Thank God i am not a Yoruba man o. Yorubas are the perfect slaves, it is deep rooted in their blood and disguised as respect for the elderly. It just happens that the elderly are the richest and powerful ones, If he was a much younger wealthy person he would still do the same. Yorubas have been suffering from slavery long before the Whites came to colonize us, Virtually every tribe including theirs have enslaved them in the past. I will only carry bags from my parents or if it is obvious to everyone that you are struggling with heavy bags. Apart from that you can even fire me for not bending to greet you or carrying your weightless handbags. This is why i have problem with Yorubas superiors. They attached too much relevance to themselves and demand respects as if they eat it.
grin grin this one has seen opportunity to attack the yoruba nation. jobless lot

What does it matter? The whole classification system itself is arbitrary.

Are "white people" realy white? some only whitish, others are pink and a few could be best described as gray. at times you can't really tell the difference between white people and arabs going by skin color alone...so why is this an issue that anyone should get worked up over?
shocked what is this?

pink o, red o ...fact is race is not by skin tone.

a white man doesn't mean white skin like snow. .. neither does black man mean black like charcoal. to you Chinese and europeans are all the same I guess undecided

it's Yoruba mentality, they love it too much, I remember the secondary school years, the owner of the school is an igbo woman, she instructed us to always call all female staff "Madam" while the male are "Sir"
fast-forward to the day of waec, one Yoruba external invigilator came, somebody tried to call her attention "Madam",she then became furious cursing in Yoruba, blah blah blah, call me mummy not madam, I am old enough to be ur mother blah blah blah, I am not igbo etc, it was another thing that day, For me I can't ever call anyone who is not my mother Mummy, it doesn't make sense

Even the primary I went a deeper woman owns it, I never really did wrap my head around why we called her "School mummy"

like somebody said, salutation is never love, Yoruba think that lying in the mud to greet somebody is respect,i am sorry to burst your bubble, it's not

you can force a child who hates you to prostrate to you but fact is he will still hate u afterwards
lmao. it's because in Yoruba language "madam" and mummy are called with the same word "Iya"

I dont get why she took offense by being called "madam" tho ..some people have serious problems. .it's not a yoruba thing

moscobabs:
Just resumed my new office last week o.

My first time of working with White man sa (Lebanese) , The man is free and humble in fact everybody loves him, among other Lebanese my Boss is jovial, free and hardworking man.

He has worked in 5 African countries so he understands Africa and her culture very well.

The real story....

I resumed very early this morning and I decided to wait in front of office before I start today's activities when I saw my boss coming down from his Truck carrying his bag , as a young Yoruba man that comes from good background ..lol So I ran to him and say Good morning sir (bend my head) and I stretch my hand to collect his bag.

The man who has never disrespect me like that before shouted on me!!

Who owns the bag? he asked

repeat!!!! who owns the bag moscobabs?

Me: You sir!!!! I replied..

if it's me "why should u collect it from me?

Me: I just wanted to help u sir.

Y? ..... I couldn't respond .

I say why? ...meet me in office now!!!! he commanded .

We entered his office and he sat me down

moscobabs, You were employed as so so so in this company not to carry bag, the bag belongs to me and I must carry it, also you always bend whenever you greet me...please its not necessary, in fact its not official, I just opportune to be your boss, you are married as I , You are graduate although you are younger than me but you have to attach respect to yourself.

I was like " ki la gbe, ki la ju" but I replied him by saying ....

Sir, I am african we have cultures and Traditions and parts of these is what I did, We respect our elders and seniors that's why we bend or prostrate while greeting and we do help them carry their loads even if we carry ours too.

And he responded with smiles...No problem But when next you greet me in such an embarrassing way or try to collect my bag I won't think twice before I sack you!!!

I beg o Is anything wrong in what I did?

Is there any other reason for his reaction?

The man just dey look me somehow since morning
yorubas misunderstanding yoruba culture.

that's not culture but eye service. .your boss is right to sack you once you try taking his bag again. .. the bending head to greet is ok!

and did you just call a Lebanese man whitehuh WTF!

same way Osun (osanyin) appears prominently in bini culture. bini aren't known to be philosophical. the fact that Olokun is not a bini word sells you out

Yemoja is actually a river goddess associated with the Ogun river and mother of other river goddesses. I don't know her oriki and even some time in the past I thought her a sea goddess but I've been told by babalawos that she is not the sea goddess but all waters used for domestic use and fishing which the Ogun river was used for extensively by the Oyo Empire

I believe I am open to read and understand your personal opinion, but I cant accomodate attempts to interprete the author under a shade of biases.
but you saw that was the main point of the screen shot? that because yorubas have concepts of repentance, sanctification and justification which true black Africans are not capable of having, being savage, therefore yoruba are not true Africans but descended from Semites

The problem is the sincerity of the southwest_alignment with the Yorubas always backfire_ it happened during the precursor to the civil war_Awolowo agreed to pull out of the federation once Ojukwo declare secession. Awolowo later dashed that trust_re-aligned with the north and unleashed terror on the East. Awo even became the giant gear that propelled the ship of that infamous genocide. Caution has to be taken in any move toward united south_throwing caution to the wind could be a deadly fang of a cobra!

There could even be a grand conspiracy in this call for united south.
common sense would have told ojukwu that Awolowo didn't have the power to declare Oduduwa republic in 1967.... Awolowo expressed intentions to ally with the East all through his political career but the east was feeling too big and preferred the north for their numbers

A colleague in the office told me that the Yoruba language has dual interpretation of every word / phrase- and that the idea is to ensure that they can take any side as long as it favors them.

Yorubas deserve to remain with their eternal allies the North. Cursed
no ethnic group has been against the north more than Yoruba. Igbos allied with the north for all elections before 2003...1999 PDP was actually an alliance of east and north again, Igbo men like Alex Ekwueme, Akadigbo and Anyim Pius Anyim were powerful igbo men that rallied support for Obasanjo who yorubas didn't want
