And this is the practice worldwide and not in anyway a license to kill or to usurp the rights of brits to due process. |
AmuDimpka:Try to at least, understand the main point of a discussion before offering your opinion. No one is arguing about ‘hostel that pay such...’ the point is equating an investment idea to philanthropism. He is free to charge whatever monies he desire, it is his building, his project, his investment....but don’t call it philanthropic unless you don’t know the meaning of the word. |
Victorex001:Until reading the details, the first impression was that, he built it and hand it over to the University. But, this is not the case; the building is his investment and he will rent out to students at N300k each year. N60million per year to power generator? Sorry my bad. |
Tembebe:Third paragraph from the bottom states, it will rented out to students at N300k per room with 2 students max per room.....further up states the number of rooms. |
referandum:Agreed, but I don’t see the philanthropism here; he is renting each room out for 300k/annual for more than 200 rooms, that more than N60million-year. |
JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:Business insider.... https://www.businessinsider.com/9-charts-comparing-trump-economy-to-obama-bush-administrations-2019-9
|
Asaba get International Airport? Even on papers, am just reading about it for the first time! |
JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:Bros, which bills are you talking about, can you be specific? On average GDP growth are now about 2.1%, they average around 4% during Obama years and even went as far as 6%. No trade deal has been sign into law or in effect and the House has been negotiating behind close doors to put labor protective conditions into the deal that were left out on purpose eg paying living wages to workers, better working conditions, no sweat shops, more manufacturing in US, etc and they hope to approve it before the end of the year. Don’t go with the hypes that are been speakout by Fox News or even Trump himself, if the guy’s mouth is moving, he is lying; do your own research otherwise, you will look like the fool in the public, because you will come empty handed with proves to support his public hyperboles. |

Can send a me link where President Zelensky said ‘nothing of such happened’ as in article one, which states Trump abused his power by withholding aid? I hope you are going to provide something more concrete than the ‘no pressure’ statement? Meanwhile, read the more recent interview that Zelensky gave to Times Magazine, where directly alleged that aid were blocked.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-ukraine-president-zelensky-aid-quid-pro-quo-russia-impeachment-a9229466.html%3famp Also, why lock up documents and refused to produce before Congress, documents that he say will prove his innocent? Why block people from testifying, these are fact witnessing that will prove your innocence? Article 2 indictment is a no brained; Congress is an equal branch of government and he obstructed congress by blocking the release of requested documents and blocking fact witnesses from testifying. |
bezimo:Did you read the indictments? Can you name a single policy passed into law by the President that is aiding the job growth? |
He clearly does not understand impeachment as defined in English language and in the US constitution. The US Senate cannot quench or stop and impeachment, impeachment starts and ends in the House. After that, if the House chooses; they can refer the article of impeachment to the Senate; the House can decided to either send or not to send it to the Senate; whether it is sent or not or if their is trial in the Senate or not; the President stand impeached! The trial that takes place in the Senate is totally different, if the Senate convict him he will then be removed from office, if the Senate does not, he still remain an impeached President. Impeachment is just an official Indictment of an offense. The Nigeria constitution have it wrong as the removal from office. |
4w4eva:Impeachment does not strip a US President off his immunity, just like the OP stated it just an official indictment of an offense. The impeachment process in the House and the trial (If the House referee the article of impeachment to the Senate) in the Senate are all political processes and not criminal. If a US President is convicted in the Senate or is no longer in office, only then do they lose their immunity. Even if a US President is convicted & removed from office by the Senate, he can only be tried if the Senate refer the indictments to DOJ and DOJ can decide not to even prosecute. |
fineguy11:Which of my statements are wrong? |
Zuorom:If you question is serious, you will know that, it is not possible to prove a negative! If his impeachment was not a big deal, he wouldn't have gone a great length to prevent discovery, hide documents; order people not to testify...also try to read Trump six page rant letter to Polosi yesterday, you will see how the impeachment have rattled him. Now others get to insult him as an impeached President, the same way he insulted Clinton. |
Zuorom:It is indelible, Trump never wanted to be impeached and he previously has insulted Bill Clinton for having been impeached, now he get to join the line of US impeached Presidents. Clinton went on to do good things world-wide, Trump is not loved worldwide, because he try to bully everyone, so this one more negative reputation on his records; moreso Clinton was impeached during his second term. Trump will be the First President to face the voters (as he will do in 2020) after having been impeached. |
BigTosine:He has been impeached, only the House has the power to impeach and he has entered the History books as the 3rd US President to be impeachment. You are making the mistaking of equating the Senate tried as an impeachment process. The Impeachment started and ended in the House, what will take place in the Senate is a trial to either acquit or convict him and he will be acquitted, but his acquit will not change any single fact that, he has been impeached....so the impeachment will stand forever, it is legal and final. |
Fiyin007:There are actually only 45 Democrats in the Senate, the 2 Independents caucus with the Democrats. Going into this, Everyone know that, the Senate will never convict him, no America President has been convicted in the Senate, because the threshold is high there as you indicated 2/3rd. But, If any of the Republicans cross the aisle and vote to convict Trump in the Senate, that will take the wind off the Republican's sail that this is a partisan hit-job and it appear that one of two Senators in tight races, who might likely loose their seat in 2020 might vote to convict...All eyes is also on Mitt, if he will flip also. |
njelrapheal:You only need simple majority to impeach a US President. |
byrron:Congressional districts does not affect the electoral college votes. The congressional districts you are talking about only affect votes to representation on the US House of congress. All the US States award all their electoral college votes to the person that won the popular vote, except Nebraska and Maine who split their combined 9 electoral votes to districts and some to the overall winner of the popular vote. Only about 80,000 votes gave Trump Presidency in 2016 and these were in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which he won by 0.2%, 0.7% and 0.8%; so these are very very tinny victory and since winning, he have gone far right, but he will very likely return to the center as the election draw near and many Democrats did not vote in 2016 because they felt that Hillary was favored against Sanders. Yes, Trump is favored to win re-election, but even the Republicans know, the election is not in the bags, consistent polls have shown that Biden will win against Trump if nominated, hence Trump's team have started digging up dirts against Biden despite the fact that he has not yet won the nomination. |
snowblaq:My guess is, your question is rhetorical or it is one of those trick questions put to Jesus to trick him, in that whichever way he answered He will fall... I gave you a direct Bible quote from 1 Sam 2:22-25 where Eli rebuked his sons, you can combine that passage with 1 Sam 3:13 and come up with your own interpretation, both passages are words of God. One way to interpret both passages so, they are consistent is to state that in 1 Sam 3:13, the true rendition is: "Eli did not succeed in restraining his sons...Remember that, the Bible was not originally written in English and like every translational work, verbs, tense, etc get lost in between translations....The complete word of God is inspired and without error, but you have to take the totality of the word of God and not pieces here and there. |
snowblaq:The story did not start from chapter 3.... 1 Sam 2:22 - 25 "..Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD'S people to transgress. If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them." So Eli rebuked them, but they were predestination to be slayed. |
echelons:It depend on how far back one wants to go as far as the party who do well well in midterms. My reference to midterms were relative to turnouts, as GOP tend to do better when turns are low and midterms and off-cycle elections are low turnout elections. Agreed, the Democrats have to defend more seat in Red districts that Trump won, but if you combined that with the districts that GOP have to now give up because of the gerrymandering, I think the Democrats will still keep the House in 2020. The Senate are highly favored to keep the Senate in 2020, only about 4 GOP Senators are in competitive races. For the Presidency, Trump is still favored to win, that is because of the power of the incumbency and the fact that the economy is doing well. The US economy is cyclical, which means years of uptrend are immediately followed by years of downtrend...The current uptrend started with the Obama bailouts, but no one knows when they will end. So, Predicting the POTU election outcome now will be challenging, but the Democrats will help their chances, if Biden or Pete is nominated, Warren will be a drag on their hopes. I think both parties are jittery, Trump truly wanted to get dirty on Biden from a foreign government; agreed he did not get it, until he was caught, but if he thinks the elections are in the bags, he wouldn't be doing that. |
