Logic Mind: Na hatred o, my broda.Come on, you cant say that about Jesoul! However, we both know that religious intolerance must be present wherever there are religious people. Also, you should know that muslims are scared of pigs and bacon. You were asking for it ![]() Can you believe that I was insulted by a muslim for allowing my neice to play with a pig toy? Religion is a joke |
Logic Mind: Hehehe! Jesoul.Jesus Christ! Were you banned all this time? Ho do you manage to get banned every time? |
dedeman: u're a caling a servant of God, fraud; may d good lord 4give uThe guy is a fraud that has been caught more than once doing atrocities but he keeps deceiving sheep like you! |
hisblud: worst on what?Over-religiousness? God this, God that! |
italo: We must be careful when we say that Catholic teaching "changes." It doesn't, in the sense that it can make a 'u-turn' on what it said before. It can only get better defined as the Church is being better enlightened by the Holy Spirit... For example, the Church can never teach that purgatory does not exist because it has been revealed to us as truth, but it can understand more and more about purgatory.1) The catholic church supported slavery. Have you forgotten that? They changed that doctrine. Read about Pope Gregory IX sanctioning slavery 2) What about sanctioned holy wars and inquisitions? italo: Nope! It was always the teaching of the Church, it just was poorly understood when The Church said "No Salvation Outside The Catholic Church".Nope! The catholic church was mistaken in making that statement. italo: That's not exactly what the Church teaches. Its for people who are in a state of grace when they die (free of unconfessed mortal sins) but have either committed venial sins or have not adequately served the temporal punishment for forgiven mortal sins (as the Catholic Church believes that we pay for every sin - whether forgiven or not - in this life or in the next. It's exactly what the church teaches. Dead babies go to purgatory. Atheists/unbelievers who can claim that they have never heard of Jesus before will also go to purgatory then heaven italo: The priest, like anyone else can err, but it doesn't necessarily lead to excommunication if its an honest mistake. It does if he's doing it deliberately. The priest did not err, what he said was in line with the church's teaching. italo: The Church never changes a doctrine, what might change is a "discipline." An example of a discipline that can change is priestly celibacy. It is a discipline to encourage total devotion to God, not a doctrine. Was slavery a discipline? What about catholic sanctioned torture of heretics? italo: To reiterate: The Catholic Church has never changed a single doctrine in all its 2000year history. The catholic church changed on -slavery -sanctioning holy wars -torture of heretics |
Shollypopz: if you really understand the concept of salvation and being saved, then you would know that what you wrote here is a complete fallacy. Except of course, you're jokingIt's a hypothetical situation, smartass! |
buzugee: is that you in the first picture with the headwrap and white hair ?Hell no, just some big head blocking my pictures |
Omo_Tier1: Reading comments like these, it is not difficult for any spiritually insightful person to know why most Nigerians suffer the way they do! Hence the prayer for Nigerians: May God not pay us a people, a nation back the way we have ridiculed him! ![]() Keep talking nonsense. Nigerians problem is not spiritual. |
ijawkid: And when Jesus talked about ""brothers"" in that verse u quoted do u really know who he was reffering toI was a christian, remember? |
ijawkid: Logic bobo I'll do both.......Better answer....carry go baba ![]() |
ijawkid: Oboy I go take A joorrr........Sorry, wrong answer. 1) Christian viewpoint; Jesus will rebuke you in heaven for ignoring to help your Nigerian brothers; In his portrayal of the day of judgment, Jesus pictured people from all nations gathered before him, separated into "sheep" and "goats." (Matthew 25:31-46) To the "sheep" he says, "Come you blessed of my Father, for I was hungry and you fed me..." In their astonishment they ask, "When did we do that?" And he answers, "When you did it to the lowliest of my brothers (and sisters)." Conversely, to the "goats" he says, "Out of my sight, you who are condemned, for I was hungry and you did not feed me..." 2) Atheist/humanist point of view; There is no heaven. It is better to help your fellow humans when you can. We have socially evolved to realise the important of a cohesive and strong group |
Deep Sight: Not so, my brother. I just believe you need to divorce the obvious absurdity of religion from the pure philosophical precepts of the existence or non-existence of God. This should not be contingent on how absurd any religion is.It's harder to argue against an agnostic God. Faster and easier to debunk a religious God. An agnostic God would involve cosmology and philosophy. While I can argue on these two areas, it is not my favourite position |
ijawkid: HahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaAbeg, visit my thread; https://www.nairaland.com/949378/saved-heaven-save-nigeria-christian |
What is your choice then? |
Ptolomeus: Evangelista fanatic?haha... ![]() |
Deep Sight: You mean to say, almost all unschooled and mostly third-world borrowed-religion theists. Why dont you like me deepsight? Why? |
Given two choices; a) Saved for heaven -your sins are forgiven -you live in heaven in peace forever b) Saving Nigeria -you become the president -you get to solve the electricity problems -you tar the major roads -reduce unemployment to a single digit (from about 40%) and bring international investments. Which would you take? A or B? |
vedaxcool: Really is that the best you got? You deserve pity, u were catholic for 22 yrs? Really from every indication you were simply ignorant for most of the 22 yrs, I have showed u the catholic official position on making it to heaven, and truth hurts as you kind have been left out in the list ![]() So you resort to trolling when you have nothing to say? This is nice. Everybody can see who you are now. |
Deep Sight: This is just illiteracy. I sign off you. Enjoy your adolescence. But I have pubic hair ![]() |
Deep Sight: Huh? ? ? ? ?Ode, I saw what you wrote the first time. "poverty stricken idea" makes no difference unless you are trying to say "poor idea". |
musKeeto: lol@indian gfHave you been to Goa? that's one place want to go to in india! Anyways, lol at your last sentence- it has made me think of a new thread |
hmmm |
musKeeto: Lol, very true esp about BUZUGEE.. then the badt guy JoAgbaje, who gives the Word a form of malleability the Roman sword makers would have been proud of, then frosbel, davidlyan et al.Yes, I agree with your analysis of JoAgaje and Davidylan et al |
Deep Sight: Poverty of what? You really didn't read literature-in-english did you?Huh? Poverty is poverty. When someone says "poverty-stricken" we know it means without money and means to survive on ones own. |
vedaxcool: The illitracy of an individual is no longer my burden to demystify, here is the catholic position on non catholics making it to heaven:Desperation again!! Why do you try to argue on the catholic church when you are an aboki muslim that doesnt know much. Lets start with the debunking; 1) You are very desperate going to a [b]non-catholic website which summarizes and interpretes the catholic laws in its own method. 2) Your quote below is a lie; the liar forgets that even within the catholic church they atimes differ on doctrine, that was why the current pope was once refered to as the doctrine enforcerThe catholic church's teaching changes (that's why I am not a catholic anymore)but it remains uniform. The pope is allowed to make changes to canon law. Change does not mean that the catholic church is not uniform. You should stick to Arabic since your English is poor. Each pope can make ammends to some doctrines. However, those changes will be recognized by the catholic church- Uniformity. 3) The website shows that the catholic church has moved to the teaching that non-catholics or non believers can go to heaven . "The non-Christian may not be blamed for his ignorance of Christ and his Church; salvation is open to him also, if he seeks God sincerely and if he follows the commands of his conscience, for through this means the Holy Ghost acts upon all men; this divine action is not confined within the limited boundaries of the visible Church." 6" 4) The teaching on purgatory is for people who are not totally pure who have to be cleansed or do pennance before going to heaven unbelievers, babies etc go there before heaven. You are grasping at straws. The catholic church is the most uniform church in the world. The priest can not go outside the doctrine without excommunication. Furthermore, yes, the church changes its position but the changes are uniform accross the whle catholic church. You clearly lied out of ignorance and desperation about the uniformity of the catholic church. You look more and more like a desperate fool. I was a catholic for 22 years. You on the other hand, can not even differentiate between a catholic and protestant. Ode |
the funclub enterprise: And who are u?Haraam de boko |
the funclub enterprise: I pity u if u still don't believe in the supernaturalThis is the foolishness of the average Nigerian christian. Accepting battery and assuault on women in the name of religion or juju. You call yourself a christian and shake in the fear/silence of fake juju? Ode. There is no supernatural. Nothing. |
Deep Sight: I didn't say anything about money in my post, my friend. You did, in yours. What is poverty? Is it not directly related to money? You mentioned poverty. Fortunes dont relate only to money. Good fortunes can mean good health, happiness etc |
justaqad: i believed u skipped my posts.see how u re wallowing in deceit and ignorance.look up the word,MUSLIM IN wikipedia.deluded entity.thought u re smart,u just displayed ur real self.arabs dont own islam.Of course, Arabs dont own islam. However, Islam was started by an Arab. Muslim is someone who submits to the will of Allah. Allah is not Yaweh or the God of the old testament, try again |
musKeeto: Lol, very true esp about BUZUGEE.. then the badt guy JoAgbaje, who gives the Word a form of malleability the Roman sword makers would have been proud of, then frosbel, davidlyan et al.I am not a racial fanatic. I want Nigeria to be better. Everyone wants their country to be better. Nigerians just happen to be balck. I have nothing against any people of other colours. Did I tell you about my indian girlfriend? Have you eating chicken tikka masala with rice or chicken bryani? |
I have been accused of being an evangelist atheist and a fanatic so many times on Niaraland. I am here to defend myself from these accusations because they have been increasing in number and have been getting annoying! I know, I am very emotionally attached to Nairaland (I mean, where else can you get crazy racial interpretations of the bible like Buzugee's or tithe preachers fighting Oyedepo-slappers, or muslims and atheists ganging up to bash christians?)- the drama on Nairaland is super-story! e·van·ge·lism/iˈvanjəˌlizəm/ Noun: The spreading of the Christian gospel by preaching or personal witness. Zealous advocacy of a cause or belief I am not an evangelist; -I only debate here and try to debunk fake religious statements and also the existence of God. -Yes, I want Nigerians to become atheists but I dont force people. I debate and ask them to reason for themselves -I dont recommend books or churches or people to talk to in order to convert people -I dont make threads praising atheism everyday with a new message like christians/muslims do on different teachings of their holy books The main differences between me and an evangelist is that I am not spreading a belief, I am not zealous (as defined with forcing people)and I ask people to think for themselves. Telling people that there is no reason to believe in God and that they should see the flaws in religion is not evangelism. Telling people to look at how facts, whether scientific or not negate many aspects of Religion is not evangelism. fa·nat·ic/fəˈnatik/ Noun: A person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal, esp. for an extreme religious or political cause. Adjective: Filled with or expressing excessive zeal I am not an atheist fanatic; -I am a hardcore debater but I will never put anyone's life at risk for atheism -I even concede that it would be better for Nigerians to follow Nigerian religions rather than foreign ones. A compromise not for single minded zealots -Can you even compare me with people who preach everyday for their christian/muslim doctrines here on Nairaland? One other thing is the double standard against atheists. Christians are allowed to preach day and night on Nairaland. They are allowed to give praise to God- the longest thread on Nairaland religous section is the christian praise thread where hundreds of Niaraland christians give praise to god. However, when atheists talk about the non-existence of God, we are labelled as "intolerant", "fanatics", "annoying", "blasphemous". I hope that I have convinced you guys that I am not an evangelist or a fanatic. |
