Dera12345: Congrats dear, please which course did you have its Bsc degree? Sorry for your delay, first you should try and order your GCMS note ASAP. From your profile you have BSc already so why go for post secondary diploma(which is even lower than your BSc? Though such diploma will give you work experience but as the name implies, it's for fresh secondary school graduates(and ex military personnel). Try and apply for Masters or at least PGD(your BSc grade is good enough to get you admission for MSc) and you will get your TRV. Take your time and repackage your next app and you won't regret it. Best of luck |

richcasey: You speak for yourself bro. 51% won't say same. People want to leave Nigeria because they want to live in a country where the system works. Bro, no matter what home is home. Yes things are well structured in the western world but that doesn't mean but that doesn't make there your home. No matter how much we try we will always be second class citizens outside naija. |

DeChefAbuja: Hello Everyone...
i am so thankful i found this page and i will like to crave the indulgence of anyone with valuable info to my post to kindly and generously share.
i graduated with a second class lower degree under the department of biochemistry, went ahead to obtain a masters degree from the UK in Environmental Management, got married, had a son and relocated back to Nigeria with my family.
i have got a few years experience working as a school administrator from a top British school and want to pursue another masters degree to this regard(different from my first masters). i have found a school and a suitable course(University of Saskatchewan)
my main sponsor will be my dad; currently retired from a reputable company with account balance over 50 million and various landed properties. joint fixed deposit account of hubby and myself of over 2 million as personal account. I intend to travel with my two kids (age 6 and age 2) but hubby will be staying back to manage our businesses.
please i need advise on the best approach. thanks in advance for your kind responses What year did you finish your masters? How many years working experience do you have now? What course do you intend to study now? Concerning your children, people have been applying with their children and they get approval but I will advise you apply alone then once you get your TRV then you apply for your children (you can even do it while still in Nigeria). Answer the questions I asked above for further advise |

Cherryola: @mcobex my gcms note is out pls help the poor boi hope you still remember me you ask me to wait for d gcms note then you know how to support and advice on what to do I just saw it now and the reasons are: Hometie and travel history. I don't think travel history is that important, once you tackle the issue of hometie the travel history will disappear. Pls what and what did you submit and did you try to answer the question of hometie in your last application? Also I think you should write a LOE concerning your previous denial and the steps you have taken to address it. So you will write both SOP & LOE. |

vivicintia: I used an agent, but d deferral fee requested is from d sch not d agent and d school gave me till January to pay d deferral fee. Am no longer interested in d sch again or d deferral since d visa was denied. The issue now is not d agent but to get the acceptance fee of $5000 back from d sch. What u sent is for continuing studies , it's same refund policy for MBA. Av searched d acceptance fee refund policy for UBC, MBA based on visa denial can't find it. Ok, let's wait for their response. Best of luck |

Am sending a mail for acceptance fee (1.5m) refund ASAP You are still within the timeframe to seek for refund cos school just resumed few days ago. Mail them stating your visa app was denied and that you will like them to refund your money, attach the refusal letter as well(it is very important). |

Newman1010: @mcobex (my oga), i believe she's mixing everything up. The school cannot refuse to refund her money since her visa was refused. She will only lose a little amount categorized as administrative charges. She should notify the school with the letter from the embassy as proof. Beside, i do not think any school in Canada has a policy to withhold applicants money when visa is refused. In most cases the amount not refundable is usually the seat/acceptance deposit when the applicant receives TRV but decides to attend another school. So even if they say they want to withhold the seat deposit which is $2000, they still have to refund the $3000. They will refund her money but it might take between 3 to 7 weeks. Oga mi, I pray she is mixing things up cos 1.5mil no be small money o(even Davido no go like loose him money like that). Let her mail the school and attach her refusal letter |

Newman1010: @vivicintia, your money will be refunded if you send a mail to them attaching your correspondent letter from the embassy. The NON REFUND policy is for applicants that got their visas approved. They will charge you for administrative fees which should not exceed $200. A friend of mine who is currently in UToronto got is $3500 back from UBC after his visa application was refused. So don't worry, you will get your money.
Sorry that your app got refused. Wish you the very best. She said it was stated in her offer letter that the money is non-refundable (with or without her visa), and like she has already mailed them and got same response from them. Well, let her still mail them again let's see. |

uyplus: When is your school resuming? You aren't alone tho. There are many June applicants who have even undergone a medical examination as requested by IRCC and are yet to receive a final decision! I submitted my application on the same date as yours via paper route, medical mail dropped on 2nd August, medicals done on 6th August, updated to pass on 10th August and since then the wait has been eternal! Sent alot of Case's and still no update about final approval! Please feel free to send your CSE and remain hopeful that you won't miss out on the school's resumption date. Have you mailed the Lagos office? If not pls do ASAP. Most people will hear from them this weekend |

Your input is needed about paying of tuition fee or not paying.......because me is like the people I saw last week didn't pay tuition fee but only the money requested by the school as part payment are issued visa Concerning tuition: Some schools request for tuition to be paid before student can apply for TRV. Other s don't care if you pay tuition or not. Some will ask you to paya non-refundable security deposit (not much) just to secure your admission and the said amount will be deducted from your tuition when you secure TRV and want to pay the main tuition fee(i.e if your tuition is £5000 and they ask you to make a security deposit of £200, it means one you get your TRV you will pay the balance of £4800 for tuition). Then the last category is the one that will ask you to pay tuition fee before applying for TRV without refund if visa app is denied(RUN FROM SUCH). |

bbclue: Chai that school no try at all....even me that I was asked to pay 500cad for part payment I have to look and browse and even ask questions through the school fiancial service...if is refundable and I got yes is refundable....500cad for my own na big money Most people are so much in a hurry and desperate that they don't read terms and condition of contracts. I don't know the course she is going for but I know there are schools in Canada offering it and won't give him/her such conditions. 1.5million just like that, the school is even asking the applicant to pay up to 700k just to defer..... so so bad |

Vizzle4sure: Good day all. My application (Online) of June 13th is 11 weeks and a day old and have exceeded the current PT. Both review of eligibility started and medical changed to passed on the 9th August. Though I later got medical Request on 15th (I did upfront medical and submitted along my app). I sent the Medical Slip and was updated to pass "again" on 17th. On the 24th of August. I sent mail to Lagos, Accra, London, Nairobi and used the Web form. Still no notification and response. Now I wanna do them another mail. I need your candid advise. Thanks in anticipation. Feel free to mail them, be polite about it though. Since you were asked to go for medical I will advise you book your flight ASAP. Mail the Lagos office as they respond faster than others. You can get the email from the previous page. Congratulations |

galala123: If your visa application was successful based on the offer letter and you decide not to travel again, the school may argue that they kept a slot out of limited spaces for you which cannot be filled now because of inadequate time to process visa for next allottee.
However, I believe you have a good case having been denied visa. It's no longer your fault. As someone suggested, look for the refund policy on their website.
I am almost certain you will get a chunk of your money back. If they insist on not refunding, contact a lawyer and negotiate payment on amount recovered only if possible.
And which Institution is that? I don't think any Institution will risk putting their reputation on the line because of refund issues as it will hunt them eventually because people will only deposit where refund is possible.
Actually, I'm in similar position in one Country, Paid full fees and got visa but I don't think I can make it any longer. I plan to contact them next week. It was stated on my offer letter that no refund if Visa application is successful but they can refund on health grounds after being repatriated back to your home country and then the refund payable will be sent back to an account in your home country. In my case, I don't think I can make it to their Country anymore. In fact was planning to withdraw my visa application next week but it came through yesterday which is about 2 weeks earlier than expected. Yes I advised her to look at the school's refund policy but with what she just said about knowing fully well that there won't be any refund(if visa is granted or not) and she still went ahead to pay, I am afraid she won't get any money back. The school sent her a contract/offer letter stating CLEARLY that there will be no refund and she agreed to it by paying so I doubt if any lawyer will succeed with such cade. She should just move on and look for other schools. It's a pity |
