“Can Governor Akinwunmi Ambode walk on the streets and receive the same kind of support that Governor Fayose gets in Ekiti? Ambode’s elitist style cannot be compared to that of Mimiko and Fayose, who are governors that the common man recognises and relates easily with. We don't wait in line or que up for one silly Governor to start sharing one cup of lousy rice to us in Lagos. Someone should please help us tell the PDP in Lagos this simple fact. |

I know that poverty knows no religion, corrupt people in this country are Christian, Muslim. My dear O.P, I will advice you to relieve your heart of a particular burden in your heart, don't know whether you wanted to bash the Muslims or buhari because you have fail to realizes we exist as a nation because we tolerate one another. If anything of what you intend to instigate happens, am sure you wouldn't even be with your phone talkless of typing. Back to the issue of politics, sometimes I wonder why some people have reduced their brain to a kindergarten way of reasoning, speaking holistically at your issues, now you condemning buhari and the APC using religious sentiments, is the PDP only a Christian dominated party? NO...many of those who occupies positions are Hausa that are Muslim. What do you make of that? For your so much hatred against buhari, whether you like it or not, he's the President of the country in which you reside. Let face reality, why so much hatred, GEJ is not even as bitter as you are, he's been touring the world living in peace and here you are spitting a treacherous statement online, do you know you could be located and am sure you will spend the rest of your life in prison. Let's be mindful of what we speak and type on social media all because you want to gain "likes" on nairaland. Of what's benefit to you? Politics is always politics, leave religion out of it, the elites in the country milking our resources are both Muslim and Christian, there sons and daughters love theirselves a lot because, they go to america, UK together. Jonathan family doesn't even know you and don't expect you to act stupid just because you want to show support. My people in yorubaland, we don't discriminate, i have Christian sisters and brothers in my family, and so as we are all free to support different party we choose to support, we don't take that out of proportion by preaching hatred. Everything is Politics! ...and you know the aspect that saddens me most about all these their nonsense, it is the same youth that some people have been clamoring for that should be given the chance that are doing and believing all these rubbish. You can actually go for both but at different times. Now, since you're serving presently, I would advise that you use that spare time (which others waste away) to start preparing for the PMP exam and wrap that up within the service year. Besides, since it's a one-off exam (not like part 1, paper 2 or things like that) makes it easier to pass or fail. the Choice is yours. As for the seconmd one, I mean professional exam in food processing, that one can come along the line, anytime, provided something else or event does not over take it. This one is something you can grow to see the need while working on the job. As a matter of fact, it's better you start working as a food bio-chemist before you commence that as your work experience is going to greatly assist you passing. You won't want to rely on your class room theoretical knowledge, would you? |

I only read all the comments on the first page and I'm not impressed at all by what I was reading. Don't you all know that it is illegal in the first place for the national assembly to even tamper with what is sent to it by the executive ? Its absolutely wrong. Their job is pass the budget and not to add or reduce it. And there's also nothing like constituency allowance or project in our law books or constitution, we don't have such a budget or account heads. The work of the assembly is to vet what the executive passed to it as budget, send it back to them for correction if it's not properly done or needs to be tinkered with. It's not their prerogative to alter same.
All constituency allowance or constituency projects money received all along is illegal and a fraud.

MrOlai: It is genocide simply because it involves mass gruesome killing! Animal CommunitiesThe Quran describes that animals form communities, just as humans do: "There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but they form communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end"If someone kills a sparrow for sport, the sparrow will cry out on the Day of Judgment, “O Lord! That person killed me in vain! He did not kill me for any useful purpose” (Sunnan An Nasai) The Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said, “Whoever kills a sparrow or anything bigger than that without a just cause, God will hold him accountable on the Day of Judgment.” The listeners asked, “O Messenger of God, what is a just cause?” He replied, “That he will kill it to eat, not simply to chop off its head and then throw it away” (Sunnan An Nasai). Islam expects humankind to treat all animals (all living creatures - birds, sea creatures, and insects) with respect and dignity. Prophet Muhammad continuously advised people to show kindness. He forbade the practice of cutting tails and manes of horses, of branding animals at any soft spot, and of keeping horses saddled unnecessarily. “Fear God in your treatment of animals” (Abu Dawood). However, refraining from physical cruelty is not enough; abstaining from mental cruelty is equally as important. Even a bird’s emotional distress should be treated seriously. One of Prophet Muhammad’s companions narrates, “We were on a journey and during the Prophet’s absence, we saw a bird with its two chicks; we took them. The mother bird was circling above us in the air, beating its wings in grief. When Prophet Muhammad returned he said, “Who has hurt the feelings of this bird by taking its chicks? Return them to her” In pre Islamic times, pagan superstitions and polytheistic practices included acts of torture and cruelty to animals. Islam condemned this and put a stop to all such practices. When Prophet Muhammad and his companions migrated to Medina, they noticed that people cut off camels’ humps and the fat tails of sheep for food. The Prophet forbade them from them from doing this and said, “Whatever is cut off an animal while it is still alive, is carrion and is unlawful to eat.” (At-Tirmidhi) In Islam, the rules pertaining to slaughtering animals are very strict and fixed. Protecting animals from pain and undue suffering is paramount. “God has ordained kindness (and excellence) in everything. If the killing (of animals) is to be done, do it in the best manner, and when you slaughter, do it in the best manner by first sharpening the knife, and putting the animal at ease.” (Saheeh Muslim) "When you set your dog (for the chase), mention the name of God if he catches the game, and you reach it while it is still alive, cut, its throat quickly (so it won’t suffer)” (Saheeh Bukhari & Muslim) |

Most people that channel it to the gutter are mainly in rural region. You can't stay in Urban areas and be thinking of channeling your waste to a nearby gutter. It either goes straight to the soakaway or a septic tank. And to think of it, what is hygienic about channeling your waste to the gutter? I beg to disagree at the bold part sir. This isn't true and correct all the time. Though, I live in rural area, Sabo-Yaba, Little Rd, precisely, but even my in-laws who lives in Lekki Phase One have their bath and kitchen water channeled to the gutter. ADEWUMIMichael: According to him, it may not also be easy for institutions that had already collected money for the conduct of the post-UTME or screening in whatever guise to refund such money.
He added that this was because such money could have been diverted to other purposes.
Ogunyemi noted that most universities were under-funded and therefore, might have used some of the money to attend to urgent needs of the institution.
“Some of the arguments raised in this entire episode is that universities or tertiary institutions were using the conduct of such examination to make money,” he said.
“But the truth is, these institutions are poorly funded. If universities for example are properly funded, will the vice-chancellors be looking for other means of making money?
“In the last seven months, university workers have been receiving incomplete salaries, that is, the disbursement of funds for payment of salaries has always been inadequate.
“When situations like this arise, the managements will not be left with any choice than to look inwards and seek means of meeting such needs. Now, when you put the bold parts together, you will have no choice than to agree with me that the only reason why they are conducting the exam is monetary. They have deviated from the initial intents and purpose. |
