I wish the school will serve the purpose of most Mission schools set up in the past to meet the educational needs of the faithfuls at an affordable rate. Anyway, kudos to them for the rating but for the low income earner, going there is like studying "abroad" in NIGERIA.

Nigerian politicians celebrate defection as if it adds value to them. Their supporters rejoice because of the supposed numerical increase but they fail to remember that whatever that drove them from their former parties may still be waiting for them in their new stopover. Such men of little patience that lack principles and political ideology should not be trusted. Even on the eve of the elections, many will still cross-carpet. People jump from one party to the other as monkeys jump from one tree to the next.These political jobbers make politics a big joke in Nigeria. Weather from APC to PDP or vice versa, they jare ust the same; POLITICAL MARKETERS.

If GMB does not tolerate criticism, then he has no business in politics in Nigeria or elsewhere. Politicians have no limits when it comes to destructive criticism of their opponents. They fight dirty and hardly stick to the rules of engagement. If you want your privacy to be intact, steer clear of politics especially in Nigeria. He who gathered ant-infested firewood sent an open invitation to lizards. If you want political power then you should be thick-skinned enough to absorb the punches, after-all you cannot make an omelet without breaking egg (MKO of blessed memory)

The build-up to the elections next year is becoming worrisome. These accusations and counter accusations is overheating the polity unnecessarily. If politics is still a game of number in Nigeria, let every political party sheath their swords and test their popularity at the polls next year. No matter how desperate a politician is, he cannot prolong his life by one second. They are still mortals like us even though they claim to wear the garb of immortality.I think it is time to kneel to conquer these barbaric gladiators.

The true character of any man is shown when his ego is wounded. Senator Mark displayed maturity and upheld the sanctity of the hallowed chambers in the face of insult and embarrassment. The charade yesterday at the national assembly confirmed my suspicion that there are many charlatans in that green chamber who have no business with law making.I was shocked to hear a lawmaker/lawbreaker threatening a colleague that he will slap him if he tells him not to insult the Senate President. Kaigama, who spoke at the 80th Anniversary of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Jos, Plateau State, said that members of ASUU had lost focus on the cause for their battle.

The cleric said that ASUU, by allowing the strike to linger and allowing students to stay at home for four months running, had exhibited utter insensitivity to the plight of Nigerian students and their future.

He said he regretted that the association had failed to yield to pleas from all quarters, including the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, stressing that ASUU had shown that it was fighting for other causes other than the future of education in the country.

Kaigama said, “Initially I was with ASUU, but when they have allowed the students to stay at home for four months now they begin to lose my sympathy. You don’t go on a strike for a long time, especially in a sector like education, which is the bedrock of the development of any society.

“You said you are fighting for the students and have allowed them to stay at home for more than four months, you must be fighting for something else. You have made your point and all I expect is that they should have listened to all the pleadings by Nigerians, including the Catholic Bishops Conference, which has just ended its meeting in Benue State and where we appealed to ASUU, in the interest of Nigerian students, to go back to the classroom” [/b]

This is surely not in the interest of any student. 400Billion Naira will not solve the problem of outdated lecture notes, misappropriation of research grants and truancy among some occupants of our Ivory Towers. I hope Prof. Fagge and Gov. Kwankwaso are not in the same GROUP.

NUPENG should not aggravate the already bad situation in the country by embarking on a solidarity strike with ASUU. In whose interest will the strike be? Some students have already chosen other routs of survival and any strike by NUPENG will add salt to injury.How many problems have we been able to resolve in Nigeria by embarking on strike? As a postgraduate student, i have since moved on with my life outside the campus.This strike might just be the opportunity one needs for self appraisal. I don't pray for the " EGYPT EXPERIENCE" in Nigeria but solidarity strike by other labour unions will either persuade the Govt to grant ASUU's demands or lead to breakdown of law and order if they don't.

10 Finally and most importantly, LOOK UP TO THE GREAT PROVIDER who is capable of turning every situation around for better.

I was practically forced out of that airport road one day by politicians hurrying to the airport. Most of them have no regard for traffic rules and their activities are not within the scope of Road Safety officials. Accident can be caused by bad road but the most fatal of them result from reckless driving and over speeding on good roads. I am looking forward to the day that our politicians will start obeying traffic rules and consider other road users too. Vission 202020 is not attainable at the rate we are going. We are good at formulating laudable policies but we seem to forget that consistency is important in pushing the polices through. We had HOUSE FOR ALL BY THE YEAR 2000, CLOTH, FREE MEDICARE,EVERYTHING FOR ALL BY THE YEAR 2000 12 years later we are still waiting for the fulfilment of govt promises.There isno need comparing ourselves with those who ve the necessary incentives for development in place. Ther is no power to sustain local production here, we dont have a functional steel plant that is the backbone of industrialisation in the western world. Just like year 2000, 2020 will soon be here.

I really feel for the Bakassi people whose rights of citizenship and cultural heritage was traded by the colonial masters and later the Gowon administration during the civil war. I sincerely hope that Gowon will tell Nigerians how Bakassi was lost to Cameroun at ICJ in his Civil war memoirs someday.
