Sadly drug use is rampant ...from prior mention, they use it or encourage them to use to numb their darkest feelings that took them into sleeping in the public space...Personally I feel like those that supply the drugs want them addicted so they will continue in that trade to earn money for their drug addiction...so at the initial stage it feels like party club fun big mansion sexy drinking smoking and doing drugs...makes you vulnerable. So if you are struggling, is it that you had too many kids? How will you sponsor them at the tertiary institutions when you will need to pay for housing, their own feeding and yours, tuition and books? 3 kids even in sane country is a lot these days. Ance4Liverpool: |
A waste of money and resources....when my roofer wanted to do this shit, I told him I don't need it that high...we cut it to about half the size...I am not sure people realize the amount of unnecessary materials being used for something not needed. These materials come with 25-50yr warranty especially Gerard Roof Tiles. They often say it allows more space so hot air would flow easily...but if I am planning to install POP and AC anyways, why could that matter.. They actually look ugly from afar...something people barely consider...how can the height of the roof be almost the height of the house from the base? It is important we stay in school and learn to study and research...this is not done in any sane country or countries. money121: |
Makes sense...with 2024 Budget and the appropriation for Capital Expenses being a record percentage, investors are banking on cement prices remaining in high demand and probably forecasting price of cement increases. Wasn't there an agreement? Why is it that people always want you to beg for money that you have earned? Reminds me of useless tenants...they know when the rent is due, but they will still expect landlord to pursue...even if you don't have it yet...act like Omoluabi and contact the Landlord in advance. They act like paying rent is doing you a favor. She has offered her services...why make her wait while you take your pictures? So rude and disrespectful...if her makeup artist was a white woman, would she try that nonsense? I used to have a client like that...I collected my money and told her I wouldn't work with her daughter anymore. She thought it was a joke. She always delays payment...after 3 or 4 opportunities, I was done. She was telling people to beg me... it's not about begging me. You do not respect me and respect what I do. It's always us. It is so demeaning ...you are threatening her you might not pay her...it is not her fault... the useless court system we have. In the US, a Lawyer will quickly take up the case, and she will pay for the time she spent waiting and court costs...N250k will become N500k sharp. Newsmic: |
Can you post the survey report here? Maybe there was recommendation was certain amount of casings that you didn't do to specification. Some times the borehole companies also shortchange people so one need to read the meters of casings, ask the length of each casing and make sure the numbers match...if each casing is 3m and you need 42m, you will need 14 casings or 15 just to be sure. News of a secret meeting among extremists to discuss mass deportations, including of citizens from immigrant backgrounds, has shaken the society. By Christopher F. Schuetze Reporting from Berlin Jan. 20, 2024, 12:01 a.m. ET Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in protest against the far-right party Alternative for Germany, known as AfD, in recent days. Legal scholars are discussing whether the party can be banned. Political leaders are warning of a fundamental threat to society. “I will say it clearly and harshly: Right-wing extremists are attacking our democracy,” Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in his weekly video message to Germans on Friday. “They want to destroy our cohesion.” While it is not uncommon for German politicians to warn against the far right, the alarm has taken on new urgency since it was revealed that far-right leaders had held a secret meeting late last year to discuss mass deportations — not just of illegal migrants, but even of German citizens who immigrated to the country, who they do not consider to be fully assimilated. “It’s the famous straw that broke the camel’s back,” said Matthias Quent, a sociologist who has spent years studying the far right. “It was a trigger for something and it’s not only about the meeting, but the strengthening of the AfD, which frightens many people.” ADVERTISEMENT SKIP ADVERTISEMENT The AfD has enjoyed a surge in polls for months as discontent has grown with Germany’s cumbersome three-party government, along with fear of uncontrolled immigration. While only 10 percent of Germans voted for the AfD during the last nationwide election in 2020, the party is currently polling at record levels — just under 25 percent nationwide, and well above 30 percent in eastern states, which will hold elections later this year. Image Olaf Scholz, wearing a black overcoat, walks with other men who are wearing gray jackets. In a post on X, Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany said that he was grateful to those protesting “against racism, hate speech and for our liberal democracy.”Credit...Michaela Stache/Agence France-Presse — Getty Images Fear of an ascending AfD has turned nearly to panic since Correctiv, a small crowd-funded investigative news site, revealed last week the private meeting of far-fight politicians, businessmen and several neo-Nazis at the end of November. More on Germany An Easier Path to Citizenship: Lawmakers in Berlin approved legislation allowing shorter waiting periods before naturalization and the possibility of dual citizenship. At a Standstill: Germany’s economy contracted 0.3% in 2023, making it not only the largest economy but also the slowest growing among the 20 countries using the euro. A Boost for the AfD: Voters in eastern Germany elected a far-right city mayor, a reflection of the surging popularity of the nationalist party Alternative for Germany. Budget: Nearly a month after a court ruling left a hole in Germany’s 2024 budget, the government in Berlin introduced a new spending plan that included cuts in programs to address climate change and was expected to comply with constitutional rules against taking on new debt. The main speaker at the event was an Austrian extreme-right proponent, Martin Sellner, who uses the term “remigration,” a buzzword in the extremist scene that denotes long-term deportation strategies. ADVERTISEMENT SKIP ADVERTISEMENT Mr. Sellner confirmed that he was part of the meeting, but denied that he spoke of deporting German citizens — despite the fact that he has publicly called for exactly that. Correctiv documented the meeting using hidden cameras, witness accounts and one undercover reporter, who checked in to the hotel where the meeting took place under an assumed name. Organized by a right-wing dentist and a businessman who is behind a successful self-serve bakery chain, the meeting brought together roughly two dozen participants who were asked to donate 5,000 euros. The gathering took place in an elegant country hotel near Potsdam, Germany, not far from the villa where, more than eight decades ago, Nazi officers planned the “final solution,” their terrible plan to kill European Jews. “The vocabulary is no different, the place is no different — the only difference is that we have been there before,” said Andrea Römmele, a professor at the Hertie School in Berlin. News of the meeting has reverberated through the country. On Wednesday night, theaters across the country broadcast professional actors performing an interpretive reading of Correctiv’s report. Image Actors onstage. They are dressed for a dinner party. Several are seated behind a table draped in a white tablecloth. Roland Hartwig, who had attended the meeting, was forced to step down as the personal adviser to Alice Weidel, one of the two leaders of the party. Ms. Weidel, for her part, has accused Correctiv of using “Secret Service methods.” René Springer, a far-right member of Parliament from Brandenburg, the state in which the meeting took place, wrote on X: “We will deport foreigners back to their home countries. Millions of them. This is not a secret plan. It’s a promise.” The AfD is being monitored by the country’s Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a suspected extremist group, a designation that gives intelligence services more surveillance options. The office found that the party is moving farther to the right, to the point where it threatens rights enshrined in the Constitution. Several state chapters are already considered to be extremist groups. Since the details of the November meeting were revealed last week, thousands of people have taken to the streets in Berlin, Potsdam, Freiburg, Cologne and elsewhere. A demonstration on Friday in Hamburg attracted more than 80,000 people, according to the labor union that co-organized it. More demonstrations are planned for this weekend. “These demonstrations don’t necessarily mean that the AfD’s poll ratings are going down again,” Professor Römmele said. “But what it does show is that the silent majority is no longer silent — it’s an important signal, both nationally and internationally.” Image An aerial view of a protest. Protesting in Hamburg, Germany, on Friday.Credit...Carmen Jaspersen/Reuters On Wednesday, after an estimated 30,000 people rallied against the far right in the Western city of Cologne, Mr. Scholz showed his support. “I am grateful that tens of thousands are taking to the streets all over Germany these days — against racism, hate speech and for our liberal democracy,” he said in a post on X. “That gives us courage and shows us: We democrats are many — much more than those who want to divide.” ADVERTISEMENT SKIP ADVERTISEMENT During a special session of the country’s Parliament on Thursday, Nancy Faeser, the country’s interior minister, who is responsible for national security, joined the chorus of those warning of danger. “The greatest threat to our basic democratic order is right-wing extremism,” she told lawmakers. But the AfD’s widening appeal has presented a quandary over what to do about it. Many of its supporters say they already hold a deep suspicion of the government and feel increasingly unheard and disenfranchised. Many of its opponents fear that banning the party would only reinforce those feelings. Yet more than 700,000 people have signed an online petition to consider a ban on the AfD. Marco Wanderwitz, a politician with the conservative Christian Democrats party who was formerly in charge of dealing with East Germany, is trying to convince his colleagues in Parliament to vote for such a ban. But not everyone is convinced that banning the party outright is a good idea. “The most effective means against the enemies of democracy are not repression, bans and the like,” Philipp Amthor, another Christian Democrats lawmaker, said on Thursday. “The most effective means of preserving a defensible democracy are better arguments, good politics and good governance.” https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/20/world/europe/far-right-germany-fear.html#:~:text=Tens%20of%20thousands%20of%20people,a%20fundamental%20threat%20to%20society.

You do not fight unconventional warfare with a conventional approach. Some of these bandits have explosives and they are scattered. I do feel drone technology should follow their missions. mrvitalis: |
You can recruit females to do other duties other than being on the frontline. There are some things that females are great at...and some females are not being recruited into Elite Military forces in the US. Israel has a lot of female soldiers as well. We need to diversify, and if the females choose not to apply then that is different. We should not box all men or box all women. Maybe if we had more female bosses, there would be less sexual harassment and sex for promotion...Just saying. This is a good policy. I embrace it fully. Besides, boys have 65% slots to fill up. gebest: |

Good start...take note of all the abandoned buildings in the country...allow 60-90 days for people to claim them or demolish them...then clear all the bushes and shanties...these will be great starts...then enter the forest and clear them in such a way that they are easily accessible, and can be monitored by drones. We also need to sanitize our landlords on who they are renting to..get NIN, then Local Govt should create a database for landlords to put in information about their tenants or tenants will get clearance certificates that must be presented before being rented to. We have no clue whatsoever about those who live with us or dwell with us in Nigeria...locals or foreigners. quote author=vanitybutiwanti post=128022956] https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/01/insecurity-wike-asks-cp-to-establish-additional-police-divisions-in-gwagwalada/[/quote] |

This is very true. Some of these apps are not even owned by Nigerians. I have said it before...CBN or Naija Govt need their apps...or fix many policies that can help with remittances. You can create an insured account, so when people want to buy houses...they can pay into such accounts, then once the deal has been confirmed by the buyer, it will be released to the seller. If Govt can do that and help with land registration and tracking, housing policies around landlord-tenant fast-tracking these issues, and investment banks with fixed interests for Diaspora remittances, you will get people sending money into Govt coffers. I watched a whole Japenese series, and the actors ate their noodles, drove Hyundai cars, and so on...even abroad, the Japanese will buy Toyota and so on...the level of loyalty to their country is so high...Nigerians, ' level of patriotism is low. Govt is not helping. They need to do better to get more direct remittances. FreeStuffsNG: |
Our Minister or Secretary of State should also meet with him not the President of Nigeria. ijustdey: |
Until Biden comes to Nigeria, none of these visits mean anything to me. The disrespect of Nigeria and African countries must stop. ijustdey: |
