Joagbaje:
Did Jesus pay people too?

John 7:12
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people
.

And how much will be paid to leaders of nations to lie that they recieve miracle .
Politicians don't need to be paid to tell lies, after all leaders and politicians lie all the time, no?. . . .If lying will make the people believe that they are religious and vote for them or keep them in position of power, they will tell, lies no?. . .By the way which world leader has TB Joshua ever healed or cast out the spirit of witches and wizards out of his/her body?

What this and tell me if this innocent baby was paid too.

The baby wasn't paid but a woman can be paid to come and give birth in public when she is already in labor ,no? After all she was already in labor when she got there cos according to her she went to the hospital and was told she needed a cesarean section. . . .I have seen a woman give birth exactly like this before in Kaduna back in 2003. . .As they were about to take her into the car she stop, told them to wait, she then pulled her pants down, squatted (didn't even care that some people were there), screamed  and the baby just dropped down exactly the way the baby in the video dropped with no assistance from any body . . .Many woman have given birth at home that way without assistance from any body. . . .

The Nigerian man ,pays nigerians, paid Americans , paid presidents, paid rulers of nations for tv show? What else can we expect from natural men like you guys. I can understand what Jesus went through.

1 Corinthians 2:14
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The guy(an Asian) was paid simple. . . .Nigerians and Americans always get paid to do things all time,no?. . .No president of any nation will ever try the crazy stunt on display. . . . .

1. Is prosperity wrong according to the Christian doctrine?
2. Is there any verse in the bible that states the believers will experience lack, injustice, diseases, suffering and poverty?

I really want to know why many christians in the house believe that Joagbaje is a fraud. If there is one thing he is good at and does very well is supporting almost everything he says with passages from the bible. . . . .He believes as a Christian you are supposed to prosper in all you do. . . .Is prosperity wrong according to the Christian doctrine? If yes why are verses like
Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.

Psalm 121:7-8 says, "The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.

Deuteronomy 28:13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Philippians 4:19 "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

There are many other verses like that. . . . Why are such verses in the bible?. . . .Is there any verse in the bible that states the believers will experience lack, injustice, diseases, suffering and poverty?. . . . . .

Reading something and understanding it are very different things, no?. . . .How does a question like why does God not heal amputees and restore their amputated limbs which comes as a result of claims of miracles from the christians amounts to atheist blaming God?. . . .

that's nonsense because it seems the atheist wants to eat his cake and have it. the atheist creates a false idea of God that behaves just the way THEY expect. Why does the atheist think man-made evil should not exist simply because God exists?
False, God believers are the ones that God about projecting themsleves as God and creating a personal God that agrees with their ideas and conception, no?. . .The very many various sects in christianity alone is the evidence for this, every body just goes about creating what ever concept of God he imagines out of the bible that is why you always see very sincere christians disagreeing with each other most of the time, because even the writers of the bible allhave different concept of who God was to them. . . .Man made evil, according to some God believers, God is said to always  protect his own, if they pray to him and ask for guidance and protection,no?. . .What about natural disasters, that are not man made?. . . .funny how everything God is credited to God, but all the uncountable bad things are blamed on the devil. . .Some people even blame death on the imaginary devil. . . .Deluded people. . .

How true are these things? Where are the independent and verifiable links to show all these things are true?. . . .Many Christians "archaeologist" are known and have been caught making many things up to support the bible stories, many have had to recant their statements and admit that their findings are not true some once said they found the Noah ark but had to recant their assertions after their assertion were examined closely. . . .Let me give you just one example. . . .You said that the Talmud records the existence of Jesus Christ but the fact is that it is not true, .The Babylonian does NOT talk about Jesus of the bible. . .You can bring up what was written in the Babylonian Talmud lets go through it here and you will see for you self that it does not talk about Jesus of the bible. . . .It talks about a man called Yeshu who is NOT the same as the Jesus of the bible. . .
Christianity Etc › Re: A Question For Gray Beard by mazaje(op): 4:13pm On Aug 16, 2011
Gray Beard:
Many stories conveyed in the bible have been confirmed by archaelogical findings.

We start with a few -

The discovery of the Ebla archive in northern Syria in the 1970s has shown the Biblical writings concerning the Patriarchs to be viable. Documents written on clay tablets from around 2300 B.C. demonstrate that personal and place names in the Patriarchal accounts are genuine. The name “Canaan” was in use in Ebla, a name critics once said was not used at that time and was used incorrectly in the early chapters of the Bible. The word tehom (“the deep”) in Genesis 1:2 was said to be a late word demonstrating the late writing of the creation story. “Tehom” was part of the vocabulary at Ebla, in use some 800 years before Moses. Ancient customs reflected in the stories of the Patriarchs have also been found in clay tablets from Nuzi and Mari.

The Hittites were once thought to be a Biblical legend, until their capital and records were discovered at Bogazkoy, Turkey.

Many thought the Biblical references to Solomon's wealth were greatly exaggerated. Recovered records from the past show that wealth in antiquity was concentrated with the king and Solomon's prosperity was entirely feasible.
It was once claimed there was no Assyrian king named Sargon as recorded in Isaiah 20:1, because this name was not known in any other record. Then, Sargon's palace was discovered in Khorsabad, Iraq. The very event mentioned in Isaiah 20, his capture of Ashdod, was recorded on the palace walls. What is more, fragments of a stela memorializing the victory were found at Ashdod itself.

Another king who was in doubt was Belshazzar, king of Babylon, named in Daniel 5. The last king of Babylon was Nabonidus according to recorded history. Tablets were found showing that Belshazzar was Nabonidus' son who served as coregent in Babylon. Thus, Belshazzar could offer to make Daniel “third highest ruler in the kingdom” (Dan. 5:16) for reading the handwriting on the wall, the highest available position. Here we see the “eye-witness” nature of the Biblical record, as is so often brought out by the discoveries of archaeology.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmmmmm. . . .What am I to do with this?. . . .You are talking places of old right?. . . . .In two thousand years, Danielle Steele novels could also be taken as "Historically Accurate".  After all, the people live in places like New York, Los Angeles and when future archeologists find those places, the "Unabridged Gospels according to St. Danielle of the liberation" will likewise be "proven true". . . . . .

The bible is a collection of stories from older civilizations with a new twist. . . . . .Nothing more, nothing less . . . .

Remember Troy. . . The city was once thought to be mythical but was later found by archeologist, does that mean that all the Gods talked about by the people are real?. . . . . The "Odyssey and the Iliad" dealt with a city that was supposed to be a myth. It was found as well. Now because it was found, does that make Athena, Poseidon, Odysseus, Circe and the other Gods, monster and people real too?. . . . .I know you won't like or accept my my line of reasoning because it is going to point out a major weakness in the "historicity" of your bible. Writing about places is one thing, writing about people is something else. . . . .

As to the Historical accuracy of the bible making it 100% right, you need to understand that there are many stories and histories out there that likewise are historically accurate when it comes to places but as you don't believe the people or Gods that they speak of aren't real, why is the bible different?. . . .Because the names of places written in the bible were found doesn't mean the stories are real at all. . . .The stories in the koran and other religious books also have the names of real places, no? Your argument to me is false, . . The legends of Hercules have many real places etc.
That does NOT make Hercules the God real. . . .

Your argument seems strange and mysterious. the bolded seem strange as are you saying there are no Christian that are Hausas, do you know hausa is a lingua franca in the north? that is why you will find Christians using Allah? do you know that arab Christians use Allah for god? it seem you have some logic mixed up as Yesu means Jesus and the Islamic equivalent for Jesus is Isa, Almcihu means messiah, the Islamic equivalent is Al masih, I do not really understand what you were trying to prove, but you simply jumbled up issues,as the word Wallahi is clearly swearing by Allah, and i spoke to a Hausa moments ago and the Hausa lady said it does not connote seriousness but actually swearing by God or Allah.
The context is what matters, wallahi does not swearing by Allah to a non muslims that uses the word. . . .Non muslims from Jos or Adamawa that  speak the Hausa language use the word wallahi to mean am serious go and ask any body that speaks the Hausa language. . . .

You know I have heard of atheist who said " thank God that car would have hit me" will this also mean that he is saying seriously that car would have hit me?  It seems the atheist can not even do with out God, No?
Thank God is nothing more than ohh my goodness when viewed in its actual context when spoken by an atheist. . .Its just part of our daily figure of speech. . . .I have heard many Muslims here in the west that use the word "Jesus Christ" as an exclamation word. . . .Does that mean they believe in Jesus Christ the way Christians do?. . . .They Just use it as as an exclamation cos it has evolved as part of the language and is used as a form of expression and nothing more. . . .I use the word "wallahi" and "Jesus Christ" all the time because I was raised using those words, they are just a form of expression and nothing more to me. . .

Christianity Etc › Religious Scriptures. by mazaje(op): 12:30pm On Aug 16, 2011
We are made to believe that the force/ forces that is responsible for the existence of the universe wrote books or inspired men to write books on his or their behalf. Why are all these books based purely on some certain cultures? Why do they promote some cultures over the others? Basically, we can rule out the truth of any religion that is based on a text that contains errors of fact. Errors that, while they could not have been recognized as such by the men who wrote them, would have been glaringly obvious to a God who actually inspired them. But what do we see when we read various religious text? We see ignorance, mythology and nonfactual statements that constantly need to be brushed up twisted and delivered as the truth.

Any God with a personal message for humanity that has an interest in being worshiped, or obeyed, or followed, or really, anything other than being ignored, would be able to write or inspire a holy book that all who read it will find it very convincing; very clear, and very perfect in its meaning, and/or undeniably true. But the fact is no supposedly holy text that I have come across even gets close at all, but don't take my word for it. . . Ask the more than two thirds of humanity alive today who are NOT followers of that particular religious text (whichever it may be). No single version of holy scripture is accepted by so much as a simple majority of humans alive today, much less of humans who ever lived.

If the Koran was so damn convincing, why do the Christians, Hindus, Animist, Buddhist, etc reject it? If the Bible was so damn convincing, why do the Muslims, Sikhs, Shintos, Jews, Hindus etc reject it? If either (or any other text) was the word of God, we would all believe it, surely, no? If the creators/creator or the forces responsible for the universe have a message for humanity, why would they use a group of people to convey such messages. . . .According to the story they can speak the human language and can write for themselves, why use humans to write a bunch of contradictory and nonfactual books that are filled with lies and mythology? Does that not point to the fact that all religions are man made?. . .

Science is based on the ideas of men on what they SEE. They cannot SEE God just like you and as a result don't bother talking about him and they would rather explain things from their own perspective more especially that they don't want to be associated with religion in any way.
All religions are also based on the ideas of men, no?. . .Your evidence to show that what ever is it that is responsible for the existence of the universe wrote any part of the bible is whathuh? The people that wrote the bible were also explaining things from their own perspective , no? All religions are man made, no?. . . .

@claremont - you write that the Bible is falsified and its contents have been disproved and I wonder whether you are living on another planet. Go through the entire internet and it is awash with evidences from archeology that proves the details spelt out in the Bible.
Yes many of the contents of the bible are falsifiable,  for example there is NO DNA evidence to show that all humans came from two people(Adam and Eve) no DNA evidence to support that myth. . .If the story were true, there will be DNA evidence to back that up, no?. . .There are NO archeological evidence to support many of the biblical stories. . .Example the Exodus has been shown to be non historical, no archeological and historical narrative that supports the biblical account. . .

Histories from other traditions from people that are not Jews have more than confirmed the contents of the Bible. The problem is you and all these atheists are not independent thinkers. You just base your conclusions on other people's positions.
Is the bible as a whole not other people's position?. . . .You based your conclusion that the bible is true only because of indoctrination and not because its really true. . . .Where is the history from the Egyptians for example that corroborates the exodus narratives?. . . .Where are the Roman documents that corroborate the stories written in the bible about Jesus?

Gray Beard:
The Messiah would enter Jerusalem while riding on a donkey
Bible prophecy: Zechariah 9:9
Prophecy written: Between 520 and 518 BC
Prophecy fulfilled: About 31 AD

In Zechariah 9:9, the prophet speaks of a future king presenting himself to Jerusalem while riding on a humble donkey. This foreshadowed something that happened about 500 years later. As explained in Luke 19:35-37, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and presented himself as the Messiah, the King.
Alfred Edersheim, a Christian Jew who lived during the 1800s, studied ancient Rabbinical writings, and said that Zechariah 9:9 was often interpreted as being about a Messiah. In his book, The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, Edersheim wrote: "The Messianic application of this verse in all its parts has already been repeatedly indicated. We may here add that there are many traditions about this donkey on which the Messiah is to ride; and so firm was the belief in it, that, according to the Talmud, 'if anyone saw a donkey in his dreams, he will see salvation' (Ber 56 b)."

The name "Jesus," means "salvation" in Hebrew. - Copyright © George Konig, Ray Konig and 100Prophecies.org

Zechariah 9:9:

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
The Donkey

It has been claimed that, according to Zechariah 9:9, the Messiah is to come riding into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey and that Jesus did indeed fulfill that prophecy (Mt 21:1-7, John 12:14-15). [See also Mk 11:2-7 and Lu 19:30-35.] That ride into Jerusalem is often entitled "the Triumphal Entry". There is a slight problem in that Matthew speaks of two donkeys, whereas each of the other three gospels mentions only one. [Matthew may have misunderstood Zec 9:9 to be referring to two donkeys, rather than just one. Also, it is unclear whether, when Matthew wrote "Jesus sat on them", he meant to imply that Jesus rode both animals simultaneously, circus-style.] But let us not dwell on the discrepancy regarding numbers. There are more serious difficulties with the alleged prophecy, as follows:

(1) Zechariah describes the person who rides the donkey as "the king of the Daughter of Zion and the Daughter of Jerusalem" ("the king of Zion and Jerusalem" in the Tanakh). But it is hard to see how such a title could properly be ascribed to Jesus, since the Jews for the most part rejected him and he never claimed to be their king.

(2) In the next verse (Zec 9:10), it says (in the Tanakh) that the one who rides the donkey will banish chariots from Ephraim, horses from Jerusalem, and the warrior's bow, and that "he shall call on the nations to surrender, and his rule shall extend from sea to sea and from ocean to land's end". It is hard to see how any of that could apply to Jesus of Nazareth. Some say that the great peace that Jesus will bring and the kingdom over which he will rule is a thing of the future, but that is irrelevant in the present context, which is the issue of prophecies already fulfilled. It seems clear that the gospel writers' attempt to depict Jesus as the king who rides into Jerusalem on a donkey is purely contrived and is a failure, at least so far as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy is concerned. Thus, it lends no support whatever to premise (1) of the Argument from the Bible.

Now let's look at some of the prophecies about Jesus from the old testament. . . .A lot of Jews will strongly disagree with you that Jesus  fulfilled a lot of OT prophecies. Personally a lot of these prophecies do not mean much to me because to me you can use stories in the bible to prove a point in the bible. . .These prophecies don't mean much to me but here are some objection from some Jews with regards to some of the OT prophecies that Jesus was said to have fulfilled. . .

Gray Beard:
Akata man! Bible prophecies are fulfilled in such exact detail that some naysayers now say they were written after the fact! Looooooooooooooooooosers!

Oya, what about OT prophecies about Jesu Christi. Weere they also written AFTER CHRIST? ? ? - - -

The Messiah would be preceded by a messenger
Bible prophecy: Isaiah 40:1-5,9
Prophecy written: Between 701-681 BC
Prophecy fulfilled: About 27 AD

In Isaiah 40:3, the prophet writes about a person in the desert who prepares the way for the Lord. This prophecy foreshadowed the life of John the Baptist, who played an important role in preparing the groundwork for the ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus was born shortly after John the Baptist about 2000 years ago. The book of Matthew records many events of the life of Jesus and of John the Baptist. In Matthew 3:1-2, it says: "In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea, and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." - Copyright © George Konig, Ray Konig and 100Prophecies.org
John the Baptist

Some other Old Testament verses are supposed to be related to the alleged messianic prophecies. Mt 3:3, 11:10, and 17:10-13 (and parallel verses in other gospels) take Isa 40:3, Mal 3:1, and Mal 4:5, respectively, to be prophecies of John the Baptist. But there are problems with that:

(1) Isa 40:3 is followed by verses that tell of great events (the leveling of mountains and the glory of God to be witnessed by all mankind), and that certainly did not happen in the time of John the Baptist.

(2) In Mal 3:1, God is supposed to be speaking and saying that a messenger would be sent to "prepare the way" before him (God). But Mt 11:10 has stated the verse incorrectly, trying to make God say that the messenger would be sent before someone else. So the verse does not actually say what Matthew claims. One plausible interpretation of the original verse is that it is referring to Malachi himself, since the Hebrew name Malachi means "my messenger".

(3) Mal 4:5 says, "I will send you the prophet Elijah", and Mt 17:12-13 takes that to refer to John the Baptist. However, John the Baptist denied being Elijah (John 1:21). Also, the next verse (Mal 4:6) declares that, following the coming of Elijah, fathers and children will be reconciled or else God will "come and strike the land with a curse". But neither event took place following John the Baptist, so that part of the alleged prophecy was not fulfilled. Jesus himself set family members against one another (Mt 10:21,35-36, Lu 14:26), which runs counter to Mal 4:6.

For these various reasons, it does not appear that any of the given Old Testament verses made any sort of reference to John the Baptist. Again, there is no evidence here that any Biblical prophecies were fulfilled at about the time of Jesus of Nazareth.

How do u also know some of these are not to be fulfilled in the future the way others were? ? ?

Abeg face de plenty ones i showed you, and stop these childish poo
How were they fulfilled? grin grin. . . .Most of what you the so called prophecies were written after the events had happened. . .I gave you a few examples. . .You talked about the destruction of places like Edom, what the hell is that?. . . .You said Tyre will be attacked by many nations,. . .Eze 26:3-21 says that after being destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, Tyre would never be rebuilt and would never be found again (Eze 26:14,21, 27:36, 28:19). But Tyre still exists today. It is a city on the coast of Lebanon, to be found on any map of that country. It has been mentioned in recent times in connection with retaliatory raids upon Hezbollah forces in Lebanon by Israel in their ongoing warfare. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyre,_Lebanon

Most of your so called prophecies and just pure crap. . . By the way some predictions or prophecies written in the bible about certain places and certain people that can be traced they all appear to be false they mostly never happened.

Some unfulfilled Prophecies in the bible. . . .

*According to Jos 17:17-18, Ephraim and Manasseh will drive out the Canaanites, but according to Jg 1:27-29, they did not drive out the Canaanites.

*Jer 34:5 prophesied that Zedekiah will die in peace, but according to 2Ki 25:7 and Jer 52:10-11, that did not happen. Instead, he saw his sons killed, was carried off in chains, blinded, and eventually died in prison.

*Am 7:17 prophesied that Amaziah's sons will die by the sword, but according to 2Ch 26:1,21, Amaziah's son Uzziah died of leprosy.

* According to Ex 3:8, the Israelites will live in a large land, flowing with milk and honey, and according to 2Sa 7:10, they will not be disturbed anymore, but as a matter of historical fact Israel (and vicinity) has been a relatively small and mostly barren land, and the Israelites have been continually harassed from all sides.

* According to Isa 19:5, Eze 30:12, and Zec 10:11, the Nile River will dry up, and according to Eze 29:9-12, Egypt will become desolate for 40 years, with no man or animal passing through it and with all Egyptians dispersed, but as a matter of fact the Nile River has never dried up and in the whole history of Egypt no such calamitous events have ever occurred.

* According to Isa 14:23, Babylon will become a swapland, but that never happened. According to Jer 51:36, Babylon will become totally dry, but that never happened either. According to other verses, Babylon will never be inhabited by people again and God said that he will completely cut of Babylon, her name and survivors, but in fact Babylon has been continually inhabited by people since that time. It is now part of Iraq.

* According to Isa 34:9-10, Edom (the land between the Dead Sea and Gulf of Aqaba) will become burning pitch forever: no one will ever pass through it again because It's fire will not be quenched night and day; its smoke will rise forever. From generation to generation. But in truth that has never happened to Edom. People have passed through it for thousands of years up till today.

* There are other false historical prophecies in the book of daniel that never took place concerning certain people that lived and died like  Nebuchadnezzar and Jehoiakim.

@ Gray Beard

I don't even know what to make of your prophecies. . . .I expect to see clear cut prophecies that are specific not some vague prophecies about incidents that happened thousands of years ago, that are not verifiable. . . .Prophecies like, in the man is going to fly to the moon, or build station(houses) in space. Or man is going to build a car, discover electricity, discover elements etc. . . . .All I see and just nonsense. . . . .

Firstly, you need to know that some of your prophecies were written after the events had happened. . . For example. . .

Gray Beard:
Jesus prophesied that the Temple would be destroyed
Bible prophecy: Matthew 24:1-2
Prophecy written: During the first century
Prophecy fulfilled: 70 AD

In Matthew 24:1-2, Jesus prophesied that the Temple of Jerusalem would be destroyed and that its destruction would be so complete that not one stone would be left standing on top of another. His prophecy was fulfilled about 40 years later when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and tore down the Temple. The destruction was so complete that even the foundations of the Temple were dug up, according to Josephus, an historian who wrote about the destruction. - Copyright © George Konig, Ray Konig and 100Prophecies.org

Matthew 24:1-2:

1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.

2 "Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
The problem with this prophecy is that the book of Luke was written long after the destruction of the temple. . .Its much easier to make prophecy after the events have happened, no?. . . .The book of Luke was written years after the destruction of the temple. So how is that supposed to be a prophecy?. . . .One of the reason's I don't accept the prophecies of the bible is because a lot of the books were written by unknown authors after the events they wrote about happened. . . . .It is a well known fact that most of the writers of the bible are unknown. . .The books were named after some figures to give them legitimacy. According to tradition Moses wrote the first 5 books  of the bible but that is false. . . .The books were attributed to Moses. . . . .

As for the prohecies written in the book of Daniel all I have to say to you is to follow this link and you will see how the prophecies were debunked one after the other by a historian. . . The book of Daniel was written by two people after the events had happened. . . .
