jimi4us: Amaechi was behaving like someone who was high on Politics today (channels TV) yesterday Nope! Seun was asking dumb and idiotic questions. Pray tell, how can he be asking when will Lagos - Ibadan rail become operational? How can he be asking the Minister of Transportation question that should have been directed to the Minister of Finance? How can he be asking question trap question about herders?, so that either way Amaechi answers he incur the wrath of different divides? |

Fixey: 1 Million a day trip. Fabu. You guys still think we're in the era where people don't pay attention to details I think they were trying to report estimated number of passengers per day (ridership) and not trips. It is an imperative for the existing traffic congestion in metropolitan areas. London Underground had been moving over 1-3million a day since the early 2000. Currently Lagos roads are congested with over 1million vehicles and we probably have over 5million people on the roads |

Okuda: it is not standard. it is also not by force. you guys should stop turning abnormality to normal. even abroad, there is nowhere they would ask you to write it dow, the highest is expectation and maybe during an interview on a casual note, they can ask. you are not obliged to answer that question. they should tender their offer, if it sits well with you, fine, if not, you either ask for something better or don't accept it.! Bros, When you finish school and start attending interviews, come back here and tell us it's not standard. Meanwhile stop referring to a bogus and non-existent "abroad" you're yet to even experience. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: An Employer Asking Applicant About His Salary In His Previous Work.is It Right? by mapet: 8:34pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Yustash001: Good evening Nairalanders,
I went for an interview yesterday and among questions that was ask in the written interview is "How much was your salary in the previous school where you worked?". I wrote " it's confidential " because I thought it isn't formal to be asking such question in an interview.
So, during the oral interview, they asked while I didn't write the amount, I told them I don't want to disclose it and I don't think it's formal. I decided not to argue it further when the principal said it's formal, even though I didn't disclose the amount in the end. So, my people, have you ever experienced such? And is it formal to ask applicants of the exact amount they receive as salary in the organisation where they formerly work?
Please help push it to the front page... Young Folks, You just like to "score own-goals" at will. You mean you told a prospective employer that your salary because you "don't think it's formal"? You just wrote your resignation letter while you're yet to receive an employment letter. Bros, next time do the following; 1. Get coaching and assistance on interview techniques 2. Read books and sites on interview techniques 3. Be honest. Say things as it is..... and don't appear evasive Meanwhile, It is standard for a prospective employer to ask for your last salary information. |

Amaechi tried and failed, Oshiomhole failed too, Okorocha failed too. Or does it have anything to do with the servile nature of Yorubas? What do you call failure in Ipobian land ?
Is it The new standard guage rail line
Bus Rapid transit

High GDP
High IGR
Eko Atlantic
Akwa Ibom is diversifying its Economy through investment in infrastructure and Yorubas are very happy for them, same as Kano and Kaduna..... Can't you people pretend to be happy for Lagos
Haba!!!!
. Pretend? On all fronts one can never give what one lacks, be it values or capability to grow. You know from his post, "it's all shades of wrong" ...... that a governor blows the trumpet to commission 377 projects........ Interpretation - It's all shades of wrong that good things never ceases to happen in Lagos.....it's all shade of wrong that Tinubu's political space, leadership and followership continues to trump their myopia. They are not set out to see development...... they are naturally used to be under-developed |

victorix: Way back in 2009/2012, a Blackberry device was on everybody's wishlist. Those Blackberry people use our eyes see pepper that year. Any small thing, "ping me!" "What's your BB pin?" People just assumed that you a BB device. Even the notification sound from BBM alone made some people feel like they have made it, Lol. Then from 2012/2013, the brand began to die. I think people moved to Android devices and iPhones. It was even after the whole Blackberry trend ended I got to use one.
There were other popular phone brands, too, that just suddenly went under the radar. What happened to these brands: HTC, Blackberry, LG, Sony, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Alcatel? I think Nokia is recently trying to pick up. Those guys made cool devices back then.
Modified: I know some of these brands still make phones, but I'm talking about market share and dominance. Simple! Open Source Android OS happened, leading to open platform technology and flexibility of Apps deployment, as such power was given to many players to deploy apps on platform, while these traditional ones suddenly found themselves in catch-up zone. Even Microsoft phones could hardly make it |

..sometimes the energy required to reply you kids seems sapping. Re:passed into law vs signed into law, It must be rocket science for you lot to make mountain of simple issues. First off, the Amotekun concept did not emanate from the blues, rather it was jointly agreed at the Western Nigerian economic summit, - DAWN Commission which touched upon regional policing, amongst various socio-economic aspects. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Amotekunhttp://dawncommission.org/southwest-disagrees-as-presidency-says-igll-determine-amotekuns-structure/Lagos State, had been an active player the DAWN Commission and supports all its initiatives since the days of Fashola. The same Sanwo-olu that you guys accuse led other Govs in a close-door meeting with IG on the same Amotekun issue https://tribuneonlineng.com/just-in-amotekun-sanwo-olu-akeredolu-other-s-west-govs-ig-behind-closed-door-parley/amp/..but Lagos is different. Unlike other states it already had a community policing arrangements (Neighborhood Watch) long before now, which served as a model. The Amotekun law passed was to strengthen it. If you guys were following development, rather than the uneducated politics from an illiterate Gani Adams, then you would have needlessly made this an issue. porka: But do you know the difference between PASSED INTO LAW
and
SIGNED INTO LAW?
Why not take your own advise and "google search" the difference?
For your education and those other ignorant or those paid to muddle issues, bills are PASSED INTO LAW by the legislature. Thereafter, the legislature sends the passed bill to the executive (the governor or president) for assent - that's when they are SIGNED INTO LAW. That's when they become law.
Adams actually used the word SIGNED but the link you provided is saying PASSED INTO LAW by the LAHA.
Even the response from the commissioner didn't provide any proof that the bill was SIGNED as he claimed.
Is it that you are deliberately distorting information or you don't know your right from your left?. |

What exactly is your point? What do you mean by “no need to hit the polity”? And why do you have to quote the entire story? you heard me well. don't derail the thread here. US delegates opposed AFDB President , Akinwumi Adesina, at the end, he won that seat back. another US delegates in WTO I opposed Okonjo Iweala, she will win that seat back too. she has highest number of votes cast for her nomination. Your submission is the needless heat. Fact is that BBC reported that the US was making frantic effort to stop NOI despite the fact that she holds US citizenship. It is ironical that US is backing a non-US citizen against a US citizen. The issue is that Africans are taking strategic positions in the world economy and polity..... and as such African interests will be protected, projected and becomes stronger. That is why FG and other African leaders swung into action to make sure NOI's lead preserved and win confirmed. |
