nice video. I like what was said about the parent child psycological relationship, the parents should teach thier children about all religions without bias and to teach them that they are just beliefs and not facts.

But then in religion beliefs are taught as facts inconsistencies denied and other religions are dismissed and demonised

Even preaching on public transport is beginning to happen here but its rare its not common.
That is the ONLY way religions can survive, any way religions are nothing but cultures that are seeking to spread out, and gain more adherents, so the only way to get more people to fall in line is by castigating other religions and claiming that they alone or posses the truth or that their own truth alone is the only truth. . .In reality they are only trying to make people believe their thoughts, hypothesis and myths. . . .

@Seyibrown,
Matt 24 was a Jewish prophecy. He wasn't making reference to the rapture but rather he was making reference to the second coming of christ which event will take place . 7 years after the rapture. When Jesus and us will come from heaven to fight for israel.
So it is all about violence eh,  grin grin. . . .Pls doesn't what you have just posted above shown you that your belief is entirely based on myth?. . . .How else can the alleged creator of the universe be fighting along side humans  on earth for Israel?. . . .If you imaginary God is so powerful does he really  need humans to fight alongside him?. . . .A God that allegedly spoke the universe into existence now fighting with humans(there is a part of the bible that has Yahweh fighting with humans and boasting that he killed them all alone by himself and stained his garment with their blood grin grin huh huh). . . .I really can't believe that people really believe in all these foreign myths. . . .

Pls I will like to really know if the bible says anything about the one world government that end of day enthusiast love talking about all the time, because even the rapture narrative that is being bandied by christians is NOT biblical. . . .Make things as you go is the name of the christian game. . . .

Here's a contradiction in the biblical scheme of the afterlife that I've never seen mentioned by anyone else:

Satan is characterized as a fallen angel, a being who once loved  the bible God, but rebelled against the bible God and was banished from heaven.  Jesus refers to satan as the enemy, and has disputes with satan in the gospels. . . . . . .

But, according to the story we are told that satan is also the ruler of this place called hell. Now, if this hell is where the bible God sends all those humans who are eternally damned to get the most severe, eternal punishment for their beliefs/behavior on earth, and satan runs the joint, administering the specific punishments to be doled out [lake of fire, pain, suffering], doesn't that make Satan essentially the warden of God's jail?. . . .

Why would an all-knowing, all-powerful being trust his greatest "enemy" to administer consequences for the most severe consequences of the most dire disobedience?. . . . . . ,

Why would Satan want to punish these people, and not  undermine the punishments, if he's such an enemy?. . . . . . . . According to the story he once undermined the God of the bible and rebelled against him, why then should such a God trust satan and his friends(demons) to torment people in hell? This is clearly a copout from cheap fiction and ancient mythology. . . .The heaven and hell myth is just there to scare people and keep them in line. . . .

The tablet of the law of Moses is inside the ark of covenant. It is safely secured by God until the temple worship will resume after the rapture. before the tribulation. There is claim that the ark may be in Jerusalem or in Ethiopia . But it wasn't destroyed during the raid on the temple because they couldn't find it.
I thought some guy once said he discovered the ark of covenant and many Christians the world over went gaga claiming that the biblke is true?. . . . .No stone tablet was found therein. . . . . grin grin

Yes . Our conscience is the God part in us that guides our moral values and standard in any society. But because of the fallen nature , man also has innate the appetite of the fallen man.
I kind of agree with this but not completely, because history has shown that people learn to cultivate their moral values. . . . .

mantraa:
What are the ten commandments?
Can you name all of them in order?
How many people can answer these questions correctly.

The story of the ten commandments starts in chapter 19 where God arrives in a thunderstorm and Moses goes up the mountain for the first time. God tells Moses to keep the rest of the people away – Moses gets a monopoly on hearing what God has to say.

In Chapter 32 Moses finally brings the tablets of stone down the mountain, written on both sides.

Moses obviously takes great care of these God-given tablets of stone. Well – no, actually he doesn’t. When he sees what the Israelites have been up to while he was up on the mountain, he throws them down in irritation and breaks them. He then arranges a round of fratricide, in which three thousand men are killed, and for good measure God sends a plague upon the survivors.

A quiet interlude takes place in Chapter 33, where Moses makes friends with God again.

And then finally it happens: in Chapter 34 Moses cuts two new tablets of stone, goes up Mount Sinai, and God writes on them “the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.” And this time we are told what they are, and they are explicitly identified as the ten commandments.

Actually they are rather curious. They consist of eight of the rules from the middle of Chapter 23, rewritten in a different order, one rule from all the way back in Chapter 13, long before the Israelites got anywhere near Mount Sinai, and one completely new rule which hasn’t been mentioned before!

Nonetheless, Exodus Chapter 34 is the one and only place in the bible where the Ten Commandments are explicitly given.
The Real Ten Commandments

Here then are the Ten Commandments of the bible (according to the King James version).
“ Observe thou that which I command thee this day:

   1. behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Take heed to thyself, lest   thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

   2. For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.

   3. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

   4. The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.

   5. All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. But the firstling of an backside thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

   6. Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

   7. And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end. Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel. For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.

   8. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

   9. The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God.

  10. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.”

These are the final ten commandments that were carried in the ark of the covenant.
Why are they so different from the first ten commandments that moses received?
And why is it that no one mentions these when they talk about the ten commandments?
I wonder ohh. . . . .

If you were informed by a foreign civilization that the entity they believed to be GOD instructed them to invade your native Yoruba homeland and murder every man, woman and child there, would you not stop to doubt if indeed that entity was infact and indeed the GOD that is the creator of all existence?

Indeed, I can answer that very question for you: when the Islamist terrorist cites supposed injunctions from "God" to commit terrorist acts in the name of Jihad - you, Nuclearboy - you have NO doubt that this injunction is NOT from God.

Why then do you suppose that the genocidal injunctions in the Old Testament are actually from "God?"

What this shows is that your argument about "right" collapses in the face of that which YOU yourself understand to be morally objectionable, and that which YOU yourself, when considering the perceptions of other people about God, would NOT accept as injunctions that came from God.

If a Suicide bomber tells you that his actions are directed by God, you would positively deny that. You would not believe or accept that "God" endorsed such, or you would conclude that it simply was not the "true" God. This is true, once you are honest with yourself.

Why then would such injunctions appear in YOUR own scripture, and the best you proffer is simply to state that "God has the right" to do such.

Could the suicide bomber not equally state that "God" who directed him, has the "right" to destroy?

Lets be honest and straight: You DO NOT accept that God does such things - why then do you defend them once they appear in your own scripture.

The summary of what you are saying is that the violence prescribed by "God" in other religions is reprehensible, but the violence precribed by "God" in your own scriptures is acceptable, being "as of right."

Besides recall that God changeth not.

Why then do you believe that he has turned a new leaf since christ came?

Does God turn new leaves in his character and injunctions?

Is a changeable God perfect?

What makes such a God different from a politician: adopting suitable policies to suit the mood and the time?

The grave truth is this: and from this I will not resile - You are detached from the violence and this is why you approach it with cold blood.

FOR: You condemn present day religious inspired violence, because you are alive to witness its horrific nature.

If you were alive to witness the genocide effected on Israel's neighbours at the behest of their God, I am certain that you would not so cavalierly state "it is his right."

You would be repulsed: and that is the simple truth.
Excellently written. . . .This truly seems to be the problems with theist, when the try to defend the culture and life styles of ancient savages, who truly believe that stoning to death their disobedient children or killing others because the worship other Gods was the right thing to do. . . .You can only keep trying hard, but the reality of it all keeps bouncing back in their faces. . .

What was amazing about these demonstrations?

Don't you watch movies? Have you not heard of movie props?

I have a few observations and questions.
Did you notice that the machetes were not implanted or removed before the crowd?
And the implements were also not actually moving.

Also, considering the apparent leanness of the first character with a machete through his neck, his neck seemed quite fat and he required someone to hold the back of his neck for him.

The second character if he actually cut that far into his arm, he would have been unable to keep it bent that way. He also never actually made a sawing motion. He only jiggled the machete.

You really need to be more observant more especially about such seemingly amazing occurrences.

Secularism does not encourage free thinking it rather promotes anarchy, due to the lack of clarity between wrong and right.

I'm sorry, we are clearly talking about different things.
In your twin babies illustration, the current practice (code of justice) was to kill twin babies but the mother of the twin babies knew that she didn't want her babies to die that would be the sense of morality I'm talking about.
We are not talking about different things at all, you seem to want to make it look as if we are but we aren't. . .Again you are not stating the truth when you declare that the mother of the twins didn't want her babies to die. . .We know very well about mothers that VERY gladly hand over their witch children to be killed because the society frowns at witch craft. . . . .The mothers back then gladly gave their twins to be killed because according to the moral values at that time the children were evil and of no good to the family and the society as a whole, mothers gladly gave off their twins to be killed so that evil will not befall them. . . . .

Our sense of morality dictates that killing a human being is bad unless possibly in self defense (situation of war).
This is a LIE. . . .A documentary I watched some years ago on national geographic showed how a local Aboriginal tribe used to kill their neighbors and eat their flesh because they believed it will make them better hunters. . . .Lets take the endearment to sharia law for example, a lot of muslims believe that a person deserves to be stoned to death for adultery, they see nothing wrong with that and believe its morally acceptable and also the best form of justice. . . .

Even during a war rookie soliders still feel a sense of guilt after their first kill and they keep thinking "should I have killed that person?", "did the person I killed pose an immediate threat to me?", "could I have done without killing the person I just killed?"
A lot of people feel no remorse for killing others. . . . .

Children have a sense of morality similar to the way a primary one student knows the basics of science 1+1 = 2. That is not enough for survival and were the child to be left to himself the myraid of influences to make wrong choices (regardless of whether the child knows they are wrong or not) would most certainly overwhelm the child.
Children have little or no sense of morality at all. . .If a child is brought up in a society that accepts and believes that eating its neighbors will make them better hunters then that child will grow to accept that culture and will not find anything wrong in that. . . . .If a child grows in a society that accepts killing of infidels as a divine injunction that child will have no regrets when he kills infidels. . . . .Children have NO sense of morality that is why parents and the society spend a lot of time and resources teaching them the difference between right and wrong and acceptable societal values. . . . .

Ohhh what a merciful and loving God!!!

I guess you don't even know what caused the war, so lemme brief you. Israel was on their way to Canaan. there was this place that they had to pass, and they asked for permission and promised not to take anystuff. But instead of permission, they received an army ready to do battle, so they did battle and won. Then Moab saw this and wanted to destroy Israel (meanwhile Israel considered moab and midian as brothers/friends and had no prior command to fight them). Moab/Midian employed prophet Balaam to curse/weaken Israel, and Balaam gave them advice on how to destroy/breach Israel's NATIONAL security. the advice was to make Israel sin, so that God will be displeased with Israel. So they sent women to seduce the israelites and make them commit fornication. God judged Israel for this and 23000 Israelites died.
The main reason why the Jews invade all the lands was because it was PROMISED them by their God Yahweh. . . . .NO OTHER REASON. . . .

The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” Exodus 3: 7

The bible very clearly states that they ancient Jews were promised the lands of others that was flowing with milk and honey. . . .So all what Yahweh could do for his chosen people was to tell them to attack and seize the lands of others, eh? so much for an almighty God who can do everything
