What if the couple know they're not compatible and both decide to still get married? Has the church/mosque/court registry got a right to deny them of that right? That is discrimination IMO if they're denied the right to marry.

The way church marriage is practiced in Nigeria, it is privilege and not a right.

The churches already have a laundry list of things they can use to turn intending couples away; including not paying your tithe, wrong hairdo, wrong gown, wrong shoes, wrong makeup, visiting the other-room before church wedding, even if done after traditional wedding, having a partner from another denomination, etc.

Some churches already makes it compulsory to under take genotype tests today and do counsel or deny marriages base on the results...I know deeper life have been doing that for decades now.

I get your sediment, but the article clearly stated that she is a Green Card holder and therefore not a US citizen.

Very bad advice.

As a tenant non of the landlords own them any notice of explanation, they don’t have any rights in the transaction.

However, they are now the tenants of the new landlord and still protected under the rental laws, but if they with held rent, that is a cause for eviction and can see themselves fight a lost court battle to be thrown out.

Since, they now know that the house has been sold, the proper thing to do is to ask where to send their rents to now, but my guess is; the new owner will send them instructions with that details before the next rent due date.

The Judiciary is the problem we have in this country. In Nigeria, anybody highly placed can disobey the judiciary and nothing will happen. In civilised climes, the judiciary can even start an impeachment process against a sitting president by ordering investigations over allegations. They can order anybody to be arrested for disobeying it. In Nigeria, you will even need to pay court bailiffs to deliver court processes. You will mobilise the police to implement court judgements. You won't even want to sue any govt institution or private businesses for poor services or rights violation because it will take eternity to get justice.

Your indignation is in order, but for the record; the judiciary cannot initiate an impeachment process.


Their recourse to things like this, if they want to teach the government a lesson is to dismiss the charges against the defendant with prejudice.

Good one but this is exactly the reason some people are advancing againt banning guns in America. They will say that if this family for instance, had no gun at home, the robbers would have succeeded. They forgot that if the thieves had to guns, they may not have ventured into such act knowing fully well the risks involved when using other weapons not as effective, efficient and fast like guns for robbery. What if you flashed a legitimately acquired used phone, whose original owner legitimately disposed off and end up with an IMEI number belonging to a stolen phone?

An imei number tells, who the phone manufacturer is, phone type and manufacturing date, so you most likely will duplicate another number and/or assign a number that indicates a different manufacturer, phone type and date...in essence, your phone is now a fake!

And the very police armed with devices that can check imei numbers that you are trying to avoid or fool will detect the fake, thus putting you in a precarious situation to explain your innocent purchase, that you have turned into a fake & fraud!

That is correct, but the fees charged will be on the 50k, which is the amount over 500k.

To avoid the fees, come back tomorrow or open account in multiples banks. Also, remember the amount here is aggregate; which means if you withdraw 250k in the morning, came back in the afternoon to withdraw 200k, and in the evening you too another 100k, you will pay a fees on 50, since the culmilative withdrawal for that day was 550k.

She must be very hungry and desperate for the money, even resorting to emotional blackmail. I hope the police or EFCC gets hold of her and put her away for at least 6 months.
