Please house, I would like to know what happens if one does not get his trv in time, let say an applicant is to resume on the 5th of September and on the 10 of September his application is still in progress, what will happen? Is it possible to defer to January then contact cic that you have deferred your admission to January and that you have a new LOA.. will they work with that or they will just take their decision base on the Fall admission.
The steps to take is as follow:
1. Contact your school and tell them you have applied for your TRV but yet to get a decision from CIC
2. Ask them what's the deadline for resumption? cos some schools give 2 weeks after the official resumption date for students to resume.
If by this time you still don't hear from CIC
3. Ask your school about deferring your admission and the next session for you( not all courses have January or May intake), so you school will advise you on that.
Hopefully before all this you will hear from CIC

You can use the company’s SOA. I used my Dad’s company statement of account with a closing balance of 23m. Didn’t include his personal statement of account because he hardly use it too. So far he can demonstrate his commitment to sponsoring your studies through his sponsor letter, you have no problem. Got my TRV already.

Goodluck.
Your sponsor is your dad, his' is his uncle(third party) so it's a different case. Though he might be lucky but to be on a safer side the sponsor should go beyond just stating it in his letter of support that he will sponsor him and show more commitment by paying money into the applicant's account or pay his tuition

He's committing 25k Canadian dollars each academic year
Tell him to transfer most of the funds to his personal bank accoubt. Also, since he is a third party I will advise he shows commitment by either paying your tuition or transferring the 25k to your bank account (though some applicant's don't go this far but I think doing this will help convince the vo you have access to the said amount)

The company is for my uncle who's my sponsor he put all he's money in his company acct rather than personal acct
Convincing the vo with a company's statement of account will be hard but not impossible. I would have preferred he put like 10mil in his personal account and the other half in his company account, then submit both statements. How much is he committing towards your studies?

@Mcobex @jnyuwa02 @austinpee4 and the other house mate pls I need your response on this can I use only company acct statement with balance of 20m as proof of fund for my studies with the CAC certificate to back it up
Whose company is it? I prefer you use personal statement of account instead as the requirements/expectations for using a company statement is high. They will like to know why a company will with only 20mill will want to sponsor you and some other questions will be raised. If the company is yours, then you can use it but will have to explain how you will manage to run your company and carter for your studies from the said amount.
All in all, it's safer to use personal statement of account than company's

Bury the hatchet! What makes us intelligent beings is that we are not a monolithic entity, but hold varying convictions and can agree to disagree. It is okay to hold to the opinions he is espousing because it not an idea out of the blues and unsubstantiated, but one that has actually worked for others. Please let us try and be respectful of each other’s opinions, responses like yours can start a quarrel.
Response like mine? I want to believe you didn't read how he responded to my post. Just like I always say, all we can do here is make suggestions and it's left for the person in question to take it or leave it. I made mine with proof, you made yours with proof, Frank made his with proof, Austeenpee made his but the moniker in question tried coming for me. Well, just like I said earlier I won't give him the attention he is seeking. I rest my case.
Have no beef with him or anyone, no time for that bro

Lucky? Leniency? For such a highly delicate process as immigration? Please say what you know! I have read many posts where people send their medical results via email post visa application submission and their status got updated! I have even read posts where people still submitted supporting documents via email to visa offices and it was acknowledged! There is no absolute to this application thing. For instance, many June applicants here haven't gotten any update yet from CIC, which almost 9weeks for the early June applicants, whereas some others have already received refusal mails! That doesn't guarantee that all those who haven't received a refusal within the 3 to 4weeks period will be successful in their application! Even the supposed gurus can put in a visa application and still get rejected even after dotting all I's and crossing all T's.. There is no absolute! I personally know a Pharmacist who got admitted to UBC in his same course path, Pharmacy, submitted mother's SOA with over 100m in it, no SOP and he still got rejected whereas some folks on this thread submitted applications without SOP's and got approved!
You expect me to answer you on this? No, I won't give you that satisfaction.

Boss!

Are you sure of this? I think I have seen a number of persons here who confirmed that they didn't undergo an upfront medicals during their application submission, but later went for it and send it to CIC through the webform/email, which was updated as "MEDICAL PASSED" on their MyCIC Account.

Please if you did this, signify by quoting this post.

Thank you!
Yes I am sure as that's what CIC says, it's either uofront(doing it before submission) or the applicant waits for CIC's instruction to go for it.
Some people might be lucky to send it after submission (without medical request from CIC) but that doesn't make it right bro. The vo in charge might not be that lenient

Can i do upfront medical at children clinic lagos and forward it to cic for my online application after submission?
NO you can't, once you have submitted your app without medical you will have to wait for CIC to instruct you to go for it.

Hello my brothers and sisters, today makes my paper route application 2 weeks old, and 2 days ago my upfront medicals was updated as passed, is this normal,as I have seen so many people here waiting for 6 weeks or so before they are updated.. why is mine different, Haven’t seen such here before, and I didn’t write them or so..I am just curios tho. Please has anyone seen something like this before, as am scared of this cic people, I was refused in June and reapplied in July did upfront medicals in July tho...
So you would prefer it takes CIC 22weeks to update your medical? Did you apply with the "other" people you are referring to? Stop comparing your app with other people's and thank God you have passed your medical. No two apps are the same. Best of luck

Ok, let your sponsor show proof of that from the bank and also state it in his letter of support. Do you have any other source of fund apart from that of your sponsor? or is the CAD25k for tuition fee and living expenses?

He's supporting me with 25k Canadian dollars each academic year by he have 5m in he's personal acct with 15m fix deposit certificate hope this is okay to go
If you convert CAD25,000 to naira you will get around #7.5million which is way beyond the raw cash(#5m)he has and the vo won't expect him to empty his account just for you, so I see a problem there. Cos I don't see him withdrawing from his fixed #15mill. When will the #15mill mature for withdrawal?

@mcobex @jnyuwa02 and the other house mate it is possible for me to use my sponsor personal acct statement with balance of 5m and fix deposit certificate as proof of fund.
Yes you can, but most importantly how much is the sponsor committing towards your studies? It's not just about the money in your sponsor's account but the amount he/she is willing to give out.

Hello house... I applied for a Study Permit via paper route on June 26th and received the refusal letter on July 24th. The reasons for denial was Purpose of Visit, Family Ties and Financial Status. I got to find out about this thread not long ago. I studied Project Management, have worked as a Project Manager for over 7years and got admitted for M.Ent (Master of Entrepreneurship). These where the documents I used for the application:

School Admission Letters
Term Tuition Payment Receipts
SOP
1year SOA (Inflow 34m; Outflow 28m; Closing Bal. N5.1m)
Employment Letters (Old & New)
6 months Payslips
Birth Certificates of myself & siblings
Sponsor's CAC Docs (Sponsor was my place of work)
Sponsor's 6 months SOA (Inflow 82m; Outflow 75m; Closing Bal. 4.5m)
Bank Reference Letter
Police Clearance
Sworn Affidavit/Board Resolution by Sponsor

Though i am yet to order for my GCMS notes as I am still trying to pull myself together but I am having a feeling my financial status is the major reason i was refused TRV.

Please i wish to ask, is it okay if i re-apply to another school in Canada? Do you guys think it would be an issue to a VO if the school of admission in my 1st TRV application is different from the school in my 2nd application??

Please i'd like your thoughts on this. Thanks guys.
Sorry for the delay. First I think the main problem is "purpose of visit" cos you studied project management and worked in the same field for around 7 years, the vo would expect you to go for Masters in the same field. Try and get a Masters admission in the same field and I see you getting your TRV.
Another point I will like to bring out is the aspect of your sponsor, if you must use one let him/her state the amount he/she will be committing towards your studies and since he is a third party (not your parents/siblings) he should transfer the said amount into your personal account.
About you applying to another school, the vo won't have any problem with you applying to any school so feel free to do so.
Lastly and very important, I think with a profile like yours(7years working experience) you should try the express entry (though I don't know your age range).
I hope I was able to answer your questions?

Thanks bro, we should link up. I would collect my visa this week by God’s grace (I speak by faith).

I am currently in Newcastle so I applied in London.

Wassup with Canada office though? It says 1 week processing time from the Uk for study permit but tomorrow makes it 2 weeks since I submitted (paper application) and still no response from them and my application status has not changed.
Are you in Newcastle for visit? if no then you should contact CIC to know how far with your app cos it has exceeded the normal time, but if you are on visit then the processing timeframe will that of Nigeria(and it's not advisable to apply from outside your country if you are not a legal resident of the other country). Best of luck

Guys,

I noticed that the applications made for Canadian student visa are done either through paper-route or online submission.

Does it mean one-on-one interview with a visa officer doesnt apply, just like it is done in the US student visa process?

Please clarify me
Interviews are organised in some RARE cases. The normal process doesn't include interview but they have every right to call an applicant for one of they have reasons to, but like I said earlier it is very very rare

God has done it! Received my passport today via Courier with the visa on it. My profile still shows background check and eligibility processing..... PhD MUN.

However, I did not receive any other letter as noted on this site except my passport (paper route) .

Altogether , God is faithful...................
Congratulations bro. Don't mind them, let them still be checking your background after giving you TRV (LOL!). They will soon update your profile and you will see your letter. Best of luck

Please can someone answer the following questions for me and my friend?
1. My friend wants to apply for 2 years diploma at a college;how many years of work permit would he get?
2. Also, if he apples for one year masters instead; How many years of work permit, would he get?
3. This question is for me: Please do I need to pay my tuition before coming to Canada, would the Immigration officer ask me that even when the tuition is not due yet. Also would I need to show that I have registered for my classes and what documents does that immigration officer ask at the port of entry? Would I be asked for bank statements?
Thank you. Please anyone with knowledge of these questions should kindly respond?

please ooooh ANYone answer my questions..Na beg I DEy beg
1. Your friend will get 3 years post graduate work permit for a 2 year program while he will get 1 year work permit for a 1 year program.
3. If you have secured your TRV there's no need paying your tuition before entering Canada, you will do that as soon as you land. Immigration most likely will ask why are you in Canada?- (studies), how many years? what's the name of your school?..... You can just print your bank statement or that of your sponsor and carry it along(though it's not important).

Hey guys i need your advice, i just got my stamped passport, my passport would be expiring 3rd week of January, should i make a new passport before i travel or renew the passport when i get to Canada?
When exactly do you intend to travel to Canada? If it is around August or September(which is around 6 months or less to January) then try and get your passport in Nigeria cos it will be cheaper and less stressful for you. You school/city might be far from Ottawa.
IN OTHER WORD, GET IT DONE IN NAIJA

When you get yours
You apply for TRV for her
My opinion dou!
Her 3 year old daughter is with her in a foreign land and you expect her to apply alone? Both can apply and they will get approval, if they were to be in Nigeria then maybe she can apply alone first but in this situation applying with her baby will fly.

God bless you for your wonderful help.
I meant getting "DAYCARE CENTRE" for your baby cos she needs to be taken care of while you are in school. Try and search for daycare centres around your school or apartment.
