ajbabs: Study the below for more understanding on tithe
Deut 14: 22- 27, This is how God Almighty wants us to spend the tithe, if the new millennium ( modern day) pastors would be bent on us to pay tithe or go to hell. After you, might have read the above bible passages, then read the popular Malachi 3:10 If you are to bring tithe to house of the Lord, you are the one to determine how to spend the tithe according to words of God Almighty by using it to buy things to eat in the house of the Lord and in his presence. God Almighty then advised his people to remember sons of Levite when they are eating their tithe.
God didn't demand for money! Even if you bring your tithe from a far place, you can change it to money but by the time to get to presence of God Almighty, your must use the money (tithe) to buy food and wine and you and your family members should eat it in the presence of Lord but remember to share out of your tithe to priests (who are sons of Levite), orphans and those who don't have. This is God's command.
My brother, then read Hebrew 7: 1- 28 for better understanding for the eradication of tithe by Apostle of Christ. Read Hebrew 7: 12 very well
Jesus Christ death ended the requirement of the law. Rom 10:4
Don't allow yourself to be deluded. Heb 7:8-12
8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. 9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. 11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law
The law has been set aside (Heb 7:18), included in the law is its requirement that you pay tithe. It was a sin not to do so, but the law has been changed after Christ paid with his blood and set the law aside. No true christian is under the law. When Christ was alive and the law was then effective. Christ's death ended it.
Slight modifications : In accordance with the advice from the scripture that I should not forsake the fellowship of the believers, I am fellowshipping with the believers in a local parish of RCCG, in Ibadan. Deut 14:22-27 is rarely ever preached about the tithe. Never heard it preached in the 34 years that have passed since Jesus became my Lord. I tithe because the church needs resources to function. Anyone who imagines that tithing will assure him/her of heaven is decieved. In this day and age we need to study our Bible and emulate the Berean Christians. |

Other residential areas are State Low-cost, Rantya and Federal Low- cost Housing estate, Miango Road. Jos has a cool, even cold, weather for most months of the year but can be very hot from March to May. The temperature could climb up to 39*C! This year the heat set in from February.
Life in Jos is laidback. We are polite and even exchange greetings with strangers on the road etc. Food is cheap i.e. locally grown or sourced items. Jos is a city with all the negative patterns of city life so one must be alert. There are a lot of shops - all types- but one can't tell how profitable business is. To thrive, you'll need to learn Hausa. There are many people who've lived here for decades and can't speak the language. But if you make the effort it'll pay you especially since you intend to be a businesswoman. |

EgunMogaji: Terrazzo is actually quite common but in older builds. My Dad did it for our house, also 70’s. Also Ibadan
The thing is indeed durable. I love terrazzo and see it's used a lot in churches now. It's my preferred flooring for our buildings. An architect friend of ours laughed at me when I told him we would use terrazzo. He said it was old school. Later that year he got in touch seeking information because he was bidding for a contract in Abuja. A government agency in the financial sector had decided it wanted the tiles in its reception removed and terrazzo installed. 2015. The problem is getting the skilled workman, and ensuring that the required amount of materials is used. We buy and stock the chippings and cement so there is no room for them to cut corners. |

paxonel: Op, there are other ways Leah sharibu would have done it and set herself free from captivity and still remain a christian which would have been wiser than her inspiring christians who are observing the situation at the expense of her freedom and liberty.
Denying Islam in the presence of her captors who want her to change her faith to Islam for her freedom is not necessary. The decision will never inspire christians in anyway, Though they can pretend to be inspired
I guess because she is still a child, she cannot think of any other way, so she remains in captivity(hopefully, God may touch her captors to release her)
An adult christian is not expected to be childish like that The Lord bless her. Remember Jesus said we should have faith like a child/children. |

Hello Kalusam. I'd like to know if ugu has a lifetime.I had a beautiful experience with the broad leaf variety I planted in 2016. I got big pods too. I was shocked when it died. And the rains had not ceased. Does one replant each year? I've done that but I want to know if that is the way of ugu. Or I shouldn't have depended on rain alone? Thank you. |

Enoquin: You all need to learn and respect the fact that not everyone is family oriented. Stop trying to project your own beliefs and feelings on another person because while backgrounds might be similar, experiences and the lessons you learn from that will not be, which is how we have all come to be different. Agreed. But as people age their attitudes and desires undergo some changes. Earlier she really wasn't available to her children.Their dad was. Now she would like more interaction with them but they don't need what they didn't get when they were young. That is the real story. That's why parents who bond with their children when they are young don't have to look for them later in life. |

I've seen homes in Florida with fireplace when i visited there ,though it rarely snows in Florida and most of the state is Tropical .though rarely it gets as low as 10 degrees . In January, the temperature in Jos went as low as 10 degrees. In Kuru, 8 degrees. |

A fireplace wouldn't be out of place if the house is on the Jos plateau. There are seasons when it would/could be used. Years ago, I spent my Christmases at a guesthouse run by missionaries and enjoyed the evenings sitting by the fire. |

LandOwners: 1. Get your survey plan
2. Get the land information from the surveyor general's office or ask your lawyer to get it for you. It costs just about N7,000
3. Get your structural Drawing in place i.e what structure you intend to put on the land or architectural design
4. Two Passport photographs
5. Tax reciept or Tax clearance certificate (This is very very important now and without this, no C/O would be granted) Now if you don't have it, but you want to proceed with your C/O registeration immediately, you must pay about N60,000 to the land registry to cover the Tax clearance certificate. No more, no less.
6. Purchase reciept from the previous owners or family that sold it to you better still known to you as the "omo ni ile boys".
7. Legal Fees negotiable with the lawyer.
8. Also hold BROWN ENVELOPE. (BRIBE) lol 60k in lieu of tax clearance certificate? I thought it was increased to 200/300k. Please confirm for us. |

spyder880: 1. What's the likely cost of fitting a small elevator (say 1.2 metres sq) in a house with 5 floors in Nigeria?
2. Which are the leading companies in elevator installation and maintenance in Nigeria?
I just want to understand why the use of elevators is not widespread in the country. It's the question that's been on my mind since last year. I visited an office in an old part of Delhi and was unhappy at the thought of climbing up four flights. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a small lift took us up. It was functional and got me wondering why we don't have such lifts all around us. Our educational and other institutional buildings being built today lack even the most basic lift.If it's because the established dealers' profit margins are too high then there's room for new entrants providing functional lifts and services for far lower costs. |

Some people give in to anger and think they are disciplining a child. Yes, Vera had no business going out of the home to play. If she'd been abducted or raped the stepmother would have been targeted. But what kind of discipline is this? Favour stooled on herself. Did she have an upset stomach or something? A loving mum would have worried and cleaned her up, not injured her. Very few women can be mothers to children they did not give birth to and some men are aware of the abuse they subject the children to but prefer to say nothing. I was 33 when my dad told me he noted every thing my stepmom did to me. I told him it didn't matter. I thank the Lord that by then it was just history and didn't matter. Neighbours, please intervene when you can because some people are stressed and are taking it out on their stepchildren. |

A hurt child. Mothers play a special role in the lives of their sons. Dad might have paid the bills but what about the emotional support? This is just another case of a broken home and parents pursuing their own lives. Happens all the time. Then when the years have passed and the children have grown the parents begin to blackmail the child to play their game. They should go and pray to God to soften their son's heart and stop trying to manipulate him. |

We live in an environment where relations of a man who dies have been known to deprive his wife and children of his property. It makes every sense to have the couple's name written as Kolawole and Onyinye Igbaka on all documents.
It is not broadcast but there are many women who actually paid for the property the couple own even though the deeds reflect both names and the world believes the man purchased the property. That is the oneness of marriage.
I had a colleague who said everything he bought was bought in his wife's name because he knew what his family would do if anything happened to him.
In Lagos, putting both names on deeds means you must provide tax clearances for each person when processing your C of O etc but I believe that the additional finance involved should not be an excuse for using Mr. and Mrs. Somebody in this day and age. |
