vivicintia: Thanks Please who knows if it is possible to get back non refundable deposits. Please help !!! Just like it says "NON-REFUNDABLE" There no way you will get it back since it was clearly stated and you still went ahead to pay. There are so many schools in Canada who will refund your tuition if your visa application is denied, I don't know why you went ahead with this very school(knowing fully well that the final decision to grant you visa lies sorely on CIC). |

An agent processing my brother's study visa said he is not eligible because he will be 29 by September The agent LIED! There's no age barrier, so at 29 or even 30 your brother can successfully apply and get his TRV. Let him package his app very well and pray. Tell him applying for TRV is so so simple that he can do it himself(in the comfort of his room) and get approval. With information here and CIC website he can |

dedecoder: In all sincerity, I think it's not all of us that can get things done by ourselves. Some would, definitely, need agents no matter the amount of info shared here.
I won't subscribe to an agent myself but I have come to realise that everyone is not me. For that, I'll say if you have enough money to pay, just do your diligence by reading reviews of available agents online.
And trust me, not all agents are careless. Some of them are actually professionals at what they claim to do. ....even if you must use an agent make sure you participate in the entire process, ask questions and know why he/she is taking a particular step. The main problems applicants have is not just using an agent but using an agent and leaving everything to him(with the feeling that you have paid for the service). Whoever have money to spend(and too busy to apply himself) he should use a registered agent and make sure he tries to be involve in the process as well. |

josmba59: Good evening guys. I am totally new to nairaland, but I hope to get solutions here... I applied for a study visa, but I was denied. The reasons they gave me were racist in nature, but then I hope to reapply for the same purpose. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
Those were the reasons. I am not sure I totally understand the 2nd and 3rd reasons. I need explanation from anyone with idea of what they actually mean. Again, since I am thinking of reapplying, I need advice. Thanks. RACIST in nature? Bro abeg no make me laugh too much. Pls am new in this Thank you Let him pay your tuition fee and transfer your living expenses into your personal account, then write a letter of support stating why he is sponsoring you and his relationship with you. He should also state the number of dependants he has(wife, children etc). Concerning his own statement of account, I am afraid he will have to give it to you so you can add it with other documents to submit. CIC will like to see his statement of account to know if he will be able to sponsor you beyond the first year of your program. Also let him show his source of fund(how he makes his money), of he is a civil servant let him show his employment letter and payslip or if he owns business he should give you copy of his CAC papers... anything to show how he earns money will do. |

Expect your approval before the end of this month. Try and mail CIC and remind them your school will resume on the 4th and you will like to know how far with your app(be polite about it), send it to Lagos office cos they respond on time(from what people have been saying). The letter galala123 posted is valid for Fall and Winter, if for instance CIC doesn't not respond till after winter(whuch we don't pray for) then he will have to request for a new offer letter from his school. The validity of the offer letter is boldly stated on it. |

Eseries: application date 3rd May, biometrics done 5th May. School to resume 4 September and I am expected to arrive 27th August yet my application is still being processed.
I feared for this so I started my application early yet the Canadian embassy wants to frustrate me.
Gurus in the house, what can I do? I am panicking already. Since your app has exceeded the normal processing time you should mail CIC and politely remind them your school is about to resume (though they are aware of the resumption date) |

uyplus: Were the affected applicants you know about delayed after being ordered by IRCC to undergo medicals or they were never asked to go for medicals and their final decisions were delayed? None of the 3 were delayed. If CIC ask you to go for medical then you have 99.99% of getting approved. Have you been asked to go for medical? and how long has your app been with CIC? |

uyplus: @Frankrobbn, mcobex, jnuywa
I'm curious to know if there has ever been an incidence where an applicant misses his/her resumption because CIC exceeded the visa processing time and issued the TRV much after resumption time because @ this current pace from the VO's, a lot of June applicants may miss their resumption date for the fall academic session. There's less than 2weeks left yet some applications are counting out ten weeks as against the standard nine weeks for June applicants. Sorry for answering late, not been online since. Yes CIC can delay issuance of TRV after resumption. Applicant should always update his/her school how far with the application, so the school can advise on the next steps to take. Most schools give students 14days extra(after the resumption date) to resume and if after that CIC still is yet to respond, the applicant will be advised to defer the admission to the next available term/session. Once the admission has been deferred, the school will issue a new offer letter to the student cos CIC will request for it once they are ready to approve the application. |

muizzzz: Good Morning House,
I am into partnership business and the coy has been in existence before i joined and it was not registered in my name as one of the directors. I need some clarification on the following questions:
1.Do I need to submit copy of the partnership agreement in my application or only the CAC document of the coy is OK.
2. Must the Partnership agreement be drafted in a letter headed paper of the company or on a plane paper.
2. Do I also need letter of introduction from the coy to be included in my application.
Thanks for your kind response. 1. Both the partnership agreement and CAC will do 2. Letter headed will do. 3. Yes, letter of introduction won't be a bad idea, they should state your position(major shareholder). NB: All these will help you tackle hometie cos I want to believe the company is not sponsoring your education |

Frankrobbn1: Hello Sir,
I'll advice you as a friend and as a brother. Please don't waste your precious time, resources, and money trying to reapply for a Canada study Visa. I have read what others have said about your refusal and concerning the ban which was given to you, coupled with the attachment you pasted at the previous page. I must tell you that's the practical truth!, you were actually given a ban, which makes you inadmissible to Canada for a period of 5 years. . As per the ban which was bestowed on you, your refusal letter will always follow the generic word "you're free to reapply once you have shown concern that your present situation meets the legislative requirements for a study permit". Sir! Even if you like hire Attorney David Cohen a prominent immigration lawyer in Canada, your ban will not be averted. Because you were sent a procedural fairness letter which allows you to explain yourself prior a consular officer will make a decision, of which you did and it came with a 5 years ban. Sir!, If you weren't given a ban, your refusal letter will be based on the normal generic reasons(purpose of visit, home ties etc...). I counsel you from the wisdom of my experience and several cases we have handled here about applicants being caught in sharp practices. You might also decide to deepen your refusal by ordering your GCMS NOTE
My genuine advise is you should look forward to applying to other first rate countries like New Zealand, Germany, or Australia and forget about Canada for the period of 5 years.
Deride not what I say because of its simplicity. Truth is always simple!.
I rest my case! Actually on the denial letter they said he can reapply if he can explain why he lied. So there's still chance of him to apply and get approval (as long as he can convince CIC why he did what he did)..... tough task but not impossible. NB: I will advise he seek the service of an experience person(immigration lawyer to guide him on what to write on his LOE). |
