Not too long ago the ABC Corporation released a new version of “The Ten Commandments” in which sinners were killed for the sins that they committed. First, sin is what kindles God’s wrath. The bottom line is that God’s wrath isn’t God’s fault; it is the fault of those who sin.

Second, God’s wrath will fall on some men because man’s sin offends God. God doesn’t punish sin simply because He gets some kind of “kick” out of doing it as some cartoonists have tried to convey. Sin is offensive to God. God’s character is such that He is holy, righteous, and pure (1 Peter 1:15-16). Because sin is unholy, unrighteous, and corrupt, it is offensive to the very nature of God. Consider Psalm 106:40. The Psalmist writes, “Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.” God had already explained to Israel that idolatry was offensive to Him (Exodus 20:3-5). So, it was due to Israel’s sin (idolatry) that God was offended and therefore angry with them. If we become angry when we are offended, and rightly so, why ought God not to be angry when He is offended?

Finally, God will ultimately execute his wrath upon sinful man because the wicked cannot go unpunished. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 states, “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” In this passage we see that God’s wrath flows directly from the fact of His righteousness and justice. Justice demands that some penalty be paid for those who commit wickedness. And for those who will not accept God’s generous offer of payment via the death of Jesus on the cross, some other form of payment must be made. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Yes, God’s wrath is something of which we all need to be aware. Paul wrote, “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God

Prayer works, how?  About a year ago a friend of mine prayed before he embarked on a journey to go spread the word of his God in a remote village in Adamawa state in Nigeria, he prayed(I was there when he was praying) to God for protection and a safe journey but was involved in a car accident on the way, he has lost his ability to walk forever, if prayers work, he will NOT have had that accident in the first place, because the accident is of no use to him as a person, if his God existed and answers prayers he would have protected him from the accident the way a father always protect his children from harm, no?. . . . . .

I read not long ago of a bus full of Christian missionaries in Tennessee USA that was involved in an accident, some of them died, some lost their ability to see , other lost their ability walk and others were paralyzed for life. . . .Am sure they too must have prayed before the embarked on the trip because they were travelling to India but had an accident on their way to the airport. . . .No evidence to show that prayers works at all. . . . .People that pray and those that don't all suffer the same harm and misfortune and they all also receive the same share of happiness or good fortune. . . . .

This statement came after Adam was created. It looked funny but if you study it, you will understand that there was a difference between the creation of man as a spirit being in chapter 1 and the formation of man as a physical being in chapter 2. The same applied to the trees, the animals and all. They were created spiritually first before they were formed physically. The same goes for the light created on the first day and the sun created on the 4th day. God creates first in the spiritual before making it manifest in the physical. We know today that a "day" is the period of time when the part of the planet the observer is on is turned towards the sun, and "night" is the period when it is turned away from the sun, correct?

The very definition of the words "day" and "night" are absolutely dependent on the relationship of the earth to the sun. . . .  Without that relationship, these words cease to have any meaning. Take away the earth or the sun, and there can, by definition, be no "day" or "night."

Yet the Bible claims that:

How? We know that the light and darkness are not really "separated," what we call "night" is simply the earth's shadow. What's more, God went on to cover the earth with growing plants the day before he bothered to create the sun!,  . . . Plants growing with no sun, day and night with no sun. What was holding the earth and other planets in orbit since the earth was created before the sun according to the genesis creation myth?

There are other stories about the God of the bible accepting human sacrifice I am more than willing to show if you want me to. . . . .

Animals like lambs, cows, bulls etc were used for sacrifices NOT human no matter the magnitude of sin committed. Agreed, the old testament contains some laws or punishments for certain offences which are considered violent or out-of-place. But, have u ever asked urself this simple question: Why did Jesus come to die for the world? According to the bible, the simple answer is to redeem mankind! The new Testament speaks about a new life in Christ Jesus. We do not live by the law (old testament) any longer but by grace Roman Ch 8. Please do study Ephesians 2:12-19.

You do not live by the grace any more because the people that created the God of the bible saw it necessary and expedient to change the nature of the OT God and bring in a new theology that will be acceptable to a morally evolving world at that time. . . . .

Lastly, that you do not believe in a thing does not make it false. The reason why some people CAN NEVER understand the bible is because they READ instead of STUDYING it. Moreover, the bible is not a story book that you give physical interpretations to, but a divine book and as such needs a divine interpretation and understanding. Remember the case of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch in the book of Acts 8:26-39. The man was reading a portion of the bible but couldn't pick a thing until God sent His servant to interpret it to him. It is pathetic that many people are not better-off than this eunuch!
