Christianity Etc › Re: Pls Will All Muslim Go To Hell. by macof(m): 9:24pm On Sep 22, 2013
idnoble135: Okkk... Look at this verses.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved. Rom 10:13

Watch the connection...
How then will they call on him in whom they have not
believed? And how are they
to believe in him of whom they have never heard? [a] And how are they to hear
without someone preaching? Rom 10:14

In other words except they call on God they cannot be saved. Rom 10:9-10 explains how they can call upon God.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth
confession is made unto
salvation.

You believe people by good conscience can make heaven. Scripture says its through Jesus. You believe they should just be good to make heaven. Scriptures above says they must personally confess and believe in Jesus.
Dont they oppose what you are trying to bring up?
so as long as u believe in Jesus u go to heaven? Whether u live a righteous life or not just believe he died for ur sins and worship him then u heaven is sure? If that's the case all the good men of the bible before Jesus wouldn't make heaven eg. Abraham,Moses,Samuel,David etc. Pls u people should stop deceiving people and most especially stop demonising other religions, heaven is not for christians alone

Culture › Re: Who Are The Akoko Of Northern Ondo State? by macof(m):
killayut: Ogiso was not an Edo word. matter of fact Ogiso is still used today. OGISO is an Ijaw word meaning sky God.. Ogina so is the right way.. Ogina and so meaning natural god of the sky. This word is still used by the Ijaws especially Ijaws of the east. Every clan of the eastern Ijaw claim their ancestors came from Benin as Ijaws and not as Edos... THERE IS NO traditional ruler in Yoruba land that has the OBA title except Eko and Badagry where the Edos introduced it.. There is not other way of saying OBA of Benin just as you would say AWUJALE of Ijebu or Ooni Of Ife. Oba is the title of the Benin ruler.
oba means king, everybody knows dat, dats the only word for king in yoruba and it has been dat way from the beginingn, a yoruba god is named obatala-king of white clothes, we have obafemi and other names like dat. Wat bini name has Oba in it? all yoruba kings have their respective tithes eg. alaafin of oyo, ooni of ife, deji of akure but they are all called oba. U say Ogiso isn't an Edo word?! Then how come bini kings before Eweka(Oranmiyan's son) were called Ogiso? Bini didn't use Oba for their king until they had yoruba influence. And now u want to say its originally a bini word. Well regardless we both use the word, its our language so let's stop argument abeg.

beejaay: because there is rili no point for or against. When we begin to awake (breaking out of the matrix smiley ) we begin to realize that there is rili no point at all, trying to make a point is tantamount to being suck in back into d matrix of ego and dysfunction. Religion is not right and its not wrong, its simply a form of knowledge(the problem arises when the follower religions make the religion into their identity and take it for who they are forgetting that religion is only a means to an end and not an end in itself)
I get all dat, but why do christians and muslims hate all forms of pagan religions? To the extent that they associate the religions to their devil. My guess is dat they are just to ignorant and brainwashed, most of them don't even know anything abt wat they rebuke and preach against

killayut: Oba is an Edo word and Yoruba do not use it unless at were Edition ruled. OBA OF BENIN. there is nothing like Obama title in any Yoruba land. So this false claim means Akoko is also anEdo word. ONI OF UFE AWUJALE OF IJEBU OLU IBADAN BUT OBA OF BENIN..OBA OF OGBA LAND. .STOP CLAIMING EDO words.King una Yoruba is kabiyesi.
kabiyesi means questioning u is impossible. Its jst an honorary term like "your highness/majesty/excellency. It doesn't mean king. U should knw that the meaning of king in bini was originally "ogiso" before Oranmiyan came to the land and change things

killayut: Yoruba people dont want to accept when they borrowed other people's words and even culture..
so wrong, we acknowledge that we have some hausa, fulani, fon, edo and english origin words but ancient yoruba would only corrupt/change the pronouciation a bit(in most cases). As for "iye" am sure its a yoruba word as well as "iya" cus the yoruba goddess of water bodies is Iyemoja meaning-mother to the children of fishes

thoth: yeah i have noticed that , people are now told that many of their surnames binds them to evil spirit and you see many of your young men changing their family to ridiculous things like Collins,Mcpepple, Edwards,Moses and Joshua. one of my friends wife changed all her kids Igbo name to english with her belief that those names had links to backward spirits, she changed Ikechkwu to Godspower, Uchechukwu to Godswill and Chukwuebuka to Greatgod. It took the intervention of her family to stop my friend from divorcing her. she would not even speak Igbo with the kids and forces them to speak English at home.. .......I don't really understand how her pastor made her to believe that anything linked to her culture is evil.
. Pentecostal churches No 1 enemy of African culture

killayut: People should go by what the historian has been saying..The original land owners are the edos.. AKOKO is an EDO word just as OBA is an EDO word. No natives who migrate to other land are always taking over the land of the natives and this is not a good thing.. Those who have migrated to another land must accept the identity of the land.. Ghanaians would not come to Nigeria and claim Nigeria is GHANA.
Akoko is a Yoruba word, it means wood-pecker. And oba is also a Yoruba word means king. The thing is Edo and Yoruba languages have a lot of words in common but I can tell u that the "Akoko".and "oba" are originally Yoruba words. And the akoko people claim to be Yoruba. This is not about claiming anybodies land Yoruba are not like Igbo.

What's all these I read about the killing of twins in Africahuh These are the rubbish they teach in western style schools, and u fools believe all of it while growing up without learning and reading from other sources first. Killing of twins was only prevalent in calabar. Most African ethnic groups have always cherished twins so calabar has turned to the whole of Africahuh.

Sabbath Means ''REST'' and not Saturday . It also doesn't mean Worship.
God worked for Six days . .on the seventh day he Rested .

You can work for six days in the week...but u MUST keep the sabbath.. Any day can be ur Sabbath

Jesus is the Lord of the sabbath....so picking anyday of the week to worship him is not a sin
Jesus never asked any one to worship him(sabbath or any other day), it was Moses that asked for the sabbath day thing for God. Wat concern Jesus with sabbath day?
